I swear I love this show!!!!?

Don't even get me started. I'm not usually one to watch shows with toxic relationships but this show was too good! It surely had me stressed though. Tim is the worse. I hated him. He was soooo loving to Pai and everything. He knew he wanted him and to be with him. BUT STILL DID ALL THAT SHIT. It's makes me mad just thinking about it. I feel like I'm madder than Pai!!!!😭😭 Pai deserved so much better and deserved for Tim to beg on his knees for at least a year till he decides to love him like before. Ugh this was a good rant!

New Siwaj, slow down.

MY ROMANCE SCAMMER
In any normal context, while consuming any normal media that is an adaptation, I’d make the effort of at least consulting the bare minimum facts of the original source material, before considering giving my review. With Thai BLs, this does not change. What, just because the quality of these works is subpar at best, I will give them no such respect? You must have me confused. As much as I can, I like to do my due diligence in being interested in the source material. Unless the edits made in the adaptation are well needed for this to work on screen, or to be any good. So, imagine my surprise when a well deconstructed couple like U and North get nothing but crumbs of attention, and our main couple, Tim and Pai, get caricatures of their struggles instead of the fleshed out, introspective moments of pure dilemma given in the novel.
My Romance Scammer was set off to be a well, as it says in the title a ROMANCE comedy. That’s what the first pilot promised. And that was my first mistake: never trust the first pilots. Bonus mistake, never trust a New Siwaj promise. For, in the middle of the filming, starring actor Junior comes out of the woodwork to let us now that this is going to be a drama. As in, this show will dive deep into the characters, which should have also been a red flag: New Siwaj, as we known, can’t do character-driven stories even if he had a step-by-step guide for it. It happened with Faifah in Perfect 10 Liners, and it happened here with U and North. Which, I could concede on as we had 12 episodes, and a whole mess to resolve, some comedy relief was needed.
Still, here are my points: U and North weren’t a comedy relief. They were a weird mix of goofy, voice of reason, background noise. Their characters too dilute to have a true purpose on the show. Sure, a character can contain multitudes, but North’s and U’s were never fully defined, because there was no actual interest in diving into their background. North’s ex who broke his heart, U’s dilemma of resorting to do what his mother does, although he knows how everyone suffers from it at the end. The redeeming, the rekindling. It was too rushed. I’d say too out of character if we knew what kind of characters they are besides: goofy, airhead, naïve rich boy (literally all of Poon’s characters under Siwaj), and sincere, kind, genuine poor boy. That’s it.
Not like I expected any grey areas or complexity, but I wanted some cohesive narrative that could show me their shadows.
Because shadows we get with Tim and Pai, so that’s not my issue. My issue is that someone must have lost some pages of the script, because we were told that Tim’s parents abandoned him; yet he is the one asking for forgiveness. For resorting to scamming after being practically destitute, unable to finish his career and find a job to sustain himself, and also, being forced to help his parents pay THEIR debt. So, that was not only bewildering, it was bad all around. Nobody noticed? After the many times of reading the script? During filming? Editing? Or was this scene filmed first and the backstory later?
If that’s the case, that shows another problem I have with New Siwaj: he thinks he can handle all of that. Sadly, he can’t. You can’t possibly pretend to release 5 projects in the same year, and have them all be a hit. Even less any good. You can’t possibly focus on 5 projects at once, one of them being the mammoth called Fourever You with 5 couples, and have them all score any higher than a 5/10. The only saving grace for Siwaj is the acting. Because boy, were they acting. Junior has the range (graduated from the Nadao School) and here we revert back to his debut in Midnight Museum, where we saw a yearning, grieving boy. Here we have Tim, a smart, calculating yet sweet man, who in face of adversity strategizes, manipulates with surgeon-like precision. Yet, he is too soft-hearted to commit.
Now that’s a character description. We can do something with that. Junior did. And Mark, because he is also incredibly talented, and I can’t wait to see more of his acting range in 21 Twenty-One; bounces off Junior’s acting like a dream. I can’t sing enough praises about Mark’s acting in the wedding crash scene. I felt that in my gut. So, as I said, New Siwaj works with great talent yet he gives them absolutely nothing to work with. Feeds champions a strict diet of ice soup and boiled chicken with plain rice.
Because yes, U and North were lacklustre, but Ohm and Poon’s chemistry was pure gold. They felt comfortable, there was that invisible magnetic pull of attraction, undeniable and almost tangible between them. They just fit together, and it was absolutely beautiful to see Ohm on his goofier side. But, if I may have my last complain: where is the bed scene, New Siwaj?
So, to conclude: great premise, awfully executed yet brilliantly acted.

