Comedy is Comedy-ing
Initial Thoughts:Went in with my expectations buried six feet underground—didn’t expect to like this at all. I’m not into chef-centered dramas because cooking scenes usually bore me (cough Love Next Door cough). But Tastefully Yours said, “Let me make every single dish look so good you’ll want to eat your screen.” And it worked.
The Flavors (a.k.a. What Worked):
The FOOD. Oh my god. They made every dish look Michelin-star worthy. I’ve never wanted to live inside a kitchen more.
The ACCENTS. It’s set in the countryside and the Korean dialects? 10/10, music to my ears.
The HUMOR. It’s actually funny. Not rolling-on-the-floor type, but it has genuine warmth and charm.
The CAST. Kang Haneul and Go Minsi are naturals at rom-coms. The entire main cast? Vibe. Acting? Solid.
The Aftertaste (a.k.a. Personal Gripes):
The couple has chemistry, no denying that. But I personally don’t like the pairing. That’s just me being picky.
The plot is as predictable as sunrise, but not in a way that makes you bored. Think “Undercover High School” energy—cliched, but it works.
The MUSIC? Meh. Nothing stuck with me. Even the main song "Paints" felt like a weaker cousin of a Dali and the Cocky Prince OST.
Final Bite:
I don’t see this becoming an all-time favorite, but I’m definitely enjoying it more than expected. It’s cozy, it’s appetizing (literally), and honestly? That’s enough.

ROMCOM IS BACK!
Okay, firstly, lemme start by giving Haneul oppa & Minsi unnie, the best comedian humourous award...they really uplifted my whole spirit just from the start of this drama...the chemistry between them is just WOWOWO...The way Hanuel oppa character is here is so like him in real life, his character is the director of a large restaurant company, and he is not a spoilt brat , but he doesn't do the cooking, he is just in charge of the sales, like marketing the foods, and like keeping trouble in order for peaceful sales, but on the other hand Minsi's character is completely the opposite and really contradict him a lot...she deals with traditional style cooking, like she likes to hand her ingredient for her things, she literally in the drama hiked just to get one single mushroom , like GURL (just go buy it at the market but despite all of this she really isn't making loads of money at all), but yh, i know for the first few eps, whenever these two leads meet, it is not gonna be easy to get along as one is a modern sales food manager restaurant and the other one is a local hardworking passionate cook...i just know the chemistry and the comedy will be so off the charts...Was this review helpful to you?
Le murir in French means nothing at all.
Guys, when you use French words, make sure they mean something.Mûrir means to mature which is a verb so you don't put LE in front of it.
Besides, using that word for a restaurant is funny.
I wish they stopped acting like kids in Kdramas... it's tiring.
Same old same old stupid scenes on Asian dramas where the man catches the woman falling...
And those yelling/crying like a baby...
It took a meal for the dad to change him from a non racist and discover French food that is rated 1st by UNESCO.

Yoo Soo-bin’s character brings freshness and humor, with a sweetness that balances the tone of the series. The food scenes are, without a doubt, the show’s highlight—beautifully shot and full of charm.
That said, the corporate sabotage and power games feel weak, with some episodes overloaded while others rush through key moments.
All in all, Tastefully Yours is a light, sweet, and visually delightful rom-com—perfect if you’re looking for something gentle and heartwarming.

SWEET AND SHORT DRAMA WITH FOOD!!
The drama started with a bittersweet romance and some plot-heavy drama in the early episodes. What I really liked about it was the way it told the story of food in everyday life—how it holds memories together and connects people.Though it could have been a bit longer, it felt like the ending was rushed but short and sweet!! 🤔
Also, if you invite a guest from another country and then humiliate them while doing everything your own way, and still call it good reputation—that's definitely very good for company 🙄
It also felt like they tried to create an unnecessary villain plot, which didn’t quite work.
I really wish they had added more romantic scenes or maybe some side stories that combined love and food recipes 🎀.

