obsessed. period.
I’m pretty sure I just watched my new favorite bl show and now have a new favorite bl couple. omgggggggggg, this show was so friggin good.Chance and Guno had THE BEST chemistry. Lord, that size difference. Chance was amazing. His nose was so attractive, like wtf?? And Guno’s smile is breathtaking.
I adored the friends. Love when the girl characters are supportive. Adds so much depth to the story.
Great story, great pacing. Slice of life type story that I just devoured.
Just, seriously obsessed.

OMG I have this series seen but then I remember i haven't given it a review because are you kidding this series was so peak like i need wat'r right now , OK fr let be serious nowI don't even know where to start because Secret Lovers absolutely ruined me in the best way possible.
This wasn't one of those shows you casually watch in the background. This is the type of series that grabs you by the throat, refuses to let go, and somehow has you smiling, screaming, kicking your feet, and questioning your emotional stability all in the same episode.
The chemistry? Absolutely insane. Every look, every smile, every bit of tension between them had me completely hooked. It never felt forced—it felt natural, like these two characters were pulled into each other's orbit no matter how hard they tried to fight it. Watching them slowly open up and fall for each other was so satisfying that I forgot I was watching a drama.
And don't even get me started on the acting. They didn't just play their characters—they became them. Every emotion landed exactly where it needed to. I laughed with them, stressed with them, and got so attached that finishing the series genuinely left me feeling empty.
What I loved most is that the romance wasn't just there to be cute. It had depth. It had vulnerability. It made you care about these people beyond the love story itself.
By the end, I was just sitting there staring at my screen thinking, "Now what? How am I supposed to move on from this?"
If you're looking for a BL that delivers chemistry, emotions, beautiful moments, and characters you'll probably think about long after the credits roll, Secret Lovers deserves a spot on your watchlist.
10/10. No notes. I wish I could erase my memory just to experience it for the first time again.

The couple carries it — the story, less so
The chemistry between the leads is what makes this worth watching. Warm, believable, and the friends-to-lovers setup actually lands — two people who've known each other since childhood, one university play, and then a moment where a line gets crossed and nothing quite goes back to how it was. You root for them, and that counts for something. What lingers afterwards is mostly just them. The plot itself left little impression — it fades in a way that's hard to pinpoint but easy to feel. Not because anything goes wrong exactly, just because nothing sticks hard enough. The series is pleasant while it lasts, but it doesn't follow you out the door.
If you're in the mood for low-stakes, feel-good friends-to-lovers with genuine on-screen warmth, this delivers. Just don't expect it to stay with you for long.

One of the Best Sensual Romances in Recent Times!!
Someone commented on our Twitter/X post that “We have another Sorn & Jun on our hands” and I laughed out loud because it is so true!!This show starts with a punch, the pilot episode begins with the main leads kissing each other passionately (*ahem* in a restroom). You are left with questions like “What? How? Why? Who are these two? Where is the character introduction?”. And thus begins this story. Starring Chance & Wang Jyun Hao in lead roles, the story focuses on childhood friends, Han Tuo & Lu Jun Xi. They are actually a trio with Lin Xiao Yang (Lin Yen Tzu). They became friends when ten years ago, Han Tuo moved to their neighborhood. Shy and reserved, Han Tuo didn’t speak much because his mother had abandoned him. That was until Jun Xi gatecrashed into his life, and they became close friends. In the current scenario, Han Tuo grows to become the college heartthrob, moving through relationships at a fastening speed while poor Jun Xi finds it difficult to even confess his feelings to his childhood crush, Xiao Yang (or, so he assumes).

well that was…. something.
When i first started to watch this series i was actually very excited because i saw it all over my fyp. I was actually very into it in the beginning of the first episode because the trope is the classic best friends to lovers and its actually one of my favorites. But after a short while disappointment came through because the progression into the story is least to say terrible. Everything happened so fast and it got to the unreasonable level of toxic pretty quickly. While i was there waiting for some wholesome comforting storyline the progression felt like a literal slap across my face. I do not know if it gets better after they are done with the toxic no communication phase but even if they do, i just cannot watch through series like this. And about the actors i think they have chemistry but this progression of the storyline made my first impression of them not so good. I still think they have pretty good chemistry though so i would love to see them in another series. Was this review helpful to you?

