Out of 350+ BLs During the Past Decade, This is the Best BL I Have Ever Watched in My Life!!!
I have said this many times already but this is truly the best BL I have ever watched in my life. I have seen more than 350+ BLs across 7 countries in the past 10 years, and nothing even comes close. The plot is gripping from start to finish, the acting is phenomenal, and the chemistry between the leads is unmatched. Every episode kept me hooked and every emotion hit deep. This is not just BL of the year, it is BL of the decade. Every 40-minute episode feels like just 5 minutes, leaving me craving more and counting the days until the next release.
China 🇨🇳 continues to dominate in cinematography, acting, storytelling, and chemistry. No one does historical costumes, horse riding, martial arts, or emotional intensity like them. Even The Untamed, despite heavy censorship, pulled in billions of views. Imagine the impact of a high-quality, uncensored Chinese BL with the same production scale. The talent is already there, just waiting for the freedom to shine. Hopefully, one day the BL ban will lift so we can see the full potential of these brilliant creators.
Revenged Love is written by Chai Ji Dan, the genius behind Addicted. I have waited almost a decade for something like this since Addicted was banned after episode 15. Watching Revenged Love feels like coming home, with heartfelt gestures, bike rides in the countryside, tender kisses, and fierce love that demands loyalty. The cornfield kiss was pure magic, soft yet intense, a silent promise of love. “Call me husband” was delivered with such deep, possessive emotion that it melted me instantly.
Episode 13 gave us so many iconic moments. Guo Cheng Yu caring for a tipsy Jiang Xiao Shuai was playful yet intimate, while Wu Suo Wei and Chi Cheng had me laughing in the shopping scene and breathless during the underwater kiss. That scene was a visual poem — slow, tender, and filled with longing. Lines like “I am a quick learner. Won’t take long before I become the perfect boyfriend” are the kind that stay with you long after the credits roll.
This drama does not just tell a story, it becomes part of your life. Every Monday and Tuesday, I wait like clockwork, heart pounding, ready to be swept away. When it ends, I know a part of me will go with it. If they ever release a photobook, DVD, or hold a fan meeting, I would buy everything and fly from Australia to China just to be there. That is how much this series has captured my heart.
The breakup scene was devastating — two souls tearing each other apart while still loving each other deeply. Wu Suo Wei’s sacrifice, selling his home, kneeling to his rival, and working endlessly to save Chi Cheng, is the purest form of love. His mother’s decision to hide her illness added another layer of heartbreak, leaving Chi Cheng caught between honesty and her final wish. I can only hope for a moment of reconciliation where she accepts their love before it is too late.
Episode 22 delivered playful chaos and emotional sweetness. The bathtub scene was sizzling, reminding us of the passionate bond between them. The sight of Chi Cheng, Wu Suo Wei, and the nephew together felt like a glimpse into the family they could be. If they cannot have children naturally, adoption or surrogacy would be the perfect way forward.
I’ve poured my heart into writing one for every episode, this is one example for expisode 23, obviously I cannot fit every episode's poem here.
Episode 23 shall be called ‘A Love That Sacrifices Everything.’
They said the last few episodes had too much comedy.
But this episode, the comedy is gone.
Episode 23 is sorrow in its purest form. 💔
Yue Yue drifted from Wu Suo Wei,
to Wang Zhen Long,
to Chi Cheng,
changing lovers like changing clothes,
always chasing the richer man.
And when Wu Suo Wei finally rose from poverty,
she dared to return.
When he refused her,
she turned to his mother.
If this is not the definition of a gold digger,
what is?
But Wu Suo Wei,
my heart aches for him.
Born poor,
counting every cent,
saving every coin.
Yet for Chi Cheng,
he sold everything,
even his home,
losing two million yuan,
just to save him.
Back on the streets,
he worked from dawn till night,
moulding sugar figurines,
hands raw and aching.
He knelt before Wang Zhen Long,
pride shattered,
for the man he loves.
And still, Wang Zhen Long came back to mock him.
Yet he stood tall.
He kept going.
If this is not love,
then love does not exist.
Even Chi Cheng’s rich parents stayed silent.
Was it because their son loves a man?