A GOOD SHORT KDRAMA WITH GREAT CAST!
What immediately made me want to watch this drama was clearly the casting! That's what initially hooked me. Of course, Korean cuisine is known for being delicious, but ironically, I mostly saw French cuisine, which made me smile! The plot revolves around two rival restaurants and a team of chefs who are engaged in a veritable war to earn a Michelin star. At the heart of this culinary competition, a romance develops between a carefree heir, ready to do anything for excellence without truly understanding the value of raw ingredients, and a passionate chef, trained by a Japanese master, deeply committed to authentic cuisine that respects ingredients and traditions.
What I loved, beyond the incredible chemistry between Go Min Si and Kang Ha Neul, was the powerful message about the importance of sincerity, hard work, and passion—things that no amount of money can buy. Go Min Si once again demonstrates her versatility by portraying this chef with magnificent intensity: she's radiant, natural, and impressively deep. As for Kang Ha Neul, he brings a lovely lightness to the drama, and I was blown away by his linguistic talents!
It's a good food drama, no doubt about it! The short format makes it easy to follow, even if it remains fairly standard and doesn't take any real risks. There are a few minor flaws: like the return of a character who briefly left doubts about a love triangle, or the lack of development surrounding the brothers' relationship, which I would have really liked to see explored further.
On the romance side, some aspects are somewhat sidelined in favor of the cooking, but overall, it's a very enjoyable drama to watch. I had a good time, especially thanks to a solid and convincing cast. I also found the camera shots particularly well-executed; they really contribute to the atmosphere.
What I especially appreciated was the heroine's return to basics: her way of cooking reminded me how important it is, even in our daily lives, to remain attentive to the origin of our products, their production, and their seasonality.
Beyond the food, I really enjoyed the interactions between the characters, the well-balanced humor, and the emotions that emerge. I recommend this drama if you're looking for a short K-drama with a touch of romance and a strong cast! (and of course, you have to love cooking too, haha)

Wasted Potential
Tastefully Yours kicked off as a promising story up until the 4th episode, then everything went downhill after the ex & sapporo arc that didn't even have an impact on the plot overall. They could've made it as time to explore jungjae & beomwoo & yeonju's relationship more. Like if you want to include yeonju's past about how she fell in love with cooking, just extend her story at the temple with the monks. I honestly think it's more than enough. Instead, you made them go to japan for absolutely nothing? They made them go through all that fighting because of those unnecessary problems, then forced them to just say "i love you" to each other in the last 15 mins, and that's it??? I thought this was supposed to be a light rom-com.7/10 solely because i love minsi and haneul, jungjae's team story, and for the first half of the show (yeah, this is biased)

Love the Romance, Gourmet, Everything!!!
Once in a while, you come across a show that is wholesome and entertaining!Genie TV’s “Tastefully Yours” is one such show; premiering on the Monday- Tuesday block, it quickly became my favorite part of the week. The storyline seems ordinary, but rather the storytelling is unique and the characters are immersive. It has been long since I watched such an amazing camaraderie between the characters, it mainly hinges on the “Found Family” concept; albeit with a gourmet twist. I enjoyed each and every minute of this meaningful journey and I’m actually sad at bidding farewell to this show. Actor Kang Ha Neul was actually a surprise, his role has a comic flair that isn’t easy. Han Beom U has a painful backstory which he tries to hide with his humor. Mo Yeon Ju has an equally intriguing backdrop and even though their personalities clash, they make a riveting pair.

A Pot Full of Laughter
Tastefully Yours is a great RomCom Drama, the latest break-away winner for me. Another serious dramatic actor (Kang Ha-neul) is trying his hand at Comedy. This follows the likes of dramatic actor Ju Ji Hoon’s huge Baeksang Arts Award win for Best Actor for Trauma Code: Heroes On Call in 2025, which was also a Comedy.Tastefully Yours was filmed in Jeonju, a city I had planned to visit on my next trip to South Korea. Jeonju is the food capital of South Korean, to hear natives speak. Therefore, it is quite fitting that a drama about food, cooking and its delicacies be filmed there.
Tastefully Yours stars Kang Kang Ha-neul (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo). Kang Ha-neul plays an obnoxious rich brat (Han Beom U), who runs the restaurants for his demanding Chairman Mother. He is a perfectionist, and a stickler about being on time. Kang Ha-neul is still one of the crazy good lookers for me. He just makes my heart melt. Drama character Han Beom U is a perfectly snide CEO who ‘knows better than anyone else’. Kang Ha-neul has the brat attitude mastered. He is killing me with his comedic ad libs. However, the character Han Beom U conducts his business negotiations the street thug way. He tries to gangster people. As bad as Han Beom U is, his mom is worse and Han Beom U’s older brother bullies him. There are so many layers to this unusual RomCom about a family of restauranteurs seeking the illusive Diamant 3 Stars (Think Michelin 5 Stars in America). So mom makes a deal. The first son to get one of her restaurants 3 Diamant stars gets ownership of the family business. The race is on. This is my kind of story. This is the hit I was looking for. Kang Ha-nuel is marvelous and the drama accoutrements are tastefully done.
Kang Ha-neul, Go Min Si, and Bae Na Ra
Go Min Si is the Female Lead and love interest Mo Yeon Ju. A very smart reclusive small town restaurant owner, Mo Yeon Ju cooks culinary delights with only freshly grown or cultured ingredients. She is very skeptical of this City Slicker confronting her with a Business Proposal, and shuts him down. However, Han Beom U recognizes that Mo Yeon Ju has the cooking skills good enough to aid him in winning the ownership of the family business.
Everyone’s favorite nemesis from Weak Hero Class 2, Bae Na Ra again plays the nemesis (Han Seon U). He is the big brother of Han Beom U in Tastefully Yours. Han Seon U‘s approach to winning the family business is ‘No Holds Barred’. Too bad this character’s name in not Han Seol U. Get it? I can do comedy too.
The food on display in Tastefully Yours looks so delicious you will want to hop a plane straight to South Korea.
It seems that Tastefully Yours is capturing the audience already. It is now in the Top Ten dramas list on Netflix.

