This is how you do a remake!
This was so much fun!! From the first notes of the theme song on the first episode (this EPIC theme song) you know this will be a Ride (capital R).The story is not too deep, but with plenty of twists and turns to either lol or yell at the screen in frustration. How dense can a person be? Heng is utterly clueless about, well, everything. His Boss is the perfect 2ML. Sweet, caring, forgiving. I felt so bad for him and wish he'll meet his prince someday. Mo is a treasure forgiving Heng and not eating his shoes in anger. Their love is sweet and our EarthMixx dreamteam is overflowing with chemistry.
Comical BL is not my favorite BL subgenre but if they're this well made, with well dosed puns, situations and acting, I'm absolutely sold.
The OST is fantastic, I got a smile on my face and swayed along as soon as Earth started yelling. This is ultimate feelgood!

EARTHMIX VERSATILE ACTOR
This series genuinely transformed my entire week, turning what used to be a mundane Monday into a burst of pure happiness that I eagerly anticipate as the weekend winds down. I can’t express how much joy it brings me—there’s something magical about settling in, knowing I’m about to dive into a story that lifts my spirits and keeps me smiling long after the credits roll. I wholeheartedly urge you to give it a watch because it’s an experience worth having, especially if you haven’t yet witnessed the brilliance of Earth Mix on screen. These two incredible actors—Earth Pirapat and Mixxiw, I presume, given their iconic pairing—consistently deliver performances that feel fresh and exciting, no matter the role. With every new series they take on, they manage to unveil completely distinct characters, each one crafted with such depth and authenticity that you’d swear they’ve never played anything like it before. And trust me, they absolutely nail it every single time, hitting every emotional beat with precision and charm. What’s even more remarkable is their constant evolution. They don’t just rest on their laurels; they push themselves further, refining their craft and bringing something new to the table with each project. It’s inspiring to see that kind of dedication, and it’s a huge part of why I’m so hooked. Their improvement is palpable—you can feel the passion they pour into their work, and it makes every episode a delight. So please, do yourself a favor and check it out. Whether it’s the storytelling, their chemistry, or just the sheer fun of it all, this series has a way of making Mondays feel like a gift. You won’t regret it!

I usually don’t go for remake dramas, but I decided to give this one a chance because of P’Earth and P’Mix. Their characters in this drama are quite different from their usual roles. It was a delight to see P’Earth playing such a bubbly character, and P’Krit (Kongdech, the boss) absolutely nailed his role—I loved his character! While I enjoyed the hilarious chemistry between him and Heng, I also couldn’t help but low-key ship Kongdech and Ten and praying that they would end up together. If you're in the mood for something chaotic and fun, this drama is definitely worth checking out. Was this review helpful to you?

Feelings and how to express them, the Show
let's get something out of the way first before I review it: yes I'm biased because I love EarthMix as a pairing. no, I don't care. That's my emotional support pairing, leave me alone.okay, this show is much more than just a romantic comedy. it's about feelings and how to properly express them. every conflict could be solved through communication. then why don't they communicate? cause they have to learn how to do it! they have to grow and develop over the course of this show and I think they do a great job showing that growth. showing Mo becoming more pro-active in pursuing Heng, showing Heng learning to be open and more mature etc.
and yes at first I did think the amnesia arc would basically make all that development null and void, but I think it added more. I think that was the final push Heng needed to truly realise what he wanted, and Kongdech getting over his crush at the end is played realistically and heartwarmingly. Everyone was in top form and the comedic timing was something to behold. Everything played perfectly into each scenario and the show never shied away from going into the absurd which I'm happy for. Ossan's love Thai is a feel good show about how to be open about your emotions and the consequences of not communicating openly with the ones you care about, wrapped up in a lovely happy ending. I'm sad to see it go.
Also Heng is so ADHD coded. I'm surprised no one else seems to have pointed it out.

