Stereotypical BL trope? yes. is it amazing? YES !

The chemistry is so insane I feel like I’m watching through a live stream in real life the actors and couples were perfect for the roles the book came to life without many of the toxic elements I truly appreciate this. this is such powerful scene. Amazing dialogue. Wu Suo Wei basically gives Chi Cheng the go-ahead to do whatever he wants with his bawdy... but Chi Cheng holds himself back because he desperately wants/needs more from Wu Suo Wei. And it shows that Wu Suo Wei knows Chi Cheng is in love with him, but he (Wu Suo Wei) is falling deeper and deeper himself and feels so guilty on top of it all he's sewn a quilt of denial that he wraps himself up in.

It's horrifying!!!

I don't often write reviews. But I need to bring the rating down for this horrifying piece of trash. I've read so many good reviews and high praises for this series, so I was so excited to watch. I've just finished the first episode and my mind boggles. Why is this trash so beloved? Did they not watch how the ML and 2ML use a person as a prize for a stupid snake fight? Did it not implied that SA/grape was going to occur since the boy looked unwilling and uncomfortable during the exchange? Then later in the EPs the ML ordered his goons to g*ng🍇the boy! WTF??? And he's supposed to be the hero of the show that everyone swoon over? He's a f*cking monster!!! He needs to be in jail right the f*CK now! Why would any sane person want to waste their time watching this heinous criminal seeking happiness and romance? I'd rather watch him and his fellow snake-loving pal pay for their unforgivable crimes. Justice for the 🍇victim!

The best package!!!

One of the best drama I have watched so far, I love the Casts and their Acting. everything in this drama is so attractive and beautiful. I have read the Novel and its quite good beside its erotic part. Then came out trailer and was so hooked up. I gave it a try when it was released, f*****k so gut from the start. The story is nothing special though, like girlfriend cheating and getting revenged on. But the special about this drama is because of how they played and directed that nothing finds you boring scenes at all. Not even irritating characters too. Usually many BL drama focused too much on kissing and sex and at the end no gut story to deliver. but this BL is very much focused on story, about family and friends, relationship and society, trust and loyalty etc. that's why its so special in someway when you watch it. Usually how famous the dramas are I jump a lot because of boring side stories or too much dragged story. But in this Revenged Love, every second makes me laugh. it directed very nice. no boring no dragged. EXCELLENT. This will definitely be in my rewatch list. JUST WATCH IT !

A cute, funny, hella unserious romance if you're chill with dark concepts/tropes

Honestly how much you enjoy this show will likely highly depend on how chill you are with very dark concepts and tropes that are treated lightly in this supposed-to-be cute/funny romance. But I also like how unapologetically dark it is? Chi Cheng is not a good person, there's just no other way around it. He's definitely a glaring red flag but it's fiction and Tian Xuning makes the character work. No doubt the actors are hard carrying this with their chemistry and visuals (Tian Xuning doing most of the carrying lmbfr) because otherwise the budget is obviously low and the writing is all over the place messy and cringe.

That said, I definitely recommend just for the guilty pleasure aspect of watching such an unserious and unapologetically "immoral" show like this. Most of the characters are extremely flawed in one way or another and that's part of the charm of it.

The Story I Didn’t Know I Always Needed

I started this show excited by the premise and interested to see what this hotly anticipated Chinese BL would bring to the table. What I didn’t expect was to be so thoroughly in love with the story, the characters, and the actors themselves that I am basically an emotional wreck now that the last new episode has aired. i will have to return to this show often, because I am not ready to let go of Wu SuoWei and Chi Cheng…and I don’t think I ever will be. This story sneaks up on you out of nowhere and really latches onto your heart. all of the main actors and the supporting cast did such a phenomenal job bringing the Revenged Love world to life. I’m just glad I got to be one of the millions of viewers who was lucky enough to see it.

Serving laughter and tears

I normally don't review BLs but this ... this is an exception. This is truly one of the best of its genre and I would be happily ranking it this high even outside of its genre. This drama served so much heart and dramatic whimsy that I have never once felt bored while watching any of the 24 episodes. I can find myself laughing one moment and crying my heart out the next, all in the span of just one episode. I could literally feel myself living through these characters with these episodes. Despite how ridiculous the premise of the plot is (I mean... just look at that summary lol), the characters are so relatable and also so, so human.

Kudos to all the actors and the whole production crew that pulled this series together. There's nothing better than watching a show so good that every episode can get people to come together to analyze every character action and plot point. The cinematography, music, and acting for certain pivotal scenes needs a special shout out (episodes 11, 18 and 19, I'm looking at you), as well as the absolute incredible chemistry between Zi Yu and Tian Xu Ning, who truly embodied their characters and really brought Wu Suo Wei and Chi Cheng to life.

NOTE: Please heed the warnings and don't go into this expecting all flowers and rainbows because you will be disappointed. The show is based off a novel that is wildly unhinged and was written a long time ago. They've tamed it down a lot but 99% of the characters I would say are morally grey at best, and certain plot points do require a suspension of belief. This show isn't for everyone, and that's okay. However, if you do watch it, you are in for a hell of a ride. Enjoy the journey!

A Bold Start: Revenged Love Brings BL Drama to Life Despite the Odds

First of all, big respect to the team behind Revenged Love for being able to make this series happen, especially with China’s strict rules on BL shows. It’s not easy to create a story like this, but they did it—and it shows.

The show is well cast, and both the main couple and the second couple have great chemistry. You can really feel the connection between them. The funny scenes are also a nice touch and make the show more enjoyable to watch.

What I didn’t like were the scenes with snakes (I’m not a fan!) and the way the main lead, Chi Cheng, acts like a criminal or mafia boss. It feels a bit too much sometimes and makes his character harder to like.

Still, the first four episodes look very promising. The story is interesting, the acting is good, and it’s surprising to know the series will have 24 episodes. I really hope it won’t be banned or cut short like some other BL shows in China.

If it keeps going strong, Revenged Love could become one of the best Chinese BL dramas this year!
