Comfort Watch Alert
Boys in Love is another high school BL, but the plot feels fresh and different. Even though it’s set in a school, it never comes off as cliché. It’s such a feel-good, comforting series, every couple has amazing chemistry, and it’s so cute that I find myself smiling in every episode.Shane is this serious, smart, and super organized guy, while Kit is playful, charming, and always smiling. You can tell Kit likes Shane, but Shane’s a bit hesitant at first which makes their dynamic really interesting.
Kim and Mon
They’re just too cute. 🥰 They even kind of look alike! Both are bubbly and fun, and I love how they click. Their relationship does feel a bit rushed, but honestly, the instant attraction makes it believable.
Teachers Tan and Nat
They bring so much charm to the show. I especially love Tan, he’s naturally funny and adorable. Nat is the more formal one, but that just makes him even more lovable. Their personalities balance each other out perfectly. 🩷
The color grading is bright and vibrant, giving off such a youthful vibe. Visually, it’s beautiful, and the background music fits the mood so well, soothing and warm. The pacing is just right too, nothing feels slow or boring.
What I love most is that all the relationships in the series are healthy. There’s clear communication, and even when misunderstandings happen, they’re resolved quickly and maturely.
Overall, Boys in Love is a sweet, well-done series about friendship and young love. Definitely worth watching if you’re into feel-good BL with great chemistry and good vibes all around.

A Winnie The Pooh Story
Watching this series will no doubt put you into a diabetic coma from sugar shock. It is so overly sweet that it becomes a travesty. Enough with the prepubescent silliness of what an ideal image of young gay relationships are. These are NOT them. I am not trying to convince anyone that my assessment is correct, but it is time now for some serious reflections on how and what is presented as young gay men in love that is actually authentic. And this ain’t it! And you are doing a gross injustice to young gay, lesbian, trans, and questioning individuals by constantly portraying this nonsense where relationships between adolescent gay boys are so easy to develop, maintain, and be accepted and worst of all so nauseatingly sweet and sanitized. They are not. And every one of their problems and issues has easy solutions; they do not.Summarily, this series is passe, outdated, disparaging, and most of all does not have a modicum of connection to reality or candor. This is a Pollyanna world; not Earth 1.

It's cute and worth watching
I'd like to say that I wasn't gonna watch this at first, but then I realized Chokun was in it, and I loved him in Love Mix-Up so I wanted to see him in a BL so badly. In advance: I wasn't disappointed! The main couple is cute. I think Mick Metas is not that expressive yet, so I don't have much to say about his acting, but there was a scene that he cried beautifully. Luke's character is super cute, very doglike, sweet and someone who demonstrate feelings, unlike Shane, who is very rigid with his emotions and rationality, which is a trope I like. I just got frustrated with them a bit, since they wouldn't communicate well.
On the other hand, there was Kim and Mon!! I love them together. I love how they were so quickly in love and even though they kept having problems, Mon was always willing to talk it out. I just love a couple that talks things out and make up!!! This was definitely my favorite duo.
I really liked the third couple, if you can call it that. I guess they were building a ship for future shows? They were cute but it was a little too bromance for me. I know they were supposed to be a confused friendship, two best friends that like each other but are afraid to admit it to themselves... But they should've been more deeply developed in my opinion.
I honestly didn't like the teacher couple, I think Papang's character was too cringy. Even creepy in a way. I didn't catch much chemistry between him and Pod.
So, I think the show was fun and MonKim had my heart warm again. I loved that things were resolved healthily at the end.

