SBS has confirmed the premiere date of Phantom Lawyer for March 13 and has unveiled a teaser poster.
Phantom Lawyer follows Shin Yi Rang (Yoo Yeon Seok), a lawyer who can see ghosts, and elite attorney Han Na Hyeon (Esom) as they use the law to resolve the grievances of some very special clients.
The text on the poster reads, "We defend the unseen truth," and offers a glimpse of Room 501 of the Okcheon Building — the place where it all starts.
Among the various objects shown are talismans plastered across a wall painted with the twelve zodiac signs, a subtle trail of smoke rising from an incense burner, and a law codebook — something out of place for such a setting.
This is the office that lawyer Shin Yi Rang (Yoo Yeon Seok) happens to obtain by chance, and the starting point from which — after he begins to see ghosts — he is unexpectedly swept up in bizarre cases.
This office used to be a shaman's house. Shin Yi Rang, who settles here, is an ordinary lawyer who wants to make it big by building the best law firm. However, after opening his law office at this new place, he begins to see ghosts, and his life starts heading in an unexpected direction.
He encounters cases that cannot be explained by law and common sense alone, and in the process, as he looks into another side of the truth, he is reborn as a "possessed lawyer" who defends the unseen truth.
The production team stated, "With this teaser poster, we focused on encapsulating the character and vibe of the space — 'Shin Yi Rang Law Office.' As this is a work in which a fantasy premise is naturally layered over the realistic setting of a courtroom, we hope to deliver a different kind of fun to viewers through a story that isn't heavy, but also isn't light. On Friday, March 13, the worldview and story unique to 'Shin Yi Rang Law Office' will unfold. We ask for your interest and anticipation."