Would they rather leave their fortune to a grandson
than save their own child?
But there was one bright light,
Dr. Jiang Xiao Shuai,
offering help without hesitation.
A friend like that is rare.
And then the jail scene.
Two men, tears falling like rain.
Wu Suo Wei’s voice steady,
his love unshaken.
Chi Cheng saying, “I hate you,”
when what he really meant was,
I hate that you gave up everything for me.
I hate that you sold your family for my freedom.
Chi Cheng, crying quietly over a simple meal in prison,
is an image I’ll never forget.
Sometimes silence carries the loudest pain.
When Chi Cheng said, “I hate you,”
he was not pushing Wei Wei away
but drowning in the weight of sacrifice.
I hate that you gave up everything for me.
I hate that you sold your family for my freedom.
I hate that your happiness came at the cost of mine.
It is not hatred for Wei Wei
but hatred for a cruel fate they cannot escape.
If he truly meant those words,
he would not have sat there crying,
eating quietly, his tears falling unseen,
his walls crumbling, his heart bare.
His silence and broken guard
speak louder than any words ever could.
Tonight it all ends.
One last episode.
One final goodbye.
“I don’t need luxury,
I just need you.”
If this is not love,
tell me what is. 💔
Revenged Love has given me everything — romance, heartbreak, laughter, and moments so powerful they will stay with me forever. It is more than just perfect, it is a once-in-a-lifetime masterpiece that I will treasure for years to come. ❤️🔥

Wasting 24 episodes
Honestly, the series is good and interesting, or at least most of it. The chemistry between the characters is interesting and captivating. However, the last few episodes significantly lower the rating in my opinion. I feel like they wasted the potential of those 24 episodes. The action starts slowly at the beginning, only to pick up too much towards the end. They should have balanced the story more. The writing in the last few episodes is truly poor and weak, as if it was written in a hurry because there wasn't enough time. In the last three episodes, I couldn't help but feel that a large part of the story had been removed, making it a bit boring to watch. The action was artificially sped up, and yet not everything was explained (I still don't understand why Wang Shuo engages in a water pistol fight with them in the last episode).
I have a terrible feeling that people are overrating this drama because it's uncensored Chinese BL, not because it's actually that amazing. I understand the hype; a high rating might encourage more Chinese BL dramas to be made. On the other hand, inflating the rating just for that reason is akin to inflating the ratings of a series just because you like the actors.
Well, that's just my opinion. I'm someone who rates a show based solely on how much fun I had watching it. The series was a solid 8.5/10, but the final episodes may have dropped the quality. So, my final rating is 7.5/10
English is not my first language, but it is the only language in which I can watch dramas, so I hope my opinion is understandable.

really, really bad
couldn’t even get past the first ep. how is this an 8.9?? there is NO substance at all to it. the characters are the same typical 2D leads with no personality or complexity that BL dramas always seem to have. when will this genre change ?? it’s seriously so toxic how people don’t even clock how messed up the NC stuff is just because it’s BL. being BL does not make up for the fact this drama is just straight trash. absolute garbage with cringe characters and the acting IS bad ???? are people even watching the same drama i just saw ? genuinely, so disappointed both in the drama and the fan base. Was this review helpful to you?

I thought I wouldn't rewatch this drama, not even if I was paid, but thanks to the (currently lacking of) bts videos, I am rewatching some episodes 🙈. So yes, I am also going thru a mourning period of a drama that wasn't even that good to begin with... but it was also good at the same time? Memorable? Anyways, my - and + points:❌️ trashy plot: 🙊 like straight out of a fanfic or self-published novel. This one is an excellent example of "written by a woman for women" novel. The things they do and say are what we live for but also, highly unrealistic 😂
❌️ so many 2nd-hand embarrassment OMG. I thought my face was going to combust 🙈
❌️ love tangle: every guy is gay, and having something (emotionally or sexually) with at least two other guys (or girl). One of my pet peeves. Specially CC... he is no LWJ for example, like a guy for one guy only.
❌️ stereotypes: about exes (they are either trash or crazy), gays (no bisexuality in this world building; and they are either a top, if tall, or a bottom, if smaller), etc.
