If the actors are improving their performances shouldn't they be given better stories???
First of all, I have to congratulate Boss and Noeul's acting and how it has improved since LITA. It is appreciated, because it is a couple that has great chemistry and it is palpable, but in LITA there were moments when the acting was weak. Here, an improvement is noticeable, although the same thing continues to happen. They are still in the same roles. Boss's character as the protector of Noeul's childish and naive character, which makes me quite angry, since it does not allow us to see the versatility of the actors and the possibility of reaching different characters. It is clear that Noeul can act when portraying a naive and sometimes childish character when in real life his personality is completely opposite. That is why, I wish that in future projects of this couple, they play with other characters and personalities. In itself, the whole cast is good, but the story does not do justice and does not help to demonstrate their worth.
I really hope Boss and Noeul next project they'll work with a different writer....
The whole plot at the beginning was aiming high and at the end, everything was so rushed leaving too many plot holes and things unsolved. I feel that they 'solved' the problem selling your brother? YES great idea, in one of the parallel worlds, we see Cir devasted and Phu hugging him (we can deduce that is because it's his brother died) but what the hell , I would sell my brother just to spend time with my crush. Also the father appearing like he is going to be someone when in the end is a non player in this whole plot. The second couple they were there just to be there, they weren't important , they develop their relationship in three episodes.... showing how you care about your characters....
I'm fed up with a certain scriptwriter/writer, writing scenes where consent is not respected and perpetuating certain clichés. How can you romantise stalking your crush/partner??? (Girl , if I know that my partner has been stalking me for years I would be afraid and not delighted). Let's see if Boss and Noeul and all the actors in this series manage to get away from this writer... and not make more series with her. The way she made romatising Cir stalking Phu and being obessed over him is something that left me speechless, all I can say: DISAPPOINTED BUT NOT SURPRISED.
The thing that upset me the most is Phu begging and asking for forgiveness to Cir.
How to deal with your stalker: Did you just find that someone has been stalking you five years, what are you going to do?
a) Call the police
b) Leave that person behind
c) The two answers above
d) Ask for forgive because he did it because he love me. (CLEARLY THE ANSWER) .
Take note guys, stalking , enterning in someone house without consent is something right if you do it because you love him/her.
Well, well, let's pray that Boss and Noeul can find a project that isn't written by Mame, that day there will be shooting stars or frogs will start growing hair or whatever weird and strange thing you can imagine.
Last but not least, OF COURSE, THIS BL HAS ONE OF THE THINGS I HATE THE MOST: MISOGYNY. The world of BL is full of misogyny, most of the stories, the women are the villains or characters where they do not let the protagonists be together or it separates them. As a woman, I'm annoyed by the acceptance of misogyny in BLs and how it has been accepted in such a blatant way, when in most cases BL fans tend to be women or the series are dedicated to a female audience. How much longer will we have to put up with women as villains?

What I Liked
- intro got my attention
- excellent chemistry/intimacy
- sweet moments
- in episode 3 the blue vs orange lighting for their apartments
Room For Improvement
- Cir was extremely manipulative and never told the truth, the other lead found out at the end of episode 9
- Phu acted like a child (who calls their university friends to complain about not finding their underwear), update, this wasn't as bad in future episodes and Phu questions why Cir likes him/brings up valid points but his room is filled with stuffed animals and he still has a child-like persona
- extremely disappointed in the world building, (random superpower appeared in ep 4), exposition dump in episode 8 to explain the world building
- in episode 2 the friends argued way too long
- the mom character/drama, can't believe that was how they resolved things with her
- nonsense: someone who is very ill who would want to do that, he's an adult and does not need to maintain his "deal" with his mom
- cliche, 'I need to tell you something important', 'I don't want to hear it now' (plenty of time to say was it was)
- cliche evil wannabe wife
- cringey singing in the apology video
- (neutral) there were some comedy sound effects but at least they weren't the entire time

MAME strikes back – with more of the same crap
Leave it to MAME and Me Mind Y to come up with an unnecessarily convoluted, yet completely predictable plot for a BL, add more story elements than your planned number of episodes can hold and then cut all excess content. Leave it to Me Mind Y to give that mess of a show to a cast which has problems with delivering their lines properly – and watch it all fall apart. That’s “The Boy Next World” in short. The “uncut” version, I presume, differs from the “cut” one in one aspect: it includes NC scenes of the main leads having sex – which does not improve the show in any way.Premise, story, writing
The show’s basic premise is interesting – even if it’s not brand new; something similar (multiverse-related or multiverse-based) was already attempted by other companies (see GMMTV’s “Vice Versa” from 2022). The twist – that the “boy next world” is not from a parallel world/universe – was also quite interesting, at least until we were told why he lied. This is where MAME’s trademark “character writing” kicks in: Cir, our main character is a liar, coward and stalker – and we’re meant to sympathize with him. He’s not obsessed, he’s in love – says the show and Phu, the other main character, the one being stalked and pursued. This is “Love in the Air” all over again, but this time the stalker is a pitiful, weak creature. Maybe I’m too old for this and out of touch with reality, but is Cir supposed to be relatable? I keep hearing that more and more people have problems forming relationships or even starting a conversation with someone they find attractive or interesting – maybe “The Boy Next World” is MAME’s commentary on this? Whatever it was supposed to be, I found the “I like you but I’m too scared to ask you out, so I’ll keep stalking you for 5 years and then come up with a stupid lie as a pick-up line” plotline (which managed to have a kind of a break-up and a very rushed conclusion, both in ep. 10) tiring pretty early on and was waiting for the happy end.
