Calm and soothing slice-of-life drama with a found family trope

I was looking for a completed drama to binge watch and came across this one. Started with zero expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. The drama is very simple and healing, which I think is what made it stand out. The characters are all comforting in their own way and I liked how there was no villain/bad guy. I hate how some slice-of-life dramas are going particularly well and calming and suddenly there's a murder in the small town or something- they're so annoying. I'm glad this drama didn't have any situation like that.

The story centres around a mother and her daughter's relationship. They have lots of arguments, misunderstandings, and make ups and this is captured in the first couple of episodes. It was very hectic, emotions running high, and just overall messy with a lot of things going on. But as the drama and plot progressed, it became a more calming, slow paced, and a bit melodramatic (which I enjoyed).

The small town setting of the drama gave amazing cinematography. It not only was well captured, it also added a healing atmosphere to the calmness of the drama.

I particularly liked Lee Ji An's character- it was crafted very well. Her personality and nature was well written, and Yeom Jung Ah executed it perfectly. I've never seen any of her work, but after this, I'll definitely watch some!

The drama also has two couples (as there are two female leads), so romance is also a big theme in this series. Hyori and Bo Hyeon's romance was... alright. I liked the idea of it but I think the execution was lacking a tiny bit. Don't get me wrong, Choi Yun Ji's acting was great. But Kim Min Kyu was pretty stiff throughout the whole show... I've watched a few dramas of his and I think he's just usually like this, but its just not my cup of tea. On the other hand, I really enjoyed Ryu Jeong Seok and Lee Ji An's romance. They were so cute and I loved how they were each others' first love. There were so many heart-fluttering and nostalgic scenes- in particular, when they were in high school.

I loved how they crafted every character in this drama. They all had so much depth to them and all of the actors/actresses executed them very well. I loved how we got to find out everyone's backstory as the drama progressed.

One downside of the plot would be the one year time skip. I feel like they could've done a lot better with that but the drama overall was great 9/10.

p.s. I really like Choi Yun Ji. She's so pretty and great at acting! I've only had a tiny glimpse of her in Resident Playbook so I hope to see more of her work!! Oh and Yeom Jung Ah too!

IF YOU WANT FEEL REFRESHED WATCH IT

If you enjoyed Summer Strike and wished there were more scenes between the ML and FL, then you should definitely give this drama a try. Some parts of the story might feel a little unnecessary, but overall, it’s absolutely worth watching. The drama has such a soothing vibe—very similar to the feeling you get while watching the C-drama Meet Yourself. Honestly, I was surprised to see its low ratings, because it truly deserves more attention.

Going ok, nothing special

This is another drama. I might end up dropping. It's OK, nothing special is happening. It's kind of just following a predictable storyline that's been done over and over, but since only one episode comes out a week I'll probably keep watching the one episode. If I drop it ill updated here. This is more like a filler show to watch when you have no other hits airing or cant find anything amazing to watch that night lol

Sweet drama that deals with big life issues

I was in between dramas, and came upon this one by accident. So glad I did.
I really enjoyed it. It's a drama that deals with such tough life issues. This show covered it all, angst, anger, contemplating suicide, hurt, pain, loss, family, jealousy (ex wife) but most of all, love.
My biggest take away from this drama is that standing together, definitely makes you stronger.

Such a pure heartwarming drama.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The story isn't anything new, but they have done a wonderful job with the characters and the writing. I mean, they felt real. The emotions, the drama, the smiles. I could feel the sincerity behind them. It had some wonderful thought thought-provoking moments, moments that made me pause the show and think about my own life. It may not be that deep for everybody, but it certainly hit home with me.
Both of the main couples were so cute and lovely that I was equally rooting for them. The relationships developed naturally. Many times during the show, I felt like the characters were behaving the way I would. They were not some annoying characters written by a writer whose purpose was to needlessly create drama. The conflicts and the emotional moments felt like they had weight behind them. I am actually jealous of the relationships they had with their parents. I too have parents who absolutely love me, but growing up in Asian culture has made sure that I feel too awkward to ever express my love for them. This is something that I will work on, and maybe some day I too will be as comfortable around my parents as shown in this show.
Definitely give this one a try if you have the time.

