Spirit Fingers is the kind of drama you enter without expectation, only to find that somewhere along the way, it has quietly painted itself across your heart. Adapted from a beloved webtoon, the drama stands well on its own. I haven’t read the original, yet I never felt lost. Many say it’s a faithful adaptation; all I know is that the journey is easy to embrace, even for someone stepping in with an untouched canvas.

At its center is Song U Yeon, a girl who has spent her life shrinking herself. Convinced she lacks beauty, talent, and anything worth admiring, U Yeon moves through her world like someone afraid to disturb the air around her. It isn’t hard to understand why, home, the place meant to soften you, has always been a ground of comparison for her.
With an older brother who shines effortlessly and a younger brother nearly treated as a prodigy, U Yeon walks on thin ice, striving to be good enough for a mother whose affection seems to lean elsewhere. When she confesses that her mother plays favorites (and she is not the favorite) the ache settles deeply. It explains the way she curls inward, the way she doubts the small beauty in herself. But life stirs the moment she steps into the Spirit Fingers drawing club, a place bursting with color, eccentricity, and souls who wear their hearts openly. There, in that mismatched group of dreamers, U Yeon begins to breathe a little deeper. Her growth isn’t grand or dramatic; it’s gentle, like watercolor spreading slowly across paper. And perhaps that is what makes it so real.

And then there is Nam Gi Jeong. Tall, radiant, a little foolish, and unreasonably charming. A boy who looks at U Yeon like she is the only color in a black-and-white world. A boy whose confidence could easily overwhelm, yet whose heart is disarmingly sincere. Standing beside someone like him, it’s only natural that U Yeon feels small. Their push-and-pull is slow at times, but it mirrors her own internal battle: she does not believe she deserves someone as bright as he is. But Gi Jeong has a magic of his own, the ability to win everyone’s heart without even trying. The way he warms U Yeon’s brilliant younger brother, the ease with which he fits into her life, the unshakable honesty he offers… it all feels like sunlight quietly finding a corner that hasn’t seen warmth. Even when U Yeon envies him, envies the clarity with which he has found his dream. Gi Jeong handles her fragility with a kind of childish maturity that is both funny and deeply touching. He never lets her drift too far into self-doubt. He reminds her, again and again, that she is beautiful, unique, and worthy. I adore the chaos-laced love between Gi Jeong and his sister Geu Rin, all physical attacks and noisy affection, a sibling language that only they understand. I love how Gi Jeong turns cold to the world but softens instantly at the sight of U Yeon, how he leaves no room for misunderstandings… except the ones U Yeon creates in her own anxious heart. Thankfully, even that arc resolves like a sigh, brief and quickly soothed.

The drama’s strength lies in its ensemble of colorful souls; Geu Rin and Seon Ho, whose clumsy push-and-pull becomes sweet once their hearts catch up to their actions; Black Finger and Khaki Finger, a bold storm meeting a quiet sky; Pink and Brown Finger, the warmth of a shared laugh. And the unexpected spark between Sera and Tae Seon, a duo whose chemistry deserved a story of its own. Their friendships so sincere, supportive, unwavering, wrap around the drama like a soft scarf on a cold day.

Watching them made me long for a place like the Spirit Fingers club, a safe corner where you can show up once a week and be someone a little braver, a little freer, a little more yourself. A place where strangers hold out a brush and help you rediscover color. In the end, Spirit Fingers is heartwarming not because it’s grand, but because it mirrors the quiet struggles many of us have known: the ache of self-doubt, the weight of comparison, the slow search for who we truly are. It portrays these moments not with heaviness, but with softness, as if assuring us that growth doesn’t need to be loud to be real.

I really enjoyed Spirit Fingers!! It's a perfectly paced feel-good drama. Each character felt so unique and I felt like I could connect to everyone. Red Finger (Nam Gijeong) my beloved - I will miss him so much. The pookiest pookie ever! I loved the friendships and how they felt so authentic. 12 episodes felt perfect - I will agree that episode 12 was a but rushed, but it didn't feel like it was missing anything, which is why I loved it and why I feel like the pacing was perfect! It doesn't have to make perfect sense; it's a story with a feel-good ending! (What's not to love!?) I'd be super happy to see a second season but also very content if it ends here! SP taught me so much and I'm sure you'll learn a lot too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!✨

So much fun!

