I really enjoyed this series! The cast is fantastic — every actor delivers such powerful and emotional performances. The story is truly captivating, keeping me hooked from the very first episode. The soundtrack fits perfectly with every scene, enhancing the mood beautifully. This show is absolutely worth watching and definitely deserves much more recognition than it currently has.

It's a horror genre story with boy love

The series is too good to not to talk about or it'll be nit enough for the series cause it's very good . The story lines are perfect in their own way for each individual as well .The chemistry between leads , second leads and all the members from the casting is overly amazing . The score in the scene feels too real and so soothing . The OST of all of them feats perfectly for that situation and they are actually a very good singer . Overall this series is just perfect ❤️

Khemjira is one of the best 2025 bls

Everything about khemjira is insane from the acting,to the chemistry,to the osts,to the casting everything was done with careful consideration and it turned out so amazing,I just can't get enough of it,my favourite thing about this series is how each episode gets better than the previous one,not really a fan of domundi so I didn't really watch their series but I discovered khemjira and I'm shocked that they could produce such masterpiece, I've also read the novel and I can confidently say this is one for the rare adaptation of a novel that does the source material great justice, I'm very much impressed and obsessed with this series and the horror elements are so intriguing,if you haven't watched khemjira must survive please do you will never regret it

GREAT PLOT!

It’s been quite a while since I last found a BL series that truly caught my attention, but Khemjira completely reignited that spark. I actually stumbled upon it by accident—well, maybe fate had something to do with it—because it was all over social media, with fan edits and endless clips everywhere. My curiosity won, and I’m so glad it did. I’ve always believed that while Thai BL dominates the BL industry, only a few manage to stand out with great plots and bearable acting. Khemjira not only exceeded those expectations—it reminded me why I fell in love with the genre in the first place.

What made Khemjira special for me was how beautifully it blended horror and romance without feeling awkward or forced. The chemistry between both the main and side couples felt real and natural; nothing felt staged or overacted. As a horror fan myself, I loved how the show balanced the supernatural theme with emotional storytelling. The effects, music, and visual style clearly showed quality and effort—everything looked polished, and the soundtrack elevated every emotional scene. The way it connects to Thai culture, even in small details, gave the story more depth and meaning.

If there’s anything that left me a little sad, it was how early Pung’s story (Pharan’s ghost brother from the past life) wrapped up. His scenes were limited, and I wished he had more time because his presence was impactful. It made sense for the story’s pacing, but personally, I just felt sympathy for the character and the actor. Another minor thing for me was Keng Harit’s portrayal—I wasn’t sure if his nonchalant vibe was purely the character’s design, but part of me wished for a bit more emotional expressiveness. Still, it fit the tone and I can’t complain much. And to be honest, I’m usually not into slow burns, but this one completely won me over.

As of now, Khemjira is a solid for me, based on episodes 1 to 11. I’m still waiting for episode 12, and I honestly hope the final episode keeps this same magic—or maybe even makes it better. Either way, this series deserves all the love it’s getting. It’s proof that Thai BLs can be more than fluff or fanservice—they can tell stories that are heartfelt, eerie, and deeply human all at once.

Khemjira was one if my favorites

I am going to try to leave out spoilers if i dont sorry...This is now one of my all time favorites bl series (Other 2 are Until we Met Again and Not Me) but this one was just awesome...the music on the title screen to the cinematography. I havent even finished it yet but I am already so impressed. The sceen with a couple where they showed them through a window duting a storm was just awesome down to the scene where they are back in Bangkok and they show the room and then the bug on the railing. The acting is superb from everyone from the main 4 actors to the woman whonplayed the grandma to lady who played Ramphueng. We need more BLs with this quality and storytelling. Thanks to everyone who made this awesome series. I am sad I am almost done.

One of the best Thai BL if not best shows I've seen

start to finish this show was incredible. The early episodes keep you stuck on the characters and there is not one character in this show I did not care about. I love how even though there is a villain, we really cannot hate her and even in the end when it seems she is truly gone, the writers still give us a chance to actually feel her pain. I love that they did not shorten the final battle and they gave us true closure for all the characters. One thing I do wish they did was make the scene with their kids a bit longer, I wanted to see their wedding TT.

Not only an excellent BL, but also just an excellent show (of any type)!

Khemjira is not only my favorite BL of the year (EDIT: thought about it some more, and I'll actually go even further and say that it's currently my favorite BL of all time), it's also my absolute favorite 2025 show of ANY kind, period.

