Fun and Charming, better than the Japanese original
Ossan's Love Thailand is a Thai adaptation of the Japanese series, centered around a middle-aged boss who falls in love with a younger employee at his office. However, he faces competition from the employee’s colleague, who also confesses his love for the same person. The show mixes comedy, romance, and a touch of silliness, delivering a light-hearted experience with some unexpected moments.Overall, Ossan's Love Thailand is an entertaining and fun series. While it can be a bit cheesy at times, it’s hard not to enjoy the charm of the characters and the situations they find themselves in. Having watched the original Japanese version, I can confidently say the Thai adaptation is much more enjoyable and engaging. The lead actors bring a lot of energy and chemistry to their roles. Earth Pirapat Watthanasetsiri's portrayal of a more awkward, silly and clumsy character is a interesting contrast to his usual serious roles,.
The show has its share of silly moments, but they don’t detract from the overall appeal. One of the standout aspects is the music, especially the theme song, which fits the tone perfectly and adds to the fun vibe. The musical elements, though unexpected, were surprisingly well-integrated into the storyline.
That said, the show isn’t without its flaws. Some parts can feel a bit predictable, and the humor might not be for everyone. However, it remains a charming and enjoyable watch for anyone looking for a light comedy.

Happy to see my boys again, but not all that thrill with the end product of this show
DisclaimerWhat I am writing here are my views and what I personally thought about this series. Some of you may not like it. That does not give you the right to try to come at me with your opinions on why this series should get a better score and why it is better than I think it is. You have your own opinions, and I have mine. Kindly resepct that.
Earth and Mix are back! And, in all honesty, I don't know how to feel about this series. I will say these few things, though. I have NEVER watched the original (Japanese version) of this series. I have, however, watched the Hong Kong version some years ago. But...I don't recall anything about the Hong Kong version, except for the first episode (but I guess that I liked it, as I did give that series an 8). Now, with all of this against me, I turned to watch this series.
I will say that when Earth and Mix (and their family members) were together, sharing the screentime, I thoroughly enjoyed the series then. I also enjoyed it when Meow and Thua-ngok made their appearances in the series, be it with each other or with other actors. I especially loved seeing the guest appearances of First and Khaotung as Alone and Kaitong, as they showed me that they can act silly as well as serious too. I, of course, LOVED the music (this was, in my opinion, one of the best things about this series).
What did I not like? Everything else. I really had a love/hate relationship with their boss, Kongdech, with me finally appreciating him in the end. I was also not a fan of the other supporting characters – especially Chica (I don't know why; I just don't like her). When these other characters were there, I just kind of zoned out from watching this series. So, I'm not even mad that the score is currently below 8 at 7.8, because while Earth and Mix delivered in this series, something was missing from this series to just be 8 and above for me.

Ossan's Love (I can't belive it worked)
NOTE: I haven't seen the original work.Heng (Earth Pirapat), a real estate consultant who has trouble saying no, finds himself in a love triangle after discovering that Kongdech (Kirt Shahkrit), his boss, is in love with him, and Mo (Mix Sahaphap), an old friend who has returned to his daily life, also shows feelings for Heng. Now Heng finds himself in a routine where both try to win him over, Mo lives with him, and Kongdech is his boss.
I will be honest in giving my verdict on this series. I liked it, for its purpose and considering the adaptation of a Japanese work, I really believe that it fulfilled its role within what it promised. This includes the absurd situations that the characters went through, among haunted houses and possessed characters. There are situations that could easily be resolved by normal people (which is not the case for anyone in this series), and moments that end up dragging on, but honestly, in the context of the series itself, it is appropriate. The series is exaggerated and has a huge comedic element; after all, it is based on slapstick comedy.
I have been following EarthMix's work for a while, and I am genuinely happy to see how both of them played these roles. It would have been much easier for Earth to be Mo and Mix to be Heng, theoretically that is the custom, but I was happy to see that in this series it was different.
Now, talking about the characters themselves. I will limit myself to talking about the three protagonists, the ones who made the series work.
Heng had some issues in his childhood; there is no other explanation for not only his difficulty in saying no, but also the way he presents himself as a dysfunctional adult in his early 30s. He doesn't know how to cope without his mother, he doesn't know how to rely on anything but luck for most things, he always looks for someone to depend on, first his mother, then Mo, and when they broke up, his boss.
Note²: I will not discuss the way Mo was treated by Heng in front of his mother, because I know myself and I know that I will hurt the integrity of the character.
The boss is another who has a very serious degree of selfishness in the area of love. I won't extend this to other areas, as he honestly seems like a good boss, a good father, and a good friend. But asking Heng to marry him more than once, insisting on it until the end of the series, and still engaging in this melodrama every time he was rejected while he KNEW that the boy didn't like him, was a level of desire to satisfy his own needs and only that, which was ENORMOUS, and particularly made me uncomfortable. The ending even tried to redeem the character, but after everything that happened, putting Mo in a carriage and carrying the ring to Heng does not erase all the inconveniences that the Boss (who was called the boss throughout the series) made not only the characters but also the viewers go through.
Mo is the only one who seems to have real problems and concerns. Lack of self-esteem is a complicated problem, but it is recurrent and even normal in today's society. His concerns throughout the narrative are valid, and even against his will, he did what he thought was right. Not that I think it was the best choice, I also think he needs to go to therapy. But at this point, who doesn't?
Ossan's Love is a lighthearted series for those who want to watch something that doesn't require too much thought and just want to stop thinking and laugh. The songs are catchy, and the series presents absurd scenarios that end up being funny.

