A Happy Pill
A very sweet and innocent high school series with neither the story nor the characters standing out that much or having a significant impact to me as a viewer at least. The plot development is consisted of either fast problem resolutions or sub plots that don't really contribute to the story. The series could have certainly benefit from a lesser number of episodes or alternatively by exploring the characters more, outside of their relationship, so they could get fleshed out properly. As for the young actors, they did well. I found all the pairings well matched, but I'd say in terms of story and development, the main couple of Kit and Shane, was the strongest and most interesting to watch. The character of Shane was the best in terms of writing, for me, and I enjoyed Luke's acting style the most.
Having said all that, I do recommend the series to anyone who wants to take a break from heavy dramatic shows and relax. It's well made, with consistent writing and good direction, and the amount of cuteness and fun moments in this show is literally healing and heart warming.

NEW COMFORT SHOW !!
I loved this series so much, like honestly. I love high school romance shows so much. I loved how everyone in the show talked about their feelings, which is awesome because most adults cannot do it, lol. I loved all the characters in their own ways, and I’m glad that the characters had some flaws in them as well, it makes it feel realistic. Like, when one of the couples argued they talked about it, I loved it. I was really scared about Kim and Mon, Kit and Shane breaking up but in the end that didn’t happen BECAUSE THEY TALKED ABOUT IT. I need more shows where the couple(s) communicate. The only thing I’m picky about though is that:
TAR AND PER SHOULD’VE GOTTEN TOGETHER AT THE END. I was like “just trust the process.” I did and NOTHING. I’m pretty upset that Ken and Paul are only friends in almost everything that they’re in together. ‘The Heart Killers’ sure, they were best friends and we didn’t see much chemistry, BUT IN ‘BOYS IN LOVE’?!?!? Per literally wanted Tar to be his boyfriend, YOU CAN SEE IT IN HIS EYES. That’s why I gave this series a 9.5 instead of a 10. GMMTV GIVE KEN AND PAUL A CHANCE PLEASE.
my favorite ships in order (TW: OPINION):
- Shane & Kit
- Tar & Per
- Kim & Mon
- Tan & Nut
again, I love them all in their own ways, but Shane and Kit has my heart.

Hopeful, honest, intimate young love
This show was my comfort watch for 12 weeks, and the cast became my comfort cast. I loved so many aspects of it, from the diverse portrayals of relationships to the honest conversations about sexuality, love, dreams, failures, and the real challenges teens face. But in this review, I want to focus on Kit and Shane because their story resonated with me deeply. They're both written as subversions of familiar character tropes, Kit, the aloof rich boy, and Shane, the studious class topper, yet they defy expectations with their emotional intelligence. They are vulnerable and intimate. They gradually become their best selves because of each other. They share the kind of love that’s worth fighting for. Kit is one of the most loving, caring, and honest boyfriends I've ever seen portrayed in any BL. Shane didn't grow up with a model of a healthy, loving relationship, but in the end, he has the chance to become that example himself.

How teenagers act when they’re in love
A very cutesy BL with no drama, just youth being in love. There’s nothing notable about this show except for the chemistry of the three couples, namely, Kim-Mon, Per-Tar, and Teacher Nat-Tan.Chokun and Aston brought me to watch this drama, and they did not disappoint. They perfectly suit their jolly and dramatic characters. The confession scenes from them are just the cutest. Smiling Chokun is so handsome. They even kissed several times, and I’m loving it.
Per-Tar, on the other hand, ignites the flame of romance during the last few EPs. They became the couple I always look forward to in the next EPs. The dog and cat fights are my cup of tea. I want more of them, and hopefully, they can have another drama playing as a BL couple since we only got to see a glimpse of their pairing from this show.
Both Teacher Nat and Tan keep up with their young folks. I adore it so much that one is super classy and serious, while the other one is clumsy and talkative. A polar opposite but they perfectly suit each other.
As far as you noticed, I did not include Shane-Kit as a couple that showcases chemistry. Because they did not manage to mesmerize me. I tried to like them, but all I can feel from their couple is being bland and boring. Individually, they have a likable storyline, but being paired together does not help it at all. I am just disappointed that they are the main couple but failed to reach my expectations.
For these reasons, the drama received a high rating from me on its first few EPs but inconsistently handled a proper plot on its latter EPs, so I lowered the overall score due to this. Nothing special, but not bad at all.

