Fun & Light Undercover Drama
Undercover Miss Hong is a light and enjoyable drama that mixes comedy, investigation, and workplace moments in a simple but engaging way. The story follows an undercover mission that leads to many awkward and humorous situations while slowly uncovering a deeper mystery. Park Shin-hye delivers a solid performance and brings charm and confidence to the character. The drama keeps a playful tone while still maintaining some suspense through its investigation plot. The supporting characters also add energy to the story and make the interactions more lively. Visually, the drama has a clean and pleasant style that fits its lighthearted atmosphere.
Although some parts of the plot feel predictable, the overall pacing keeps the drama easy to watch. In the end, it’s an Average and some Kind of Boring drama that offers a good balance of humor and mystery, making it a decent watch overall.
My Rating 7/10

Hardly a 10 but ok
Told a passable story. Most of it. The problem was this is like the 3rd or 4th straight drama with a story setting during the IMF crisis of SK. Every year I swear, it's like these script writers get together and say let's all produce law dramas this yr. Or med dramas. It's like all we get for a few months and you just start to get fed up. So I will admit I MIGHT have a small bias towards pieces from this timeframe , kind of sick of them. You have to be on point with this as the background, historically correct you could say since this is kind of a niche backline to use, or had been until we just got this string of them. Even so, you've got to be almost perfect when viewers get to this point and this wasn't it~Decent all around cast and this ML here has done well in the past. He was all but useless here. Was playing as the cold boss with FL, working for him of course, with a relationship that went sour in the past. Uninspiring, dull, and boring. Story or the actor? Idk. But these leads did NOT mesh. The saving grace here was that even though they had a past, there was no attempt to rekindle anything and very little in the way of romance within the drama period. FL's role here was more or less, pretty fairly generic. Her acting was fine. A bossy, pushy, self righteous character with no respect anyone with the belief that her behavior is justified by her belief in righting injustice in the world. Her target happens to be a huge dirty corporation where she runs into her ex and cue the story~
The supports were better in dam near every category imo. There must have been at least 15 or so recognizable faces big and small. Had grand standing villains delivering cheesy lines of overconfidence and menacing threats with laughing cackles and dark eyes blazing. And the ending? Trash. I didn't like it at all since what was portrayed wouldn't have happened or worked well historically. That's MY opinion on it though and shouldn't stop you from checking it out~
This wasn't a bad drama. The strength of the supports was actually what kept me until the end since the leads didn't shine together. FLs archetype here is familiar for viewers of her works so it was fine alone but didn't stand out. It's a very long drama, a full 16 eps. It's starts off very slow, 8 was the make and break part on continuing or dropping for me so you do need to watch a few before deciding~

Park Shin Hye, The GOAT
I've become a fan of PSH ever since I watched her in The Judge from Hell. She really plays strong and badass characters the best so I ended up starting Undercover Miss Hong because of her.I started watching this drama when the 4th episode came out and ever since then I could not wait for the next episode. I haven't watched a drama like this in quite a long time. The drama never went out of the main genre and I loved every part of it.
PSH really played her character the best and this is another drama that has PERFECT casting. I cannot imagine anyone else playing these characters. My personal favourite was KBH. Her character development really caught my eye.
But the part I liked the most was the bond everyone had and the pacing of the drama. Every character had their backstory shown which sparked a connection between us as viewers. The comedy parts were entertaining too and in these past weeks seeing the girls' bond as roommates and helping each other out really grew on me.
I also LOVED the fact that everyone teamed up in the end to bring down Hanmin. The teamwork they showcased in the last few episodes was really fun to watch. I don't usually go for such genres but I ended up starting this drama because of PSH and honestly I loved every part of it.
I can't believe today is the finale episode. I hope the finale gives us the exact thrill and satisfaction and finishes strong. Truly one of the best dramas of 2026!!

