Fan Cheng Cheng's studio plans legal action against underage sasaeng fans
Disney+ has confirmed the production of Born Guilty and announced the casting of Park Seo Joon, Um Tae Goo, and Jo Hye Joo.
Born Guilty is a crime-action noir set in a lawless city during the redevelopment boom of the 1980s. The story follows the villain Paeng Yi, who recklessly pursues his goals, and Saeng Dak, a gang member, as they risk everything for a life-changing gamble.
Park Seo Joon takes on the role of Paeng Yi, a notorious villain who embodies the desires of the era. Paeng Yi is a mysterious man who suddenly appears in an area about to be swept by a redevelopment frenzy ahead of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. As he plunges into the drug trade, he draws in Saeng Dak and Bok Hee, pushing them into a maelstrom of chaos.
Um Tae Goo joins the cast as the Saeng Dak, a member of the Bukgu faction. Saeng Dak is a man whose life is completely shaken when he betrays his organization and accepts a once-in-a-lifetime offer from Paeng Yi.
Jo Hye Joo takes on the role of Bok Hee, the key supplier in the drug trade and Paeng Yi's first love. Bok Hee becomes involved with Paeng Yi through the drug business. After their reunion, she shakes up the game with a series of unpredictable choices and actions.
Park Seo Joon said, "It's both a character and a story I've been waiting for. It's a project that inevitably stirs ambition in me as an actor. Through the role of Paeng Yi, I think I'll be able to show a completely new side of myself."
Um Tae Goo commented, "It's a work with a variety of characters, and the script is very interesting. I feel both nervous and excited, and I will do my best during filming."
Jo Hye Joo shared, "The historical backdrop is interesting, and each character's circumstances and motivations left a strong impression. It's such a compelling project that I wanted to join as soon as I read the script."
Born Guilty will premiere sometime in 2027. Stay tuned!
