Lighthearted Easy watch

Rating: 6.7

Why does FL remind me so much of park bo young in certain angles like genuinely also gives park bo young aura?! And whats wrong with FL friend who keeps gives her weird backhanded compliments like “oh why is someone so amazing mixed in with ordinary people” LIKE GIRL HUH?! Yk while watching kdramas i never got the fascination with having to get a guy who isn’t interested in you even vise versa . Miss purple uniform clearly sees that red finger isnt interested in her..she keeps pursuing him even tries to fake befriend baby blue finger… FOR A GUY?! Oh and i agree with baby blue finger when red fingers told her “you’re different from other girls i know” BECAUSE YAH that does sound like an insult like ahhhhh (cue jenna ortega scream).

I kind of relate in some ways to how FL feels about her mom. It hits home. Anyways what are these hostile mom meeting that i see all the time in kdrama like the moms in school are hanging out with eachother but also giving shade to other moms 😵?

Bong su and song u dol cute friendship and song u dol knows how to act, the kid knows how to act he is going places.

But i dont think i am the primary target audience. I dont think this has any rewatch value for me maybe cause i am already past being an hs student but if u showed me this as a hs student i would eat up.

A breath of fresh air

Honestly a breath of fresh air! I don't usually watch these type of dramas but I stumbled a scene of the main female actress on tiktok and decided to give it a try, ONLY TO LEARN LATER THAT ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DRAMA. Bruh.

I don't regret watching it tho since this one has a really good premise about a drawing club of different people of different ages with the same likings. This is kind of like Blue period which is an anime about drawing as well. This was such a unique drama and I really loved it. Although I'd say that I kinda expected more drama to come about on the FMC's family and the ending was kind of rushed a little bit as well. It looked like their family issue was deeper but then at the end they just kinda reconciled? and everything worked out. Probably my only gripe on this drama although ig its kinda natural since its kind of more a slice of life drama with romance in it.

But overall still a really good watch! Definitely recommend! 9/10.

super cutie—internal growth!

loved the storyline of baby blue growing!! her internal confidence struggles were so realistic. and struggles with family. but being able to have her own little space outside of everything that helped her grow was so sweet. gijeong also was so lovely — pure depiction of first puppy love. and i loved how baby blue didn’t have to change herself at all and still was loved so much. LOVED the side romances. khaki rip i wanted to see who he dated cuz unfortunately black is completely out of his league and age group. and LOVED mint and blue obvi. ugh how cuz he’s so down bad for her. and then SERA AND THE FRIENDDDD. bruh why did she have to leave to fucking germany. they were so cute. so much chemistry with no screen time hello??? but overall very feel good and fluffy!

Started interesting, but didn't live up the hype. A little confused on something's

Spoilers ahead: I just finished the show, it’s a solid 7.5/10. I liked the majority of characters, but, of course, all of them had flaws, and that's the point of the show: to watch them grow. However, we don't really see them develop as well as they could've. My favorite character is U Yeon, as I love how we got to see her grow. However, we also get to see that one doesn't magically gain confidence; in one of the later episodes, a conflict arises due to her insecurities. It was kind of refreshing to see because self-confidence is something you have to work on for a lifetime, especially if you have parents who constantly bring you down like U-Yeon. I also really liked the different themes for the art club and how each episode had different sets and costumes, very fun to watch. Also, I didn't really understand the romance between Mint Finger and Blue Finger. So, she liked Blue Finger since middle school, but got heartbroken in high school because of some guy, making her swear off love, even though she still had feelings for Blue Finger deep down inside. Maybe I missed some context since I didn't read the manhwa, but this is basically what I gathered from the last two episodes, since they randomly sprinkled in the fact that she had feelings for Blue Finger since middle school. I liked the MLS character for the most part, although I can admit that at times he was annoyingly pushy. But I do have a grievance because I didn't really like how he called her ugly for no reason when he was playing hard to get in episode 6. I know his character is supposed to be childish, but he can be childish without being so weird. He knows one of U Yeon's biggest insecurities is about how she looks, which is just bad writing, because he isn't supposed to like and respect her. Also, towards the end, the writing became really messy; I feel like it should've been at least two more episodes or something. It makes no sense for U Yeon's parents to change that quickly and suddenly become so understanding of their kids, especially the dad. I would also have liked to see a bit of U-yeon's senior year and how she continues to grow into herself beautifully, I feel like it would've been a better conclusion to the show.