What a waste!
First, I'm a big fan of EarthMix. And while Heng was a lame-brained immature, and happless character, I did enjoy seeing Earth in a silly, cute, comedic role. He aced it. It was a nice switch-up for him. Mix, well, not so much. HIs character was a self-pitying , depressive sort of guy. Mix did a pretty good job in portraying Mo, but not a role that fits his persona. He just moped around for the entire series feeling bad about himself and bemoaning the fact that he was gay and convinced that he alone would destroy Heng's life by loving and being with him. Making bad decisions, crying about it, and sticking with them even though it was destryoing his happiness. Come on, buck and be a little assertive, boy.And then there was the story line. What a waste. Insipid, bland, poorly written. Like a bad high school drama production. And the amnesia thing in Ep 11 was a total insult to the viewers. Like the directors had to come up with something "funny" to drag out the series into 12 episodes. Well, it wasn't funny. It was disconnected, irrational, and stupid. Honestly, I couldn't wait for it to end and fast-forwarded through Ep 11-12 to make sure EarthMix ended up together. (Which everyone knew they would). And what was with that last musical/dance number just before they got married??? Just plain bad. Cheesy choreography, bad camera work, silly music. I love Earth but the boy sure does not have any moves. And then jump into a wedding that, I guess, someone had pre-planned?? Even though there was almost no character or plot development that built up to a marriage. Lame.
The cinematography was cheap and not very artistic at all. The supporting cast did as good a job as possible considering the plot and the writing. And Boss was just a pain creep. Guess he didn't know about something called HR in the workplace or sexual harassment. Not dissing the actor, but the character just could not take no for an answer. I found the character sketchy, offensive, and plain unlikeable.
And now we have My Golden Blood airing. I'm hoping that JossGawin don't get pulled won the same unprofessional and unlikeable rabbit hole that EarthMix did.

Fun and Charming, better than the Japanese original
Ossan's Love Thailand is a Thai adaptation of the Japanese series, centered around a middle-aged boss who falls in love with a younger employee at his office. However, he faces competition from the employee’s colleague, who also confesses his love for the same person. The show mixes comedy, romance, and a touch of silliness, delivering a light-hearted experience with some unexpected moments.Overall, Ossan's Love Thailand is an entertaining and fun series. While it can be a bit cheesy at times, it’s hard not to enjoy the charm of the characters and the situations they find themselves in. Having watched the original Japanese version, I can confidently say the Thai adaptation is much more enjoyable and engaging. The lead actors bring a lot of energy and chemistry to their roles. Earth Pirapat Watthanasetsiri's portrayal of a more awkward, silly and clumsy character is a interesting contrast to his usual serious roles,.
The show has its share of silly moments, but they don’t detract from the overall appeal. One of the standout aspects is the music, especially the theme song, which fits the tone perfectly and adds to the fun vibe. The musical elements, though unexpected, were surprisingly well-integrated into the storyline.
That said, the show isn’t without its flaws. Some parts can feel a bit predictable, and the humor might not be for everyone. However, it remains a charming and enjoyable watch for anyone looking for a light comedy.

Happy to see my boys again, but not all that thrill with the end product of this show
DisclaimerWhat I am writing here are my views and what I personally thought about this series. Some of you may not like it. That does not give you the right to try to come at me with your opinions on why this series should get a better score and why it is better than I think it is. You have your own opinions, and I have mine. Kindly resepct that.
Earth and Mix are back! And, in all honesty, I don't know how to feel about this series. I will say these few things, though. I have NEVER watched the original (Japanese version) of this series. I have, however, watched the Hong Kong version some years ago. But...I don't recall anything about the Hong Kong version, except for the first episode (but I guess that I liked it, as I did give that series an 8). Now, with all of this against me, I turned to watch this series.
I will say that when Earth and Mix (and their family members) were together, sharing the screentime, I thoroughly enjoyed the series then. I also enjoyed it when Meow and Thua-ngok made their appearances in the series, be it with each other or with other actors. I especially loved seeing the guest appearances of First and Khaotung as Alone and Kaitong, as they showed me that they can act silly as well as serious too. I, of course, LOVED the music (this was, in my opinion, one of the best things about this series).
What did I not like? Everything else. I really had a love/hate relationship with their boss, Kongdech, with me finally appreciating him in the end. I was also not a fan of the other supporting characters – especially Chica (I don't know why; I just don't like her). When these other characters were there, I just kind of zoned out from watching this series. So, I'm not even mad that the score is currently below 8 at 7.8, because while Earth and Mix delivered in this series, something was missing from this series to just be 8 and above for me.