CONSENT DOESN'T NEED TO BE NEGOTIATED!!!! FFS !
I was curious how this would go and stayed up until Ep 3, skipping some parts along the way, but that third episode was so revolting that I immediately dropped the show.I am so glad I did, especially after reading comments confirming that the rest of the episodes are just as fucking disgusting.
Why the fuck do you need to negotiate consent with a game of rock-paper-scissors?
Consent should be an absolute given, not a gamble, but here it’s just the gamification of bodily autonomy. It clearly a rigged system where the top always "wins," and even on the rare occasion the other person actually wins a round, it isn't even respected. It is a disgusting way to manipulate someone into a corner while pretending they have a choice.
The black-haired dude constantly drones on about how he has “always loved” the other guy, but he doesn't give a single fuck about his partner’s comfort or agency.
Even worse, the show tries to excuse this by portraying it like the other dude "secretly" likes him but just isn't aware of it yet. That does not make these actions right. Just because two people are in a relationship or "meant to be" doesn't mean basic human decency and respect disappear.
This mindset is exactly why things like marital rape exist. Abuse and coercion don’t just happen between strangers; they often happen with the person closest to you, and being a "partner" isn't a license to ignore boundaries.
He uses "love" as a mask for predatory behavior, treating his "friend" like a toy to be dragged around and played with whenever the whim strikes him. I truly hate people who swear they like someone yet treat them like literal dirt. That dude is a walking talking red flag!
The constant hand-grabbing and dragging are infuriating as well no matter what the other person says or how much they protest, the black-haired just doesn't give a fuck.
The writer clearly thinks this physical coercion and arrogance are a substitute for chemistry, but romanticizing abuse and coercion is not fucking sexy at all. It is just a pathetic display of toxic dominance.
They managed to cram every trashy romance cliché and manipulative power imbalance into just three episodes ugh.
This is what I get going off a tictock recommendation without actually bothering to read the reviews beforehand.
I should have listened to my intuition and bailed after that bathroom scene in the first episode. I feel so salty that I gave into my curiosity just to see if it would progress.
An hour wasted on this predatory shit, ugh. 🤮 I wouldn't even give this story a 0; it deserves a -100.

why are we running...?
i've decided to drop this series for now. i'm definitely open to returning to it some day, but at this moment, i can't see it being worth my time to watch 7 more episodes of this. it's way too fast paced, yet it seems to drag at the same time. it's repetitive, boring, and has no original qualities. emphasis on repetitive. why have i seen the same scene of them chasing each other like, 5 times now? this is getting really draining. the actors are cute, sure, but the characters don't have a whole lot going on as individuals. they're fun as an ensemble of friends but none of them stand out. maybe my hopes were just too high, but i feel as though i've been severely let down. Was this review helpful to you?

It’s a no for me
Don’t waste your time with this oneIt’s terrible through and through
The acting is prolly the worst for Taiwanese bl
I get it the bar in already on the ground when it comes to bl but come on 😂
This was just painful to watch
4 episodes was the most I could do
This story is terrible
It’s not love
It’s a crime to even call it bl
If I had a friend like Atuo, id definitely end that friendship
Spoilers ‼️
I was shocked by the sa in the theatre bathroom, and the way Atuo had the audacity to excuse himself from any accountability claiming that’s what close friends do 🙄
I don’t think forcingly kissing and jerking your friend off is something that close friends do
You having a one sided crush on your friend who prolly thinks he’s straight doesn’t excuse your behavior
Jianxi seemed very uncomfortable during most of those scenes, as if he was just putting up with Atuo in order not to lose their friend ship
I dropped at ep 4, didn’t even finish that episode
The acting is terrible,
Don’t know who told the director tgat throwing kiss scenes every too seconds would save this show.
I get some people are horny and would eat up any bl, but it’s a no for me 👎

pushy love interest
I liked the premise- childhood friends who don't realize they are in love with each other, until both of them starts dating. The main character asks his friend to coach him in dating so they can ask out their crush. Said friend uses this opportunity to seduce the mc under the guise of going on practice dates.I feel like this could have been such a good story, to show their already existing chemistry and use the "fake dating" excuse so they can make out.. but the problem is that the friend is extremely inpatient and keeps pushing the mc's boundaries at every given chance. He kisses the mc forcefully and keeps touching him, even after the mc asks him to stop several times. It is clear to the audience that they both like each other, but the mc never gives him the green light to go ahead in the first ep. In the next the friend started to get even worse with acting jealous of mc's crush and getting in between them. I will be dropping this bc I don't like redflag love interests and noncon.

Growing up drama portraying a close friendship turned lovers.
ep 1 +2:So far its good! I like the portrayal of 2 people growing up together and working through the changing dynamics of their relationship to something more.
The initial uncertainty of their relationship and the uncomfortable first reactions are acted really well and i am looking forward to see how this progresses. I am also getting some old school tharntype vides from the first few episodes where one of them is more forceful and the other is confused. As it progresses it remains cute and sweet, there is not much drama and its a relatively easy watch.
The story is on the simpler side compared to other dramas that aired at the same time as this, its also not as steamy as the advertising made it seem.
edit: dropped as the story is just so dull and non exciting.

not worth the watch
I was really excited to watch this series, especially because of the amazing off-screen chemistry between the leads, which had built up a lot of anticipation. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The storyline is practically nonexistent—most of the episodes revolve around the same repetitive cycle: the characters fight every two minutes, one storms off, the other chases after them, and then they reconcile without actually addressing or resolving any of their issues. After a while, it feels frustrating and exhausting to watch because nothing meaningful ever progresses. On top of that, the character development is extremely poor. We never really get to understand their personalities, backgrounds, or motivations in a way that would make us connect with them emotionally. Instead of evolving or showing growth, the characters remain stuck in the same loop, which makes it hard to care about their journey.
Overall, the series feels like a wasted opportunity. With such a promising cast, it could have been engaging and impactful, but instead, it ends up being repetitive and shallow. Honestly, watching it feels like a complete waste of time.