“An undercover comedy that works"
“Undercover Miss Hong" is a drama that
blends comedy, investigation, and romance with a very enjoyable energy. From the first episodes, the series sets a light and entertaining tone while gradually building a more serious storyline. This contrast works quite well and makes the drama very easy to watch. It’s the kind of show you find yourself following every weekend, curious to see what will happen in the next episode.
The story is built around a fairly classic concept: an undercover mission that forces the female lead to hide her real identity. While the premise isn’t entirely new in the world of K-dramas, the series manages to keep things interesting thanks to a good pace and several small twists along the way. The episodes are structured in a way that maintains curiosity, especially as clues and revelations slowly start to come together. Some moments can be a bit predictable, but it doesn’t really take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.
One of the drama’s biggest strengths is its characters. Hong is a charismatic and very likable protagonist. She is determined, brave, and smart, but she can also be clumsy and occasionally overwhelmed by the situations she finds herself in. This balance makes her feel very human and relatable, which makes it easy for viewers to become attached to her journey.
The supporting characters also add a lot of charm to the drama. They create a fun team dynamic and bring several comedic moments that help keep the story light. Some characters even surprise the audience with their development, making the interactions between the cast more engaging as the story progresses.
The romance remains relatively subtle, but it adds a nice emotional layer to the drama. It develops gradually, often through small gestures and quiet moments rather than overly dramatic scenes. This approach makes the relationship feel more natural and believable. The chemistry between the characters also helps make these moments feel warm without overshadowing the main storyline.
Another successful aspect of the drama is the balance between humor and tension. Some scenes are genuinely funny, especially because undercover situations often lead to awkward or unexpected moments. At the same time, the main plot introduces more serious moments that remind the audience of the stakes behind the mission. This balance keeps the drama engaging and prevents it from becoming repetitive.
That said, the drama does have a few minor weaknesses. Some side plots could have been explored in more depth, and a few characters fade out of the story a bit too quickly. The pacing can also feel slightly uneven in the middle of the series, with certain episodes moving the plot forward faster than others.
Overall, *Undercover Miss Hong* is a very entertaining drama that successfully combines humor, suspense, and romance. It may not be the most groundbreaking story, but it works well thanks to its charming characters, light tone, and engaging atmosphere. It’s an easy and enjoyable watch, especially for viewers who enjoy undercover stories with comedic moments and a soft touch of romance.

Delightfully Funny Comedy Delivers
I found the first set up episode a bit weak and dropped until more episodes released. When I came back and watched a few more I realized just how hilarious this was.One problem I had during the first episode set up was the female lead does not look 20 years old no matter how many pink pins she sticks in her hair. But then the jokes about that fact started coming fast and often. The actress/director/writer are well aware she doesn't look 20 and weave that self deprecating humor into the running jokes.
There's a metamorphosis mid way through from the original undercover comedy to a complex Robin Hood Revenge Caper plot full of fun plot twists and turns without losing its identity as a comedy, a deliciously funny comedy. The more I watched the better it got. And the ending was very satisfying.

Best drama of 2026
I know the year has just started , and there are many more dramas to come but Miss Undercover Hong is literally crowned the best kdrama of 2026, for me. The story, the characters, the pacing are so intriguing. I’m becoming a fan of Park Shin Hye more and more; her latest roles have been on point. I am hoping they stick the landing for the ending. It is already a 10/10 for me. And Albert is so cute!!Was this review helpful to you?

Definitely Worth A Look!
I feel like they set the finale up for a Season 2, and I'd be happy should that happen. Park Shin Hye does a good job in the lead role, although I found her company clothing / wardrobe to be distracting at times. I get that they were trying to make her look less sophisticated, as if anyone would (and most didn't) believe she was in her early 20's. Thankfully they tossed us a bone in the final scenes where she got to dress up a bit. I suspect the wardrobe choice might also have been to distinguish her from Choi Ji Su in her Kang Nora role. IMO Nora stole many of the scenes she was in with her bright and flashy appearance. The chemistry between the roommates was a key plot element and for me it worked. I'd watch another series with those same characters. Another reason I am hoping for a Season 2 is so that Hong Geum Bo and Go Kyung Pyo / Go Kyung PyoSin Jeong U can get a chance to rekindle their relationship.