Loved how fun this show was! There were some deeper and more emotional moments as well but overall was such a fun series! The characters in Spirit Fingers as well as both sets of best friends were a lot of fun to watch. They all had great chemistry together as well!

I loved the relationships between the two main couples. There were definitely moments where I got annoyed at the girls, but only in a couple moments so it didn't bother me too bad.

Overall, a super fun watch and would recommend! Loved seeing Cha Woomin in this as well!

Also, I have to mention all the costumes and especially the sets! That was so fun to see each episode!

lacked in many ways, but the message is clear

The ending was a little weak; some aspects felt like they were concluded suddenly. I wanted to explore the relationship between pink finger and brown finger, as well as khaki finger and black finger. We didn't see her dad throughout the drama, but then we suddenly see him near the end. He ends up undergoing a drastic character development, too... that doesn't make sense? Her mom's arc was concluded quickly, but it was tied up well; the dad's arc wasn't.

However, I must say that I really enjoyed most aspects! This is one of the rarer times a drama should have been longer, possibly the standard 16 episodes.

Coming of age drama with lots of hidden messages. A fun, easy watch.

I honestly enjoyed this drama. It was an easy watch and it was fun watching all the SF members. The characters and acting in the drama were all entertaining. Overall, it was not bad at all!

Its not a romance heavy drama which I enjoyed. And it explored a lot about the main character, U Yeon, understanding herself and the people around her, and gaining confidence to speak up about her feelings and likes/dislikes. The drama starts off pretty simple and you would think that its just a simple, straightforward, cliche teen drama. However, there was a lot of hidden messages and the main characters actually had a lot of depth to them once the drama progresses. We see different sides of the characters and its honestly pretty refreshing to see how well the drama showcases it all.

I enjoyed watching the adult SF members and wished their characters were explored more but they did well for a 12 episode drama. It was entertaining to watch the different perspectives within the drama. That is, young highschool students, university students, and adults. I LOVED how this theme was explored within the drama. It was done so well and meticulously. Oh and I also particularly liked Nam Gi Jeong's character. He was fun to watch and idk he was just written very well. What a loverboy ahha.

Speaking of loverboy, Seon Ho and Geu Rin... THAT KISS IN THE LOUNGE ROOM (i think that's what it was called i don't exactly remember) WAS INSANE. It was SO unexpected. Like okay this is a teen romance drama calm down ToT. Anyway, I thought it was smart to have two different couples. The contrast was done really well. The other couples (or what could've been ig) were also portrayed really well. It made the drama a bit more realistic i.e. the difference in fights and misunderstandings between couples/people of different ages. Overall, the drama did really well in this aspect.

Okay, lastly, one thing I want to nitpick is the ending- hence the 7.5/10. It was so rushed. Like U Yeon's dad was FIRST shown in the end of ep 11 and he just stirs so many things up. And then in ep12, U Yeon introduces Gi Jeong to her parents, her dad chases after her and then what? Absolutely nothing. Her dad is shown to play such a big role in her family but its all just skipped and overlooked. I understand that showing U Yeon and her mom is more important since her mom is one of the main characters, but it just felt unfinished since we see no indication of how their family made up. Her dad also ends up doing a 180 and is doing housework?? Like its all just so random. And her brother? IDK there's just so many things I wished they added. Could've avoided all this by making it a 16 episode drama lol.

This is making me want to join a club or start one...

A social club is a great way to expand ones sense of self. Each of the Fingers had their own distinct personalities, and were open-minded and non-judgmental of U Yeon, even going as far as helping her find her own color. Beyond romance, this drama is about self-growth, growing pains, unlearning insecurities, and pursuing the things (and people) one truly loves, regardless of age, background, or external opinions.

Great casting. Lots of characters, but it never felt overcrowded. The tension between Se Ra and Tae Seon is incredible even just with their gazes. Kang Hye Won is surprisingly a convincing villain. Park Ji Hu and Cho Jun Young are promising young actors. I look forward to seeing more of their future work. It's surprising to see the juxtaposition of Gi Jeong's dispostion from Cho Jun Young's real-life personality. We also see the way Park Ji Hu acts as U Yeon vs. her ego (Delulu) vs. Slightly Dressed Up U Yeon Trying To Break Out Of Her Shell vs. U Yeon With New Found Confidence & Self-Trust. These are all the same character in drastically different states of mind, and her ability to execute the subtle differences speaks well about her acting skill.