Just Kids In Love, And I Loved Watching!
I honestly loved this series so much, from the very first episode to the very last, it just kept getting better. With each week, I found myself even more attached to the characters, their stories, and their little world. It’s the kind of fluffy, feel-good show that you can’t help but smile through. I loved it for both its flaws and its strengths. It’s pure comfort, the type of show you press play on, knowing it’ll make you feel warm inside. A proper serotonin boost. Something to sit back, relax, and enjoy without stress.Like the title says, it’s simply about boys falling in love– and being absolutely adorable while doing it. What I appreciated most is how the characters actually felt like teenagers. The actors looked their age, and the characters behaved like actual high schoolers, not in an exaggerated or childish way, but in a real, grounded one. Sometimes immature, sometimes surprisingly mature. Just… teens being teens, learning, messing up, and figuring things out.
And for me, that hit even harder because I watched it at the same age as them. I’m in 12th grade too, standing at the edge of high school and about to step into college life. Watching this felt like I was growing alongside them. Their worries about the future, college, growing up, it all felt very real. There was something kind of bittersweet about it, but also comforting. Like I had some fictional friends going through the same things at the same time as me.
Also I loved the no-uniform rule at their school! It added so much personality and color to an already vibrant drama. Every student had their own style, and you could genuinely tell a lot about each character just from the way they dressed. It was like their wardrobes told part of their story. Tar’s outfits especially were my favorite, they matched my own style a lot. But really, the whole cast looked amazing, and I just loved how colorful everything was. The color palette of the series overall was super cheerful and soft, just really easy on the eyes. It added to that feel-good, light vibe so much.
Shane & Kit
These two were opposites from the start, and that contrast had so much charm. Shane is academically smart but emotionally insecure, while Kit is emotionally intelligent and super grounded. They meet when Shane is asked to tutor Kit (who hates studying), and at first, Kit kind of drives Shane up the wall.
But what I loved most was how much they talked. Like, they really communicated. Whenever something went wrong or there was a misunderstanding, they talked it through. No dragging out drama unnecessarily, just honest conversations and sweet hugs. It honestly blew my mind how well they handled conflict. Kit is such a green flag, always giving affection, reassurance, support. He shows love through words, touch, acts of service, all of it. Just the best boyfriend. Shane, on the other hand, struggles with insecurity (especially due to family stuff), but it was beautiful watching him grow and slowly believe he can be loved. Their hugs absolutely melted my heart every time.
I also really liked Shane’s siblings and Kaiju! They were fun little additions to his story.
Kim & Mon
These two were just pure cuteness. We had love at first sight with Kim falling for Mon, followed by the awkward (and adorable) flirting, and then a hilarious accidental confession when Kim gave Mon a giraffe plushie that says “Kim loves Mon.” Peak high school romance energy.
They became a couple early in the series, so their arc focused more on couple dynamics, small arguments, little jealousy moments, and cute makeups. Mon would get annoyed, Kim would win him back in the sweetest ways, and they'd be stuck to each other again. They were very much that “we need to be together 24/7” type of high school couple, and it was so charming.
Mon is more academically inclined, while Kim is the emotionally mature one who tries really hard, even going out of his way to impress Mon’s mom! Total green flag energy again. Their relationship was playful and soft, but grounded in real effort and communication. I especially loved the doll Mon gave Kim at the end, full circle and so precious.
Plus I'll always remember how Mon went out to reag the Doraemon books after learning it's Kim's favorite so he has something to talk about.
Per & Tar
MY SILLY CUTIES. I genuinely adored every second of these two on screen. While they didn’t end up as a couple, their bromance was everything to me. You could just tell they were each other’s person in a way that’s hard to explain. They went from “we’re basically strangers unless we have mutual friends” to “we annoy the life out of each other but are secretly ride-or-die.”
Tar is loud, playful, and chaotic, while Per is quieter and more observant. They constantly bickered and roasted each other, every conversation was a new level of creative insult, but there was so much love under it. And when things got serious, they knew how to be soft too. Their friendship felt unbreakable.
And honestly, I liked that they stayed friends. It was refreshing. Not every important relationship has to turn into romance, and this one showed how deep and meaningful a platonic bond can be. Personally, I headcanon them both as aroace. Tar is curious about relationships because of the people around him, but Per just doesn’t care that much. I would’ve loved to see a queerplatonic relationship between them, that would’ve been perfect. But even as it was, their dynamic was just so good.
Tan & Nat
Even the teacher couple was cute! Again, total opposites who just worked. They had such a nice chemistry, and it was sweet seeing a more mature relationship sprinkled in.
Overall, I really loved this show. Despite its flaws, I’ll be remembering it for a long time. It brought me joy when I needed it, and it felt like a little cozy world I could return to each week. The colors, the softness, the characters, everything just came together into something that made me feel warm and seen. It gave me comfort and company in a really special way, and I’m definitely going to miss them all.