I watched it along with a few other shows week-by-week while they were airing, and while those other shows were certainly good and enjoyable, THIS series made me so obsessed that nothing else could even come close to comparing. (Every week I was actually counting down the days to its Saturday airtime, I was that excited to watch each new episode!) Everything about this series is top-tier incredible in every respect. Just to name a few:

The very careful, respectful, and 100%-serious treatment of its mix of various real-life Thai Buddhist religious beliefs, local regional rural folklore, shamanism, and etc. as well as a few real historical events (and just great world-building in general); not shying away from showing societal problems realistically/as they are, instead of idealistically/how things should be; gorgeous, immersive production that clearly spared no expense; lovely music (both vocal OST's - with equally-lovely lyrics - as well as instrumental scoring) that appropriately complements each scene; casting that is so perfect it's *unreal*; excellent, natural acting; a refreshingly deep story (that also deftly avoids clichés); absolutely magnificent pacing (not a single second of any episode is wasted! {I mean, except for perhaps the occasional product placement, LOL, but obviously that's par for the course for these dramas, and honestly most of the time it's way less intrusive here than I've seen in a lot of other works}); characters who are given space to breathe so that they feel like real, fleshed-out people (AND who have 100%-consistent characterizations, for once!); relationship development (and intimacy) for both couples that is both very realistic to and perfectly aligned with all of said established characterizations; superbly depicts the deep, abiding love to be found in (good) family, true friendships, and found-family/community; AND even has that all-important final piece: a *completely* satisfying ending!!

I really cannot overstate how fantastic this series is, not only as a romance (which, as mentioned, is fulfilled very satisfyingly for both couples), but also just as a genuinely excellent story as a whole.

(Now, for those who are on the fence because of the show's horror elements, I'll note that most of the series' more traditionally scary-type stuff is really front-loaded into the first episode, so if you can get past episode 1, it actually does get way less scary from there! I mean, obviously there are still other scary/life-threatening/etc. bits scattered throughout the episodes afterwards as well, LOL, it's just that, from episode 2 on, it's definitely not constant at all; a lot of the runtime of the show is just intriguing story and really good character work instead of scares.)

TL;DR: Khemjira is fantastic; it's clearly a labor of love from every single person involved; and it's one of the only-very-few-masterpieces I've given a full 10/10 rating. Absolutely recommended!

Opinion for 1 episode

Honestly, it's quite sad how the fandom culture is affecting BLs too.

--RANTING--
Fans over rate while haters down rate just to prove who is better or not. Some people don't even feel confotable sharing their opinions because if it's positive, haters attack and if it's negative the fandom paints you as a hater.

Look, no one is obligated to like or dislike the same stuff, okay?
For example, I'm someone that has media from all sides since forever, so of course I will consider all I watch during my life to base my opinion.
I get that fans want to focus in isolating the series to give an opinion, but that's unfair to the artists. I'm sure they know people will judge their work, like any other, so why be so annoying when people complain?

Yes the series is not all bad, but to paint it as a masterpiece from episode 1 is ridiculous?
How many times we don't see fandoms doing it and later complaining about the series? If right now I feel that the series is nothing much, just fandom hype, just let me feel like this. If later anything changes, I will update here.

Till there, I would like people to stop this kind of stupid wars in review sites, because I want honest reviews, not fan wars here too.
Let's be more mature and stop overselling or overattacking.

If you are reading it and you are not in a fandom, just feel free to watch or not depending of what you like. It's clear that BL fandoms are using sites like this to fight and we can't trust anything now.

--OPINION--
As for my opinion, I will be simple:

- Story okay, nothing outstanding from 1 episode so far.
- Acting okay-ish, the khemjira guy is clearly a newbie so I hope he improves during the series or else it will be bad since he may appear the most.
- Ghosts are okay, just a few that don't pass a vibe that they are ghosts but zombies.
- Effects are not bad, but could be better in certain moments.
- I love some terror stuff, so right now I'm not feeling much of it yet as I would like. Let's see if that improves.

The production, the focus on the thai culture, the foreshadowing, the sprinkle of humour and damn the chemistry is chemistrying. Forget thai or bl this is one of the best shows I've ever seen. The subtle glances and gestures that speak of longing betwen the leads, the push and pull, the expressions are just a masterclass in acting and direction. Por Kro is an excellent actor and Khem complements him beautifully. Charn and Jet playing the friends trying to help their friend but haplessly trying to figure out their own lives is lovely. I love that there's bit of clues to the origins of the curse as well as their past lives. It's a case of show don't tell that just makes for an incredibly entertaining watch. They've deviated from the novel to add more drama and romance, but it all makes it even better. MUST MUST WATCH

Horror, mystery and romance

Its a drama rich with culture and spirituality, So far it has an interesting story based around a curse and a mysterious man "Peem" who we don't know much about yet except hes some sort of shaman with powers to ward off evil spirits. "Khem" is going through a rough time as his amulet is loosing its power and horrifying spirits are tormenting him wherever he goes.