A colourful journey of self discovery...

"Spirit Fingers" is a breath of fresh air! This coming-of-age drama beautifully captures the essence of youth, friendship, and self-discovery. The story follows a young woman who, lacking confidence, stumbles upon an art group called "Spirit Fingers." Through this vibrant community, she embarks on a journey to find her own "color" and regain her self-assurance.

What I love most is the show's perfect blend of lightheartedness and depth. It's funny, entertaining, and filled with interesting characters. The female lead's transformation from timid to radiant is incredibly relatable, and I'm completely invested in her journey. The male lead is the perfect antidote to the "cold male lead" trope – he's energetic, funny, witty, and utterly charming.

The supporting characters add so much to the show's appeal, and the multiple potential couples have amazing chemistry. If you're looking for a show that's all about fun, friendship, and finding yourself, I highly recommend "Spirit Fingers." It's a delightful watch!

Savior of K-Dramas for the 2nd half of 2025

The slice-of-life-esque premise, the elaborate yet simple storyline, the tastefully exaggerated acting and editing, the characters that are very one-dimensional especially at the 1st half of the series—it is vastly different to most K-dramas that have, in my opinion, put the genre in a rut for the 2nd half of the year.

It is so enjoyable and refreshing to watch that it has made me look forward to each release every week, which has been awhile since I've felt that way about any series.

Cute rom com - this is teenage drama but the plot is the same as for adult dramas

The drama is again a fantasy that some really weak insecure woman magically attracts some amazing man who is her sugar daddy and totally devoted to her... and takes care of her, for the rest of his life, regardless of how shi##y she is. THAT IS THE PLOT OF MOST KDRAMAS. In adult versions, ML is often cold and cruel too, and woman is poor and powerless, and he somehow controls her financially and otherwise.
it is fascinating how this same plot is reused just with slightly differnt characters....

***** It is very stale at this point. It is the plot for long gone past - not year 2025. *****

This drama is a milder version of it... This drama is more easy to watch and unique, fun and cute bc ML is super fun, kind, bubbly person. Yes he is vain and immature but he is very open, communicative, straightforward, rambunctious, fun loving and just FUN, and he is filmed so well - scenes with him in his pink sleeping bag, dancing on the stairs when they first met in the restroom, etc it is all great comedy... Bc of him, the drama is so fun and charming, and special and unique.

And I really enjoy that actor, he CAN act and in this drama he acts..... I saw him in a recent college drama where the script killed him, the script was so boring and made him a passive quiet poker face slimey SML. What a waste of his acting talents. He is very talented.

FL is nothing special, as usual. The role is boring and flat, the acting thus has to be limited, and the plot generated by FL stupid actions is STUPID. In this drama, ML saved the day with his cheerful bubbliness and upfront mischief and huuuuge efforts. From what I can see, ML did all the work in their relationship.

SO IT IS TIRING TO WATCH A WOMAN WHO KEEPS KILLING THE RELATIONSHIP AND THE MAN WHO KEEPS TRYING, esp since that kind of scenario does NOT happen in real life often.... so the drama is kollywood, feeding some airhead fantasy to the audience.

I am watching this after the drama finished, and while Dynamite Kiss is airing. DK is a rom com that SHOULD have been a teenage drama; or in other words, the plot o this teenage drama is the same as in DK - an insecure timid FL that does nothing for the relationship but lie, cheat and run away; and a very active strong smart conident "in conrol" action-oriented ML who takes care of everything.
Very often, dramas have cruel controlling ML, like in DK, and even sexual harassment portrayed as "being hot" like in DK.