But wait – there’s more! The show has a secondary couple (Jin and Wim) plotline as well as Cir’s family plotline. As far as I can tell, Jin and Wim didn’t have to become a couple, those characters could have stayed in the show just as the closest friends of Cir and Phu – replacing most or all of the other characters populating the show as students and friends of the main couple (most of them don’t do anything important storywise). Due to time constraints and poor writing Jin’s and Wim’s storyline is underdeveloped and shallow. Cir’s family plotline is an even bigger mess – shows up out of nowhere, makes no sense and ends abruptly with little to no explanation. This whole subplot should have been scrapped (this is a BL and it doesn’t need a villain, it already created its own problems and obstacles for the main couple to be together) or given much more screen time and development.
Performances
Boss is far less charismatic than in “Love in the Air”, which does not help Cir – despite the show’s premise there’s little actual mystery surrounding him and he comes across as a crybaby and a weakling sneaking in the shadows. Not sure that’s what Cir was supposed to be nor whether this is solely due to poor script or Boss being unable to elevate the character.
Noeul (again) portrays a naïve youngster who falls for an attractive senior. What changed from LITA, is that his character is almost entirely deprived of agency, passive in almost every situation – hence Noeul’s performance is unimpressive at best.
The only scene with both main leads I really enjoyed was their post-coital talk in bed in ep. 10, with Cir coming clean about his 5 years of stalking – a talk Cir and Phu should have had in ep. 5 or even before that. There’s some badly needed honesty in that scene and Boss and Noeul portray Cir and Phu as actual human beings: one is a little ashamed of himself while the other gets surprised by each answer he gets; both seem to be in disbelief regarding the weird situation they found themselves in, but – at the same time – both are pretty sure that everything will be okay from now on. Make more scenes like that, Me Mind Y, make an entire episode with BossNoeul just talking with each other candidly, but still in a friendly manner – I’d watch that show and I guarantee I’d rate it much higher than “The Boy Next World”.
There isn’t much good I can say about the other cast members, but one thing is worth mentioning: I liked Donut’s quiet “I like you” in ep. 10, spoken the opposite direction to the person he was talking about. That was his best delivery so far in any show: the hesitation and nervousness, barely contained emotion, quiet happiness – everything was there. I’ll go further and say that in both scenes with Forth in ep. 10 Donut’s performance was solid – something that contrasted with him in other scenes throughout the series.
All in all I do not recommend “The Boy Next World”. Unless you’re a Me Mind Y completionist, use those 10 hours to watch something else.

Stalking is not love, its obsession
Tw: stalking
Discalmer: hope everything make sense, sorry for the tone 😭
Alright, let’s get into this mess.
The series was bad. Like, not just bad. Actually painful. But, to be fair, it had some good elements (which are the only reason I didn’t rate it lower than the actual bottom-tier trash I’ve suffered through). To be fair it started strong. Had me locked in until episode 4. Then? Nothing. Happened. For way too long. The pacing collapsed on itself, the characters got ruined completely, and it got so boring and unbearable that by the end I was watching at 2x
Now let's actually start: THE PLOT
Concept? Intriguing. Simple but intresting. A guy named Phu (Phukan) opens his door one day, and there stands Cir (Cirrus), a fellow uni student who basically says, “Hey, in a parallel universe, we’re a couple, so I’m here to be your boyfriend.” And Phu’s like, “Sounds legit.” (Mind you the fact that Cir had just been in an accident should have raised some highbrow, but still.) So Phu lets him hang around, behaving like a substitute boyfriend for the “other Phu” from another world.
