A Quiet Grief, A Loud Love — Our Movie is One for the Soul

Our Movie is a love story wrapped in stillness, built on grief, and told with aching tenderness. It doesn't rely on twists — it devastates with quiet truths.

Jeon Yeobeen and Namkoong Min deliver restrained, soul-stirring performances. Their chemistry unfolds in silences, glances, and the heartbreak of knowing love might not be enough to stop time.

The direction is masterful — every pause lingers just long enough. The cinematography captures both distance and intimacy with stunning softness. And the OST? It slips under your skin, haunting without ever overpowering.

This is a drama that whispers — and ruins you gently.

Please note: Any "reviews" attacking the personal lives of the actors are obviously written by malicious fans who haven’t even watched the drama and clearly have nothing better to do with their sad lives. Kindly use your own discretion and judgment in deciding whether you want to watch the drama and what you think of it. Have fun. :)

A heartbreaking masterpiece about life, love and loss

Heartwrenching and beautifully sad, Our Movie tells a powerful story that stays true to its path from beginning to end. The chemistry between the leads is undeniable, bringing quiet tenderness to every scene.

Lee Da-eum’s strength shines throughout—despite her illness, she wakes up each day ready to live fully, chasing her dream of becoming an actress with courage and grace. Her resilience is inspiring and unforgettable.

One of the most emotional moments comes between Da-eum and her father, who must silently carry the unbearable weight of knowing he’s about to lose his daughter—and can't do a thing to stop it.

This drama is a soft, slow-burning masterpiece about love, loss, and choosing life while it lasts.

Our Movie may not have delivered fireworks or high-stakes melodrama—but it offers something rarer: intentional, heartfelt, and deeply human storytelling. It’s about love that heals, artistic rebirth, and mortality handled with care.

Will never watch again. 10 Stars.

This was beautiful.
Every scene and every line was well thought out and planned to perfection (even though the overall plot was predictable). The acting was amazing, and I never wanted it to end.
However, this is the first and last time I will watch this. This series destroyed me. I couldn't stop watching, even though I knew the ending, but it still got me.

The epitome of a melodrama DONE RIGHT

Classic melodrama done absolutely perfectly. The angst and anticipation of how everything will pan out was executed flawlessly.

Funnily enough, I loved how the ending progressed. Usually in melodramas I enjoy feeling the devastation (bawling my eyes out and all that) but surprisingly, I loved how calm and genuine the ending was since they didn't show Daeum's death. IMO, they wrapped the drama up beautifully.

The small details were all so meticulously written! I am just in awe of Namkoong Min and Jeon Yeo Been. 10/10 drama for sure.

A kdrama Newbie's review on a newly found masterpiece.

I'm new to kdramaland. Have been watching romantic dramas for a while now but recently joined the website. At first, i was a little dubious to watch this drama since the rating wasn't high and not so many were watching it, but i'm glad i wasn't swayed by that and started watching.
I just finished episode 12 a few minutes ago and my heart is both in pain and joyed with happiness. That's how a masterpiece should be. I couldn't believe myself when i was watching the episodes.

The aesthetics, the cast, the story, everything. How could they plan and execute it all in such beauty?

Story:
Terminal illness and love in times of disease sums it up. As someone who has gone through this route and know the pain, i decided to give in. I fell in love, cried, laughed, imagined myself in Daeum and Jeha 's shoes in these 12 episodes. I got to learn that life is cruel, painful and heartless but there is a thing called love in it. A love so beautiful is depicted that made me wanna fall in love. I Just couldn't control my tears when our beautiful Daeum lost her batttle little by little but get to taste a love so pure. Jeom Yeo Been is a sweetheart with her smiles and her contagious love.
Lee Jeha is a great depiction of a person so traumatized and so emotionally numb that is hard to open up to. but man i was wrong. Nam Koong Min played like an artist and molded Jeha's character to make him one of the most loveable romantic in all history for me.

Cinematography:
I'm not very much experienced in Korean dramas but the scenery were eye candy for me personally. the colors, locations, even Jeha's childhood home and the hospital Daeum stayed in had feelings in it.

Writing:
It's not without fault in my opinion but character development is done at its finest. i didn't mind the second and minor characters much because they were not the main leads but they were also portrayed greatly. even the villains learned their lesson and a deep friendship was formed in the end.

OST:
just wow. MiMi by CIFIKA is amazing. the rest of the songs were just shouting each feelings behind the story. I hope they release the bgm too.

So as my first review, i would love to say that this drama is beautiful. It's not just a drama but a lesson in love and life. thank you to the cast and crew and i hope more dramas like this gem show up for us fans to enjoy.