A fun spin on a beloved series
I decided to watch the original series when this was announced and instantly fell in love with Ossan’s Love and the chaos every episode brought. I kinda felt like the thai version never could live up to the expectations, but I was surprised! It had a different vibe, but it came from the same soul! The humour was different, that was something I was prepared for, but it kinda worked in this case. Earth and Mix fit their roles so well, I loved seeing them try out another genre and I think they did great in this.
Even if Ossan’s Love JP will always have a special place in my heart this version can also share that space.

Earth and Mix playing themselves
Let me just say I didn't like the OG Japanese version of this show at all. I consider the Thai one a big improvement. This is not the type of BL I rewatch, but a solid, enjoyable show while it lasted. Huge advantage for this drama was how it showcased Earth's and Mix's versatility as actors.I knew what I was getting into plot-wise, so I really appreciated how they modernized and / or toned down some dialog or plot elements due to cultural differences. P'Krit as Kongdech, aka the boss, did everything in his power to make his character endearing. I really admire a seasoned, well-known actor being involved in this project. The questionable workplace behavior aside, some of his scenes were pure comedy gold. Overall impression is still very much positive.
That being said, I think this show would benefit from being a little bit shorter—10 episodes would suffice to tell the same story in a more concise way.
As for the music, the Suckling song will forever be on my playlist.

Strong leads, lacking refinement
Ossan's Love Thailand is a series that delivers a modern Thai adaptation of a classic Japanese work. The lead actors have been commended for their strong performances and versatility. While the series opens with memorable comedic moments, some reviewers noted that the humor became repetitive as the show progressed. Several viewers also commented that the pacing of certain storylines felt rushed and that some plotlines were overly simplified. Some suggested that the series would benefit from a shorter run and greater focus on character development. The unique soundtrack received positive feedback. In summary, although the series introduced welcome updates and improvements, further refinement in production and editing would be necessary to elevate it to the same standard as the original. Our server Poll resulted in an overall average score of 7/10.

Nevertheless you tried
As someone who watched and loved the original ossan love (Japan) multiple times, im sad to say nothing can top the original.Erth/mix are good actors, and this one had , my favourite pair in the world of Bl: First/khao but even that could not connect with this one.
This one is detached with reality, more than the original, and there is no originality in this one.
Buuut all actors did a very good job, they nailed their characters, is just that if you were fun of the original you can't connect with this one.
PS: sadly in this one, the chemistry between the main leads Heng/ Mo ,was not there it was just dry ,sad an painful to watch their intimate moments.
You can not compare to the daunting moments of Haruta /Maki

Lowkey Toxic Comedy, Still Enjoyable
Storyline 5/10I'm always aware it is a pure comedy (which is not my cup of tea), but to be honest, the plot is not interesting and seems problematic from the beginning. The boss is chasing after his subordinate and trying to compete with another subordinate to win his heart? WTH? Boss-employee relationships are never romantic in any situation because the imbalance of power is no joke. I like the dramatic storyline between Heng and Mo, but the way they reconcile is so shallow that it makes the overall story uninspiring and more annoying.
Characters 3/10
The main characters were lowkey problematic, but no development. Boss is creepy; Heng is a yes man; and Mo is overly insecure.
Boss is a stalker and manipulator, inserting himself into in Heng's personal life during his most vulnerable moments after a heartbreak to the point of manipulating Heng into marrying him even though he knows Heng doesn't have any feeling for him. Mo is so insecure that he never fights against anything for Heng nor himself. It's annoying he doesn't even realize how much he's hurting Heng. And Heng, this character is the most frustrating for me because he is always pleasing people and never thinking about the consequences. People like Heng seem sweet and lovable but actually they are most likely to cause endless problems in a relationship because they always go with the flow and never think anything through.
However, I would say these problematic characters were well-written because we often meet people with these undesirable traits in real life. It's just a pity that in the end I didn't feel the characters developed in any way.
Acting 9/10
As someone who loves Earthmix, I'm happy they got different roles compared to most GMMTV actors who usually get the same roles. Comedy is also a very difficult genre for most actors. Both Earthmix and Shakrit acted very well. They made the characters so realistic that it really annoyed me. If their acting was bad, I wouldn't be this frustrated with the characters. At least I'm sure Earthmix's acting skills are ready for Only Friends Dream On.
Production 9/10
BLs without product placement?? GMMTV?? The most amazing thing about this series is that there is no product placement at all (only one plushie). Plus, many of the filming locations are far from Bangkok and of course, it must be well-funded, not including the cost of Shakrit, a famous Thai actor. I'm quite sure GMMTV got the budget from the producer from Japan. There's no way this company would fund this much in a comedy.
End of my review, I'm so happy the GMMTV 2025 lineup does not include any more remakes and I can't wait to see Earthmix in Only Friends Dream On!

