What a bullshit script and waste of time watching this...

I have not to tell you that this is a cliché BL with the worst things in it: An alleged rape, abnoxious woman and a story which is so boring and unrealistic that it begs the question: Who did greenlit this project?

I can't fault the actors, they did the best they could with this script. But pardon me: If you - as a brother - think your little brother was raped, you would call the police and then there would be a medical examination and so on - To keep the pretense of a rape for two episodes is the worst I have seen in any BL... Besides you can't rape someone without waking him up if he is not drugged - and he was not. So the premise is bullshit. And there is this annoying girl who got rejected but then suddenly she turns to her best (girl)friend and ends up a lesbian - OMG! How dumb can it be?

And because I was pissed at this, it's a waste of time to get into the gritty details of the rest of the story which was just awful and one cliché after the next. This was drunk writing, I can not explain it any other way. I know the actors need food on their tables, but when you read this script, can you really think that's a good idea to take on the role? I bet it was contractual obligations and they had to do this series.

The only thing I can't fault this series is the production quality which was really good but such a waste of money and effort. If you haven't seen this series yet, just don't. All the high ratings are just fangirls dreaming of cute boys/handsome men and nothing else, because it can't be for the story.

Beautiful Chemistry Makes Doctor’s Mine an Enjoyable Watch

Story
I just finished all 10 episodes and I’m glad we got a happy ending for all four couples. The story itself was not the best. The plot felt weak, and the jealous female characters were annoying and unnecessary. The SA flashback in episode 5 added nothing meaningful and could have been left out. It also felt unrealistic that all six boys and two girls began as straight but eventually turned gay. This is something that only seems to exist in BL worlds and not in real life.

Acting and Cast
Despite its flaws, I truly enjoyed the series. All four male leads were stunning, and the chemistry between MonPak and LeeArm stood out above the rest. Their connection was intense and believable, and their NC scenes were both hot and realistic. Some of the kiss and NC scenes in this drama rank among the best I have seen this year.

Characters
Two aspects of the story stayed with me long after the final episode. The first was the way the two brothers met their lovers. Knight’s first encounter with Mild was tender and fateful. As a child, he nearly drowned, and Mild saved him, planting the seed of love in his heart. Per’s story, on the other hand, was far more abrupt. His first meeting with Kan happened in a car during a sexual encounter, and from that glance onward, his entire orientation seemed to shift. Unrealistic, yes, but in the world of this drama, I accepted it.

The second aspect was Per’s mother. Many viewers will hate her, but I could not bring myself to. Per was her only son. She dreamed of seeing him with a wife, welcoming a daughter-in-law and holding a grandchild. Instead, he changed in a way she could not easily understand. From an Asian cultural perspective, this is not a simple transition. Generational expectations, family honor, and social image weighed heavily on her.
Per never had a true heart-to-heart with her, which explained her resistance. When she slapped Kan in the hospital, it was not out of cruelty but out of anger and fear. Her son had nearly died, and in her eyes, Kan was at fault. I did not agree with her actions, but I understood them. She wanted only the best for her child. In the end, I was glad they finally had the conversation they needed, and that she came to accept Kan and her son’s relationship. Many fans continue to despise her, but I believe her character was written with realism. If she had accepted Kan from the beginning, the story would have lost its emotional depth and its rollercoaster of drama.

Overall
This was not the greatest BL series, but it was still a fun and engaging watch. It gave me moments that were touching, frustrating, and unforgettable. I look forward to seeing the cast in future projects, carrying with me both the flaws and the sparks of brilliance that made this series memorable.

give me all the toxic red flags

apparently I have a type and it’s this kind of series. Now this series was a train wreck, but in the best possible way.

is this gonna be a toxic med? yes. yes it is. am I gonna enjoy every second of it? absolutely.

I really loved MonPak in two worlds so I have been locked in since this was announced forever ago. I’m happy to see them as leads in a series and I’m really curious to watch LongLee with his new partner. so far, I’m really enjoying it

bring on the red flag toxic mess. I am here for it.

although I will say I can do without the extremely long, random pauses in the series I swear some of them felt like they were 85 years long 🤣🤣

Oh, Juliet! What have they done?!

While writing this I kept asking myself, which was the worst. The script, the actors or my die hard need to finish whatever I've started. I take full blame for seeing this train wreck to the end. Nobody else. Just me. At 2x speed and ff, still it was painful.