❌️ blowing figure candies: people eat that?? 🤢
❌️ messy ML: he never redeemed himself since that first episode. A giant criminal. And his diet is based on cigarrettes, alcohol and sex, no wonder he is so skinny 💀
❌️ a doctor of 20 years old having his own clinic?? 😑
❌️ editing: typical cdrama. It is obvious they had to cut a lot.
❌️ the waterbed. WTH. It is not comfortable at all, not even for sleeping. And for what they use it for... 🙈 please, a firm place is a must.
❌️ on their own, the doctor and CGY were lovely, but together... nah, wasn't a fan.
❌️ I am not a fan of snakes but the leads love them and that loose importance in the last 8eps or so. Made me judge the leads 😅
✅️ I am completely smitten with TXN 🥰 so professional! And so much confidence in even the most difficult scenes. So it is no wonder why he has so much chemistry with almost every guy... the guy exudes sensuality and intensity, a must for a CBL drama/leads, imo. I think ZY was overwhelmed sometimes 😅
✅️ a ML who is veeeery touchy-feely 🥰🥰
✅️ I had fun with the embarrassing moments 😅 I laughed so much.
✅️ good kisses and good chemistry.
✅️ hella addictive 🥰
✅️ the nickname "WeiWei"... sounds like "bebé" 🥰
✅️ I enjoyed (and am enjoying) the bts videos. The guys are adorable, even more than in the drama. And I absolutely adore the shock factor every time TXN opens his mouth 😂
Recommended? Uhm yeah, not for the script though 😂 but beware, the addiction is real.

The worst BL after KinnPorsche to gain such huge ratings when it's so poorly written.
rewatch value ? none.first watch value? same.
coming from a fan of all genres who actually has a sense of morality :).
this show (and YES I watched it till the end and no it doesn't "get better/alright") only softens or glamorizes acts such as r*pe, gangr*pe, various abuses, coercions, addictions,. NO, the male leads both being red flags doesn't flatten this AT ALL.
I have rarely watched such a bad serie. acting wasn't half bad, but I couldn't feel anything for the characters, cinematography was rather ugly (was this filmed ten years ago or what? little budget doesn't excuses bad script or poor camera movements, and that's coming from a filmmaking graduate!), musics were boring, storyline was full of holes...
not only is it bringing shade to the queer community and the representation of gays in general in the cinema industry (trust me, my studies were solely on that so put your brain back in and avoid this show) but this show is also ruining the male representation in bls specifically : violences is NORMAL, manipulation is ROMANTIC, rape is SEXY.
here's your 2025 bingo.
such shows should have never seen the day as they're only ruining whatever we queer people had of hopes in how the filming industry would portray us.
and NO the mafia/red flag setting isn't a magic wand making everything alright because it's "fiction".
now adressing the "fans" of this show who may come here and defend this trash:
YOU people are the problem for liking such an ass of a show because you ERASE the moral code of the story to keep only the fantasms of the scenes you watched. and oh, unsurprinsingly, you people are mostly females since, no joke, bl industry is for women and only portrays clichés and fetichisms <3
(and said moral code is already hard to grasp, but the pretty privilege of handsome actors isn't an excuse. what you're doing, rewatching those rapes scenes is only VOYEURISM because we all know yall did not watch the show for the dialogues, but only for the abuse scenes)

Not really worth it and its completely overrated
Ps: this is just my opinion so don't take what i say to personally i will be saying the things i liked and the things i didn’t like.THE THINGS I LIKED: (why its at a 7)
- i liked how there was a child made it seem like they where raising the kid!
- i liked the visuals there was many attractive characters!
- very expensive houses and decor, accessories, clothing etc looked rich when it needed to be and poor when it needed to be.
- there was some cute touchy moments
- kisses seemed real and authentic / genuine
- creative and different jobs like sugar making and owning a decorative company which is unique i loved that
- i loved how they where rude to their exes and weren’t letting them slide with things
- i also liked how there was different plot points for an example losing your mother and going to jail
- loved how there where snakes i thought it was cool
- cute intro
- episodes came out 2 times a week and the last 6 episodes where put every day so it was a last week of episodes.
