On July 21, media outlets reported that Kim Go Eun and Kang Dong Won will work together in the upcoming historical romance K-drama Soul. According to reports, the K-drama will be a joint work between the director of When Life Gives You Tangerines and the writer of Queen of Tears.
Kim Go Eun's agency, BH Entertainment, has responded to the casting reports. The agency shared, "Kim Go Eun has received the offer to star in Soul, and she is currently reviewing it." Meanwhile, Kang Dong Won's side hasn't released an official statement yet.
Soul will be the collaboration work of director Kim Won Suk (When Life Gives You Tangerines, My Mister, Signal, and Misaeng: Incomplete Life) and writer Park Ji Eun (Queen of Tears, Crash Landing on You, and My Love from the Star).
As of now, details regarding the plot, filming schedule, airing date, and broadcast channel for the upcoming K-drama are still not revealed. However, reports indicated that two top actors are reportedly set to collaborate on a historical K-drama, joining forces with highly acclaimed directors and writers.

If Kim Go Eun confirms her casting, this will be her fourth upcoming K-drama. The actress is also set to lead the upcoming series The Price of Confession, You and Everything Else, and Yumi's Cells Season 3.
Kim Go Eun was last seen on the small screen in 2022 through the series Little Women.
If Kang Dong Won confirms his role, this historical K-drama will mark his second small-screen comeback, following the upcoming 2025 Disney+ original, Tempest with Jun Ji Hyun. His last K-drama appearance was in 2004.
Aside from his grand K-drama comeback, Kang Dong Won will also lead the upcoming film Wild Thing with Uhm Tae Goo, Park Ji Hyun, and Oh Jung Se.
