On the morning of January 21, "Next on Netflix 2026 Korea" was held in Seoul. In attendance were Kang Dong Han, Netflix Korea's VP of Content; Bae Jong Byeong, Senior Director of Series; Kim Tae Won, Director of Films; Yoo Ki Hwan, Director of Variety; as well as actors Jeon Do Yeon, Park Eun Bin, and Nam Joo Hyuk, among others.

As Netflix marks the 10th anniversary of its service launch in Korea, executives and directors reflected on the past decade and outlined their vision for the future. Some of the titles set to be released this year include The East Palace, starring Nam Joo Hyuk; The WONDERfools, starring Park Eun Bin and Cha Eun Woo; Tantarastarring Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo; Bloodhounds Season 2starring Woo Do Hwan, Lee Sang Yi, Rain; Our Sticky Love, starring Jung Hae In, Ha Young;  Culinary Class Wars Season 3featuring Anh Sung Jae; and Teach You a Lesson, adapted from the controversial webtoon "Get Schooled", among many others.

Responding to a question about the production of Teach You a LessonBae Jong Byeong, Senior Director of Series, said, "It is a project developed based on a webtoon, and we approached its development with a sense of responsibility, as it deals with a story that is absolutely necessary in this era."

Based on the webtoon "Get Schooled", the story sparked controversy for depicting corporal punishment in which inspectors slap students, for including racially discriminatory expressions toward people of color, and for portraying scenes in which a teacher of feminism is slapped as a form of catharsis. It also equated education about feminism with anti-communist indoctrination, leading to criticism of sexism. It faced strong backlash from international readers, and in September 2023, it was removed from the platform's US service. Subsequently, original creators Chae Yong Taek and Han Ga Ram issued an apology in English, and after resuming serialization three months later, without offering any further explanation domestically, the webtoon drew even more criticism from Korean readers.

In the light of all this, Director Bae Jong Byeong said, "We are well aware of the criticism and concerns surrounding certain episodes in the original work. Being aware of that, we made efforts to prepare thoroughly and to make the drama with a refined perspective and a sense of responsibility," adding, "Once it is released, you will be able to see how those aspects have been addressed."

Teach You a Lesson revolves around the theme of "true education" carried out by the Teachers' Rights Protection Office, an institution established to safeguard South Korea's crumbling educational authority and school system, which have been undermined by students, teachers, and parents who cross the line. The series is scheduled to be released on Netflix in the second quarter of this year.