Sounds fun, right? Well, plot twist (the most called plot twist ever, seeing it coming from episode 1): Cir isn’t actually from a parallel world. He made the whole thing up after STALKING PHU FOR FIVE YEARS. (Yeah. Let that sink in.) The whole parallel world thing was bullshit. Or actually, parallel universes might be real, but who gives a shit? That’s not the story we got. They don't influence the story in basically any way sooo.
Also, there's a second couple, made of Phu’s bestie Jin and Cir’s bestie Wim, who are the actual saving element of this show. But we’ll get to them later.
The plots suffered immensely from the lenght of the series. Or even better; it’s like the writers forgot they only had 10 episodes. The first few? Decent buildup. It kept u entratained I guess. Middle section? Radio silence. Absolutely nothing happens. Then suddenly, in the LAST EPISODE, they speed-run the entire climax. How do you dedicate 8 episodes to NOTHING and then convey the main conflict into 30 minutes? I mean I guess it's a talent as well
The magical stuff was handled so badly I actually feel scammed. Parallel worlds? Barely explained. Barely present. Barely useful. Mind reading? Randomly exists, then poof, gone the moment love enters the chat. There was potential for something cool, but instead, we got vague nonsense with no real rules or depth. No backstory on how Jin got his power or why love made them disappear. The whole “Cir and Phu are destined across universes” thing? Okay, and??? The lack of explanation and better view of the parallel world thing made Cir look like a schizofrenic for the longest time.
Now onto the main character
Cir – the actual protagonist, he stole the show, for the besf od the worst. And by protagonist, I mean psychopath. He’s like Payu if you took away all the charisma and left behind a creep with the personality of a can. If you asked me to describe Payu, I could. Cir? Not really. "He’s obsessed with Phu". That’s it. He has zero character beyond that. Every single interaction he has somehow circles back to Phu.
Phu – The human equivalent of watching paint dry. He has no personality. None. Nada. His entire existence revolves around being a very nice guy (thats apparently how they call a victim in this universe). Even his trauma (his dad’s death) is just a lazy plot device to get him closer to Cir. I’d say more, but there’s literally nothing else to say about him.
But their Relationship dynamic is where things get really bad. Setting aside the whole “do you believe in parallel world?” question, Cir and Phu’s relationship is built on a massive lie. Cir lied about being from another world, stalked Phu for five years, moved into the apartment below him, learned his house code, set his own house password to Phu’s birthday, spied on him while he was changing, and had his friends befriend him to gather more information.
AND THIS, THIS WAS ROMANTICIZED.
Like, in the last episode, Phu finds out everything , he gets angry for a couple of days (not even that) and still goes, “Aww, you were taking care of me all this time? So sweet 🥰.” WHAT THE FUCK??? And it gets even worst?!? Cir at a certain point says that he got involved in the first accident (beginning of the show) backup he was trying to stop robber from taking Phu's car. So Phu APOLOGIZED?? HE FELT GUILTY??? No man, i mena its bad that ur car was getting stole, but in no circumstances u should feel bad for a stalker own decision. STALKING IS NOT LOVE, IT’S OBSESSION. And Cir does not love Phu. He’s obsessed with him. This entire relationship is a red flag factory. Phu justified every single shit Cir did. And their dialogue? Corny asf . Every time they spoke, i rolled my eyes
There are ofc other characters but it's jot like they are much bettef
Achi damn. This clown knew Phu’s stalker ex-fiancée was dangerous but still set them up to meet. She literally tried to slap Phu the day before, but Achi still went, “Maybe she’s changed 🤡. She was misanderstood” Then when she does slap Phu? No apology. Just, “Oh no, Tee is gonna kill me.” Bro, what?? Not a single though for the public humiliation u made ur bestie sit through? No repercussions??
Oh, Jin. My flop king. Like, how the fuck do you have a whole-ass mind-reading superpower and STILL manage to be not use it. when it actually counts?? Man really sat there, fully aware that Cir was a stalker, a liar, and just went, “hmm 🤔 maybe I should just… not say anything.” For what, exactly?? Because he was scared Phu wouldn’t believe him?? BRO. Phu bought the parallel universe lie with zero hesitation. You could’ve told him Cir was actually a reincarnated alien with a Phu-tracking microchip in his ass, and he still would’ve nodded along like, “ah yeah, that makes sense.”
Wim was not thwt better on this point. At least I expected nothing from him. I mean, let’s get this straight. He actively helped Cir. Bro really stood there and befriended Phu just for Cir. That's a new level of dedication I guess,
And the final straw? Cir sold out his own best friend for jelousy. Jin was like, “cir, help me trick Wim into having a date at the cinema with me or else ill go with Phu" and cir was like said, “Sure" WHAT. “Betrayal” doesn’t even cover it. If I were wim and I found out my best friend sold me I would do so much wors
You know what? If I were Jin or Wim, I wouldn’t have just told Phu the truth. I would’ve made it a fucking event. Press conference. Billboards. Skywriting. A full TED Talk. “CIR: The Documentary.” Because clearly, every single person in this show had the IQ of a wet sock, and they needed a wake-up call.