A refreshing story about young love – what a gem!
I love this show so much!!! If Gelboys and I Told Sunset About You exposes the toxic nature of relationships and brings out the worst of the social media era, Boys In Love is its wholesome coming-of-age counterpart. It’s a comfy, heartwarming show that will put a smile on your face after a weary day. But it’s not all just fluffy teenage love.
The teenage anxiety and confusion surrounding self-identity and relationships is real. But it is also the process of becoming that is so rewarding to watch.
An underrated point is that the characters are relatable and thoughtfully-constructed. Thankfully, the show wasn’t overly silly. Nor did it try too hard with the coming-of-age stuff. The storyline, while largely wholesome and feel-good, also had some realistic bits in between where teenagers were just being teenagers.
Verdict: Yes, 100% would recommend this.

for the slice of life anime lovers
my oh my.. what an ATTRACTIVE cast we have here with new main lead faces. if you love slice of life animes.. this series is for you! now directors, writers, producers.. please allow teens to be miserable. yes, i know.. sounds crazy. there were so many things that this series just completely glossed over, especially regarding shane's utterly miserable home-life. they present shane with the obstacle of forcefully leaving thailand to live with his mom, and yet it was all resolved with what seemed to be a joke. the series constantly built up suspense and concern from the audience only for the problem to be solved like nothing, i found myself constantly disappointed and unattached to the series because of this. even down to the final scene, i'm left with no connection to the characters other than to kit's eyes.for my final critique, i wish there was more of a slowburn with atleast ONE of the couples, by episode 8 all the couples were already established. i was waiting for per and tar to finally address their feelings but it's like the directors thought they wouldn't have enough time to develop them, which is completely unbelievable since the audience had to sit through way too many scenes of kim revolving his whole personality around his boyfriend. so nonetheless i was disappointed by their lack of development, especially since they (sue me) probably had the best chemistry..

Truly a gold nugget of a show
This is such a cute, comforting show, I loved every second of it.Chokun and Aston were of course a highlight (the way I was grinning like an absolute lunatic every time they were on screen), but I truly think that the entire cast did an amazing job. They could not have gotten better actors for any of these characters.

Will catch you off guard!! ?
💖 Spoiler Warning of course 💖Since there are 4 couples to talk to, I am going to talk about the plot in general.
Starting this series, I have very low expectation because the actors are from the new generation of GMM actors so I was just watching it for fun since I have nothing to watch and oh my it caught me by surprised. While the plot is seem fairly simple on paper and actually it is, it works. The production caught the feeling of the high school vibe really well, with the teachers, the students, the music, the costumes and the filter. this weirdly bright and colourful filter they use for this series work so well in their favour. there is not one character from the main/support role that I do not like, I truly feel for every characters here which is new for me because I don't like BL series where they have like a dozen couple in one series.
the casting here also is so good because surprise surprise, they actually look like a bunch of high schoolers and the casting of Pod and Papang as the teachers also work surprisingly well. They all look like their characters which you can't say a lot in the industry where they snatch every good looking person off the street to be on tv no matter the character. (these kids highkey act better than some of the seniors from the company ngl) 🎉
One thing I appreciate the most from this series is it is in the universe where being gay is so normalized for high schoolers and everybody that we as a viewers can focus more on the trope like jealousy, etc, we need to bring that energy more to in real world.
🎨 Kit (Luke) & Shane (Mick): The story of Shane and Kit is fairly cliché as one is the smart kid that needs to tutor the not so smart kid which is an overdone trope at this time of era but for me personally, I do love a little bit of cliché in the world where every BL series try hard to stand out with their out of the box plot. Each characters bring the best of each other's which is nice to see as its not only one sided character development. their struggles as a couple and individual slowly unveil as the series go on and none of it feels rush from my view and I appreciate that a lot. (also I almost chocked on myself when I learnt that Mick is Win Metawin biological little brother)
🍦 Chokun (Kim) & Aston (Mon): this pairing is absolute fluffball, they are so cute together and both of the actors look very natural doing the characters they were assigned for which brings a very smooth watching experience. Their story is actually really weird to analyse because they became a couple really quick even before they knew each other that well which actually happened a lot among teenagers so their whole deal is they learning about each other and facing struggles together such the possibility that Mon is Bisexual or Kim is very paranoid as a person. at some part you would be like "ugh miscommunication" but then they actually talk like talk talk and not I am sorry and that is which I appreciate (this also intended to the other couples as well). Overall I love their dynamic I would like to take a second to applaud Chokun's acting improvement since I first saw him on My Love Mix Up.
🧸 Ken (Rer) & Paul (Tar): their story is even weirder to analyse because they actually did not officially became a couple like the other two BUT for some reason I like it because they actually do care for each other and have feelings for each other but there is this silent agreement that they will not leave each others side and I interpreted their dynamic that both of them are not ready for relationship yet but neither wants to leave the other side so I hope they make a little mini series in the future to see everyone in the university setting instead to show their growth.
🥂 Pod (Nut) & Papang (Tan): making an older couple among these teenagers is such a smart move because it gives the viewer a break from watching teenagers for 12 episodes straight and also it shows that adult also has a relationship and self problem and that being adult does not just instantly remove the problems teenagers face. anyways, these two as pairing work surprising well and I don't have a lot to say since their story is very straightforward so it's easy to understand.
overall, the plot resonates to me a lot especially the plot where they all struggle what path they want to take for their future. this for me is the definition of adorable to the max, everyone I just want to pinch their cheeks and this might be my comfort series in the future. I highly recommend it 🏫

