Netflix ropes in Lee Jae Wook, Go Min Si, Kim Min Ha, and Lee Hee Joon for a horror K-drama
Netflix has confirmed the release date for Train to Busan director Yeon Sang Ho's upcoming K-movie Revelations for March 21.
The Netflix movie tells the story of a pastor who believes God has given him a divine revelation to sentence the culprit of a missing person case, and a detective haunted by the apparition of her deceased sister, both pursuing their beliefs.
The released press stills capture the tense vibe surrounding a missing persons case in which a young church member vanishes without a trace. The images highlight Pastor Sung Min Chan (Ryu Jun Yeol), who becomes entangled in the case, Detective Lee Yeon Hee (Shin Hyun Been), who is in charge of the investigation, and ex-convict Kwon Yang Rae (Shin Min Jae).
Sung Min Chan is a pastor who, after receiving a divine revelation, believes that the ex-convict Kwon Yang Rae, who happened to visit the church, is a culprit of the missing person case.
Detective Lee Yeon Hee, tormented by the apparition of her dead sister and unable to escape the guilt from her past, begins investigating the missing person's case. During the investigation, she discovers suspicious circumstances surrounding both Sung Min Chan and Kwon Yang Rae.
The stills capture Lee Yeon Hee scrutinizing the crime scene with a doubtful expression, raising questions about the nature of her guilt regarding her sister and how she might be connected to the case.
One of the stills also shows Kwon Yang Rae, wearing a raincoat, being secretly followed by Sung Min Chan on a rainy night — a scene that heightens curiosity about whether he is truly the prime suspect in the disappearance case.
Shin Min Jae's expression as he embodies the eerie presence of Kwon Yang Rae adds another layer of intrigue.
Director Yeon Sang Ho stated, "The most important aspect of directing Revelations was achieving realism."
Following Hellbound, director Yeon Sang Ho once again collaborates with writer Choi Gyu Seok. The film also benefits from the involvement of Alfonso Cuarón as an executive producer, along with the powerhouse performances of Ryu Jun Yeol, Shin Hyun Been, and Shin Min Jae.