The Cir Family Circus (aka What The Actual Fuck)
Oh boy. Cir’s mother was the villain, and not in a fun, dramatic way, just in a batshit crazy way. She ruined women’s lives out of spite, pushed a teacher to suicide, and literally held her own son hostage for years. And how does this whole mess get resolved? A literal human swap deal. The story closes with Cir’s brother, Ozone, that trades places with him and goes to live with their psycho mom, while Cir finally gets freedom.
And everyone just… accepts this??? HELLO??? No consequences, no justice. And Cir’s reaction? Goes home and has sex. Yep. That’s it. His brother just sacrificed himself, he gave up on his freedom, he is probably gonna be forced to marry someone he doesn't love and Cir’s priority is to get laid. This show is insane.
And now, onto the good parts, and the things that I liked:
• Consent: Yeah, I know it's the bare minimum. But u can never take it for granted in a Mame series. , I was genuinely happy that Cir asked for Phu’s consent multiple times. Respect is hot. Basic human decency is hot. More of this, please.
• The concept: Parallel worlds? Love the idea. Interesting. Fresh. Cool. I mean it's true the execution was a complete trainwreck, but damn the concept was interesting. With a better execution this could have easily been a top tier series.
• Small nice touches: there were a few. For example I love how they made Phu very superstitious from the start, it kinda justify why he believed so easily in the whole " i come from a parallel world" thing. It show some thought behind it.
• The actors: I went in expecting “good series, bad actors" but instead I got was “bad series, surprisingly solid actors”. And I mean, i’ve never been a huge fan of their acting (LITA), but the improvement was undeniable. Boss, in particular, really stepped up his game. Noeul did well too, but Phu just annoyed me too much for me to care. (Cir was annoying as well, but I couldn’t stop looking at Boss. Sorry not sorry.)
• Chemestry: Off the charts. Crazy. Not many active BL couples can deliver the way Boss and Noeul do. The tension, the eye contact, the body language, the NC scenes—everything hit just right. It's exactly how it's supposed to be
• Boss: Yeah, I think i fell in love. The man is stunning, one of the hottest in the genre and that haircut was the best choice he ever made in his life. I swear that as much as I hated Cir, I just couldn't stop watching Boss. Handsome asf
• The direction and aesthetic: Possibly the best part. Give a raise to whoever directed the show case some scenes were genuinely beautiful. The "brain room" where the two Cirs meet? Stunning. The apartment cup-phone scene? Absolute masterpiece. The way Phu’s apartment had warm yellowish lighting while Cir’s was cold and blue? Symbolism! Even though I’m not usually a fan of this coloring style, too fresh and white, the cinematography was strong enough to make me forgive it.
• Music: Pretty dcent. Not the best, not the worst. The english songs in the ost? Surprisingly solid. Cir’s own songs? Let’s just pretend they don’t exist.
So, in conclusion. As many flaws as I've found it was not the worst series I've seen. It needed "adjustements". Compared to others it had good premises, and even an actual good start in the series, and it eventually deteriorated completely mid way through. But, it's still a series I wouldn't recommend. Especially if u are someone who gets very defensive or gets angry a lot when talking about sensitive topics that stop yourself. No accountability towards the mother, no accountability towards the stalking. No accountability towards no important topic. If u are someone who loves sci-fi don't put yourself through this. Its a university bl with a side of paranormal. And especially, if u hate slow paced series, STOP YOURSELF RIGHF HERE. don't to that.
Ps. Thank whoever put Boss in those tight ass jeans/trousers/pants case he is thicc. Literally, he had *that * cake. Like if u crode

The scenario was such a disappointment for so many reasons !!!
I'm so disappointed with this series that I'm not sure where to start with this review...Given the title, poster, generic itself, I was expecting a BL romance with a lot of fantasy elements, even maybe some sci-fi trope... Instead, I was served a very classic university BL with friends being used as comical resort and trauma-induced by family members...Despite the drama not fulfilling any of my expectations, the biggest issue I have with it is the lack of plot and the slow pacing...It took more than half the series to get to somewhat a narrative direction...Then it introduced an interesting element toward the last quarter but it was done in such a superficial way, without digging into what could have been otherwise very interesting...It slightly raised back my expectations before crushing them even more...
