Leap into this series!!!

I placed spoilers at the end of this review.

This was an incredible series, but I’m a little bias because I love stories with a supernatural theme. The first episode did a great job grabbing my attention to draw me into the story. The script also did a great job introducing each character. Although the script has some weak aspects, they are minor and didn’t stop me from enjoying it. The storyline was interesting from beginning to end. The relationship development between all of the main characters was very heartwarming and had a nice, even pace. Overall, the acting was great. However, some excelled more than the others. The production team did a great job with the editing. There were many flashback scenes of the previous leap days, but they were clearly marked to prevent any confusion. The CGI/special effects were incredible and had visually stunning cinematography.

Random Notes:

The location used for Ozone and Day’s house was also used in the movie “My Boo” (Joe’s house), “Bake Me Please” series (Peace’s house), “Shadow” series (Dan’s childhood home), “Sing Again” series (Piano’s childhood home), “Mama Gogo” series (Annie’s house), and “21 Days Theory” series (Q’s house). Yes, I’m a proud nerd about knowing this kind of stuff.

******Potential Spoiler Alert******

While this had a bittersweet ending, it made sense and fit in with the story plot. I would rather have this then a random happy ending that derailed from the storyline. However, there is a ray of hope at the end of the last episode.

If you like twists and turns, this drama is best for you

I lost hope on Thai dramas they just come up with similar stories but I didn't expect a random drama to steal my heart, the cast the storytelling, the plot and the base storyline and everything is just on point. The start of the drama may not seem so special but as you keep up with it you get to know the story. the science fiction adds some more interesting aspects to the drama and the actual ending cannot be predicted. I deeply recommend watching this drama, it's not a complete bl, it's just a suggestive bl with a straight couple too, the way it shows us the story and intense situation from 2 people's lives, it's just fantastic

You might skip this, you might not — but you should definitely watch Dark.

Now, I have to say it: there’s more logic in a story about a killer robot who watches soap operas than in this. Sure, I know it’s fiction, and I could treat it like fiction… but come on — how many killer robots do you know personally?Anyway, I’ll leave Murderbot out of this and focus on the series at hand.
I actually liked it at first — I even wrote a bunch of positive comments. I was hopeful, naive, full of trust. And then the last few episodes hit…
My short answer: it’s just not good.
The long version? See below:
(I'm going to keep this short and cute because I can already feel the rant review from kilometers away.)
* The screenwriter seems confused. Instead of accepting that this is a thriller with sci-fi elements, she tries to cram in social commentary, romance, and... space art. The stars speak. Which stars? Unclear. Maybe Mercury was in retrograde when the script was finalized.
* The timeline jumps back and forth with no warning. What year is it? How much time has passed? Give us something — anything — to hold onto.
* It tries to be more complex than it really is. And there I am, convinced there’s some profound truth beneath it all. Like Lost or Devs (time loops, hidden meanings, cryptic storytelling)… but there’s nothing there.
* The show is great at raising questions without offering a single answer. It covers up plot holes and confusion by piling on more mystery.
* A great premise and decent acting are wasted on an incoherent plot. Mysterious elements are added for shock value, but the mystery is never explained.
*There has to be some deeper meaning behind all of it, right? Right?! Or is it just bad luck?
* I did love that Dream's is ace — but it’s such a small part, it only made me smile a little. Still, I have to give her credit — she delivered raw emotion and sincerity like a pro… even while surrounded by plot twists that felt like they were written during a caffeine crash.
* There were also so many odd, cringe-worthy moments that I can’t really get into here without spoiling major plot points — but yeah, episode after episode of that kind of thing gets old fast.

The truth is, I dropped it. But then I told myself: “Omini, just three more episodes — don’t you want to see how it ends?”
It would be funny if it weren’t so sad. I feel like Experiment 626, but without the aloha or the Hawaiian roller coaster ride.
All that said — I really don’t recommend this series to anyone.
I get that some people liked it (I checked the reviews and comments), but with so many great shows out there… why waste your time on this one?

Got any great mystery/thriller recommendations? I'd love to hear them!

High Expectations, Higher Reality

A fantastic thriller drama that masterfully blends its dark undertones with moments of comedy that don't feel irrelevant or forced, but rather uplift the atmosphere and are naturally incorporated into the story. The series is also well-produced and well-written, maintaining a steady pace without becoming boring or drawn out. Despite its genre, the show is filled with a lot of heart and depth, especially through the characters of Ozone and Day—played by Gun and Pond respectively.

