Hit or miss? This series missed for me.
I've already watched 10 out of the 12 episodes, and honestly, it's not that bad, but it's not good either..ᐟ Liked
- EarthMix
- Cameos
- Boss finally loving himself
- Mr. Saturnworld (so cute!)
- Heng and Mo outing their relationship to comfort the idol couple.
.ᐟ Disliked
- Some of the comedy just doesn't hit for me, most of it comes out unfunny/cringe.
- Earth looks older in the flashback?
- So many things happening.
- Had too much focus on other love interests in the starting episodes.
- Boss was already rejected yet still kept going, same goes to Ten.
- There are some scenes/characters that are a bit unnecessary. (E.g. The Daughter; what did she even add to the plot aside from the motivation she gives her father?)
I'm quite sad because this series started out well, but after episode 2/3 things just went downhill for me. It felt like there were a lot of random filler scenes just so they could stretch out the series to 12 episodes when in fact all of that, without all the other unnecessary scenes, would be enough to fit 8. I'm still going to finish the series, but unfortunately, I think this is one of the first EM series that just missed.

Not my kind of comedy.
EarthMix did a great job, they are great actors. I wasn't very imressed by a most of the other cast.I am not a big fan of comedy, en this kind of comedy is my least favorite. That boss really creeped me out with his dessillusional and ovbcessive behaviour.
The story was good and the romatic pieces very nice.
I was nice to have seen it, but i will not watch it again.

This could have been so much better
I haven’t watched the original Japanese show nor would I compare “Ossan’s Love Thailand” to it if I had – the Thai version/adaptation is an independent work and needs to be judged as such. The show had a big potential, but only some of it was actually used. The script isn’t terrible, I actually liked how it managed to navigate the main plot through a total of 12 episodes – even if it wasn’t smooth sailing all the way. I do, however, have several issues with it. First of all – why does anyone love Heng? He’s an unlikable character – dumb and clumsy, for a big part of the show also quite selfish, at the same time unable to say “no”. And when I say “dumb”, I don’t mean it as “dumb but cute” – I mean dumb in an obnoxious way. So many flaws in one person and no redeeming qualities; why would anyone fall for this guy remains a mystery to me. Mo is a far better character, but I did not understand his hesitation and self-doubt, him stepping back instead of going forward. Other script-related issues include: break-up of Heng and Mo (break-ups generally solve no problems and BL’s use them to generate drama – here the purpose of the break-up eludes me), time jump in ep. 11 (barely noticeable, which was strange on itself, but nevertheless pointless like almost all time jumps in GMMTV’s BLs) and Heng’s loss of memory in ep. 12.
Tonally the show was all over the place, which I did not appreciate. I liked it when the show was crazy, exaggerated, over the top, even absurd, when it did unexpected things – and contrasted it with some characters (usually Mo) getting thrown into that whirlwind. Heng’s and Mo’s “last date” and engagement in ep. 12 – with performance of the show’s title song, dancing and everything else was colorful, surreal and immensely enjoyable; if the show kept this tone consistently, it would be much better. Instead the writers decided to also include toned-down, more traditional BL elements – which made the show less satisfying to watch.
As for the performances, both Krit and Mix were great. Krit did a lot to make Kongdech human, likeable and relatable, showcasing proper acting rarely seen in BLs. Mix gave a solid performance, doing what I like a lot: elevating an underwritten character. The very few intense interactions of Kongdech and Mo, them arguing over Heng, were delightful. Earth’s performance was a mixed bag: I disliked it’s comedic, goofy side (which, unfortunately, made up a majority of Heng’s character), but every time Heng got serious or sad, Earth was doing a good job. Heng’s and Mo’s break-up scene, while unnecessary, gave Earth a rare opportunity to outperform Mix – a seldom feat indeed.
“Ossan’s Love Thailand” is not the strongest entry on the EarthMix list of accomplishments – inferior to both ATOTS and “Moonlight Chicken”. Still, it’s worth watching.

Straight up slapstick comedy…not for everyone but I loved every minute if it.
I know I’m late to this, but my goodness… this has got to be the funniest Thai BL I’ve watched to date. And I’ve been an avid watcher for more than a decade.I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as I did watching this. It was so refreshing seeing both actors play a role that’s so different to their usual stuff. Especially Earth.
That said, I really didn’t get what Mo meant when he said he’s used to getting the “dirty look” and didn’t want Heng to get the same. My only guess is that it’s a cultural thing I don’t fully understand.
Overall, I really liked how they wrapped everything up, but I’ll always side-eye the Boss. I just don’t understand how many hints he needed to get that Heng was never into him.