My aired drama of 2026 so far!
Undercover Miss Hong is a very thrilling and well-produced drama. It mainly features mystery and comedy (PEAK comedy) but also small amounts of romance and emotional scenes. The visuals and all colors were really satisfying to see. Also liked that the ending was unpredictable unlike most other dramas. And even though the duration of each episode was longer than I’m used to, I barely got bored and was enthralled by the visuals, storyline and acting!
I LOVE the friendships so much! Especially the friendship between Hong Keum Bo and Go Bok Hee developed so much and I loved to see it. The girls were so kind and supportive to each other, which was super nice to see! Still moved by when Hong Keum Bo visited Kim Mi Sook at her workplace after coming back from the hospital.
Could have been better: I would have wanted to, at the end after Bom was talked about her aunties, know more about what happened to Albert. And of course I wanted him to date Hong Keum Bo seriously, but I may have been too delusional. At least she made up with Shin Jung Woo and didn’t date him 🤷
Nora and Bom were so cute, especially together! And Go Bok Hee looked SO FLIPPING GOOD,LIKE MARRIAGE MATERIAL, in the last episode!
I of course, as a big MIDZY, loved seeing Yuna in Undercover Miss Hong. I really enjoyed her acting and of course her visuals. She made a great series even more enjoyable for me!
Favorite episode: 14
Favorite character: Go Bok Hee

Team Hanmin female dormitory assemble!!
To hate this show would be like kicking a puppy, but to give it a glowing review would be misleading as well. I'm torn.I had planned an in-depth review, but having just finished it, I can't do it. Oh the pain!
This show is watchable and has a big heart. Lots of social justice messages. Doing the right thing is noble after all.
I'm going to be blunt, the A-plot really can't sustain 16 X 70 mins eps. Cut the number of episodes or trim it down to 45 mins would be more workable. It did get draggy at times.
The big drawcard is the FL going undercover as a 20-year-old. To be fair, the FL is not one who shies away from challenges. Her titular role as the The Judge from Hell was delicious. This script, however, is probably more pain than gain.
To be fair, the FL gave it her all. There are a lot of sight gags and in-jokes while she is forced to act like a girlie girl. They tried to milk it for all it is worth. Unfortunately, it is a one gag pony.
Similarly, the revenge/business shenanigans could have been sharp and biting. I thought we are finally getting somewhere around ep.9. Even when all the ducklings are lined up and quacking loudly, the show just mills around the water cooler. We have seen it all before. Overbearing chairman, inept/criminal senior staff, slush funds, rigged shareholder meeting, etc.
The ending is "satisfying" as in everything that needs to happen, happened. Everyone got their just dessert. Surprisingly, there is no real romance. Nada, no OTP nor second CP's. At least there is no Big White Truck of Doom™. We give thanks for that.
In the end, this show is not for me, mea culpa. Your mileage will differ. It is not a bad show per se. You will enjoy this more if you are a big fan of the leads. The social justice angle is appealing. Setting the show around the IMF Crisis is interesting. (BTW, Typhoon Family did it better, just saying.) Caveat emptor, chingu. Peace.