Too good it hurts (literally)

This K-drama is genuinely so beautiful. The way it’s filmed, the aesthetic, the storytelling, everything feels intentional and artistic without being too much. I love how the chemistry between the leads feels super natural. Nothing is forced and you can actually feel what the characters are going through.

The pacing is slow in a really good way. It gives the story time to breathe and gives you space to connect. Each episode leaves you with that feeling of “I need next week to come faster.” Visually it’s stunning and honestly one of the prettiest dramas I’ve ever watched. The style just pulls you in immediately.

The acting is on another level. Two of my favorite actors together and they absolutely deliver 10/10. I really hope they get cast in a cheesy rom-com someday because their chemistry deserves that kind of light too.

Definitely one of the most special ones I’ve seen. A true mellow masterpiece. I really loved it.

Loved this drama! But..the...ending....

This was such an amazing heartfelt drama. So many times some of these dramas are tooo long, I didn't want this one to end! Every drama that Namkoong Min is in is above your average drama so I knew it would be good from the start. Lee Da Eum's character is unforgettable, it makes you question your own outlook on life.
I just have one issue, the director did such an incredible job of making us feel for Lee Da Eum which is why I wish they would have let us be by her side when she died but instead it was a given that she died and instantly fast forwarded a year instead of letting us the audience have some closure as well.
Regardless of the ending this is a must watch drama! Great job by all the cast and crew ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

MY FAV MELODRAMA OF 2025

I could talk about this drama for a long time. First of all, I want to mention the amazing cinematography. It completely captivated me. Even the short videos from Daeum's camera at the end of the episode were so meaningful... It's a truly artistic drama. I don't think I need to mention Jeon Yeobeen and Namkoongmin's acting. They're both excellent actors and did a fantastic job, as expected. Their chemistry was amazing. It became my favorite partnership of the year. This drama has so many important lines about death, life, and love. It's definitely a drama I'll watch again and again. And for me, it's the best drama of the year.

Beautiful

I really enjoyed this series. It was so darn sweet.
A true love story with a happy but yet sad ending.
I thought all the characters did a great job and love the fact many were selfish people but became good people at the end because of what they learned from the lead female character. Kind of taught you what’s really important in life.
And I really ended up liking the lead male actor. Off to see what else he played in!

If you're struggling, watch this another beautiful addition to the gems of Korean Entertainment.

Made the account to express my love for the series. Some works try to do more than just entertain. To me, struggling with purposelessness, the series was like a gift, reminding once again the value of life, people and doing what your heart loves as opposed to running after money or forcing yourself to do stuff. Beautiful. It made me feel as alive as it did Lee Daeum or Gyuwon. There's just something about Korean entertainment. The heart, feelings, human behind the art is not dead. It's living💖 Highly respect😊.

Lee Da-eum: A Star That Shines Until the End

*Our Movie* is a deeply moving K-drama that skillfully blends melodrama with a profound reflection on life, illness, and artistic creation. The story follows Lee Je-ha (Namgoong Min), a talented director facing a personal crisis, and Lee Da-eum (Jeon Yeo-bin), an actress battling a terminal illness. Their encounter changes the course of their lives as they come together to undertake an ambitious project: creating a film that reflects their experiences and innermost emotions.

What makes this series so captivating is the way it portrays the complexity of human emotions with great accuracy. The finely crafted script avoids typical clichés and delivers nuanced, believable, and deeply relatable characters. Each episode invites the viewer to dive into the protagonists’ psyche, experiencing their doubts, hopes, and pain.

Namgoong Min delivers a masterful performance, expressing with controlled intensity Lee Je-ha’s vulnerability and inner strength. His portrayal is both subtle and powerful, giving authentic depth to a character seeking redemption. Jeon Yeo-bin, on the other hand, brings a heartbreaking sincerity to Lee Da-eum, a woman whose physical fragility contrasts with an unwavering will to live fully. Their on-screen chemistry is palpable, making every interaction touching and memorable.

The direction adopts a contemplative and poetic style, offering carefully composed shots that enhance the intimate atmosphere of the series. The sometimes slow pace is an artistic choice that allows full immersion into the characters’ emotional worlds.

Another highlight of *Our Movie* is its soundtrack, understated yet highly effective. The music accompanies scenes with remarkable delicacy—sometimes melancholic, sometimes hopeful. The score plays a key role in the overall mood, supporting the dramatic intensity without ever overshadowing the story. Instrumental pieces blend seamlessly with the narrative, amplifying emotions without distracting the viewer.

Ultimately, *Our Movie* is much more than a drama about illness or filmmaking. It is a profound meditation on human resilience, the healing power of art, and the desire to leave a lasting mark. The series also emphasizes the importance of emotional connections, compassion, and hope even in the darkest moments.