Overall a nice series, I have questions tho ?

I think this is a 8/10 for me. I have questions tho.
# So was Tim sleeping with all that woman that ended up crashing his wedding party?
# The younger cousin, why was he in the series, is he a special needs kid? Why does his mom baby him like that and even when he was staying by Pai, why the heck did Tim have to walk him to the bathroom to shower. That was just weird. He is not 5.
# Did I read it wrong in the beginning thinking that aunt is evil and up to no good.?
# What was up with Pai's hair...it looked too full at times, like a curtain or something, it looked too "big".
# Anyone else find it disrespectful that the grandpa outed Tim to his parents about being a scammer? I didnt like him much, he seems arrogant and a dickhead.

Scammed Out of Both Mark and Junior for Myself!?

This was very wholesome by the end of it. It was very messy, very questionable if I would forgive either of these scamming men even after they were on their knees begging for me back. Either way I enjoyed it! This is what I mean by some toxicity to move the plot along is alright sometimes! I really did end up loving both couples, I originally watched though because I wanted more Junior & Mark. I really like them both and if neither gonna end up with me its gonna be with each other LOL!

Loved It!

I found the basic idea very cute and somewhat comical.
I've actually been following JuniorMakr for a while (specifically since P10l), but I've only just started following OhmPoon, and I have to say I really liked them!
If I had to choose, I think I preferred TimPai's story a little more, I found it very mature in a certain sense
A light and fun series that also handled delicate themes very well.
I found the ending coherent and right for the story... and the songs were also quite catchy. I recommend giving the series a try; you won't be disappointed.

If you give it a chance you'll enjoy the show.

A totally worth while drama to watch,i binge watched 11 episodes at a go and in a few days watched the last episode.Mark and Junior are an adorable pair, because i did not watch P10L and dropped Revamp.I did not have much to say about them in terms of acting but they really did well in this project.Mark projected his emotions so well in the scene where the wedding hall was a mess,i pitied him very much.I do hope they get to star in more projects because they are amazing actors their jokes landed and their reactions to situations was hilarious,Mark's reaction to the gecko situation was hilarious and Junior's reaction while pumping the balloon when he heard Kuea was coming with North cracked me up.It had been a while since i watched Ohm acting, after Between us i tried watching 369 but dropped it and wasn't keen on his projects. As for Poon we can see his growth he is kinda mature-ish and still got the mischievous vibe with him.I got the feeling he was leading Ohm in most of the scenes and was comfortable with him despite them being somewhat a new pairing.
The wardrobe/costume for the main leads was AMAZING, their first wedding outfit was top tier. The locations were amazing too... Also is it because I watched it in a streaming site that i missed the ads that are normally shown in the YouTube episodes because i wondered where the 'usual' sponsors were from Lactosay, canon, the tea drink and cake there wasn't any food or drink sponsors in the scenes, why was that?

everything would've been better if timpai is in drama instead of romcom....

i honestly wanted to rate it higher than an 8 because i really love the theme, and the chemistry between the actors is so good. they had me invested from the start. but tim’s redemption arc just didn’t hit for me. when we as viewers already know how deeply pai loved him, it felt weird how lightly the story handled pai being scammed by the person he loved most. that kind of pain should’ve hit harder.