THINGS I DID NOT LIKE (why its at a 7)
- music was horrible always playing the same song
- chi chengs and wu so Wei's arguments never get solved they just out of nowhere are good again
- voice overs and dubbing is horrible and unfunny made me cringe multiple times
- way too long 24 episodes? 30 to 40 minutes? is way to long for a series that in my opinion might not be worth the time cuz for me it wasn’t worth it
- not giving us a recap of the previous episode
- confusing characters and there names where very similar so it was hard for me to tell who is who
- very overrated
- plans that they where making to get chi cheng was confusing
- i thought some points or senes where childish i thought that wu so weis character acted a bit childish
- wanted more spice there was barely any spice
- chi cheng and go cheng yu where not good in the beginning but out of nowhere they are like brothers
- chi chengs ex was a confusing character i never knew what he was trying to do and what his intentions where he was poorly executed

THE BEST
Applause to CJD for bringing his character back to life and giving it another chance. Applause as well to the production team—I didn’t skip a single scene! And most of all, applause to the actors for doing justice to their characters. I’m very thankful to all of you, especially since CJD’s stories are very close to my heart. Was this review helpful to you?
COORNDINATED BOT ATTACK ON GENUINE AND NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF THIS DRAMA
Cringe acting, Unnecessary scenes of SA in a low quality script riding on BL dopamine and politics (this was the original title)Is there a way to somehow report harassment on MDL because I wrote this review long ago but have to update a lot because this is very different from other drama fandoms....there is constant harassment. Sometimes, one person replies twice or thrice under one comment and these are generally hostile. (There's also clever attempt to call people homophobic for saying that no means no ...even if its a man assaulting a man ans there's no need to whitewash or downplay or romanticise it)
The script has the quality of those 5 minute short dramas. Its pathetic. Its straight up rejected wattpad script.
I agree with Sarina's review here because this entire community is busy in BURYING AND DOWNPLAYING R*P* . The ML is actually orders gang rap* of a man in the first episode. This pretty much establishes his personality in the beginning and he has zero concept of consent for his partner.
Later on, he violates the consent and body of the ML many times and as pointed out by several people here, he does it many times after first episode.
The PR of this drama is busy in defending that by telling people that its actually like watching murder mysteries when its not! The script portrays him AS A ROMANTIC LEAD and not as a r@p*st. If this drama was about a r@p*st then, I would have agreed with them. Its quite shocking that people are being shamed for having basic respect for the character's dignity and autonomy.
🌟The PR is even comparing it some of the most well written things you have seen on TV and cinema.. for example, game of thrones, Godfather and other genres which AREN'T ROMANCE genre at all and even the writer might feel ashamed of a rejected wattpad script being compared to it by the PR. GOT shows incest, grooming of minors in times in fake land and nobody romanticises it "ships" them together unless they are in the same relationship in alabama and need some coping. This drama romanticises lack of consent and abuse. People want to see them "together happy forever" . They also have the audacity to compare ancient barbarians with MODERN ROMANCE which is a testament to the fact thar the ML has acted like a barbarians in matters of consent. This is early onset of complete madness. The denial of romanticisation of rapist and abuse is very real🌟
To add to this, every valid criticism of reinforcement of the most toxic and mysogynistic themes and romanticisation of it has been hit with the most immature "bl vs non bl" argument. Of course, sinophobia (quite obvious even for a non chinese like me) and political drama between west and east is also a part of this discourse which adds to the popularity of this drama. There's a lot of people who believe that they are fighting Chinese govt and its okay to support the abuse and mysogyny in this fight against the chinese govt. They have been using "China will ban it" 🚫 as a marketing campaign for this drama to create hype. Romanticisation of abusers while pretending to be allies is nasty. This is not it. That's counterproductive and anti progress. Genuine reviewers are being harassed for not liking this drama because
🌟1) they found the acting to be loud an cringy
🌟2) the script romanticises abuser and the direction tries to whitewash his character which is a valid criticism of both writing as well as direction
🌟3) It was marketed as a funny drama but honestly, other than being cringy, its very disturbing as well. Its hard to laugh at at an abusive relationship or an abuser. So, a lot of people didn't find it funny.