A fun spin on a beloved series
I decided to watch the original series when this was announced and instantly fell in love with Ossan’s Love and the chaos every episode brought. I kinda felt like the thai version never could live up to the expectations, but I was surprised! It had a different vibe, but it came from the same soul! The humour was different, that was something I was prepared for, but it kinda worked in this case. Earth and Mix fit their roles so well, I loved seeing them try out another genre and I think they did great in this.
Even if Ossan’s Love JP will always have a special place in my heart this version can also share that space.

Earth and Mix playing themselves
Let me just say I didn't like the OG Japanese version of this show at all. I consider the Thai one a big improvement. This is not the type of BL I rewatch, but a solid, enjoyable show while it lasted. Huge advantage for this drama was how it showcased Earth's and Mix's versatility as actors.I knew what I was getting into plot-wise, so I really appreciated how they modernized and / or toned down some dialog or plot elements due to cultural differences. P'Krit as Kongdech, aka the boss, did everything in his power to make his character endearing. I really admire a seasoned, well-known actor being involved in this project. The questionable workplace behavior aside, some of his scenes were pure comedy gold. Overall impression is still very much positive.
That being said, I think this show would benefit from being a little bit shorter—10 episodes would suffice to tell the same story in a more concise way.
As for the music, the Suckling song will forever be on my playlist.

Lowkey Toxic Comedy, Still Enjoyable
Storyline 5/10I'm always aware it is a pure comedy (which is not my cup of tea), but to be honest, the plot is not interesting and seems problematic from the beginning. The boss is chasing after his subordinate and trying to compete with another subordinate to win his heart? WTH? Boss-employee relationships are never romantic in any situation because the imbalance of power is no joke. I like the dramatic storyline between Heng and Mo, but the way they reconcile is so shallow that it makes the overall story uninspiring and more annoying.
Characters 3/10
The main characters were lowkey problematic, but no development. Boss is creepy; Heng is a yes man; and Mo is overly insecure.
Boss is a stalker and manipulator, inserting himself into in Heng's personal life during his most vulnerable moments after a heartbreak to the point of manipulating Heng into marrying him even though he knows Heng doesn't have any feeling for him. Mo is so insecure that he never fights against anything for Heng nor himself. It's annoying he doesn't even realize how much he's hurting Heng. And Heng, this character is the most frustrating for me because he is always pleasing people and never thinking about the consequences. People like Heng seem sweet and lovable but actually they are most likely to cause endless problems in a relationship because they always go with the flow and never think anything through.
However, I would say these problematic characters were well-written because we often meet people with these undesirable traits in real life. It's just a pity that in the end I didn't feel the characters developed in any way.
Acting 9/10
As someone who loves Earthmix, I'm happy they got different roles compared to most GMMTV actors who usually get the same roles. Comedy is also a very difficult genre for most actors. Both Earthmix and Shakrit acted very well. They made the characters so realistic that it really annoyed me. If their acting was bad, I wouldn't be this frustrated with the characters. At least I'm sure Earthmix's acting skills are ready for Only Friends Dream On.
Production 9/10
BLs without product placement?? GMMTV?? The most amazing thing about this series is that there is no product placement at all (only one plushie). Plus, many of the filming locations are far from Bangkok and of course, it must be well-funded, not including the cost of Shakrit, a famous Thai actor. I'm quite sure GMMTV got the budget from the producer from Japan. There's no way this company would fund this much in a comedy.
End of my review, I'm so happy the GMMTV 2025 lineup does not include any more remakes and I can't wait to see Earthmix in Only Friends Dream On!

One of the Cutest Funniest gmmtv series

And Boss is soooo attractive like!!! The comedic timing of everyone is absolutely genius! (and i am enjoying MixEarth lol) 😂Was this review helpful to you?

Failed remake
The great thing about the original Japanese version is that it's absurd and excessive all the time. This makes it very funny. The Thai remake fails to capture this humor, leaving us with a bland and often unfunny romantic comedy. The scenes are not very inventive. The absurdity becomes a little crazy, and the whole thing is wrapped up in a “cute and cuddly” packaging that has no interest whatsoever.
To make matters worse, Earth and Mix are perhaps not the best choice for this type of role, which is far removed from what they usually play. They don't look very comfortable.
I ended up watching episode 8 with half the scenes skipped. A sign to give up. What a pity, I really liked the Japanese version!