Very enjoyable
The story is simple but well told. It's admittedly sweet and childlike, but not excessively so.The actors are actually the age of their teenage characters, which really adds to the credibility. Plus the acting is solid.
The plot is fairly light but still manages to touch on deeper themes from time to time.
You never get bored. A perfect feel-good Sunday watch!

Thoughts Breakdown
If you are someone who's new in the bl world then this series is something that I'd recommend. It has a light storyline and a lot of fluff that will definitely send butterflies to your stomach. I am not kidding when I say that I'm giggling, squealing, kicking my feet, screaming into the pillow and whatnot when I was watching. But of course, there comes the struggles, it tackles various obstacles faced by high school lovers and the teachers as well. I do like how they solved problems very quickly to the point that it became a roller coaster of emotion for me because different couples have problems of their own lol (one second I'm smiling and the next, I am ripping my head out of frustration + because I somehow relate to the problems really well)After months of watching, I did realize that it may be too fast paced (I'm a big slow burn girly) the way it only has 12 episodes and there is a lot of characters with stories of their own might be contributing to this. I see a room for improvement in the acting given that most of the actors are new to the industry. They still managed to kill it anyways. Hoping to see more of them soon!
Overall, I love how they portrayed the different types and parts of relationships. Somewhere in the future if I want to watch a series with my friends or simply want to enjoy something, I will definitely come back to this series. I loved it so much my Sundays are about to be emptyyyyyy!!
PS: This is my first time writing a review here so I don't really know how it will go. ((:

CUTE!!!
I honestly had no intention of watching this show, but decided to give it a shot when it started airing and oh BOY am I glad I did! This show was unexpectedly good - the characters are realistic high school boys with the exact type of problems you'd expect high school relationships to have, and this realism really makes the show enjoyable. I think that Kim and Mon (ChokunAston) stole the show, but I really loved all the characters and would highly recommend this if you're looking for something cute and lighthearted.Shane (Mick) is top of his class and the first pick to be a tutor for Kit (Luke), who has never cared about school. While Shane is attempting to get Kit to care about his grades, Kit tries to get Shane to loosen up and have fun. As the two try to teach each other, they become closer and feelings begin to emerge. Meanwhile, Mick's friend Kim (Chokun) has always had bad luck with love, with most of his relationships ending before they can even really begin. It's love at first sight when Kim sees the new transfer kid Mon (Aston), and even though his friends fear it will end within a day, this crush blossoms into much more as Kim and Mon get closer. However, all relationships come with problems, and navigating the end of high school while figuring out a relationship is never easy.
Truly, the best word to describe this show is "cute" and I mean that in the sense that every couple was adorable! This show reminded me a lot of s1 of Heartstopper, mostly because of these new relationships and high school problems plus some super fun and cute editing in the show. While none of these couples were known pairings or anything beforehand, they all did a WONDERFUL job portraying these characters. It might not have the deepest or most intense plot ever, but the lightheartedness of the show was such a breath of fresh air. I'd highly recommend this one if you're looking for something on the lighter, more fun side!

All Shine, No Story
All the actors were adorable and worked really hard, which makes this outcome all the more disappointing. The story was extremely clichéd and lacked any excitement. It was not entertaining at all. This is the first time I've seen such a terrible script in a GMM BL series. I watched all 12 episodes, but it felt like nothing more than a music video. The GMM production team really needs to reflect on this. It's absolutely not worth watching. Was this review helpful to you?