As for the acting itself, I don't have enough words to praise Gun Atthaphan for his brilliant performance in the series. He was exceptional, portraying a really difficult character and setting the bar too high once again with his acting skills. The rest of the cast also deserves recognition for their strong portrayals, contributing to the show's overall excellence.

I highly recommend this series to viewers who don't mind angst and tension. It does a great job enticing you till the last minute.

A beautifully paced story, authentic ending with just the right touch of hope.

The first episode did a fantastic job of pulling me into the story right from the start. The script excellently introduced each character, making it easy to connect with them early on.
Let’s start with Pond (Day) and Gun (Ozone)—they were outstanding. For me, these are their best roles yet; they truly outdid themselves. I’m absolutely loving the dynamic between Day and Ozone. Every time they share the screen, I melt. Although they didn’t get along at first due to the leap day conflict, their gradual closeness feels so natural and heartwarming.
Dew (Night) and Pahn (Dream) were also impressive. I knew Dew wouldn’t let me down, and I’m thrilled to see Pahn return in such a fresh and different role. Their chemistry is delightful, and I’m enjoying the growing connection between Dream and Ozone too.
The first 10 episodes expertly built tension and mystery, pacing character development perfectly. With clever hints and engaging storytelling, the series peaked early. Perhaps it would have been better to conclude the series within those 10 episodes rather than stretching it to 12, which may have diluted the impact
The bittersweet ending was poignant and true to the narrative, resonating deeply with the story's themes. I'd much rather have an authentic conclusion like this than a forced happy ending that felt out of place. And I'm grateful for the hint of hope left at the end, adding a layer of complexity to the finale.

PondGun my day anytime

There is a lot to like here.
The show is truly captivating – initially due to its plot and later thanks to good performances.
Furthermore, it is atmospheric and mysterious – due to plot and writing, but also thanks to mostly fitting music (heralded by very strong track used for opening credits) and proper cinematography (including plenty of surprisingly good shots sprinkled throughout the series like little gems).
It is also emotionally engaging – because the stakes are set very clearly and because it (the show) has real heart. This was achieved by decent writing, mostly for the Day-Ozone side of the story (a notable mention for the Night-Dream side is Dream’s phone call with her mother in ep. 12), and – again – very good performances.
"Leap Day" is very good in creating a feeling of hopelessness, of walls closing in, of fighting a faceless and unfathomable dread all alone, of suffocating in an indifferent world, oblivious to ones problems, unable – or maybe even unwilling – to help or sympathize. All these sensations were conveyed masterfully and allowed to highlight the remedies that work, that allow to survive and lead a mostly normal life: determination and support of friends and loved ones.

The cast is small (which I liked) and gave very uneven performances.
I was never a fan of Gun and have criticized Pond’s performances in BLs, calling him stiff, wooden and boring. Here I was very pleasantly surprised by how good they both were. I loved Pond’s Day – strong, determined, honest, straightforward and deeply caring for Ozone, emanating purest warmth while at it. Gun was utterly convincing as Ozone, delivering a complex and difficult performance, very far from a one-note one. Watching both Pond and Gun in "Leap Day" was a treat – the show deserves a good rating for that one aspect alone.
I cannot say the same about neither Dew nor Pahn. Dew gave a subpar, mostly flat performance of an annoying character, who felt unlikable even when he was supposed to be loving and tender. Pahn, whom I have previously seen only once (in "My Love Mix-Up!"), did not impress me with anything; her performance was uninspired and even vexing at times.

The writers mostly did a good job, though at times the show was losing its momentum and felt like dragging for no reason (other than to fill all 12 episodes with something). This is not a critique of all those moments the main characters were walking in circles trying to figure out anything about Leap Day – those moments were necessary and justified. I do, however, believe that some parts of the show, like the lengthy thread of introducing Pon's character (Kit), could have been done differently, preserving the show’s generally good pacing. I have no issues with "Leap Day" leaving us with most questions unanswered and a lot of plot threads leading nowhere/unexplained – all that can be considered part of the show’s mystery aspect. Going a little into spoiler territory I need to voice my biggest complaint regarding the script: Wiwat’s fate. That man should be dead or jailed; instead we see him alive, free and treated with respect.