The makeup and special effects are high quality especially on the ghosts, The cinematography is really nice showing the darker scenes and the bus scene in ep one really well. Peem starts out as cold and not interested in khem even though he knows he is cursed to die. I am curious where their relationship will lead and the dynamics in store for us.

The first episode has some jump scares and is overall quite creepy, I am curious to see how they will blend the horror and the romance going forward.

ep 3: I'm very surprised by this so far, i didn't expect to like it this much, I love the past flashbacks showing the female Khem which explains why that ghost in uniform keeps stalking him in present day. There's still alot more they need to explain and I'm seated.

ep 7: best episode yet, and the love scenes + tension are serving.

ep 8: an extra long almost 2 hour episode with great story, a beautiful intimate scene and a dramatic/scary ending. So far the writers and director have done a great job living up to our expectations.

Ep 8 review - I HAVE a lot to say ?️

I don’t usually write reviews, but I think I’ll start now- please be kind, it’s my first one. This episode left me absolutely speechless. First off, even with its nearly two-hour runtime, the pacing never dragged. The story flowed beautifully, and the way it was delivered kept me hooked the entire time.

- KengNamping NC Scene
This has officially become my favorite DMD nc scene ever (and perhaps even one of my all-time favorites). I felt every single emotion. Seeing P’Peem completely naked felt like the ultimate act of vulnerability: as though he were saying, “I am giving myself to you without any mask or veil, both physically and emotionally.” What we witnessed was a man who had been holding himself back for years finally allowing release (again: both literal and symbolic).
The acting was extraordinary. The performances were so convincing that I almost felt like an intruder, a third wheel in their intimacy, yet I couldn’t look away. The framing and composition of each shot mesmerized me; every detail carried weight, every angle intentional.
From Khemjira’s perspective, there was a palpable mix of excitement and apprehension, as this was his first real experience with physical intimacy. His character has longed to be “normal,” but has carried the weight of the curse his entire life, leaving little to no room for romance, even if he longed for it. What this scene captured was two people experiencing different kinds of “firsts,” both stripping themselves bare of everything that shielded them in their own ways.
And the sound design? Brilliant. I deeply appreciated that the sequence was underscored by a delicate, almost ethereal score that set the emotional, reflective tone. At selected moments, the faint, distant sounds of breath (mostly from Peem) were woven in just enough to remind us of the raw, human carnal passion beneath it all. Yet these physical expressions were deliberately subdued, reinforcing that the scene’s true core was emotional intimacy. It was the peak of closeness: two individuals merging into one presence, even without going all the way.

- Direction
I have to praise the director. Every detail, every frame, feels so intentional. The way the story is visually told with the gazes, the pauses, the framing, never fails to amaze me. Every little detail is thought before hand, everything has a reason to be somewhere specific.

- Storylines
I really appreciated finally getting some backstory on Rampueng’s vengeful feelings. I suspect she’s behind Yai Si’s illness, though I’m not entirely sure yet. I love how this central plot remains consistently present, while still balanced against the romantic arcs and nuanced character development.

- Charn and Jet
Their relationship unfolds in such a different way than Peem and Khem’s. They first surrender to passion, acknowledge their feelings but then take a step back, deciding to build something carefully, with all the uncertainty that entails. I love the contrast with PK's relationship building as it makes each story feel unique.

- Phor Kru / Peem’s Arc
I don’t think Peem’s confession and openness came too quickly at all. If anything, it felt like the natural breaking point after years of holding everything in. When he asks Khem to call him just P/Peem it’s clear he’s tired of the constant restraint that comes with being Phor Kru. He just wants to exist as himself for Khem, yes, but also for his own peace. That hit me hard, his yearning to shed the constant control demanded by his role. For once, he can exist freel, not as a 'spiritual-teacher' (wouldn't really know how else to describe it lol) bound by duty, but as himself. This moment of liberation felt essential both for his relationship and his own self-acceptance. (And side note: the haircut this episode? Perfection. I couldn't stop screaming everytime he was on screen- And major points to DMD for finally giving us realistic tattoos!)

- Acting
Namping absolutely floored me. The way he cries is just beautiful, it feels so genuine. And I especially admired how well he played a character who’s bad at lying. That’s harder than it looks, because you have to “act badly” on purpose, while still keeping it believable. He delivered it flawlessly.