A Show Full of Savory and Sincere Food and Feelings
I don't typically write reviews for shows before they're completed, but this show has been an absolute delight so far so I will!Story: 8/10
To be completely outright, I didn't have high expectations going into this show. It's full of cliches in Rom-Com K-Dramas: A rich and spoiled ML, a stubborn yet poor FL, rich parents, and sidekicks. The story itself isn't incredibly new or shocking, but I feel the writers took a refreshing approach to an otherwise over-told storyline. The ML and FL have an amusing enemies-to-friends/co-workers-to lovers relationship that makes you laugh but you still feel their feelings shifting for each other as they grow to respect and care for each other. The sidekicks also make you laugh and although the villains of the story are a bit typical, there's no unnecessary twists thus far like a random murder-mystery plot or something like that. Lately, I've personally been watching a lot of thriller shows and I felt like this show was a good break in the middle of a warm May, letting me relax without thinking too much about the storyline.
Acting/Cast: 9/10
I honestly am really enjoying the acting from everyone in this show so far! I have watched Go Min Si before in Youth of May and her acting blew me away back then, so I knew she wouldn't disappoint me and I was right. She nails the role of a so-called "Country Bumpkin" with a headstrong personality and strong morals, and both delivers in comedic scenes and in the romance parts. It's refreshing to see her do a Rom-Com after seeing her in such a serious role in Youth of May and I think it's a great reflection of her versatality as an actress. As for the ML played by Kang Ha Neul, I haven't actually seen him in anything but Scarlet Heart and that was frankly too long ago for me to have much of an opinion on his acting. But he does a great job playing the selfish ML and his comedy and romantic scenes are wonderful too. I love his micro-expressions as well, I think he plays the role very naturally. I also want to mention Yoo Su-Bin who plays Shin Chung-Seong. I first saw him in Start-Up and I honestly loved his character in that show too and it felt like a nice reunion of sorts to see him play the goofy Chung Seong. And for Kim Shin-Rok who plays the adorable Jin Myeong-Sook, I've only really seen her play the villain in Undercover High School, but I am really enjoying seeing her in a comedic role. Overall, everyone has good chemistry together :)
Music: 8/10
As I always say, I'm not a big OST person but I liked the music so it's an 8/10 for me.
Rewatch Value: 9/10
Like I always say, I'm not a big fan of re-watching shows. In fact, there's only a handful of k-dramas I've ever re-watched. But this show is sweet and fun, and I could see myself re-watching it later on when I need a break from more fast-paced, thrilling shows. So, 9/10.
Overall: 9/10
I think this is a great show if you're looking for something lighthearted with "clean" humour, along with a good mix of comedy and romance. I believe I'll watch the show all the way to the end, and I hope the show can keep up its good momentum until then. Thanks for reading my review!! :)

Some Tasty Bits
I liked this series. No, it wasn't perfect, and as another reviewer mentioned, the whole Sapporo subplot was a distraction. Yet another reviewer opined that the ML was a wimp. True enough, I didn't really like the ML very much, whether it was because he was wimpy or what. Go Min-si on the other hand was a pleasure to watch. Normally I don't think about the acting quality as for the most part it seems to be adequate, in my opinion a cut above Thai or Japanese drama series. There was one scene that caught my attention, when Kim Shin-rok is reading the ML the riot act. It felt very real, the kind of real that maybe happens every day in life but is a bit sanitized or sensationalized in most dramas. At least that was my take on it.I guess this is a bit of spoiler:
I found it odd that Kim Shin-rok's character was able to cook as well as Go Min-si's character. That seemed a stretch to me. Especially with frozen chicken.
