Kim Sae Ron's posthumous film 'Everyday, We' confirmed to premiere in 2026
Squid Game has once again proven its worldwide success by winning several awards at a recent American awards ceremony.
On August 19 (KST), the Gold Derby TV Awards announced the winners and Netflix's original K-drama Squid Game (Seasons 2 and 3) has received numerous awards. 7,286 registered Gold Derby users voted across 30 categories for dramas, comedies, movies, limited series, and variety shows released in 2024 and 2025.
Squid Game Season 2 and 3 won several major awards, including Best Drama Series and Ensemble of the Year. They also took home acting awards for Lee Jung Jae (Best Actor), Kang Ae Shim (Best Supporting Actress), Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P) (Best Supporting Actor), and Gong Yoo (Best Drama Guest Actor).
The Gold Derby Awards, celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year, honored both Squid Game Season 2 and Season 3. The awards covered both seasons since Netflix released Season 2 last December and Season 3 this June.
Squid Game Season 2 and 3 featured the final battle between the players and the creators of the deadly games. Returning to the deadly game after winning the first season, Player 456, Seong Gi Hun, and the other survivors faced even deadlier challenges that truly tested their will to live against their greed for money.
The Netflix original K-drama was led by Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Shim, Jo Yu Ri, Park Gyu Young, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, and more.
The three seasons of Squid Game were created by director Hwang Dong Hyuk, who is also known for the films The Fortress, Miss Granny, and Silenced.
All three seasons of Squid Game are available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
