ITS SO GOOD!!

I actually love love love this show! Literally everything is perfect, and you can clearly tell the production put in alot of effort into it. The effects are gorgeous and the OST/music fits the drama soo well! Especially in episode 4! I love Dilraba’s acting and Hesimu’s personality and authority in the show. Their costumes are also very pretty! Dilraba did such an amazing job in this show! Currently on the newest episode! Can’t wait for the more episodes to be released.

Nice Idea with poor execution

Love beyond the Grave is a drama that you want to stay in the grave. The story is about cougar Goddess who tries to have fun in the mortal world and gets attracted to a young lad who is following her like slutpuppy everywhere. This was at least what I saw until ep 20, i can't endure more even though Dilraba is amazing actress and stunningly beautiful. The plot was developing in such a slow paste I was forcing my eyes open at some scenes. What I see in last year and in 2026 is that these 40 episode dramas are unnecessary stretched and the side plots and characters are just boring filler material.

I like the blend of magical touch and sword fight in every war in this drama . Dilraba as He Si Mu is ....
looking very beautiful, I like her strong personality, she is very calm , composed, shrewd and intelligent...on the other Arthur Cheng as Duan Xu is an intelligent general. I'm finding this drama very interesting so far 💗Miles Wei is damn cute ...He makes my heart flutter ....

In my top 2 fav dramas for 2026 so far

One the best stories in general ive seen in long time the talk about how obsession can hold us back in life and after death is good life lesson arthur and reba both strong presence on screen regardless when negative comments have said their chemistry is strong. What i loved is seeing enteral love of dream reunion with actor who play bai san xing. Also miles wei was so good as villain in this drama i have to give him. His props Seeing the adopted brother of the leads become the next ruler of the spirit world was beautiful. But fang xian ye death def hurt this drama had me so emotionally crying most episodes. Im glad we found out why he simu kept losing lovers cause of family curse by goddness he simu descent was funny as well. Im glad the leads got their happy ending i def watch it again. I hope the leads do another drama together like modern one i def recommend this to watch

A love that transcend worlds and time

Chemistry: on point! Cinematography: gorgeous! Nice story but we lost time on useless things sometimes so it felt like some part were draggy. Also, some part of the story were too predictable, it takes a away a bit of the fun to watch. But as someone who's not a wuxia/xianxia fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it. ^v^

Double ending

This is a bit of a spoiler but there's actually two endings. It's not specified in the main episode, however on the same day the show ended, there was another small 6min official video released at the same time that gives it an alternate end in a way. much happier than the ending in ep40 and we get to see a bit of both

also in this one she gets the ending she has always longed for so it truly is the case of both being happy in the end.

overall, this was a really good drama and i definitely recommend. their acting was so good and i cried plenty of times and i love the chemistry between the two.

Oh, this is good.

One of those series you really have to pay attention to, otherwise you can miss important plot developments. The writing is excellent, the acting by my favorite actress and her co-stars is perfect, and the concept is unique. My only disappointment has to be the music. It doesn't seem to fit the theme. I know I will have to watch this again.

Crazyyy Cast but

I rarely start ongoing dramas , because I have no self-control and it keeps me hooked to the story too. But when I saw Arthur's new drama with Dilraba and Miles was dropping, I couldn't help but start it from the first episode. I devoured the first 20 episodes! But I think something shifted after that; the story felt boring, and I still wasn't able to understand what happened in Nandu and Xu's family dynamics. Dilraba made me her fan with this drama, and the role suited her. This is my second drama with Arthur Chen, and I am grateful to him for introducing me to costume dramas. I would love to explore more of them. The story and plot and visuals could be better but the actors delivered good performance , though I felt arthur's performance less in this drama than in When destiny brings you the demon, but then again, he was a mortal with great courage and strength, and his character shouldn't overshadow Dilraba's He Simu. what happened with chenyang broke me, poor soul :(
Miles's role was as a villain, and i REFUSE to sympathise with him TILL THE END , for what he did. This wasn't love at ALL; no romanticising these typa lunatics.
Was it explained in the end why the powerful sword chose him as an owner? Maybe because of his strength?