(You can see that almost all negative reviews of this drama which give relevant points about why they were put off by it, are harassed)
Otherwise, its nowhere close to the the BLs that have come out this year...let alone being called the best BL of all times ☠️
The discourse that romanticises all problems and boring part of this drama has been dominated by non cdrama or non asian audience on western social media and that's where I recieved my recommendation from. I excitedly DIVED INTO IT WITH CHILDLIKE HAPPINESS UNTIL THIS DRAMA GOT BORING, CRINGE AND PROBLEMATIC (which started from the very first episode). PR has been asking for support by exploiting the sentiments of a lot of folks which is why you will see that not only the drama but the horrendous original work of the author also has widespread support among international audience.
It has terribly high rating because international fans consider it "China's BL comeback"
when in reality, its just a comeback of mysogyny, abuse, age old concept of patriarchy but most importantly (for drama audience) hostile marketing of LOW QUALITY PRODUCTS😔The women defending all of this are laughable.
If you are one of those women who get excited by two men being all over each other and your entire pull depends on sexual chemistry.. ..or you are a teen, you might enjoy it. That too, isn't as great as some Thai BLs to be honest.
This should also have some tags like 🚫 "Ra***t romanticisation". I know that would be quite bold but if they can show it, why not say it?
This drama definitely doesn't deserve a rating of 8.9 ....the rating at best should be at 4 at best though I don't even consider it worth watching !! If you like some quality in scripts, stay away from it.
Its highly disappointing!
I dropped this in the first half.
There's a lot of overrated chinese dramas here and I have called them out but this one takes the cake for being the most overrated if we consider its rating and quality

Started strong and ended lukewarm
I feel like this is the ending and the last episode is the thing that kills so many BL’s for me personally it was clear that the production just wanted to do what people truly wanted and give them a happy ending of all characters.full of mystery, emotional tension, and sharp writing. Unfortunately, Episode 24 falls flat in comparison. The payoff never matches the early intrigue, with rushed resolutions and character arcs that feel forced or abandoned. Plot twists lack impact, and emotional moments fail to resonate. What began as a promising, layered drama ends with a whimper, relying on clichés rather than the bold storytelling it teased at the start. For a show that opened with such fire, the finale is disappointingly lukewarm. Was this review helpful to you?
I didn't cringe once
Sure, there's some things I don't agree with. I wish they didn't just brush off that part, it's horrible and shouldn't happen..no matter what the reason is. I know it's fiction, but I wish they would be a little bit considerate, like putting some disclaimer or something. Because , that's basically a crime, one of the most horrible thing you can do to anyone. I was taken aback at first, almost dropped the series because of that. The minus point is only because of that scene. Aside from that, it's a great bl I have seen in a long while. The acting and chemistry are excellent. I hope it will only gets better. Was this review helpful to you?
The Chinese BL which took Dramaland by storm ! A fun and wild ride <3
I truly enjoyed this BL, especially in its first half. I did find some of the secondary storylines developped in the second half not very well handled but overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome of the drama. The chemistry between the two main leads was very solid : I could totally see the sparks and the way they fell hard (and harder) for each other was amazing. The angst promised by the script was sold very well by the actors, I broke with them as the events unfolded. If I truly became enamored by the relationship between the main couple ( Wu Suo Wei and Chi Cheng), I have doubts regarding the secondary relationship. I adored Guo Cheng Yu and Jiang Xiao Shuai as individual characters but I clearly was less convinced by them as a couple. The potential was there but the payoff of their journey felt a bit underwhelming. Their relationship with the main characters was however fantastic and one of the best of the series.
Production was alright : nothing outstanding, except the soundtrack which I liked even if it was quite repetitive. There were an indie feel to one song that was very fitting some of the most memorable moments. Some of the actions scenes were a bit ridiculous but I liked the way they showcased the various snakes. The editing could have been better with the switch between scenes being sometimes jarringly awkward.
This unhinged Chinese (!) BL is worth a shot for all afficionado of the genre. If you are looking for some passionate and crazy relationships story, this one is for you. If you enjoyed series like KinnPorsche or Kiseki Dear To Me, you will for sure have fun with this one as well as they share similar vibes. Be aware that snakes plays a big role in the scenario, so if you are suffering fromn ophidiophobia, you might want to stay far away from it.