SF is such a cute drama to watch bc ML is a bubbly fun personality.... ML starts as super entitled and vain... and luckily he is a kind loving DECENT person. That is the only reason why he and the drama was so watchable and fun. ML is a super nice young man really without too much flaws. yeah he is vein and immature but he is a soft, outspoken, caring, fun-loving person. ML is *fun*

DK is irritating bc the audience sees nothign wrong with it. SF is like the training ground.... Luckily SF ML is not mean. That aspect of ML controlling FL as he has more power is often an additional component in kdramas... like in DK/
DK plot in essence is THE SAME as SF plot... except that DK ML is cruel mean autocrat.... and just adds the additional layer of adult life - work - since ML is the boss of FL and in act sexually harasses her at work. DK is a super inappropriate drama. Real "ancient history" drama. The scenes are appropriate for a saeguk, not a modern drama, as the ML puts himself very physically close to FL, touches her, tries to kiss her, pushes forward although she says no. ML in DK is a rather mean controlling person who loves toying with people. Ideal character for a gangster. SF at least did not do any sexual harassment.ML just asked to kiss and she said no and he did not push, at least in first 7 episodes.

Spirit Fingers ML is active and always chasing her but he is luckily not a mean or controlling guy. He is cute, lively and bubbly and the drama was worth watching for his antics LOL He is that really lively obnoxious teenage boy, a good kid but very rambuctious. I really enjoyed him. If would love to have a son like that.

and I loved ML actor in this role... I saw him briefly in a college level drama recently that I dropped, he was 2ML and always soooo serious and passive and quiet... it was a waste of his talent. In this drama, he gets to ACT and he is totally hillarious.

I loved how ML was filmed, all his dancing on the street, climbing stuff, etc he wrapped in the pink sleeping bag, ... He was HILARIOUS and adorable. His long legs dancing on the stairs when they first met in the restroom was so cool...

FL is frustratingly passive and weak... I was thinking omg she is a teenager but is the same type of FL character like in adult dramas... Insecure, hiding, lying, not communicating... It was unsufferable. It is just ... too much...

So when FL kept messing up, I just stopped watching. Ater ep 7, I just could not take it anymore, it was enough. Then I just fast forwarded through ep 12 to see how it ends. I saw that FL had an episode of insecurity and dumping ML in ep 10... !!!!!

It was fun to see the villain actor from One High Shchool heroes,,,, he acted the same here and there :( Not talented... ?

Mint Finger is an alcoholic... I hope she stopped. That was not a good message to the youth audience...

I like that SF trid to address home and family situations. I saw the scenes when dad came home...

Could this be a sleeper hit?

Final Review (episode 8, 11/26/25):

Dropped but still a pretty good show. Just not for me. Honestly I’m not even gonna go ahead write a review because I don’t think it’s fair to be negative. It’s not a bad show. It just lacks the umph to get me through the last half, and I feel bad for our ML who deserves the world. The quirky and fantastical feeling is gone, and I’m mostly just frustrated and unengaged. That’s pretty much it.

Could this be a sleeper hit in the last few months of 2025? Initial Review (episode 6, 11/12/25).

Wholesome. Funny. Fantastical. Romantic. “Spirit Fingers” has its flaws, but wow… its strengths are many. This is an adorable coming of age romcom with all sorts of fresh elements making it feel new and exciting.

Pros:

• Ensemble Cast. Its cast is just amazing. You’ll fall in love with all of the Spirit Fingers club members. Our leads are well written, and our ML is an absolute psycho… a lovable crazy psycho lol. He has made me laugh so hard.

• A fun plot that just gives a fantastical, quirky feeling that keeps you coming back. The romance is sweet and engaging. In fact, there’s multiple couples to root for.

Cons:
• Our two FLs are driving me crazy now. Seriously, ladies… you both have two AMAZING men absolutely hung up on you and you’re both stringing them along. As of episode 6, I’m getting pretty annoyed with this.

• We have an awesome ML, but I would love to see him fleshed out a bit more.

Pumped for the second half.

LOVE IT

I seriously loved this K-drama, Spirit Fingers. It’s not just cute — it hits different. The love story of the main characters is so soft and emotional that you end up smiling like a sigma clown in love 😭💘. The vibes are perfect, the colors, the art, EVERYTHING.