It felt like a treasure hunt with no treasure at all.
1. We have a male character falling in love with another male character, who just happened to be a previous one night stand, all the while he's getting a blow job from a female character. Crude. Disgusting. Repulsive.
2. A female character who is willing to open her mind to becoming a lesbian because her female friend is in love with her. She asserts her love for men but considers it as her friend wants her to just get to know each other better. They've been friends for a while. How much more getting to know does she need? In so doing, will her V turn into P? No previous attraction seen.
3. Same said character is continuously rebuffed and rejected by a male character. Apparently, she buried her pride under her feet. So the female side character must be desperate and dull and hard of hearing. When will writers stop doing this? A whitty girl who recognizes that he wouldn't see her as nothing more than a friend and keeps his best interests at heart was too hard to write? Oh, they needed someone to be blamed for the unnecessary drama of the kidnap.
4. A brother of a male character keeps accusing another male character of raping his brother. The brother doesn't alert authorities but just stops talking to the alleged rapist. Sanity has left the room and the script. So his brother didn't know if there was a violation to his parts? He didn't say sexual assault for which the stolen kiss would fall under, but rape. His virgin brother wouldn't know if he was raped? One must always remember that in Thailand anything is possible. The more unbelievable the better, it seems.
5. The alleged rapist stays silent and doesn't seek the chance to clear his name until he has no choice but to. He starts a relationship and kisses his victim but only upon the dire threat of losing him, he begs for forgiveness. There was the usual separation and reconciliation but the ick is still there. How sick can a person be to steal a kiss from someone who doesn't know him like that AND is sleeping? Oh yes, I forgot, let's blame it on the convenient alcohol consumption. When all else fails, include alcohol.
6. A confused sexually abused male character attaches himself to the male doctor that showed him care and sympathy. To insert himself in the doctor's life, he renders the doctor's boyfriend unconscious. A search party ensues with numerous people with only the doctor finding him. Well, duh, who else would find him? Now here I would say, this was a story worth telling. Erase all the other crap, turn the abused character bat shit crazy who then stages an abduction of the doctor's boyfriend. Psycho continues to work alongside the doctor giving him much needed support until he unravels and is caught. This would be worthy of 8-10 episode easily. No, I guess that would mean expecting the actors to up their skills instead of parading around as juvenile uni students.
7. Four scriptwriters worked on this . FOUR! Then this got approval to be filmed. A director, to the best of my knowledge, who doesn't have a drinking problem attached his name to this. An agency with no reponsible use for money funded this. I will not blame the actors. Bills have to be paid and to stay relevant and gain experience, jobs have to be taken.

I purposefully left out all the characters names because they aren't worth drawing attention to or remembering. I am truly disheartened that 3 of the actors keep chosing projects that do not promote their acting abilities in a positive light. This is the true tragedy of it all.

this series is in dire need of a doctor…

(…which is ironic since the author of the novel(s) is a doctor)
This review is mostly to vent my disappointment. The badly handled sensitive topics will be shortly talked about.

The writing is just plain bad. The actors did their best. At least one of the writers must be in their Wattpad phase. In case you don‘t really know what that means: It means that the writer writes without thought, just vomits their fantasies onto the page, re-uses the oldest and most successful tropes (which makes the story kinda unoriginal) and is not aware of what good writing is yet because usually your brain hasn‘t fully developed yet at the time the phase happens. Wattpad is a good place to make all these mistakes, get feedback and improve your writing. (lmk if this explanation lacks something). When you are in your Wattpad phase you think it’s soo edgy to write that your main character was raped by their love interest because they’re interested in the main character and as screenwriter it’s probably even edgier to show the audience a „memory“ of it happening to make us truly believe it happened. Just to turn around and tell us it was a misunderstanding and didn‘t happen? What a violation and manipulation. What a betrayal of the characters, the viewers and morality. Who approved of this? (I fully understand the disgust and anger in user eliot_rulez‘s review.)
Furthermore a Wattpad phase writer would bend the characters against their characteristics in favour of their wanted outcome. So, the actions and reactions of the characters seem stupid, exaggarated, out of the blue, wrong etc. I felt that a bunch of times during the series… like the emotions and reactions sometimes were dialed to the max so tropes and situations that normally take up several episodes in other BLs, got fired through within one or two episodes. On one side it felt like they did that so they could get to the NC scenes and on the other because they probably didn‘t get the budget (no surprise why) to have more screentime to tell the story.

