Classic cute school JBL

It was fun to see Konishi Eito play in a BL again. It's a sweet and lighthearted story, nothing innovative, but I enjoyed watching it.

You can watch it on Viki: https://www.viki.com/tv/41662c-after-moving-seats-the-boy-behind-me-has-a-crush-on-me
or GagaOOLala: https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/8456/after-moving-seats-the-boy-behind-me-has-a-crush-on-me-2026

Things I liked:
1. Friends. It's always nice to see good, supportive friends.
2. Mayama's brother. He seems like a really sweet and supportive older brother.
3. Asamiya. He is a big green flag.
4. Lots of cute and sweet moments.
5. Funny moments.

Things I disliked:
1. Cliches.
2. No side couple. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a story focused only on Mayama and Asamiya, but since we got teased with a side couple and never got it, I got a bit disappointed.

Just another highschool JBL

It's just another Japanese highschool BL with a popular guy and his secret crush aka an insecure loner. It brings nothing new to the table. I'm ok with cliche stories but there has to be great chemistry between leads and some good dialogues but this series doesn't have anything to make itself special in some way. I finished it since it's short but I don't recommend.

Love the chemistry and relatability!

Wow I love the chemistry between both the leads and the beautiful vibe of this series! ✨ First of all, the casting of this series is excellent, and the music is really nice too!

But the biggest thing for me is how relatable it felt. The way Mayama feels about himself, like he is just out of place and can't be loved, and how he has such low self-esteem in front of other people... I feel like this will be very relatable to people who struggle with the same things in real life.

Especially that feeling of thinking we are inferior to others and that everyone else is better than us, or feeling like we aren't good enough or worthy of someone. But in reality, a lot of the time, it's just our own imagination making us feel that way. 🥹

They can kiss

Is this the longest title of a BL I have ever witnessed? LOL. Well, it is the plot! Yes, it’s as simple as that. 😂 But honestly, I didn’t expect to love this one so much.
This might be my favorite JBL, along with the other ongoing JBL I’m watching right now. Yes, the plot is as simple as the title, but I swear, this is SO cute. 🥹🥹
There’s no overacting or exaggerated reactions. It’s just a calm confession with very calm flirting, and somehow, that makes everything even cuter. The whole series has this soft and natural vibe that I really enjoyed.
The conflicts presented are mostly hidden traumas that might not seem like a big deal to most people, but can actually be a big deal to someone who experienced them. It really shows how one person’s actions, even if they seem small or harmless, can affect someone else’s life.
I also love how the conversations, confessions, and misunderstandings were handled. They weren’t resolved in an easy way, but at the same time, they weren’t dragged out unnecessarily either. As a viewer, you can actually see that they are capable of working through their own problems themselves, and I really appreciate that.
Both characters also had their own character development. Asamiya learned to slow down and not overwhelm Mayama, while Mayama learned to express his feelings more and tried to keep up with Asamiya’s pace. They both adjusted for each other, and because of that, they were able to meet halfway. And that’s probably what I love most about their relationship. It’s not just one person constantly adjusting for the other. They both learned, changed, and made an effort to understand each other.
The chemistry between the actors is so cute too, especially with the height difference and everything. I love them both so much, I swear! 🥹
And the kiss???!! THEY CAN KISS!!! HARD!!! HAHAHAHA. 😂🔥
Overall, this is such a simple story, but sometimes that’s exactly what makes a series work. It doesn’t need unnecessary drama or complicated conflicts to make the relationship interesting. It’s just two people slowly learning how to understand, love, and adjust to each other.

They moved seats, and somehow they moved my heart, too

With such a long title contrasted by a surprisingly short number of episodes, I instantly felt that this was going to be a fun show. And after learning that two amazing actors had been cast in the lead roles, I became even more excited to watch it. The chemistry between Gennosuke and Eito was incredibly fun, and they delivered such great kissing scenes! They devoured each other without ever losing that touch of gentleness, creating the perfect mixture of sweetness, passion, and heat.

Their love story was just so cute! Confessing their feeling after changing seats immediately built up the tension and entertainment value of the story. The sticky-note attack was absolutely adorable. Asamiya being possessive of Mayama is such a classic trope that I will always be a fan of. And he is handsome too! Just look at that alluring face paired with such a masculine physique. Putting him together with the adorable and innocent-looking Mayama already felt like the perfect pairing to me.

The romantic scenes gave me butterflies. Even before the misunderstanding between them, they consistently delivered plenty of lovey-dovey moments, especially through Asamiya’s admiration for Mayama. I loved seeing how openly affectionate he was toward him.

Mayama’s brother also played a perfect supportive role, and he is quite a fine-looking man himself. The two friends also contributed nicely to the story, helping the main characters shine even brighter.