a great show that got nuked by bad character writing
This show started off so well and then it became genuinely unbearable to watch. I would give it an 8.4 so an 8.5 out of 10. I would say give it a chance because the actors are adorable. I am gonna say what I liked, what I did not, and then an overview.I think this show started off phenomenal and it was because of the actors. For most of the actors, this was my first time seeing them and they did fucking great. All great actors, with great chemistry. Starting off with our first couple Luke and Mick. Luke did a phenomenal job because his character was genuinely getting on my nerves. I think that he really brought his character to life and you could never tell that he isn't an 18 in high school and actually a 21-year-old man. Fucking fantastic. Oh, and he has the sexiest eyes ever oh my lord. Next up Mick, CONTINUING THE FAMILY BLONDLINE AND DOING IT BETTER. I think Bright and Win did great together in their show but they have miserable chemistry I can't even lie lmao. Just two sexy brick walls kissing on g. But Mick holy fuck, him and Luke have so much chemistry and he carries it on his fucking back. Oh my god, I love them. Next up Chokun and Aston. Aston is actually the reason I watched it in the first place, these two are great actors and they brought their characters to life so much that it made me not wanna finish the show lmao. Two very insufferable characters I can’t lie, but they have killer chemistry and are great actors. And Aston is so fucking hot especially with those dimples, bro you dont even need Chokun I'm right here baby. And lastly Ken and Paul, I have seen Ken before but these two are so good and I think they are both good actors, and even if they were a side SIDE couple, they did a fantastic job. AND OUR TEACHERS, the best part in this whole show I can't even lie. I felt like I was sneaking around with them it was so fun and they kept me wanting more oh my lord. What else did I like? The plot at the start. I think it was because I was also in my final semester of senior year I related to this so fucking much it was crazy. And that’s what had me hooked. This show is also so fun and cute I can’t even lie. I loved the sound effects, the costumes, and the irrelevant side characters. I also really enjoyed how much they brought high school to life and not just Thai kids' high school. They truly brought the universal high school experience to life. Of course, I didn’t get my high school romance, but I too was stressing over tests, over friends, over clubs, and worst of all, college. And I think this show did a great job of bringing that all to life. I think that is all for now, I may come back during my overview and add some more. Another thing I really liked was the KISSES. Oh my god, they were so cute I can't even oh my lord. Would watch again just for the kisses and the all of the couples' chemistry.
What I didn’t like. Around episode 9 the show got so unbearably boring and hard to watch and our second couple is to blame. The back and forth between those two about them and their BULL SHIT FUCKING PROBLEMS made this a hard watch and I had to force myself to sit down and finish this. Oh my fucking god you guys suck, oh my lord. It is truly nothing against the actors, it is just shity plot writing. Another thing with the plot I didn’t like is that I feel like we don't really do anything this entire show but argue. Of course, that is senior year, but they could have added a little more plot instead of jumping around and back and forth. Made this a very hard watch. Yeah, the whole plot went to shit at the end and that is my main criticism. Other than that I don’t really have anything else. One unrealistic part of this show that isn’t really a dislike but I dont know where else to put is NO ONE TRANSFERS SCHOOLS IN THEIR SENIOR YEAR. If you fucking do that you won't be able to graduate on time. Mons' mom, or wait whatever his name was, his mom. She was so annoying oh my god, genuinely was cock blocking all of our couples and made this incredibly repetitive very fast.
Okay, let's look at my thoughts during the episodes. “Guess who in a couple of hours will no longer be a senior in high school. ME!!! REALISTIC AF BECAUSE ME EVERY TIME I SEE A HOT GUY.” “That kiss was adorable. I love this so far. It's a little boring but I am also having fun.” “Adorable ass show. I am so obsessed. We’ve had all our couples kiss and the teachers kiss, zeesty show.” “Also losing two children on a field trip is a lawsuit waiting to happen.” “Everyone's love is different and that's the great thing about love lmao. IT'S A FUNKYYYYY. When I tell you everyone drinks at these funkies. You can have fun without drinking. The teachers stole the show for me. FUNKYYYYYYYYY.” ME WHEN FUNKYYYYYY. “Trying to seduce him and shit to help him get a new office.” “I'm not saying it's bad because there are no sex scenes, shows dont need sex scenes to be good. I'm saying it started off really strong and towards the final episodes they killed this show, like put it straight through the dirt. And I can't my lord.” “You all better lock in and give them a better fucking show.”
And yeah. I think just watch it for the chemistry and acting and not for the shity character and plot writing. Okay bye!