I almost dropped this show for several reasons, and one of them was because of Gi Jeong seeming like an absolute airhead. I know it is a Himbo trope, but sometimes, the things he says early on are outright nonsensical. (Which is confusing, because his character seems to have some hidden depth, that I feel was not explored enough in the show.) But, I'm glad I returned and kept watching. Glad to know he is not an entirely flat character who only exists for the female lead's validation. He also discovers things about himself along the way, through loving U Yeon. I love that they both grow individually as they love each other.

The other reason was, I felt impatient with Mint Finger and Blue Finger's storyline. It starts as the cliche miscommunication trope where the guy has always had feelings for the girl, which is a story that is kind of tiring to watch, at least for me. It got interesting when Mint Finger's inner conflict was given light, but I wish they had done it sooner (and shorter), because the earlier episodes prior to the confession felt like dragged out filler scenes at some point.

My primary issue with the show is the way it was directed. Some cuts felt abrupt and random, and the CGI was frankly awful. Occasionally, a romantic scene that is obviously mellow would happen, just to be accompanied by really upbeat background music that kind of makes me confused about the vibe. The flaws do add a campy feel to the show that suits the feeling of being in high school. I heard that the filming was delayed several times, so I wonder what it would have been like if it went smoothly. Overall, it was nice. Not the best show I've watched, but still comforting, in a sense. The actors, set/costume design, and overarching message carried.

It's never too late to make friends, our differences is what makes us "us".

We need to find ourselves among others. Our encouragement means a lot to other people and so does our own stories. This show really showed us how beautiful it is to be different or be yourself, how the right people will support you and help you grow, not hold you back. I think it's really important, especially nowadays. I can't even describe how sad and lonely it is if you have no one rooting for you or having your back. These kinds of feelings I just described, you'll feel and see from this drama. I hope you truly do what you want to and I hope you try out doing many different things. It's okay if you don't know what you like or dislike. You won't figure it out unless you try.

A Fun Drama That Needed More Time

I would give the K-drama Spirit Fingers an 8.0 out of 10. Overall, I really enjoyed the drama because it had an interesting story, likeable characters, and a good balance of emotion, friendship, and personal growth. The characters were enjoyable to follow, and the drama had many moments that made me feel connected to their experiences.

However, I did not give it a higher rating because I felt that the story was sometimes rushed. Some parts of the plot moved too quickly, and I felt that certain storylines and character developments needed more time to be properly explored. I also found the ending quite forgettable. After everything that happened throughout the drama, I expected the ending to have a stronger impact and leave a more lasting impression.

Despite this, Spirit Fingers was still an enjoyable drama with a lot of potential. With a slower pace, more exploration of certain plot points, and a more memorable ending, I think it could have been even better. For me, an 8.0/10 is a fair rating because it was enjoyable, but some parts left me wanting more.

Spirit Fingers honestly starts off pretty well. The first episode does a nice job introducing the characters, and right from the beginning, the production quality stands out. The OST is catchy, the visuals are pleasing, and the sets and costumes are genuinely fun to look at. The casting is also solid, which made me hopeful about how the drama would progress.

However, as the story moves forward, some issues become more noticeable—especially with the storytelling and pacing. At times, the drama takes too long to explain simple things, while other moments feel under-explained or rushed. This imbalance makes the overall flow feel a bit off.

Another problem lies in how the two main leads are written. It’s not about the acting at all, but the characters themselves. Compared to the supporting cast, who are surprisingly well-developed, the leads can sometimes feel annoying or frustrating. Some of the male lead’s dialogues and actions also come across as unintentionally funny, which can pull you out of the scene.

That said, the drama never becomes painfully boring. It’s still watchable and doesn’t feel like a struggle to finish. It leaves you with mixed feelings rather than outright disappointment.

Overall, Spirit Fingers is a decent time-pass drama. You don’t need to use too much brain power while watching it. If you’re in a drama slump or just want something light with cute visuals, fun outfits, and some childish or unintentionally funny moments, this one is an okay pick.