MY REVIEW.---

# The Story-
## What I liked-
1. The "Void" and the spirit world are visually breathtaking. The concept of an immortal Spirit Lord who lives in gray/black/white until she borrows a mortal’s senses is a brilliant metaphor for how love "colors" our world.
2. I loved the early episodes where it was a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse. Having a female lead who is objectively more powerful than the male lead—and stays that way—is refreshing.
3. The drama excelled at showing, not just telling, the intimacy of the five senses. The way she experiences "touch" or "smell" for the first time felt incredibly visceral and high-stakes.
##What I didn't like-
1. Around the mid-point, the story shifts from a clever supernatural thriller to a "martyrdom contest." The internal logic breaks: if Duan Xu is a brilliant general, his decision to trade his life for a few days of her "happiness" feels like a tactical failure rather than a romantic win.
2. The Deliverance Sword Building it up as a 300-year-old legendary weapon only for it to be a glorified flashlight is a major writing flaw.
3. The transition from the gritty war-torn mortal world to the "shopping and fun" arc in Youzhou felt like watching two different dramas. It lost the urgency that the first 10 episodes worked so hard to build.

# He Simu-
## What I Liked-
1. She truly feels like a 400-year-old being. Her initial coldness isn't "mean"—it's the result of centuries of sensory deprivation.
2. Her transformation into a "happy puppy" when she finally tastes or feels something is the emotional heart of the show. It makes her vulnerability feel earned.
3. Even when she loves him, she remains the Sovereign. She doesn't suddenly become "weak" just because she has a boyfriend.
## What I Didn’t Like-
1. In later episodes, she fluctuates between being a cold, calculating leader and a worried girl. The transition between these two "modes" isn't always smooth, making her feel slightly out of character during the climax.
2. Her decision to erase his memories to "protect" him is a tired trope that undermines the growth they shared. It felt like a forced way to create drama rather than a logical choice for a wise Spirit Lord.

# Duan Xu-
## What I Liked-
1. In the beginning, he wasn't just a "fighter." He was a strategist who used his wits to stay alive in He Simu’s presence.
2. Beyond the visuals, his vulnerability when injured allowed for a more intimate, quiet chemistry that didn't rely on flashy magic.
3. His background as an "impostor" and his complex identity added layers of mystery that made him more than just a standard hero.
## What I Didn’t Like-
1. As a viewer, it’s hard to root for a character who keeps throwing himself into the fire. His "borrowing senses" knowing it kills him makes the romance feel heavy and stressful rather than beautiful.
2. For a legendary general, he spends a lot of time being fainted, cursed, or rescued. It weakens the "power couple" dynamic when one partner is constantly on a hospital bed.

# Conclusion
8/10. It is a visual and emotional feast, but the narrative bones are a bit brittle. It relies too much on the chemistry of the leads to cover up for a magic system that changes its rules whenever the plot needs a tear-jerker moment. It’s a great "watch-once" experience, but the plot holes make it hard to call a "masterpiece."

The love between a mortal and an immortal.

First of all, I enjoyed watching it. I liked it. In short, the plot is about the love between a mortal and an immortal. I liked the series, but of course, it's not without flaws. Some parts really tired me out. I didn't like it, but I watched it anyway. I especially couldn't understand how a less capable person could challenge a ruler, overthrow him, set traps, and humiliate him. Then, he easily eliminated him. This revealed a contradiction. There were many such things. Similarly, it was strange that a mortal was given powers that an immortal couldn't have. But the series is fantasy, they said, "play it however you want." And that's what they did. Some things need to fit the story. Without them, a sense of unity isn't achieved. There's a disconnect. Apart from that, the direction, props, costumes, action, and acting were all very good. I liked it. Especially Miles Wei; he's very well-suited to playing the villain. He acts well. I must say I liked him first. As for Dilraba, the queen role suited her very well; such weighty roles suit her very well. She also had good chemistry with Arthur Chen. Arthur is a very tall actor, and Dilraba was a perfect match for him. They made a great duo; I can say they got along well both physically and emotionally. I liked both of them. Similarly, Zhang Li was very beautiful. She acted very well and with great chemistry. Baron Chen was given a nice image; I liked his image first and foremost. And him as well. Gao He Yuan also suits these roles very well. I've seen him in similar roles many times. I wasn't surprised. Ding Jia Wen and Fu Bo Han (the young actor) were the actors who caught my attention. I recommend it to those who haven't seen it.