Absolutely beuatiful
I genuinely love this show. the actors are all adorable and I truly enjoyed how they all communicated with each other, I really liked how they worked through their problems with each other and I also love Mons mum I thought I would hate her but I truly get where she's coming from and why she was like that. the casting was great and I loved the chemistry between them, this whole series is just adorable and I'm honestly here for it.Was this review helpful to you?
Wholesome, Not Hollow: Why Boys in Love is the Soft Escape We Need
Boys in Love is so sweet it might just give your therapist a cavity. This school-set BL series foregoes typical angst for pure affection, weaving three parallel love stories founded on mutual respect, gentle misunderstandings, and the kind of healthy communication most of us only dreamed of at 16. There’s no blackmail, no power imbalances, and certainly no dramatic goodbyes in the pouring rain. It almost feels too good to be true.Yet, it undeniably works.
The series centers on a close-knit group of students, along with an endearingly awkward pair of teachers, as they navigate the complexities of school life, friendship, and first love. Each central pairing offers a distinct emotional journey: a shy genius finds connection with his rebellious student, a hopeless romantic meets his enigmatic new classmate, and a curmudgeonly veteran teacher shares his office with a bright, new colleague. The chemistry isn't flashy, but it’s deeply authentic, forged through shared glances, subtle character development, and quiet acts of care.
What truly elevates Boys in Love isn't a shocking twist or a dark subplot; it’s the series’ profound conviction that kindness is, in itself, compelling. Even when life delivers its inevitable messiness—divorcing parents, academic stress, diverging future plans—love can remain a steadfast anchor. It’s the comfortable, familiar embrace of a favorite hoodie in BL form.
Is it overly idealistic? Perhaps. But in a genre often drawn to toxic tropes and manufactured drama, Boys in Love stands out for its refreshing earnestness. It doesn't penalize tenderness; it celebrates emotional honesty. In a world that often feels overwhelmingly loud and cynical, this quiet, gentle storytelling isn’t merely desired—it’s essential.
In the end, Boys in Love isn’t just about falling in love—it’s about creating the kind of world where love has the space to grow gently, without fear.

the CUTEST
This show was actually so cute and wholesome. I love how the characters are so related and specially as a teenager. Shane with his "its all about the future" mindset and Mon with his worried about him and Kim being seperated, the "unreasonable" fights he had with him. (which is totally not unreasonable) Also, the vibe with show gives is so wholesome and kept me entertained the whole time. It kinda gave heartstopper vibes with the little parkles, things and sounds coming up on the screen when they feel something special. It was just so conforting and comfortable to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