It was missing an ingredient
It was fluffy, but pretty blandActing:
It was fine. Nothing amazing, nothing horrendous. Everyone was cute and I think the casting was good. The story didn’t call for any really serious acting and they are also like normal young dudes doing normal young dude stuff so it was pretty fitting.
Writing:
I don’t understand the point of this story. It wasn’t a grand romance story and it also didn’t have comedic writing. To me, they should have either had a big and interesting central theme connecting all the couples stories or just focused in on one of them more with a more interesting plot with a main conflict. I don’t know, it was just too simple and realistic without a flavor of either serious conflict or real comedy. Meh.
Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:
Chemistry was fine, they are young dudes falling in love for the frist time so it was fittingly messy and awkward. This is a mediocre romance story, just your run-of-the-mill falling-in-love plot. It started off alright with the tutor/student and guy in a shell/guy who gets him out of his shell situations, but then it fell flat. Kissing was cute and fitting to the story.
Music/SFX:
Music was alright, your normal cutesy drama music. SFX were also fine, goofy where it was called for.
Definitely not a noteworthy story. Pretty colors and cute young lads were the highlights.
Now, for some highlights from my notes:
- Not the impending study abroad trope
- Love a cat theme
- Cute cute
- Awe, my poor baby left on read
- *Now talk it out, now talk it out*
- I don’t like this teacher guy
- Kim so real with his obsessing over dumb things and being an overbearing puppy-love-struck idiot
- Manipulative little shit, too
- Am I supposed to be rooting for this bespectacled weirdo..?
- I’m sorry, what? They’re just dating in high school, it’s not like homeboy got down on one knee? I fail to see the issue here
- I feel like the main couple has had such little screen time
- Why do I dislike these teachers being together I usually love teacher x teacher but glasses pisses me off and the other guy is a little too Mr. Nice Guy
- Shane pissin me off fr
- My poor bb boy, just eat the fucking shrimp, dude
- “If you leave, I won’t be chasing after you” BRUH
- Who in the ACTUAL fuck serves non-alcoholic beer at a party…?
- At least the dude you were dared to kiss was real cute
- Lmao hooking up with your partner is the safety of your own home has nothing to do with the reputation of your school, my guy
- There HAS to be animation schools/online starter classes to help you build a portfolio in Thailand even Youtube and a couple software programs will get you somewhere
- Ending on Valentine’s day instead of graduation was an odd choice

The Perfect HS BL
This was such a great feel good series. I’m really going to miss it. The entire cast did so well and I hope that we’ll see more series with them in any form. The cinematography was so good and the acting was pretty good especially from a lot of cast that are new in the industry. This BL was also great for all ages and the storylines were universal. I saw my younger self in so many of the storylines. I really think HS BL like this is so important and it really sucks that we don’t get many HS BL anymore when the genre is literally called boys love. I’m so thankful to GMMTV for continuing to give us family friendly HS series here and there so the youth can also watch BL and GL.Was this review helpful to you?

