sadly it didn't hit as it should have

beautiful cast. perfect chemistry. great great start of plot and first episodes. incredible originalità in the plot. complex and realistic characters. villains with vulnerabilities. character development for each one of them. beautiful visuals. but... the plot did not make it. it started so well and promising and then went into this weird spiral which was not meant for a 10 episode show... i still got attached to the characters and place so I think 8 it's very safe to give. But sadly I stopped enjoying after ep 6
5, I wish they either gave it 16 episodes (then keeping all the drama/sub plots would make sense), or they should have get rid of some thing. it felt rushy and too filled. we lost the chemistry and the beauty of cooking and the slice of life feeling of the first episodes.

I really love food.

I have to start for this the last cameo was epicccccccccc, I was scream like a little girl but seriously i think this drama made grow up to all the leaders caracters except the mom they all have an evolution and start notice who was really important. Enjoy.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Tastefully Yours' is a culinary romantic comedy.

The drama has nice settings and a good idea behind the plot, but the rest was average. The comedy was overstretched, the politics underdeveloped, and the romance, which was the main ingredient of the drama, failed to impress. It was badly paced and was not convincing. It also lacked intensity and sweet moments. The scenes of the restaurant were nice, though.

Finally, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, three out of ten.

Simple but decent food drama

I liked the simplicity of this drama, it’s not over the top or too deep with its storylines, which made it a nice, casual watch where you don’t have to focus too much. The actors all did a great job. Episode 9 felt a bit slow, almost like it was dragging unnecessarily, and episode 10 started off slow but then felt rushed toward the end, which made it a little confusing. Since it’s a show centred around food, it’s important that the dishes look appealing enough to make the audience want to try them, and I have to say, they really delivered on that.

Ain't Nothing Like A 3 Course Meal!

*FYI THIS REVIEW IS MADE TO BE VAGUE SO AS TO NOT SPOIL THE DRAMA FOR ANYONE...HOWEVER THOSE WHO HAVE WATCHED THE SERIES WILL UNDERSTAND THE UNDERLYING MEANINGS TO MY DESCRIPTIONS*

This drama was served up in a way I wasn't expecting, but it brought warmth and comfort to my heart. Everyone's got their own opinion and is entitled to it, but I personally found this mini-series amazing and easily one of the most accessible ones out there.

[Entrée]
The entrée kicked things off with conflicting tastes that somehow complemented each other. It created a cosy atmosphere that lingered throughout the entire series. Each character brought their own unique energy into the mix. The unexpected way each flavour clashed before blending into a beautiful little family is what I loved most. It was a delightful surprise that set the tone for the rest of the series, inviting viewers to savour every moment.

[Main Course]
The main course was exceptional and lingered well on the palate. It was a harmonious blend of drama, emotion, and storytelling that left a lasting impression. The character development and plot progression were both satisfying and engaging, making it hard to turn away. The layering of emotions and the intertwining of personal stories created a rich tapestry that was both filling and fulfilling.

[Dessert]
Overall, I loved this mini-series. The dessert was the perfect conclusion, sweet and satisfying, leaving a delightful aftertaste that made me reflect on the journey I had just experienced. It wrapped up all the elements with grace and left me feeling content. This series was like a well-prepared meal, each course thoughtfully crafted to provide a memorable experience. It was a comforting, heartwarming adventure that I would recommend to anyone seeking a fulfilling viewing experience.

*I know it's corny and maybe cringe but I felt I wanted to try and serve this review in a similar style to the theme of the show*

Tastefully Awful

Was excited for this drama. What was I excited for?

The scenes were boring.. nothing happened but nonsense.

The ml was this focused smart businessman in the beginning, but that all changed when he met fl.
He became so silly and not in a good way.

The fl was annoying.
Her food amazing, but her attitude was not.
I couldn't understand her character at all.

Thought this drama was gonna be about making delicious foods, helping each other succeed with the restaurant/falling in love, but the main leads relationship felt off. Watching them interact I thought they wasn't really a good match.