i think the main problem is this couple just doesn’t fit a romcom setup. they needed more angst, more drama, more time to really unpack the hurt and healing. instead, everything moved too fast because the show wanted to keep things light, and it made some important moments feel shallow.

unorth, on the other hand, fit the romcom vibe perfectly. even though u is a scammer too, north was the one chasing him first, wanting to marry him first, wanting him first. so it’s easy to root for them from the beginning. and they’re CUTE AF 😭 every time their scenes came on, i was smiling and blushing like crazy.

acting wise, mark impressed me. he has that thing where you can feel what the character feels without him needing to overdo it. he makes emotions land naturally. junior was decent, but i wanted more nuance. scammer tim and real tim felt too similar. i wanted clearer shifts in expression, energy, the way he looks at pai. make me see the difference between the lie and the real feelings.

the writing for the background characters was also lacking. the parents barely existed, and i kept wondering why pai seemed closer to his grandpa than his own family with no deeper explanation. tim’s family issues were solved way too quickly in one ep, and da zhan was kinda just there without much purpose.

so yeah, the story definitely has holes. but at the same time, it gave me feelings, and that’s why i still enjoyed it. the chemistry, the cute moments, the emotional pull all worked on me. but if i’m being honest, that 8/10 is me being nice because the writing alone wouldn’t get that score.

“A Romance Built on Lies… That Feels Real”

My Romance scammer is actually very interesting in its own way, especially if you like something a little messy and different.

When I started this drama, I was really excited because finally I get to watch something where Junior and Mark are the main characters 🤍 And honestly, they did not disappoint. Their chemistry and the way their story developed made it easy to stay interested.

The story itself starts with two scammers, Tim and Yu, who enter relationships for money. But as everything goes on, feelings start getting real, and that’s where the problem begins 😭 What was supposed to be just a plan slowly turns into something emotional, and everything becomes complicated.

I also really enjoyed Yu and North’s side because their story feels more chaotic and funny, but at the same time, it still has its emotional moments. North especially is just unpredictable, and it makes their scenes fun to watch 😂 And from what I saw, Poon really fits his role well, which made it even better.

One thing I liked is that the drama doesn’t feel too heavy, but it still gives enough emotional tension to keep you watching. It mixes romance, trust issues, family pressure, and a bit of chaos in a way that keeps things interesting.

Overall, it’s not a perfect drama, but it’s definitely entertaining. It’s messy, a little dramatic, sometimes funny, and at times surprisingly emotional 💔
Short take: they came to scam… but ended up catching feelings 😭

A lighthearted romantic comedy- True to it's concept

If you are looking for a light hearted romantic comedy that's easy to watch, this is the one for you. It has got some really cute romantic scenes, not cringe, full of comedy and a touch of emotional burdens of the characters.

I might be the only one who really loved the plot. Was it perfect? No. Was it thrilling? Kinda. But it made me stick till the end. This is my first time watching a romantic comedy with a plot like this and I really loved every bit of it. The comedy was never exaggerated. The romantic scenes truly felt domestic, like peaking into the life of two couples. The story progressed well in my opinion. It never felt fully flat. The character might look like they just showed their surface level personalities, but as we went through, we got to have the deep dive for each of them as they un-winded their emotional struggles. That made them felt more seen and relatable.

The direction, considering the director's previous work, was much more enjoyable. I actually was craving for each episode because. I really loved how the screen writer and director managed to find balance between the two couple's focus times which led to perfect flow of story progressions. That's why each episode was interesting to watch. I really loved the color grading that added a new dimension to the series. Special mention to Mark's stylist for giving him one of his best looks yet.