What I liked the most is how the Spirit Fingers group feels like a real friend-family. When the characters meet, it’s so natural that you feel like you’re sitting right there with them, listening to their chaos and laughs. It gives you that warm “I belong here” feeling, and not every K-drama does that.

Honestly, if this drama dropped on Netflix, it would explode — like TOP 1 worldwide, no joke.
And bro… Jo Joon-young? The way he acts?? SO CLEAN. SO GOOD. He understood the assignment 100%.

I totally recommend Spirit Fingers if you want something wholesome, aesthetic, funny, and emotional at the same time. It’s the kind of drama that makes you feel better after watching it and stays with you for days But bro… I didn’t really love the ending. I wanted WAY more screentime of Ki-geong and Woo-yeon together 😭🔥. They barely showed them, and it felt like they rushed half of the webtoon into the last episode. I was like, “writers, are you okay in your mind??” 😭💀

relatable girl suffering from secondary character syndrom

What a ride. I won’t lie, I almost dropped this show LOL, but to my credit I was “speed watching” a bunch of shows that have been on my list for a while on Viki since I was planning on pausing my membership.]This show was the third K-drama to throw in a ridiculous “serious” scene within the first episode. I *still* don’t think the bathroom scene made any sense LOL it felt so abrupt and forced. I know bullies exist, I have been victim to a few, but it’s very rare for them to just attack someone so unconnected to them at a train station bathroom. I would expect them to at least have been her classmates or something.

That said, I still pushed through because I wanted to give it a chance and I’m glad I did. I know I would have ATE THIS SHOW UP in high school. While I’m not exactly like Song U Yeon (Baby Blue), I do think there are very relatable growing up elements to her that I would have connected with back then even more than I connected with it now at almost 30 years old.

While Song U Yeon was relatable, she does get a bit redundant with her thoughts and self-deprecation. Younger me might have been more graceful about it, but as someone who has gone through therapy and understood just how mean we are to ourselves, I was loosing my mind with how regressive she was after every bit of progress. It’s realistic don’t get me wrong, but upsetting nonetheless. Most specifically, I hated how she behaved after seeing Nam Gi Jeong model. It was so hateful for no reason and rather than think, wow my boyfriend is so cute and a good model, she “hates” him? The story doesn’t play this out properly and it honestly felt kind of forced rather than a natural regression on her part.

Nam Gi Jeong (Red) was hilarious and honestly kind of carried the show for me arguably even more than Song U Yeon. He is silly, confident, and terribly optimistic. No one else could balance out Song U Yeon as well as he does haha.

I loved all the other fingers especially Black because they gave her sooo much personality. I was honestly rooting for her and Khaki, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be haha. I will way while I was very happy for Nam Geu Rin (Mint Finger) and Koo Seon Ho (Blue Finger), their romance did start to frustrate me in a similar way as the younger main leads. I don’t like to hate on FMLs but Mint was really frustrating. The man bared his soul 100 times and she still just could not properly articulate her feelings. I liked her as a character but when the two of them where on screen together, I would honestly zone out for a lot of it because it was basically the same conversation between them from after her confessed until she confessed her elementary school crush.

I enjoyed dynamic between U Yeon's friends and how they all had their own growing pains to reckon with. I also liked the sibling dynamics both for U Yeon with her brothers and Nam Gi Jeong with his sister. I think those were really cute and relatable sibling dynamics. I was curious about Nam Gi Jeong’s parent dynamic when U Yeon’s family is so visibly chaotic. I do think they tied U Yeon’s family story quickly in a nicely wrapped bow more than I liked. I get why they did it but I think it could have been less intense if they wanted it to be “happy”.

### Original Thoughts & Ideas
- The idea behind them drawing just because they like it, even if they aren’t good was a great capture of how much we put other people’s perception of ourselves in front of our own true desires. We live life by this societal rubric that does nothing but hold us back from discovering and loving our true selves.
- The one friend that was jealous of U Yeon once she started to enjoy herself and her hobby goes to show just how much of unhealthy friendship you can find yourself in if you are “too nice”. I am glad they were able to reconcile and move on, but real life can be a lot messier, as I know from experience lol