The main actors Boss and Noeul have a great chemistry together, and they delivers fiery NSFW scenes in a credible way. I also think their acting overall has been improving since I saw them in "Love In The Air". Given the poverty and lack in the scenario they were playing with, I give them a lot of flowers for managing to do as well as they did even if it was far from perfect. I cannot say the same for some of the side characters : most of the antagonists ones were played in such a caricatural way that I was totally disconnected from their performances.
The strongest point of the series resides in its production value. I thought that the hot scenes were beautifully directed and the overall making was very good. I enjoyed a lot the opening generic as well as the background music. It was very cohesive with hint of sorrowness and longing that I found lovely. Honestly, what a waste to have the writing annihilating all those positive aspects.
I would not recommend this to people unless you are a huge fan of Boss and Noeul. I think they deserved a better scenario for sure. I liked the opening generic and its esthetic with the good overall production value. I wish that the whole series would have had that vibe...Unfortunately, it was a classic university Thai BL kind of show rather than a mysterious and dark fantastical story...In a nutshell, what a let down !!!

Strong Start To Half Baked
Let me start by saying Boss and Noeul were incredible in this series with what they were given. They have amazing chemistry and that remained clear and strong throughout for me, but unfortunately they were served a half-baked script and what felt like a lackluster plot to me.The show’s premise felt so interesting and had so much potential. The storyline really felt like it was building up to greatness and then fizzled out, remained confusing throughout, and overall ended feeling incomplete to me.
There ultimately was wasted potential in this series which makes me so sad to say because Boss and Noeul are amazing actors and deserve to play in strong roles/series. I really hope there’s more resolve in the special episode 😔🙏

A missed opportunity, cast deserved better
I was crazy about it when they announced this show as it had a interesting premise & so much potential. But I'm really disappointed now. BossNoeul gave their everything, music was at it's best, first few episodes & the first twist was great, but overall plot didn't make sense. Maybe they'll release a special ep, but it's still crap. Only stayed for BossNoeul, I really cried so hard today while watching last ep. I Really hated everything about Cir's family & fiance'. I don't think the plot needed a villain. I'll never forgive MAME for ruining my fav anticipating show. Please protect MemindY from MAME.Was this review helpful to you?

How Many World's?!?!?!
I only have praises for this series...Boss x Noeul have 1000% leveled up in their acting, and they sing the OST for this drama, simply AMAZING.I am loving the story, right now I've finished 7 episodes of this series and my only complaint is it needs to be longer than 10 episodes...I don't see how P'Mame is going to wrap this series up in the next 3 episodes without it being rushed and having some potholes the sizes of Texas in it...unless she's planning for a Season 2.
Anyways, I like the cast of characters, except for Wim and Jin...it's something about their acting, it could be all of the whining over their supposed besties. I don't see how and where Jin is Phu's best friend, because he has done absolutely nothing for him, except obsess over him getting his "cherry popped," and considering he's whorish, he has absolutely no room to even concern himself with that part of Phu's life. I love the 2 female friends and how they worry about Phu, I can see a girls love happening between them honestly, so if there is a spin-off, they'd make a really good couple. I see chemistry.
Up to episode 7 and we still don't know a lot about how Cir is going to get back to his world or the world he thinks he supposed to be in. And spoiler alert...a 3rd Cirrus has appeared...so have many 'next worlds' are there. For some reason, I feel like Cirrus is his mother's lab rat and what he believes is reality and actually happening, is nothing more than him being locked in a dream state. I think Cir is in a coma and this reality is not reality. I haven't read the novel, so I have no idea but that is one thought that I am having. I also had a thought that Cirrus and Phu were brothers, that they had the same father...it was just a wild thought.
Anyways, Boss x Noeul never disappoint. I hope they have a long and successful acting life, with or without each other. Blessings to them both.
P.S...Noeul x Boss, can ya'll get married already!!! Because you are just too not gone and make it real.

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE EPISODE SO FAR ♡ (Episode 8)
Everything about this series is just Amazing!! The acting, Music, OSTs, Filmography, Cinematography, Colour tones, Costumes, Makeup and you call whatever it is.. everything is next level. I haven't seen this level of production in another Thai BL to be honest. I wish TBNW to win all those awards out there, the whole crew deserves that.Kudos to BossNoeul for their outstanding performance, both of them has developed their acting skills so much despite this being their second series. The way they conveyed the feelings through expression is the best, sometimes they didn't have to cry to make me feel the same sadness so that I ended up crying even when they didn't. They outperformed themselves in the NCs as well, it's always sensual to watch, I feel like I am intruding their personal moments.
I feel like this series is so so underrated! I hope more people will find this beautiful series and enjoy it. 🫶