What else is there to say?
- generally the chemistry between each couple was okay. The actor pairing worked.
- the acting ranged from „first time on stage“ to ok/good.
- a new rival just appears, does their damage and is gone again. (how in the world did Per survive getting stabbed three times in the abdominal region, lying and bleeding on the ground for at least 10 mins and then standing up, talking, being conscious through all this to then go to the hospital to have serious surgery? I‘m no doctor but what?!)
- as soon as the two main couples get together the writers use the jealousy trope several times which is exhausting to watch. These characters are not allowed to establish any trust in each other. Usually such things only happen when the series is long and they run out of other possible plot or it‘s a fundamental characteristic of a character. But they managed to do this when there‘s only 10 episodes and none of the characters showed enough jealousy throughout the series to warrant this. Damn.

The one good thing about this series (imo): The third ‚couple‘ Tum and Klah.
Since the other two couples were thrown into a whirlwind of tropes and drama and did a speedrun through their relationship stages this couple went at a pace that felt the most realistic. Their whole set up was the most interesting: two best friends, one in love with the other, but the other is in a relationship with someone that doesn‘t love them and uses them for their own (non-sexual) benefits. I was mostly drawn to their story. But in the end I couldn‘t tell you whether they got together or not. And for them to have a more prominent role in the series they‘d need better writers.

Needless to say this was a disappointment. The first trailer looked exciting. And then we get this. Stabbed three times, yet still walking and talking.

I am kinda sad to say this but so far I have never encountered Lee Long Shi in a well written series. Unfortunately here‘s the next one.

Went downhill when ML became a rape suspect

I genuienly don't know what the writer-director were thinking when they came up with this horrible plot.

Knight liked Mild from a long time. Mild's brother and Knight used to be friends but then they started hating each other. At first the show makes it seem it was because they were fighting over a girl. But then they finally reveal it is because Mild's brother saw Knight raping Mild. The director did a whole flashback scene where Knight is going into Mild's room. He sees Mild sleeping and climbs on top of him. Then Mild remembers someone pushing his head into the bed and assaulting him.

How does the director overcome this twist? By saying none of that actually happened and Knight climbed onto a sleeping Mild just to kiss him and everyone else was imagining anything else. Why does Mild not remember clearly what happened? He was sleeping not drunk nor on drugs.

There was no going back from this train wreck. I was instantly put off from his character. Per and Kan are slightly better but even for them they show Per in the car with a girl performing oral while he is looking at Kan. They don't make it clear whether this is taking place while he was pursuing Kan or earlier. You just have to guess it in between allegations that Per is a cheater. Also, the scene itself was in such bad taste.

The women in this show are treated so badly. Like non-humans to use and discard. As if they don't have brains and just run behind men who are taken. They are made to be the most annoying characters.

To be honest, there is nothing really worth watching in this series. It is average even without the other nonsense. Very cringey romance. It has a several NC scenes which was tolerable. I didn't really want to root for any couple till the end.

The opening OST is probably the best thing about the show.

This show needed a doctor – a script and acting miracle worker

To stay concise I’ll go with bullet points.

- The plot is so basic, that it’s almost primitive; it’s relying on most rudimentary premises and is entirely forgettable.

- The script is weak, unimaginative and underdeveloped. It seems more like a first draft than a completed work – with shallow characterization, bunch of clichés (like pursuing a long time secret crush, one-night-stand turning into love, main characters randomly meeting in childhood and reuniting years later etc.) as well as hackneyed setting and plot elements.

- Production value is relatively low, though one should note that the show was not shot entirely in one location (namely the university campus and buildings); attempts were made to diversify the locations, which worked and brought a welcome change of surroundings.

- With (apparently) six main characters forming (apparently) three main couples and a bunch of side/supporting characters there should be ample of content for 10, 12 or even more episodes – but that’s not the case. There’s a very visible lack of content (or decent filling replacing actual content), only parts of which can be explained by what’s in the show and the rest remaining a production mystery. First of all: there are actually only four main characters – Knight, Mild, Per and Kan – forming two main couples. Tum and Klah have far less screen time and their plotline is so diluted, that there’s barely anything in it. Secondly, it’s not much different with the main characters – their storylines are so generic and so little happens in them, that with proper writing, editing and pacing they would (combined) fill 4-5 episodes of a normal show.

- The pacing is horrible, with not just scenes or episodes, but the whole series dragging mercilessly and needlessly. Every other scene seems to be deliberately stretched, prolonged by unnatural pauses, meaningless glances, characters seemingly waiting for something to happen etc. It’s one of those shows which can be watched on 2x speed without risk of missing anything important.