Unforgivable Character Assassination and a Villainous Betrayal!!!

The trailer was the first thing that captivated me, promising a great and exciting story. However, my interest faded around episodes 5 to 9, where it felt like the story went in an unnecessary direction. It picked back up around episodes 10 to 25, which I enjoyed the most, but then episodes 26–28 felt like pure filler just to hit a 40-episode count.

I wanted to give it a second chance because of the leads' great chemistry and the beautiful cinematography, so I tried to be patient. Many MDL-ers dropped this drama much earlier, but I wanted to stay on and believe that the story would continue to be good. Unfortunately, Episode 34 was like the final warning, as the events of the story started to make no sense.

In the end, the trailer felt like a trap that betrayed the viewers, who deserved a story as great as the one we were promised.

⚠️ FINAL VERDICT: Dropping "Love Beyond the Grave" after Episode 34 ⚠️
😤 I regret wasting my time. I spent over two weeks on a drama that started so strong and promising, only to watch it collapse into a poorly written mess. It feels like a completely different screenwriter took over at Episode 32 and ruined everything!

What happened?!
The "revelations" in Episode 34 were the final straw. The story has been going downhill since Episode 32, specifically regarding the horrific, monstrous true self of Yan Ke, which was hidden under his mask as the "loyal right hand."

😤 It’s not just that Yan Ke’s evil—we knew his nature—BUT finding out he was the murderer of Si Mu’s father all along? That is too much to bear. He managed the Void Realm’s affairs for centuries, deceiving her for hundreds of years just to steal the Sovereign seat, under the pretext of helping her reach and maintain that position. He was literally mocking and fooling her while she trusted him with her life and realm.

😤 The character assassination of Si Mu is unforgivable. Instead of being powerful and wise, the screenwriter destroyed her. Watching her "punish herself" because of the Golden Wall Decree—acting like a weak martyr just to "set an example"—was entirely illogical. Why would she listen to Yan Ke’s opinion that she should be punished, when he is just a lowly, betraying spirit taking advantage of her?!
She brought nothing but misery and pain upon herself. After five years of living in a weak status under his control, she left the Void Realm in a total mess.

😤Episode 34 really showed Yan Ke's true colors. Seeing him sitting shamelessly in Si Mu’s place after everything he’s done? Pure villainy. He traded centuries of 'loyalty' for a stolen throne, and I’m officially done with his character and this writing. 😤 Though he was expelled from the realm after Si Mu recuperated her power, I still couldn't support to see this scene!

😤 The reunion was the breaking point. Si Mu left Duan Xu for five years with zero contact, only to return once she got her power back. And what does he do? He just rushes to hug her like nothing happened! Where is the frustration? Where is the realistic emotion? Everything from Episode 32 to 34 has gotten on my nerves and made me regret every second I invested.

😤 I even regret saying I liked Miles Wei’s acting. Is it his fault? Not exactly, but the character is so repulsive now that I need time to heal from this disappointment before I can watch him on screen again!

Verdict: DROPPED. 🛑

Absolute one of masterpiece series

Actually I hold a little hope of two main characters uniting 😭
I already guess to end like this.
But the plot is really great and the actors chemistry is very good, also the CGI, the cinematography and the background music, costumes are far so so good. Worth watching!!!!!
Most importantly Jie Jie you’re too pretty to handle for my mind😭
I always fell in love with you every time I watched your series.💕
Good choice to watch this drama. May all of your days fill with blessings .