I got to really like the pair together. In this drama I didn't and couldn't care less if they got together.

tastefully yours brings disappointment to the plate

firstly, this drama starts off strong with some really cool animations. i bet this is one of those dramas where you don't feel like skipping the intro.

there are fast cuts between cosy kitchens, fresh ingredients being chopped, and beautiful dishes being plated. it looks great, and more than that, it fits the entire "vibe" of the show. the drama is all about contrasts: fancy food vs real passion and skill vs business pressure.

kang haneul ♡ plays a very different role than usual here. he is kind... of annoying but also fun to watch. he’s full of himself, but there are also moments where he seems really lost or honest, which makes him interesting. go minsi’s ♡ character is also a nice change. she’s smart, calm, and knows what she wants. there’s no over the top innocence or weird quirks, just someone who really cares about cooking in a thoughtful way. their chemistry works WELL even though it’s based on the classic "opposites attract" thing.

there are ofc some typical k-drama clichés like food competitions, love triangles, enemies who have to work together, big festivals... but it doesn’t feel boring or forced. it kind of makes fun of these tropes while still using them in a fun way. the side characters are also pretty funny and add some warmth without taking up too much space.

also, i just want to appreciate bae na-ra. he plays the antagonist in this one (like in weak hero), but he somehow feels like a completely DIFFERENT character with a whole other kind of aura?? is it weird if i say he seems even more evil this time... idk, but i'm definitely a fan!

overall, tastefully yours is a mix of comfort and drama. the visuals are amazing, the acting is strong, and the story slowly grows on you. it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely something worth watching.

one character spoiled it

this would have been an easy 9 rating. great laughs. the food - wow, the food. brilliant female lead. and only 10 episodes!! Also executed most of the stuff I want to see in a rom com. but..... I took off 2 whole points for the single most pathetic male lead I have seen in the 80 or so kdramas I have watched. whenever there was an opportunity to do the right thing vs the wimpy thing, he chose wimpy. perhaps there is a fine line between sensitivity and strength, but this character was annoyingly never close to that line. it's a shame.

Sweet, Fun but just misses the mark

From the start, this drama started out strong, with the understanding that they only had 10 episodes. Taking a 16 episode mindset, this drama stayed on pace with sweetness and drama building as you would expect. Only when it should be wrapping up plotlines, it got bogged down as many 16 episode dramas do. This left no time for the solid ending, making it rushed and leaving big plot holes when it could have been a perfect short drama.

That said, it was a fun drama, worth the watch for its character growth, sweet romance, silly antics and wonderful cast.

A quite well-written feel-good drama

It's actually quite well-written; everyone has a purpose in the story, and there are fairly realistic character arcs. Also, I always like dramas with a found-family theme.

Don't expect a deep and poignant story from just 10 episodes, this is literally a drama meant to be watched comfortably. It might be a bit dragging in the middle, but—at least for me—I can still follow it until the end.

No unnecessary drama and romance; just people who love cooking in different ways. Good job!

(And I just realized the Lovely Jogger reference is from Lovely Runner. From Sunjae to Eunjae. 🤣 And how Chunseung asked Eunjae's high school and suddenly feel nostalgic, lol. 🤣)

Tasteful show

I didn’t expect much from this show if i’m completely honest, i thought it would bore me too much and i would end up forgetting about it till i inevitably restarted it again just to finish it, but honestly it was so good!

i liked all characters in the show and i liked the shows pacing and development throughout the episodes! usually i would be a bit bummed out that a good show only had 10 episodes but honestly, it was perfect.

it takes a good director to know how many episodes are enough for a show. it wasn’t an overkill and it wasn’t too short either. every plot in the show wrapped up nicely, it genuinely felt like i was watching a cute little story! its been a while since a kdrama did that!

bonus points for the weak hero class reference haha, i loved jihoons cameo at the end and his iconic sieun kubrick stare.

lovely couple, beautiful friendship, also a found family trope which warmed my heart. i liked everyones dynamic in there, it was funny and sad- everything a mix of perfect balanced emotions. it was never too excessive on drama but also didn’t make it boring. i really liked this!

Simple, Beautiful

I truly fell out laughing towards the end when Park Ji Hoon came in and Yoo Su Bin character asked him what school he was from!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣. That nearly took me out, and it was just so cute!!!! This drama wasn't anything spectacular, no bells or whistles, just a simple love story between two people that bonded over good food, and righting wrongs. Two grown men having a BITCH for a mom was draining for them with all of her threats, all about business, and not giving a damn about her sons. The mom character made me so mad, but all things worked out in the end. Kang Ha Neul, and GO Min si such a good pair up, along with Kim Shin Rok, and that crazy Yoo SuBin. Everyone did a wonderful job with this drama, and I really enjoyed it!!!!