OVERRATED Hype but is worth a watch only to support Chinese BL actors and productions.
+0.5 rating to support Chinese BL productionsI wish I liked “Revenged Love” as much as many. The hype of this drama was crazy and maybe that’s why my expectations were high. I wanted to support Chinese BL and wanted to see more uncensored production, but I can’t deny the fact that I was bored in the last quarter of the drama and there are some annoying factors that really bugged me.
What I Liked:
1. Seeing where Wu Suo Wei and Chi Cheng started in episode 1 and following their romance all the way until episode 24. I might not like everything during this journey, but the leads have great chemistry and their story was interesting.
2. Bromance between Chi Cheng and Guo Cheng Yu. For most of the drama, they are frennemies and their friendly rivalry was fun. However, once the misunderstanding was clear, I loved their bromance even more. They not only know each other well, but support each other in ways that only best childhood friends can. I wish we could see this side of their bromance sooner.
3. Bromance between Wu Suo Wei and Jing Xiao Shuai. Their friendship feels a lot ‘younger’ but nonetheless supportive and fun. It was most fun during the earlier episodes when they were scheming and Jiang Xiao Shuai acted like a gay love expert. But when he’s actually in a relationship, his inexperience shows.
4. OST. There are a few very lovely songs, and they complement the drama scenes very well.
5. Tian Xu Ning as Chi Cheng. I felt that Tian Xu Ning’s acting is the strongest out of the 4 main actors. Apparently I saw him a few months ago in “Wanna Be”, but I have no recollection at all. Chi Cheng is my favorite character here. Seeing him transform from this super red flag to a petty and jealous green flag (at least to Wu Suo Wei) is fun. I do miss his ruthlessness.
What I have Mixed Feelings or Don’t Like:
1. Wu Suo Wei. As much as I enjoy seeing him with Chi Cheng and their romance, I don’t like Wu Suo Wei much as a character, especially when he’s acting like a spoiled child. I also can’t stand his (or the actor’s) whiny and fake crying voice. He was first introduced as a somewhat innocent guy who couldn’t see through his ex’s shallowness. Yet, all of a sudden, he miraculously becomes this creative and business-minded genius with a successful company? Wu Suo Wei is also not a very honest communicator. Chi Cheng is straightforward and honest. Wu Suo Wei could have easily asked him questions instead of assuming and assuming wrong.
2. Dubbing. Zi Yu/Wu Suo Wei seems to be the only one using his voice. All others are dubbed and they pick the most annoying voices. I especially dislike whoever is dubbing for Liu Xuan Cheng/Jiang Xiao Shuai.
3. The return of the Ex. That plot lasted wayyyyy too long. Misunderstanding is OK and I understand it’s a part of the plot. But having that arc drags on for so many episodes really tested my patience. It’s especially worse when the misunderstanding could be easily resolved if the leads would just speak to each other (see the above point about Wu Suo Wei).
4. The final arc with the tax stuff bored me, and at this point in the drama, we really don’t need that. There has to be a better way to write about the parents’ disapproval instead of adding that last tax bit.
5. Secondary romance was OK. They have their moments but I felt that the writing could have been better and make their romance a lot more interesting.
6. The acting isn’t that great. The emotional scenes are hard to watch with the fake crying. Comparatively, the cheesy, fluffy scenes are easier to stomach.
7. Kisses are below-average. Because of the hype, I thought there would be amazing kisses and sexy scenes in “Revenged Love”. Let’s just say I am greatly disappointed.
I am not sure if I would recommend “Revenged Love”, unless, like me, you want to check it out and see what all the fuss is about this drama. Or, check this out to support Chinese BL productions and the actors who are willing to risk their careers to take on this project. The first half of the drama is so much more interesting than the second half. I am a binge-watcher who stays up late in the early morning to finish a drama, even on a work day. But with “Revenged Love” last night, I only had 1.5 episodes left, and I never had the urge to binge it all the way to the end. That’s a strong indicator that this is not a drama I can rate an 8 or above.