CUTE IDEA BUT CRINGE EXECUTION
I didn’t watch the Japanese version of Ossan’s Love since I’m more into Thai BLs, but I did check out a few scenes and honestly, it didn’t feel as cringey as the Thai version. Right from the start, I found Earth’s acting a bit too much. It just didn’t land for me, and the humor felt forced. No hate, I actually love Earth in A Tale of Thousand Stars, but I think this role didn’t suit him. Maybe I’m just used to his more serious, emotional characters. Comedy might not be his strong suit, sorry Earth, haha!As for Mix, his acting wasn’t terrible, just kind of flat. I dropped the series around episode 10 because I couldn’t really get into it anymore.
Would I finish the series? Maybe.. if I completely run out of shows to watch. But for now, there are way better BLs out there. This one’s at the bottom of my watchlist.

One of the Cutest Funniest gmmtv series
Yall I am used to EarthMix always being so angsty that this series surprises me sooo much! Earth is sooo effortless Funny as Heng and Mix as Momo is just killing me with cuteness! And Boss is soooo attractive like!!! The comedic timing of everyone is absolutely genius! (and i am enjoying MixEarth lol) 😂Was this review helpful to you?
Failed remake
The great thing about the original Japanese version is that it's absurd and excessive all the time. This makes it very funny. The Thai remake fails to capture this humor, leaving us with a bland and often unfunny romantic comedy. The scenes are not very inventive. The absurdity becomes a little crazy, and the whole thing is wrapped up in a “cute and cuddly” packaging that has no interest whatsoever.
To make matters worse, Earth and Mix are perhaps not the best choice for this type of role, which is far removed from what they usually play. They don't look very comfortable.
I ended up watching episode 8 with half the scenes skipped. A sign to give up. What a pity, I really liked the Japanese version!

Gotta leave Heng hanging cause this is just too boring to continue watching
This is the loudest show GMM has ever produced next to their other loud shows. I need the interns to stop with the sound effects and adding music while they speak every single line. Anyways, I expected this to get better after the initial 2 episodes (iykyk for anyone who saw my comment), but it went downhill for me. It felt like someone (me) was torturing me to watch it. This is gonna be my final take on it.𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 & 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
This adaptation of the Japanese version falls short of the story that was already established. Most scenes felt predictable so there wasn't any anticipation to make it through certain parts. While melodrama is a good part of comedic story telling, this felt cringe. Cringe isn't bad oftentimes, but whatever was being done here didn't bring grace to the cringe like it's supposed to. I felt as if there was a disconnect between the director's vision of who Heng were supposed to be vs what the actor could do for the character. I think Earth was trying to replicate who Haruta was instead of making his own version of Haruta. This made it so difficult to watch because I know Earth can do a lot better. Earth has the ability to make his characters his own, but this one felt like bad mimic of Haruta. Compared to how Earth played Heng, I have no notes for Mixx who plays Mo. He feels like what Mo should be. I also don't have any problems with the actor who plays the boss except the fact that he's too young looking. I'd rather see a old man. Though, I don't like how they approach showcasing the boss courting Heng. I know the story itself is about this whole thing mainly, but the Thai version keeps stretching it. Instead of spreading out how the boss courts Heng, it feels like every episodes, it's just one thing after the other to the point it's predictable what's going to happen. Boss pursues and Heng doesn't really explicitly say no nor does his discomfort gets noticed by the boss. Overall, considering there's 12 episodes, they could've made this fast paced instead of it feeling so repetitive.
Final thoughts:
- Still stupid that they took out the older woman wife role. The daughter added nothing to the story that the wife couldn't have added. To the folks who say having this older woman role is overdone and regressive, I say give me a break.
- I can't say that I enjoyed the comedy. It wasn't for me, but this isn't because I'm an international viewer. Comedy transcends language and culture and I have watched many Thai series/movies/programs that made me laugh. The type of comedy that this series was trying to do was a little bit too on the nose and didn't leave any space for wit. Any chuckles it got out of me was cause of how ridiculous some parts just feel.
- I hope EarthMix either separately or together get to be in a better series, maybe even a comedy series.
People who can watch badly done shows can watch this in its entirety. I usually can too, but this one is so loud to even put on in the background. I feel crazy cause of how much sound there is. There was nothing earth shattering about this series to really promote. Kudos to everyone who enjoyed it! Mad respect for y'all.