Honestly, I knew entire cast before MRS but I felt like I discovered all of these talented actors again. Mark really truly embodied his role as Pai. In every scene I could feel the facade of a tough person, always craving to be embraced with a little love. Junior, oh boy, he is such a fantastic actor because how do you play the same character with completely two different personalities? Tim before he got exposed vs after had so many minor changes that Ju nailed. Poon really flourished in this. Honestly he has always been good but in this he truly got to showcase his skill of subtle acting and facial expressions. It's been a while since seeing Ohm in a lead role and he absolutely slayed it. Those moments of helplessness with wide eyes searching for trust, I wanted to hug him so bad. Louis did an awesome job with his role. Kapook, even with so little screen time made sure she portrays that hypertension lady well. Title, Mond, Aun, Save with their random cameo made it more fun.

I loved every moment of the drama. It was not really something that would make full sense but the amazing chemistry and the wonderful cinematography with scenes filled with so much of laughter made it worth watching.

My Romance Scammer — Great Cast, Completely Wrong Pairings

The biggest disappointment of My Romance Scammer isn't the story. It's the way the story is told.

On paper, a romance built around deception, wealthy families, and redemption could have become an entertaining drama. Instead, everything is exaggerated to the point where it almost feels like a sitcom. Every episode follows the same rhythm: a revelation, a shocked reaction, an over-the-top confrontation, then almost immediate forgiveness before moving on to the next problem. After a while, I stopped taking the conflicts seriously because nobody seemed to learn anything from them.

The writing asks the audience to believe things that I simply couldn't accept.

As a scammer, I honestly couldn't imagine crawling back to the person I manipulated and expecting love to erase everything. Even less when the victims forgive so quickly. The series puts so much faith in the power of love that it sometimes feels like it belongs in a Disney fairy tale rather than a drama about fraud and betrayal. Rich people making one unbelievable decision after another, getting married almost immediately without even discussing a prenuptial agreement... I honestly wouldn't trust any of these characters to run the companies they're supposedly inheriting.

Ironically, I really liked the cast.

Mark Jiruntanin is incredibly handsome and has the presence of a fashion model. Unfortunately, he keeps falling into the same acting pattern I've noticed in his previous work. He constantly looks stressed, as though he's an introvert being forced to speak in front of hundreds of people. It suits certain scenes, but after a while it becomes repetitive.

Junior tries hard to sell every emotional moment, but for me something is still missing. His background in comedy is obvious, and while his comic timing works well, the more dramatic scenes never fully reached me emotionally. I understood what the character was supposed to feel, but I rarely felt it myself.

Poon Mitpakdee is naturally funny and incredibly likeable. He brings warmth to almost every scene he's in. My problem wasn't with him—it was with the pairing. With Ohm Thitiwat, I never felt the connection I was expecting. I kept thinking back to Ohm's work with Fluke Natouch, where everything felt effortless and emotionally natural. Here, something always seemed to be missing. Ironically, I've also found Ohm more relaxed and convincing in several of his heterosexual dramas than in this particular pairing.

That brings me to another thought I had while watching the series. As BL continues to evolve and more openly LGBTQ+ actors begin taking leading roles, I personally find myself paying much more attention to authenticity. That's simply my own impression, but in this drama I never completely believed either couple. They felt like actors performing a romance rather than two people genuinely falling in love, and that made it much harder for me to become emotionally invested.

The production itself is perfectly respectable. The pacing is energetic, the visuals are polished, and the comedy is clearly intentional. My issue is that the emotional side of the story never reaches the same level, making the entire drama feel much lighter than its premise suggests.

Final Thought

My Romance Scammer had a cast I genuinely enjoyed watching, but I never believed the relationships they were trying to sell. Between a script that asks for too many unrealistic decisions and pairings that never fully convinced me, I finished the drama feeling that the actors deserved a much stronger story than the one they were given.

rasanya kaya kurang mantep?

At first, I was really into it.
Tim was so much a manipulator that I even forgot he was not totally sincere... They were really cute and I did enjoy the first part.
But as soon as the truth was told, I don't know.. Maybe I wish it was more angsty.. It was not that great..

I'm disappoint because It wasn't bad, just half of the drama is not that good..
