A good show but could've been better
at first it was really nice and freshthe interaction and their act are really natural and it's interesting to watch
they start making friends, writing letters and hangouts together
i love seeing them doing nice thing together
Most of the cast had some bad past and as the time goes they try to overcome that with being open to eachother
lots of problems happened and i think most of the problems are kinda overdramatic
it's hard to watch when they could just talk about it but they choose silence and try to fight
2 new people come and it kinda ruin the dynamic of the show, it becomes more like a drama than reality show
i think it could be better if they know how to execute this, everything kinda overdramatic after 3 episodes
i mean crying over someone you just met couple days ago is kinda crazy hahaha
and the fact that yanboh kicked out because something he said but baby is forgiven after hurting someone physically it's not fair
overall it's pretty good but could've been better
TACKLE MY GUY HE'S THE BEST, HE'S THE ONLY ONE LOYAL FROM THE START!

A Show That Needed a Better Editor
The showrunners could have handled the story arcs far better. A more linear edit would’ve helped viewers fully immerse themselves in each cast member’s background. Instead, the editing feels scattered and erratic—so much so that it pulls you out of the experience. At times, it feels less like watching a show and more like being thrown into an editing room, sifting through raw footage in search of a “moment.” The flow simply doesn’t work.Having watched most dating shows from China and South Korea—and recently exploring Japanese ones—this was a letdown. The only reason I rated it a 7.0 is because it’s a Japanese production, where my expectations are admittedly lower. If this OUTPUT were somehow actually produced by China or Korea, it would’ve landed closer to a 5.0 or 6.0.

A unique "Yankii" romance concept that shows promise, despite a repetitive format.
I picked up Badly In Love looking for something casual to pass the time, and it turned out to be a decent watch. The premise is fascinating: 10 episodes featuring men and women who are former "Yankii" (delinquents) with troubled pasts, all gathered to find genuine love. The cast is the highlight; their growth and emotions felt authentic and real. However, the execution left a bit to be desired. The entire show is set in a school, and the "dates" became quite repetitive very quickly. Unlike other dating shows where couples travel or experience new things together to bond, being stuck in the school setting limited their ability to deepen their connections. It’s a great concept that needs better organization, but for a first season, it remains an entertaining, light binge. Was this review helpful to you?

Good Premise, Bad Execution
I dont like writing long reviews so ill keep it short.Ive watched lots of Reality TV Shows from many countries and while I loved the premise of this show, the execution was really bad. The first few episodes are really good and hook you, but as the show goes on, it really is a hard watch. Not only that but in many scenes you get the feeling it was scripted or people behaved a way that seemed a little too exaggerated for their usual behaviour.
Also, what bothered me a lot was how they disqualify Yanboh for a drug joke but not Baby for physically hurting somebody.
On top of that, later episodes seemed really stale, as there werent many challenges or crazy date/ group dates anymore.
I also think the show wouldve been way more exciting if there were actual couples to be formed or challenges where people would have to tell each other their opinions of one another, stuff like that that add tension in formats like Singles Inferno or Love Island.
ALSO MY BIGGEST CRITIQUE: When Oto tells everyone how she was literally raped, everybody is silent. Not anyone in the cast says anything and not even the moderators. It is just glanced over and in the next scene they go on joking. That was REALLY WEIRD and not okay to see.

A reality show that is truly REAL and not just a date reality show!
Best japanese reality show EVER!!!I love everything about this reality, they tell us the background of everyone there and how they become a "delinquent" and also they show us how people can change and truly wants to be a better person, they show us that everyone has flaws and qualities no matter the appearance or the past.
Watching the evolution of everyone there is amazing!
I loved every single episode!
Of course that there will be some cliches and exaggerations made by the producers here and there but that's ok, all reality shows are like that, they want to entertain people after all, but that doesn't bother me at all!
I'm so glad that netflix already confirmed a second season!!! I'm looking forward to see more, this is finally a REAL reality show! I can't wait for the second season!!
Plus the opening song is amazing and so nostalgic!! 10/10