- What really killed the show for me were the performances. Not a single actor graced the screen during this series – and by "actor" I mean someone with either proper education, skill, talent or a mix thereof, someone who can actually act and not just show up in front of a camera. Instead of actors – who are still pretty rare in Thai BLs – we got a crew of amateurs; well-intended, but ill-equipped to perform even those uncomplicated roles they got. Pak, for whom I have a soft spot since his appearance in "The Eclipse", gave a cringe-inducing performance, equaled by that of Gun, Top and Guy. Arm came of as infantile and being memorable only because of the trout lips he makes (though there was a couple of scenes in which he felt genuine – properly using some of his charm); Lee’s performance – while not giving me second-hand embarrassment – felt half-hearted and bland. Mon was the only cast member who gave a watchable performance.

I wouldn’t watch a single minute of that show again even if was paid for that.

A long "short cheap drama"- waste of time AND effort

The sa scenes etc were a big no. I guess they tried making it more meaningful- maybe have some viewers connect with what they see, but the only thing i see here is making sa look unimportant for attention, and silly etc. Common sense gone already.

the actors- many of you said you watched it because of certain known bl leads, yes okay but even them cant make the whole episode look like its not making you go crazy. Most actors were bad. The side characters, third/fourth mains, bad. even the male lead (young boy) is bad (for me the worst). The characters suddenly becoming gay was also crazy. For some couples id see hints before they became gay but the acting was not good at all!!!

i was too focused on music to watch whats really going on. This bl is really just a long "short low cost bl" like the ones you see on tiktok and youtube. No common sense, many crazy things, bad acting- all that to get more views.

Yet another BL series with week script an no chemistry

Doctor’s Mine was, unfortunately, a disappointment. It felt like a low-budget production with weak characters and a story that didn’t leave any lasting impression. The script was weak and the plot never really took off. Now, two weeks after finishing it, I honestly can’t remember much of what the story actually was about – and that says a lot.

The main couple didn’t have any real chemistry. Their scenes often felt awkward and even cringe at times. I know that one of the actors is new to BL roles, but it was very obvious. He should have had more training before they started filming. It just didn’t feel natural or believable between them.

The second couple wasn’t great either. Their behavior felt strange and childish, especially considering they’re supposed to be close to graduating university. Maybe it’s a cultural difference, but to me it didn’t feel realistic at all.

It’s sad to say, but I don’t think the series managed to create believable characters. The dialogue felt flat and many scenes felt like they were just filling time. There were some emotional moments, but they didn’t land because the writing wasn’t strong enough. I often find it hard to believe in the love story when the characters have no chemistry, share no interests, and the series never explains why they’re even attracted to each other — without that foundation, their relationship just doesn’t feel real or convincing. The idea behind the series had potential, it just wasn’t well executed.

Right now, there are so many new Thai BLs coming out, and I get that production companies want to ride the wave. But lately it feels like many of them care more about fan events and product placements than making good, solid stories. Doctor’s Mine sadly feels like one of those rushed projects made to sell merch, not to tell a meaningful story.

In the end, this series didn’t deliver. Weak script, forgettable plot, no chemistry between the leads – it’s not one I would recommend unless you’re a hardcore fan of the actors. There are better BLs out there.

nonsense writing in the worst way possible, the actors deserved a better script

Overall: up until the end of episode 5 it felt old school Thai BL with the aggressive pursuit of a reluctant pursuee, but the terrible and nonsense writing at the end of episode 5 and after made my score plummet. Note that this review contains words/discussion that may be triggering. Based on the books "Gear & Gown" and "Extern" by Mynt. I haven't read the books and I reviewed the series based on its own merit. 10 episodes about an hour each. Aired on GagaOOLala uncut (not available in: Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, New Zealand, Korea) https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5571/doctors-mine-2025
Available worldwide ; YouTube Kongthup channel cut (not available in Japan) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_6IR1YkXRg&ab_channel=KongthupChannel ; YouTube Kongthup channel members uncut (not available in Japan and Thailand) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-3lmw1GIQMnDQdR2BDbYNrdcRc3azVoC&si=fCHe5QuQYLf7dXJA and Viu (Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Myanmar) uncut though someone said the first episode was cut so maybe some countries get cut and some get uncut. The cut version on YouTube cut down a NSFW scene by 2 minutes (it was in part 2).