Love, love with all your heart. There is no age to stop loving.
This series is a wonderful take on the premise of ossan's love. Without changing most of the major things, they actually improved on some of the shortcomings of the original work. This main tone of this series is comedy, so if you can't appreciate how some things seem comical in an out-of-proportion sense, maybe you will not appreciate how amazing this series is.
Let me tell you, although Heng starts off as a character that has you questioning why anyone would like him, he does improve overtime.
My fav character has to be the boss, like he is such a devote character but also so mature. His idea of devotion is not limited to being possessive, he actually understands it beyond mere words and actions even. Most importantly, he isn't some perfect person, he has his moments of weakness and flaws, but in the end he still does i tall. For thristy fans, this man is def daddy material. But just because he is my fav doesn't mean I dont like other characters, I love most of the characters in this series, and those I don't love are characters I like but not as strongly.
I didn't expect Earth to pull of this particular character as well as he did. And Mix was the perfect pick for Mo.
For those of you who don't know, Ossan's love is not a single release japanese series. There are two versions of it. The first version could be considered a prototype which received much love so they made a more complete version of it, and this complete version even got a 2nd season. But there were several aspects of that show which didn't help it. Compared to that, I appreciate this thai version more. A major change is that they gave the boss a daughter instead of a wife he has stopped loving. And not just that he had a daughter but he has a good relationship with her which is developed beautifully throughout the series. The fact that his wife has passed away, and he no longer has a lover, also explains better why he was affected by Heng's kindness and consideration despite the fact that Heng is such a mess. All in all, I loved the boss and his daughter greatly in this version
Next Chicha's character was also properly depicted in this version compared to the japanese one (maybe its just how exaggerated her acting direction was in that one that i disliked her) In this one you actually understand her and feel for her, instead of thinking damn she is so annoying.
Most of all, I loved the dynamic of Heng and Mo in this series. The gradual growth of their relationship and especially Heng's realizations about his feelings for Mo.
BRO I DID NOT EXPECT OU-NOI, I SWEAR. it was amazing and made me snort so hard i almost got noodles down the wrong tract.
ALSO DONT LET ME BE THE ONLY ONE WHO WANTED TEN X BOSS LIKE BROOOO.
I will say the last 3 episodes have a lot of plot and kdrama level of drama situations that was stuffed into a short part of the series, I wish they had done this plot in a separate season, but they kinda pushed it into one. BUT THEY ARE STILL SOME OF THE FUNNIEST EPISODES OKAY. And the show ends well!
All in all after watching 1000 series about some 20+ year olds acting like highschoolers and fresh highschool graduates acting like CEOs, this series is a breath of fresh air. And believe it or not, most of us know many Heng's irl or are just like Heng ourselves in some ways.

I’ve rewatched this episode many times!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode! I was laughing the whole time while watching. Earth portrayed the character ‘Heng’ perfectly, and I honestly can’t imagine any other actor as ‘Kongdech’ aside from P’Shahkrit. Mix as ‘Momo’ is incredibly handsome, and he is very expressive with his eyes. The acting is top-notch. Overall, congratulations to the Ossan’s Love Thailand team! The production team did a really great job.Was this review helpful to you?
Fresh air to gmmtv bl series
I love everything about this series, from the acting until the plot so far. I know they changed it from the original but imo, that's for the best especially for Thai culture in 2025. This version really give the background story why Momo (Maki) fell in love with Heng (Haruta). Ngl I miss EarthMix actor so bad and they nailed it as HengMomo. I can't wait to watch ep 2!Was this review helpful to you?

Choko - san?????
I still can't believe that they excluded Kurosawa's (boss) wife in this version, she was perfect from beginning to end of the original. And the Japanese tv said that Ossan's love return was the sequence of the Thai version, it doesn't make sense shes in the sequence but not in the Thai version. ASIDE FROM THAT, EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!!!! SEEING EARTH DO A SILLY CHARACTER IS REALLY FUNNY!! I LOOOOVE OSSAN'S LOVE WITH ALL MY HEART ♡♡♡♡Was this review helpful to you?

Was this review helpful to you?

O Exagero do Cômico