A masterpiece. Incredibly funny dynamic thriller and hillarious comedy
Miss Hong is a gold mine for comedy bc it is LOADED with excellent actors and practically every scene has tons of it, it is FILMED In a way that just creates scene after scene that is totally memorable and most are hilariously funny. The plot is not transformational but more action oriented but there are some transformations. There are love interests that weave through the interactions between characters and influence the drama and transform the characters, but the main focus is on business tasks. Team A of good guys and Teams B C D E F G etc of bad guys :) and all the independent players jumping to one or the other side....So... corporate politics, financial shanannigans, and stealing $$$ take priority while the romantic interests are raging in the background :)
These business interests lead to a forced situation that *is* transformational, 4 women and a kid who would have NEVER met otherwise come together by chance and form a strong bond, and they all transform.
Lots of excellent actresses in complex roles, which is rare, and a realistic porttrayal of friendship between women and their kid.
The female thief Bok Hee who becomes a helper is an amazing transformation and that actress is absolutely amazing in this role
The drama does not put artificial emphasis on the growth, and there is nothing sugary or unrealistic. The whole drama is matter-of-fact.... For example, ML and FL love each other, but he is a criminal, she hates that, so that is that, look-but-dont-touch, the ship has sunk before it sailed. The other guy is handsome and rich but too inexperienced... The third guy is ... and so on.
There is nothing sugary about the female friendship either, it is realistic too... There is nothing sugary about obligations and keeping integrity....
Some scenes are filmed as hillarious makjang in utmost exeggaration - and so that is a clue that what is happening is not really critical but provide a context... Some scenes are "as if in real life" acted seriously, and those are the deep important moments...
Side actors make the drama super spicey hilarious and fun and mysterious, for example one scene of Cha and Albert's dad at the computer is only 2 minutes but *extremely* memorable HILARIOUS
So the entire drama is like that. Scene after scene is all masterful and memorable.
It is one of the dramas that you have to rewatch to see all the gold offered to the audience. Every scene is packed with precious information.
Truly a piece of art that needs to be studied.
After doing my own amateur studying - since I have no formal training nor ANY technical knowledge about making dramas or films - I concluded that the script can provide so much, and then the director, the camera. the video production need to direct and CATCH good actors in just the right moments to convey tons of information with just one screen or one scene.
That makes the plot very dynamic, as it moves fluidly and flawlessly.
****You dont need extra dialogues to explain what is going on.**** I learned that the hard way, watching No Tail to Tell ep 10 - where characters SPEAK what is happening and the drama just drags.... then I watched Miss Hong and SAW how you can eliminate so much dialogue just by picking the right scenes to film...
The script of Miss Hong is wickedly tight :) There is no telling what is going on and new suspicions and new information and twists keep happening :) We the audience HAVE NO IDEA what could happen next, but we do know all the clues are there so we keep watching and guessing :) This is truely a treasure hunt that is very exciting :) Looking for Waldo LOL
Overall, I am very impressed :)
I want to send the camera/directing/video/script people of dramas Radiant Days and Love Phobia and No Tail to Tell to this drama to CAREFULLY study it and learn. Radiant Days and Love Phobia have such choppy camera and super fast random scenes it is like a whirlwind... Like Energizer Bunny on Steroids feeling.... it is supposed to impress you and surprise you but it is like someone threw a whole bunch of cofetti at ya face.... and NTTL drags... the actors are forced to SPEAK what is going on in the scene

Shin-Hye delivered again ???
The best office drama I saw. I love that romance is a subplot here and they didn't force the relationship for it to be real till the last episode. I would've loved it anyway though. Park Shin-Hye this girl just keeps getting better and better. Every performance feels like the best and then she tops it with her next project. Are we getting a S2? I want it so bad...Was this review helpful to you?
Less business talk. Focus more on the ladies!
Let me start by saying this is not romance. ML and FL did promos together for the show, and I just assumed. I was very wrong. Honestly, that’s fine because there's no messy love triangles then.Second, this show gets infinitely better after the halfway point. Before then, I found the first half quite boring. Even toward the end, the show is only good when it focuses on the female lead’s roommates and her immediate coworkers. Their struggles related to the business and the IMF crisis in the background are the highlights. Very emotional and very good, especially concerning a certain character and her child.
So, what was so bad about the first half?
Old folks talking business.
Absolutely relentless hours upon hours, episode after episode of just scheming over and over in the chairman’s office. How to hide this, how to cover that. Finance talk. Stock talk. Bonds talk. Shares talk. Even if you don’t understand the terminology being thrown around, you still get the general sense of what’s happening. But my goodness, they needed to cut down on this nonsense. It feels like 30% of the show was filmed in the chairman’s office talking about the slush fund. This series should have been trimmed to 12 episodes and it would have been infinitely better.
Otherwise, the acting is good. Costume and set designs are nice. Mildly funny in regard to her entire undercover shtick as a 20-year-old. Ending is good.