The thrills and tribulations of being a teenager
Being an actual teenager, it is no way perfect - but that's exactly why it is perfection. And that's exactly why Boys in Love is a perfect ode to being a teenager. The story didn't quite catch on, at least for me. As I see it, there was no real plot - the entire series was based around being a high school senior. Not saying that it's not a good prompt, but I like it when my stories have a direction. The series sort of chronicles that weird time between being a student in school and a university student called 12th grade, but even just as a diary/journal series, I think the plot could have been better explained and executed.
But the true charm of Boys in Love lies in nostalgia - that feeling of first love, the stress of studies, the smallest of achievements that felt monumental and the stakes, which in retrospect, were not all that high. You're transported to those days when you were taking pictures with your friends when you could because phones weren't allowed in class, when you had all your plans neatly co-ordinator on your journal or pinned up on your poster board. It just feels incredibly transportive, even if the things the characters are going through in the series aren't the ones you personally went through, the emotions are the same.
Those moments of growing up, of change and confusion that made you happy, sad, angry - seem wonderful all the same.
Now, this was primarily a romance, even with it's moments of the life of teenagers, so coming to the actual couples:
Shane and Kit - they were really cute. Started out with a classic enemies to lovers storyline and by episode 12, they actually had quite a bit of depth to their relationship. They communicated quite well, but they are teenagers after all. And because of that, a lot of their relationship was focused on the eventual outcome of things. Ton of emphasis on the outcome of their relationship, the outcome of their studies - it was always about an end goal in all their conflicts and honestly? Understandable. Every decision made during that time feels like a "this is it" decision and I like the way they had both Shane and Kit be unreasonable but still have the strong sense of wanting to move forward and grow. Their love story reminded me of so many people I know, but their relationships were a little more dramatic than Shane and Kit's.
Mon and Kim - they had a decent start, a very cute love at first sight - strong infatuation love story, but beyond that, I just felt it to all be very surface level with Kim and Mon. They were cute, of course, but unfortunately, their arc didn't do much for me. They had some great moments, for example, there were plot points about being more open and trusting, about being more self sufficient in a relationship. The thing is, a lot of it was Kim and Mon growing as individuals, not really as a couple. And I love individual character growth - I do, so unbelievably much, but I didn't really see their dynamics as a couple grow, they were literal teenagers in love and I wish I enjoyed their love story more than I did. It was all in from minute one, and not having the opportunity to see how their bond developed was a bit of a disappointment.
Khru Tan and Khru Nut - looking at me going from not appreciating two teenagers in love to raving about two adults who behaved like two teenagers in love. I loved these two together, they were awkward and sweet and watching them in a series about twelfth graders didn't feel out of place because it genuinely felt like they were each other's first loves and were figuring out romance for the first time. There wasn't much we saw of them (they were not one of the main couples), but what we did was two individuals grow more confident and self sufficient, while developing a relationship - which is where they nailed it. Even though I would have liked for their story to be more fleshed out, I did appreciate their cute and weird bond.
Per and Tar - weirdly enough, my favourite couple was the couple that wasn't a couple at all. They had their cute romantic moments, they were the epitome of old married couple and they stole the show everytime they showed up on screen - almost literally not a lot of times, but boy did they steal the show. Their friendship was absolutely beautiful and it wasn't smooth sailing, Per and Tar's entire thing was a "will they - won't they" situation, which even they seemed to recognize. Their's was an established friendship, so you could completely understand where the strong bond came from, and even when they had some misunderstandings, they talked it out very maturely while still maintaining their adorable banter and easy dynamics. They were my absolute favorite, a couple of friends, with the old married couple vibes and a few romantic moments.
Genuinely though, this made me happy. Even without a plot, this made me happy and that's all you want sometimes, to just smile through a drama and I guarantee this can do that. I hope the review convinced you to give this a chance because it's worth a watch, just go for it ♡

WELL, THEY WERE DEFINITELY IN LOVE!!
Boys in love, what was it about? Well, boys in love!! Boys in love is a nostalgic reminder of how it feels to fall in love for the first time, and how messy, awkward, and wonderful that can be.Set against the backdrop of a new school term, this series delivers exactly what it promises: innocent romance, genuine chemistry, and relatable coming-of-age struggles.
It's not the most groundbreaking story you’ll find in the BL genre, but what makes it work is the sincerity and simplicity of its execution.
The main couples, Shane & Kit and Kim & Mon, are two sides of the same coin. Shane is the perfectionist tutor reluctantly drawn to Kit’s chaotic charm, while Kim is the shy, daydreamy boy crushing hard on the new student Mon. These characters don’t rely on tropes as much as they reflect real personalities: insecure, hopeful, and sometimes scared to admit their feelings.
Special credit goes to Chokun and Aston (Kim and Mon) whose natural chemistry makes even their quietest scenes feel loud. Their glances feel loaded. Their awkward silences? Completely endearing.
Underneath the romance, Boys In Love also explores themes of self-acceptance, friendship, and breaking expectations, especially the unspoken ones that society, school, and even family place on young people. There’s a softness to how the show handles identity, it doesn't rush to label everything. It just lets these characters feel what they feel.
FLAWS:
The slow pacing might not be for everyone. Some episodes feel more like emotional snapshots than major plot moves. And while the chemistry between leads is strong, I feel like we could've gotten more from the other couple(s). The dialogue, at times, dips into cliché, but never enough to distract from the overall charm.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS:
Boys In Love isn’t trying to be the next genre-defining BL but it’s trying to make you remember your first love. And in that mission, it succeeds beautifully. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, sincere, and just a little bit awkward (in the best way), this one deserves a spot on your watchlist!! (also I'd say the cat is a HUGE bonus)
