So i have trying to catch up on some of my dramas since my cwl is way too long. Somehow it’s not getting much shorter but here’s what i finished:
boys in love
adorable but kind of lost momentum for me in the third act, because not much crisis. I actually put it aside at this point and came back later. In the end though, I still enjoyed it. I have to say, though, Mick’s acting seemed inadequate to me, and I didn’t feel the chemistry between PodPapang.
i watched the bts feature called “graduation“ on IQIYI and it was very cute. ChokunAston were already my favorites but seeing them flirt bts was a bonus! Aston and those dimples are doing me in! I will still probably watch this again for comfort fluff. Also I will search out that short form show they did as well. But I would probably watch anything with ChokunAston. I look forward to seeing where these young actors go in the future. I gave this an 8.
sweet tooth, good dentist
this was such a disappointment. I love Mark Pakin and he and Ohm Thipakorn are so cute together, I really wanted more for both of them. Their acting was on point but the story and editing got worse as the show progressed. By the last few episodes it was a slog to finish. Poon was still great throughout and I actually liked his/the gl storyline. Jimmy of course is always great. I hope MarkOhm won’t get sidelined because this show wasn’t a success. I’d love to see them in something better. I gave this a 7.
season of love in shimane
i expected nothing from this except spice but it actually had a decent story. The first and last episodes, in particular, were basically tourism ads and not very good. But once P & Plai’s story got going it was more interesting. Plai’s character was an influencer and part of an imaginary ship so he an P weren’t supposed to show affection in public together. This raised some really important questions about how imaginary ships can be toxic or at least difficult for actors or influencers lives. often fans are really hurtful if they try to expose their real lives to the public. This is definitely not fair and even toxic. Some BL actors have left the industry for this reason, like Gulf. The show didn’t really explore this issue fully so that was a bit of a disappointment. Still, it added an interesting story element.
the spice was very spicy for sure, with lots of full nudity and even some speculation about real sex. All four leads were attractive and P & Plai especially were both beautiful and fun to watch. Their scenes also had a real sense of romance and intimacy that was quite beautiful. There are comments in the MDL page saying they are a real couple, which would make sense. It seemed like their acting had leveled way up since season 1.
their was one sex scene where they were promoting PlayStation underwear and they made some pretty cringe jokes. They were also promoting lipstick which at one point Plai put on during sex. This was hot. RX kindly posted a screenshot at the time, of course.
in the end I gave this a 7.5 but i still really enjoyed it, and not only for the spice but the romance as well.
i haven’t finished the ex-morning yet. I like it but don’t find myself rushing to watch it. I also need to finish bangkok boy but I’m kind of scared of the third act/ending so I’ve been putting it off.
@YamaKen, don’t dis us “old people.” We have valuable experience to share! based on Mr. P’s timeline he’s older than me but I married my wife/spouse well past the age most people get married. We have been together for 14 years (married for 12) and are really happy together. We never fight and we tell each other all the time how much we appreciate each other. So don’t any of you young people lose hope. There is great love even after toxic and failed relationships. But my spouse is sometimes jealous of all my BL crushes and fantasies. Relationships take work, for sure.