I especially loved the way they danced during every ending. The NPC song is so beautiful and adds even more meaning to the story. I absolutely loved it.

One aspect of the character development that stood out to me was how they gradually became more comfortable communicating their thoughts and feelings honestly with each other. After becoming boyfriends, they became even more open and sincere toward one another. That was beautifully highlighted in the important scene near the end, when they admitted that they both wanted to touch each other. It perfectly sealed the series with yet another passionate kiss, in the same seats that started their love story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this show. It was cute, romantic, funny, and passionate, with a pairing that had a great chemistry. Despite a few slower moments, the sweetness of their relationship and the entertainment they brought to the story made the series a genuinely enjoyable watch for me.

Kyaaa!!! Soo freaking cute!!! Give me a season 2 right now!!!

I've been Eito's fan since Takara's treasure. That's how i found this one. Loved Takara's treasure which was also my 1st bl but i think i loved this much much more. Literally every character was lovable, mayama, his brother, asamiya, his friends literally everyone.

I literally loved every second of it. I really loved how Asamiya was giving me 2nd hand embarrassing while saying unhinged things with straight face🤭. How Mayama grew throughout the show and became Asamiya 2.0. Another new thing i saw here was that although it seemed like the friends knew they didn't.

But now i want a season 2 cz i want to see them come out to their families. I wanna see how Mayama's brother would react to Asamiya taking his baby brother🤭🤭. I wanna see how Sakaki and Hikaru's story goes cz they hinted that Sakaki has a crush on Hikaru. Also the show ended in the beginning of the main cp's story and before the 2nd cp's story started so i want more. I want to see Mayama and Asamiya's 1st onsen date and their 1st time at each other's place etc..

Rn it's a really good ending BUT I just want more🥺🥺

a typical jbl

Started watching this after i had just caught up on Popular Serizawa, n i noticed how similar the 2 are. its literally the same show just in different font. that doesnt mean it wasnt enjoyable tho. i very much enjoyed it. but it very much follows the same tropes as ur typical jbl: matching items, miscommunication, popular guy likes unpopular guy, a group outing turns into a date but its not rly a date, festival stuff n so on.

i think the only thing that set this apart from other jbls like it is they gave us actual kisses instead of dead fish kisses. im still shocked.

oh and i rly like the ost song.

A tender coming-of-age romance

This was a very tender coming-of-age story; like many dramas of this genre, it is nothing original, and that's not bad. This was sweet, with typical puppy love growing pains. It was low in drama but with enough heartaches and sweet moments to make this an enjoyable journey.

For a 30-minute per episode drama, the plot develops nicely and the pacing feels fine. I would have loved more episodes or for them to be 45-minute episodes to flesh out the story more, especially the family relationship that, although it was good, had a lot of potential for more character development.

I find this production to be a comfortable series to unwind with.

Japan does it again!

This was another great high school drama from Japan. I will never get bored of these kind of stories.
It had great visuals and the music was good.

All the actors did a very good job.
The mains had great chemistry and good kisses, i was surprised, because the kisses in Japanese bl's aren't great most of the time.

I highly recommend watching this drama.

So cute

I really enjoyed this BL. It was very cute and the storyline was realistic. The casting was absolutely nailed! Both Main Caster’s were perfectly cast. It did not feel like I was watching actors “act”, if you catch my drift. I would love to see these two cast in something else together!! One thing I would like to say, not necessarily having to do with this particular BL, is the script constantly having irritating “miscommunications”, it drives bonkers 😂😂😂

A seat change and a great story takes off ...

This is an extremely "cute" series from start to finish. A lot of BL's give you that dramatic antagonist getting in the way with the relationship of the two protagonists, that does not happen here. This is a coming of age group of high school kids dealing with emotions that are forming and changing right before our eyes in each episode.
At times, it's a little bit bizarre with the actions of Asamiya toward Mayama, but once you begin to understand his feelings, everything really becomes so enjoyable, as we watch it play out.
Besides being good looking and charming, he's nice, too nice, which kind of made me a little suspicious in the early episodes, but as you get into the middle part of the series, the chemistry really does come out with this cast. Eito Konishi does a great job with a strong personality and appearance change for his character over the later part of the series. He eventually appears as an equal to Gennosuke's character, which really didn't seem possible when you look back at the first few episodes.
Even the supporting cast of friends play a major role in the foundation in making this an extremely light hearted, enjoyable series to relax in your chair and enjoy.
There's a line used at the very end that sum up just about everything ...."A relationship that began with a fateful seat change ... like people & seasons, things will change again, because everything changes over time"
Thumbs up!!!