Healing series with a bunch of great actors (veterans and newbies)

Short-lenght series (12 episodes), light, comforting, with an unusual and refreshing plot

PLOT: FL, a medical student raised by her single mother (FL2 - construction manager), runs away when she learns she has a brain tumor. Her mother ends up following her, and finds her first love (from high school), ML2, a divorced architect raising his son (ML) alone, in the village. FL + FL2 + best friend decide to settle in this village.

+++ Excellent actors, talented, subtle
+++ Well-written story, psychologically coherent. The dialogue is realistic but full of humanity. The story isn't about CEOs or the ultra-rich, but about the daily lives (full of small meaningful details :) of ordinary people, their emotions, their fears, their friendships, their loves.
+++ Gentle OSTs that fit well with the tone of the series.

=> Healing series with a bunch of great actors (veterans and newbies)
***************************************************

+++ Excellents acteurs, fins, subtiles

A Really good drama

I had stopped watching Kdramas and Cdramas for about a year, but finishing Love Takes Two really reignited my interest. The drama begins a little slow in the first two episodes, which is quite common, but then it grows into a touching and engaging story. The leads have wonderful chemistry, and there are heartfelt scenes that truly moved me to tears. This is one of those hidden gems you won’t regret watching, so don’t let the MDL rating hold you back.

One of the Underrated Drama

This is the first time I am writing review for a drama out of the 250+ dramas i watched till now. Because this is one hell of a underrated Drama.

First of all, I didn't have any knowledge or cast or anything about this drama, I only watched this because of a reel i watched in Instagram. But the Casting and Acting was perfect and the scenarios and screenplay was so good. Almost all the Episodes are almost Perfect.

Bad : The First Episode is Kinda draggy and one might drop it since it felt like a Blind turn on a road. But Once you get through it, it becomes the best.

Good : The Ost was nice, the screenplay and directing was quite brilliant, the 12 episodes felt perfect, not too much or not too short but perfect. The Acting was great, and it shown how people show care differently. The Romance is Nice and Humor is perfect. Not Cringy or slapstick humor but a good kind of Humor. And No Love Triangle ( this is for my fellow triangle haters ). Each Episode will make you cry or maybe not but I did cry. so Overall its one of the perfect Drama for me.

I could see the "writing on the wall" where it was going

Review

?/10. Can't rate it as I didn't finish it. I started to watch this. Watched a couple of episodes and then quit watching as I had growing concern things were not going to end happy. So, I looked up some reviews and, reading through, decided this was not my cup of tea. I am not in for "tear jerkers" or heavily weighted emotional ones. Life has enough sad, I don't need to watch it. I would say it is probably a lovely drama for those that like that and consider it cathartic. Some reviewers say it is good - well worth the watch. But I just avoid anything that tips too far on the sadness scale as I am an empath.

Synopsis

This is a South Korean slice of life family drama with some comedic elements woven in. There are 12, 62-65 minute episodes.

Lee Ji-An (Yum Jung-ah), is a single mother who has made a living for herself and her daughter by being a construction site manager, an unusual job for a female. Being a single mother in Korea is challenging and she has overcome the challenges with grit and determination. She is proud of her daughter, Lee Hyo-Ri (Choi Yoon-ji), a medical student, as any parent would be proud of their child's achievements. The situation changes though when Hyo-Ri is diagnosed with a brain tumor. That single change causes Hyo-ri to rebel against her mother’s expectations which fractures their close-knit bond. Hyo-Ri even decides to flee to a quaint countryside town in a camping van. She is still newly there when she encounters Ryu Bo-Hyeon (Kim Min-kyu), a warmhearted flower farmer. Love lives in unexpected places and the easygoing Bo-Hyeon warms Hyo-Ri's chilled heart. Upon pursuing her daughter to the countryside, Ji-An’s unexpectedly encounters Ryu Jeong-Seok (Park Hae-joon), Bo-Hyeon’s father and her first love. He has not stood still in his life and is now a reserved architect living a quiet life. New love, and old love emerge set against the backdrop of a close-knit community. Ji-An’s loyal friend Seon-Yeong (Kim Sun-young), remains by her friend's side ever the loyal supporter. Bo-Hyeon's charismatic friend, a surf club leader Tae-Oh (Yang Kyung-won) adds levity. Family dynamics, new love, second chance romance all play out in the course of this heartwarming series.

Senza dubbio Ji An. 💔

Love, Take Two è un drama bellissimo, dove amicizia, amore e famiglia brillano come non mai.