I mentioned music as an important factor contributing to the show’s atmosphere. While this is the case for most tracks used in "Leap Day", I was not a fan of "อยู่เพื่อรักเธอ" ("Here You Are") sung by "Louis" Thanawin, "Ford" Allan and "Fluke" Nattanon. I like all three of them a lot and have only respect for their work – but do not think that particular song fits this series.

Having said all that I consider "Leap Day" one of those shows where "pros" are so solid and numerous that they clearly outweigh "cons", covering them completely. If you are not convinced by that, just watch it for Pond. It is worth it, the guy can actually act.

Leap Day: The Show That Stays With You

I started watching this series fully expecting a romantic subplot to develop between the main characters by the end.

I'm so glad I was wrong.

I binged the entire thing in one day - didn’t even take breaks while working. I just sat there, devouring episode after episode. The storyline is one of the most intriguing concepts I’ve ever come across. The theme of day and night, of duality and balance, immediately made me think of Yin and Yang - and that’s exactly how the main characters felt. Night was the Yin: reserved, quiet, associated with darkness. Day was the Yang: warm, open, and tied to light. The execution was top-notch. I haven’t felt such a strong emotional connection to main characters in a long time. Their sorrow, fear, and sadness felt like my own - it all spilled off the screen so vividly.

As for the acting - absolutely spot on. Maybe I’m biased because I’m a huge fan of Gun Atthaphan and his talent, but he truly delivered here. As someone who is autistic myself - though I’m high-functioning, unlike Ozone - I still saw so many reflections of my own life in his character. That alone deserves praise. Gun’s portrayal was phenomenal and incredibly nuanced. There were moments when I genuinely forgot he wasn’t autistic - it felt that real. Pond and Dew also completely won me over. As Day and Night, they managed to convey everything they were supposed to, flawlessly. The rest of the cast did a great job too, but to me, Gun, Pond, and Dew were the brightest stars.

Coming back to my initial expectations about a romantic subplot - after watching the series, I believe the main characters are better portrayed separately rather than as a couple. This allows us to see them as two distinct individuals, rather than something meant to merge into one by the end. From start to finish, they exist as opposites, caring about different people and driven by different motivations. The relationships between the characters - especially between Day and Ozone - were deeply moving. Their bond was so powerful, I was often left in tears. The brotherly love and safe space Day created for Ozone touched me in a way that made it feel like he wasn’t just caring for Ozone, but for me too. The way they supported each other was absolutely beautiful. They stood out more than anyone else. No offense to Night and his girlfriend Dream, whose relationship was sweet and full of love, but for me, they were completely overshadowed by Day and Ozone.

As for the plot - great concept, decent execution, though the pacing left something to be desired. Some storylines were dropped too quickly, even though they had real potential to add conflict or depth. I won’t spoil anything, but I’ll just say this: the subplot involving Night, Dr. Wiwat, and the transfer was abandoned too soon in favor of redeeming Night’s character. I found some of Night’s decisions hard to understand, unlike Day, whose motivations were clear from the start and consistently well-written. The ending also felt a bit rushed and confusing - the resolution appeared out of nowhere in the final five minutes, contradicting earlier visions that said day and night had to meet, not separate. Still, it was a gripping and engaging series that hooked me like a fish on a line - and didn’t let go until the credits rolled.

The music and cinematography? Absolutely phenomenal. The costumes, set design - chef’s kiss. Especially the music, which brought the series to life in such a powerful way, perfectly enhancing every moment of tension, fear, joy, and sadness. The intro alone is stuck in my head and won’t leave.

To sum it up: this series is definitely on my rewatch list. Every minute I spent watching it was worth it. I truly hope we get more hidden gems like Leap Day in the future - it was a breath of fresh air and originality, something I, and many others, truly needed.

BRAVO

From the very first series, I was captivated by the plot and the acting! Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat, who plays Ozon in a completely authentic and believable way, deserves special mention.
Unfortunately, this means that the other two main characters, Day and Night, almost take a back seat.
I am really enthusiastic about this series and am happy to give it a big "Bravo"

I'm writing this as I'm manifesting for it to keep being this good, so this score stays till the end

Soooo... Where do I start? This show surprised me in so many ways. Tbh I was worried cuz yk it's a gmmtv horror show and the only times it worked was when the team working on it was perfect. From actors to everyone bts. But when they announced the cast I was sceptical to say the least.