Content Warnings: fight, blood, non con kisses, dub con sex, slap, non con touching, manhandling, coercion, *depicted rape that did not actually happen at the end of episode 5, gaslighting, homophobia, punches, fight, past non con touching

What I Liked
- Knight's mother
- chemistry/intimacy with the side couple (and eventually the main couple)
- showed condom use, talked about AIDS and PrEP
- Mild finally showed some interest/initiative in later episodes
- that Per stood up to his mom

Room For Improvement
- nonsense/terrible writing: how did the brother see something when 1 person was fully clothed?, he didn't tell his brother what he thought he saw and just kept punching Knight, everyone saying "trust me" and "I can explain" but then taking way too long to explain, terrible that Knight did more non con before explaining what actually happened
- some of the worst gaslighting I've ever seen in fiction including vomit-inducing lines such as "everything that happens has its reasons" and "what actually happened has a good side to it"
- the cliche 'seemed to be very drunk and then suddenly was sober' in episode 1, also he asked the guy not to do something and then the guy did that exact thing
- the series talks about consent and then has multiple characters ignore it multiple times
- finally in episode 7 we see why Knight was so interested, they needed to show this sooner as he seemed creepy (though saying how he liked that Mild couldn't contact anyone was also creepy)
- flashbacks to recent scenes
- some scenes went on for too long/slow pacing
- noble idiot trope and then Per acts like he couldn't find him when they go to the same school and also had no idea what was wrong?!!!
- a character was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and future doctors talked a bunch instead of immediately calling for help/applying first aid?!!!!
- draggy 3rd couple then rushed 3rd/4th couples
- that was one of the worst proposals either, so rude to put the love of your live through that

Wouldn't have watched it if I knew about certain story parts beforehand

If I had known there would be a convincing rape allegation, I wouldn't have started to watch the series in the first place. Shortly after the alleged rape is uncovered, so many things happened that I truly got upset about.
Like how Mild is shocked and runs away and his best friends don't manage to gab him? Like...really? He isn't running at first, just walking absentmindedly, then he gets away, being in such a condition? Nope...
The Mild cannot be found for several days and instead of filing a missing person's report of some sort (don't know how such things are handled in Thailand), his friends and family just sit around and "worry" and do nothing?
Then Mild return to resume the rehearsals for the romantic theater project in which he has to play the main role together with the person he suspects of raping him? And all his friends just watch and let the alleged rapist be near him? What the heck is going on?
Then finally, Knight gets the chance to tell the story and what "really" happened the night of the alleged rape and apparently there was no rape? Mild even had a short flash of memory about the rape, just like he had suppressed the memory (which would totally be understandable after such a traumatic event). But when Knight tells him that there was no rape, he just believes him? I don't get it. At all! Also the way the (married) big brother told Mild that it was not his (the married big brother's) position to decide if a rape deserved foregiveness (Well no, but suggesting that Mild should consider forgiving the man the believes raped him....no, just get away from the rapist!!!) and that everything happens for a reason (that's victim blaming, it implies that Mild somehow deserved to be raped) and advises him to go back and hear Knight's explanation (if you really think that Knight raped your little brother, you wouldn't let him go back to such a person, just...no!). And then the big brother dares to say that the good thing is that Mild now knows that everyone loves and cares about him because they are worried about him. Like...what kind of friends and family are they if Mild didn't know up until then?

The plot twist about the attempted murder, I didn't see that coming, I have to admit. I thought that Mayo would be the fuel of some jealousy between Kan and Per to fill some more screentime. What a nice surprise!

No offense to the actors, I liked what their work, factoring out what they apparently had to depict. I also liked the filming. But the story was a complete fuck up.

It's a shame there were no tags warning about the alleged rape. I probably wouldn't have watched the series or would have been able to digest it better if I had known beforehand that the rape didn't actually happen.

Grape plot line stay away

terrible plot where rape is glorified and the rapist isn’t facing any consequences and still allowed to pursue the person he potentially raped romantically with this type of situation I usually expect it to be revealed early on that it was a misunderstanding or another character was the rapist instead of the male lead. that is not the case so far they have yet to inform us if he really is and continue to insinuate that he did something non consensual to his love interest to the point of rape potentially. the love interest says stay away of course he doesn’t listen and keeps bothering him throughout the episode even going so far and to non consensually kiss him AGAIN and touch him I’m so over these types of plots in BL at this point it is not a cultural difference and just how Thai BL is it is 2025 and they need to do better

edit: I now know that he wasn’t the rapist but everything he still did during the time the love interest thought he was ignored his boundaries, his consent, and this entire show perpetuates this idea that rape can lead to love
