Ahead of the curve
Sonya and Lookmhee combined are the best actresses within the Thai GL space and this showed when Affair was airing. Great storyline, without the main leads having cringe or awkward acting. If you ever want to introduce someone to Thai GLs, I would highly recommend this as this first recommendation. Overall, it was perfectionWas this review helpful to you?
One Of The Greatest Series
I don't know how some people find flow in it. I think they haven't watched it properly. The character of Pleng was not toxic or bad at all. She was like the rest of the 80% of the majority. Who doesn’t follow their heart, no matter how much that will hurt them? On the other hand, Wan belongs to the 20% of the population, who can do anything, face anything to get what she wants. Wan has done PHD on Pleng. She knew her so well. Wan can even sense what step she could've taken in the next moment. That's why she never got angry with her. NEVER. Because she knew her extremely well. Pleng loved her a lot, but if you could see, how hard life became after the tragedy. You would realize that leaving that house was the best decision. Leaving home is not a joke at the age of 17. That's the reason Wan respected her a lot. I don't wanna spoil it. Only one thing. You will literally forget about genders. Love is love. The two of them played their role as best as possible. And one of the greatest onscreen chemistry they have. Was this review helpful to you?

⚠️ GL Grading DisclaimerBefore we dive in, a quick note on how I grade GL series: My primary focus is on the love story, chemistry, and plot. I grade on a curve, meaning my ratings are “for a GL,” recognizing the specific landscape and production context of girls’ love media.
If I ever rate something a 10, it’s because it absolutely delivers in one (or more) of these areas: undeniable chemistry between leads, high enjoyability, or a unique and/or excellently executed storyline that stands out in the genre.

Plot
The story in Affair was solid and kept my attention from start to finish. It definitely leaned into melodrama at times—sometimes a bit too hard—but never so much that it pulled me out of the experience. The emotional stakes felt real, and the plot was tight enough to carry the weight of all that angst and longing.
Chemistry
Wan and Pleng? Off. The. Charts. Easily the steamiest GL pairing I’ve seen so far. Their physical and emotional tension felt electric—charged from their very first scene to the last. This show doesn’t play coy about the passion, and honestly, it’s all the better for it. If you're here for heat, Affair delivers.
Characters / Acting
Wan is an absolute standout. She knew what she wanted and never once wavered—not even as a kid. Her confidence and quiet intensity made her a magnetic presence on screen. Pleng, while not quite as dynamic, had a believable arc. Her hesitation and decisions felt true to who she was, even if she faded a bit next to Wan.
Now for the villains: Wan’s mother was the worst—but in a good way. She was a terrible human, and credit to the actress, she sold it.
On the flip side, Ek was just rough to watch. The performance didn’t land, and giving him that many crying scenes was a real misstep. Those emotional moments felt overcooked and forced—honestly, they became a bit of a drag.
The acting overall was strong, especially from the leads. That said, there was a lot of crying. Like, a lot a lot. These women can definitely cry, and while it worked most of the time, some of it started to feel excessive by the end.
Production & Pacing
Solid across the board. The show looked good, was well-paced, and maintained its emotional momentum without feeling sluggish. The tone stayed consistent, and the melodrama—was thick—and veered into soap opera territory. Although I will say, that the hospital felt pretty quiet, never seen an emergency room on television so empty, which in turn made the show feel a bit small.
Final Thoughts
Affair brings fire, heartbreak, and unforgettable chemistry. It's dramatic as hell, yes—but that’s the point. The story is tight, the production holds up, and the romance is hot af. It’s not subtle, but it doesn’t need to be.
Chemistry rating: Hot AF
(Scale: Hot AF, Steamy, Warm and Cute — This one’s sizzling from start to finish.)
Highly recommend if you want a GL that doesn’t hold back. Just be ready for tears. Lots and lots of them.

I love this series so much, my only complaint though is that I would have preferred much more if they had cut off the scenes in episode 8 where Pleng goes to the party by herself and gets drunk which causes Wan’s behavior tours Pleng a little toxic. It gave me the feeling that she didn’t trust her and behaved immaturely by getting back at her. It felt unnecessary instead I would have much preferred that Pleng bring Wan with her to the party and celebrate her complete album together and/or show their wedding with beautiful, happy moments.Overall the story, the acting, the characters, and the music were done beautifully

Hits you in the feels!
Affair is a story that dives into love, identity, and reconnecting with the past, and the chemistry between Lookmhee and Sonya makes it all the much more engaging. It’s not perfect, but the emotional moments, the great acting from LMSY, the relatable characters and amazing chemistry between the girls make up for it. Plus, it’s great to see more authentic LGBTQ+ stories out there.
10/10 recommend and a MUST watch for thai gl fans!

Not too bad
The plot started intriguing, even though some parts early on felt childish; but that made sense since they were high schoolers then. Sadly, it died slightly after they got back together, and I wanted it to be more nuanced—that's a problem the whole show has, a lack of depth. Stuff happens that doesn't make sense, but it's fine since it's a drama.I liked the dramatics, but it dragged. If an episode is over 40 minutes, it needs to really add to the story.

10/10 One of the best GL series ever!
For me, this is one of the best GL series that I have watched.I was impressed by their acting since Episode 1. Acting was raw and natural, no cringe or awkwardness between the characters. The lead actresses played the role very convincingly, and they've given 100% in the drama and intimate scenes. So, I really applaud them. Actingwise, it is very impressive performances from the leads (Sonya and Lookmhee).
Storyline, this is based on the same novel written by Chao Planoy. If you havent read the novel, you'll be shocked with all the twists and turns of the story.
The story tells of a genuine, solid love which could probably be very close to obsession. Of denial of feelings and later on choosing acceptance. It tells of realities that some people can unfortunately face.
1100% recommend this, sapphics or nonsapphics which have an open mind that love is not bound to a specific gender.
10/10 Yes, I have become a fan of this series. Turned obsessed at Ep 3. You can watch it on Youtube - Affair The Series Uncensored.

A parte final realmente me irritou.

Yo a esas dos chicas les creo cualquier cosa que me digan XDWas this review helpful to you?