Acting: Pond was the one I was the most worried abt. I fell for him in futs but very quickly I noticed his monotone and small range of facial expressions. When Phuwin was screaming in the scene Palm got shot (-talking abt nlmg) he kept his monotone and it was so frustrating cause Phuwin did so well and made me completely believe him. But OMG did he get better in this show! Idk what happened in the workshop but damn the director and acting coach brought out something different in him. He is so good besides of the second he stared at the fan with wide eyes I was so in. Locked and felt so proud for some reason. Update: Some moments are still stiff and monotone. But he's still better than before.

I know Pahn from mlmu and I know she is good but this sort of character is so far from what I've seen her do and she's new so I was worried but she's incredible. Truly a treasure deserving to be cherished.

I found Dew acting a bit off but we'll see. It feels like he is going for the cool doesn't speak a lot style but in the wrong direction cause sometimes his voice lacks all emotion to the point I feel like I'm watching a children's school play. Update: Didn't get better.

Gun is Gun. I mean I can't say enough how incredible he is and how I love him and how he deserves all the awards in the world for every character even in The Trainee or Cooking Crush even tho they were more romcom. He was the only one I trusted since the beginning.

Story: This is how you make a first ep. It's so good. Good pace and keeps you wanting more. Some questions left for the plot to continue but not too many that you get frustrated. I really like how Day is protective over Ozone.

Update: The script got messy. It's slow paced and they over explain simple things like the viewers are idiots or kids. I mean was it really necessary to say the numbers (that look like numbers) on the drawings are numbers? And then explain it all again in front of Dream and Ozone? Really?
Also wtf was that explanation about the doctor "nobody wants to work on their birthday" duh. But people still do if they have to. Nobody wants to work at all but we have to make money in order to live.

Dream and Ozone feel unnecessary most of the time. Like they are on screen for no reason besides of filling the ep runtime. I'm so disappointed. I deleted the parts of the plot I praised in the first ep cuz they changed it in the upcoming eps and contradicted themselves. (Update ends here)

Directing: 😘🤌 Chef kisses. Again, I feel like he gets something out of the actors that make the characters so real and so intriguing to watch. And just in general, I like everything and love the beauty shots.

Color grading and editing: I don't like how gmmtv uses the same color grading for every horror or mystery show. It's too dull imo. Change it up a bit from time to time otherwise it just gets boring. No problems with editing. Happy to not hear dumb sound effects (edit: ep2: here come the sound effects)

Update: From 9 points to 4. Shame... I really thought this could be good...

Leap Day is a compelling evolution for all four leads. Dew and Pond explore darker emotional thresholds, Gun steps confidently into a more challenging dramatic role, and Pahn brings earnest vulnerability. The premise hooks early, and the production aesthetics match the suspense. While depiction of autism may worry some, early reactions are optimistic.

If you appreciate slow‑burn mysteries punctuated by emotional beats and moral stakes—and want to see GMMTV’s actors stretch into more mature storytelling—Leap Day delivers a tense, intriguing ride.

I was highly anticipating. And I wasn't disappointed.

I feel in Love with Ozone - Not litteraly ofc. He is cute, caring and it's Gun sooo... How to live without Ozone now... Gun really did an amazing job portraying him. But I'm not suprised, he is a great actor - and one of the biggest gem in GMMTV.

I love the relationship, how they all care about each other. Dream and Ozone, Ozone and Day, Day and Night... It was really heartwarming, even if the topic isn't funny. They could show great relationship - Even if Night tried to kill Day buuuuutt let's say he was a little bit confused :)

I was just confused about the end, about the desert. I didn't like it.

But eiter way, all the character were great - even if not perfect - and show deep emotions and personnality.

I hope GMMTV keep releasing show like this. They are my favorite kind of drama. But I don't know if they are making enough money for them to care...

LEAP DAY WTF.

Honestly I never thought I would absolutely SOB while watching a gmmtv series, this is the first, sure I’ve cried but I couldn’t stop sobbing until I saw day’s finger move. I NEED a special episode or two so we can see day with ozone, night, & dream again. I love how the whole time they were talking about night this and night that but in the end it was day. Day and Ozone’s relationship theyre the best brothers ever. I’m sorry but I have to say this again; I SOBBED OVER A GMMTV SERIES. which some of you would be like; “wait what?” In my opinion gmmtv cannot make a serious series, but leap day just proved me wrong. Like, yes, it had funny moments but it would be kind of depressing if it didn’t, but I’m so glad gmmtv finally put this out and I 110% recommend.
