My 1st Ao Rui Peng show and I love it!

It's been a while since I had such a great time watching C-drama. Some might find it a bit goofy and not that funny based on first few episodes, but it does get so much funnier over time. There are cases where jokes are lost in translation simply because it only makes sense if you understand the language as it's playing with words. That said, I had a great laugh, at least for 1st half before the plot gets more serious. I also love how it doesn't focus on romance, so we can focus on just one main plot.

One of rare dramas where all the female leads are actually lovable, (not princess tantrum throwing or damsel in distress). I especially love Jiu Jiu character.

Then...comes the ending, not my favorite, yet reality hits me..."It's C-drama, a period drama at that, what did u expect?" Typical trope where sacrifice is seen as great virtue. That aside, I enjoy this drama a lot. Again, it's something I went through each time with C period drama and still find myself watching them 😂

Silly dramas are funny until they get serious.... And I need them to stay silly

Well....
I got reeled into watching Pull Strings by the trailers. I always love a silly drama and I especially love Ao Ruipeng as a silly character. I laughed SO MUCH during the first 22-23 episodes and then the plot got serious, literally jokes aside.... Please dear writers, I need you to figure out how to keep silly dramas silly until the end, you can't crush my soul like this.
I still give this drama a rating of 8 out of 10, because at the end of the day, it's still good and worth watching. The plot is pretty solid although I did not quite get the bit the Dragon King's plot, but I blame this on my ability to comprehend the subtitles lol. What I think is a negative point for the plot is the relationship between Yunxiao and Li Changsheng. Hear me out, not every drama needs the main leads to fall in love, their relationship can stay platonic. Another thing I've noticed in dramas like this, when the writers put in a thing like Changshou bringing modern world into the fantasy world, this lets call it quirk for a lack of better words, slowly dissipates throughout the drama. Why. Writers, please figure this one out too.
I really loved the cast, especially Cui Shaoyang getting so many episodes. And I don't have anything more to add here lol
The OST in this drama definitely stands out. None of the songs caught my attention especially, but then again, I'm not really an OST person.
Rewatch value. I'd rewatch the first 23 episodes because they are so funny and I love a silly plot.

the best comedy drama of this year.

I am watching Pull String, and I really love the fact that not a single episode is boring. I have watched the donghua version of Pull String, which is Big Brother. Obviously, it is not as grand as the anime because the scale you can create in animation is really hard to replicate in a drama. So, they definitely made some changes. But you still get what you want.

You get a good story, great comic timing, hilarious situations, and, as the cherry on top, a cute couple. I also like how lighthearted the drama is. The first priority seems to be the plot and comedy, and surprisingly, it works well enough for me to stay hooked.

I won't lie about the VFX—it feels a bit like Love Between Fairy and Devil. It's not too good, but it's not too bad either.

If you are looking for something serious, with high production value and detailed, complex characters, this one is probably not for you.

But if you want something funny to watch, where you get a good plot and can simply have fun, with lighthearted characters, then this one is for you.

10/10 if you want something funny to watch.

I would also say that if you have watched The Guardian of Dafeng, Pull String is better than that one when it comes to comedy. the best comedy fantasy drama i have watched in main stream..

Li Chan Shou

Guys, I just finished Episode 30 of Pull Strings, and WOW 😭😭 I genuinely, genuinely enjoyed this drama from beginning to end!

Honestly, it was a rollercoaster of emotions, laughter, chaos, and pure unseriousness 😂. I laughed so much I was literally tearing up. Even in scenes that were supposed to be serious, somehow the way they executed them made them funny. There was barely a moment where I wasn’t entertained. 😂

Let me just say this: Pull Strings is an unserious drama in the BEST possible way. 😭 If you’re feeling down, having a bad day, or you just need something to lift your mood, PLEASE turn this drama on. You will laugh your ass off. 😂😂

And that ending??? 👀 The way Jin Chan mentioned the two tribulations — the fairy being the hero of the first tribulation and the male lead being the hero of the second — AND THEN they gave us “TO BE CONTINUED”??? 😭😭

Yeahhh, I’m taking that as confirmation that we’re getting Season 2 because there is NO WAY they ended it like that and expect us to just move on. 😂 Now the question is WHEN are they giving us Season 2? Because I have questions! 😭

For those of you who are still wondering, “Should I watch Pull Strings?” — YES. GO WATCH IT. And for those who dropped it halfway, please go and pick it back up! You’re missing out. 😂

One thing I really appreciated was how everyone got their chance to shine. It wasn’t just about the main leads. The disciples, mentors, the sects, the Immortal Clan, Bear Clan, Dragon Sect, Ascension Sect, and everyone else all played their parts and contributed to the story. Nobody felt completely useless or like they were just there for decoration.

Everybody brought something to the table, and I really enjoyed watching how their different roles came together.

Overall, Pull Strings was such a fun watch. It gave me laughter, emotions, chaos, and entertainment from start to finish. 😂❤️

Rating: 9/10 — because honestly, I had FUN watching this drama, and sometimes that’s all I need. 😭😂

Disappointed for ruin story from original novel

Dissapointed because ruin original story from novel & donghua. Great Mage Xuandu is my fav character from original novel & donghua but this drama ruin his story. Original novel & donghua, Great Mage Xuandu should be pairing with Kong Xuan NOT Wen Jing.
Actor Li Changshou is best option as Li Changshou is the only reason i keep watch this til end episode. When this drama released, i was hope to see Great Mage Xuandu with Kong Xuan, but why screenwriter must change original story? Great Mage Xuandu should be pairing with Kong Xuan NOT Wen Jing!!! Where is my beloved phoenix Kong Xuan? I hate to see Great Mage Xuandu with Wen Jing. Totally this drama ruin original novel & donghua!!! Not recommended for people who have watch donghua My Senior Brother is too Steady because this drama story very worst.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching it!!!

I started this drama without any expectations, since, i haven't read the novel or seen the donghua, but ended up loving it🤗
The first few episodes were funny with the introduction of all characters and the male lead himself being unserious most of the times.
But as the plot progresses, though it takes us on a fun ride, underneath, we are introduced gradually to the main plot and the characters that are directly related to it, along with their goals.
While I enjoyed all these episodes, what really I loved was the last few episodes where we get to see the emotions between Li Changshou and his master and junior sister, his desperation to find a solution to put an end to all this and let everyone leave peacefully, and also his meticulously planned steps which started to tumble down due to the villain and his actions.
Honestly, the last episodes were where I thought Li Changshou was actually being himself, like his junior sister said, "trying to protect everyone while wearing a cover of using everyone around him".
These episodes also brought tears to my eyes.
I loved the relationship between Li Changshou, Qi Yuan, Lan Ling'e and also with his aunt Jiu Jiu, and junior Xuanya.
Also, his friendship with the Celestial emperor, the moon elder and Ao Yi, the dragon second prince too.
The whole part of Bear Island was funny for me.
The subtle romantic track between Li Changshou and Fairy Yunxiao really impressed me. They dont require any words to communicate, just their heart and mind are in sync🥰
All the actors were excellent in their performance 💯
Ao Ruipeng totally nailed his character. From being funny to serious, being decisive to being emotional, he was perfect in his acting👌
On a final note, i really loved this drama👍
A TOTALLY WORTH WATCHING DRAMA, despite few flaws.
