Quantcast

So since today’s my birthday, I decided to finally say that I started watching Word of Honor. I used to think 36 episodes was way too much and that I’d probably get bored, like even 12 sometimes feels long to me, so I thought there was no way I’d finish it, but somehow I’m already on episode 18.

Hello Guys,
I ask from you recommendations (for bls for now) again.
It should include (one of) these things:

Specific:

1.Money problems (Ml has money problems and has to work as a cashier or prostitution or just something. Just working and maybe he doesn't like it because it is boring but he could enjoy the job too. [willingly working])

2. Forced "work" (Ml doesn't makes money or I mean he was forced to work [forced prostitution, slave, captured by mafia and has to work for them or else something happens etc.])(Light is the best example I could find to explain forced work but it isn't the best example out there)

3.Abuse (Ml gets physically, mentally, sexually or otherwise abused. That means by family, friends,Strangers. ANYONE.)

Unspecified:

4.Trauma recovery

-5.Noticing your sexuality (homosexual/bisexual)

6.Internalized homophobia

A happy end would be good but other endings are okay too but please write it () or state if it isn't a happy end.

Thanks if anyone could help me. Im curios about these type of dramas right now. Maybe I will have to ask later for some more recs. because I always forget what I wanted to write in the beginning and forget to include some things.

Thanks in advance for your patience and putting up with my constant curiosity.

What are you guys watching right now and do you like sad endings or happy endings more or do you prefer other endings?

Happy birthday! 🎂

@K-Dramafan21

try these. All involve organized crime, forced work, abuse:

The Bangkok Boy (very violent)

The Journey to Killing You

The Rebound

This one is less intense:

Knock Out

also you should really move this up the list. Poverty, coming out:

happy birthday!!!!!!! i hope you're having a great day :DD

i get scared by the long shows too lol, the untamed has been on my watchlist forever

@K-Dramafan21

i have a few that might fit some of your requirements! but take each of these with a grain of salt, my memory is really not the best lol

KinnPorsche - if i remember correctly, porsche is kind of forced to work for kinn and the mafia. and vegas is both abused by his father and abusive towards others. it's not super focused on, but porsche also does kind of have to reckon with his sexuality i think

Love Sea - has a poor male lead and i feel like i remember there being an abusive parent??

Your Name Engraved Herein - grapples a lot with homophobia, i'd say both internalized and not.

Innocent - i think this would count as dealing with trauma? depends on how you define recovery but i remember feeling like the relationship between the two mains was a healing one. i think might also count as dealing with some internalized homophobia? maybe lol

Revenged Love - the main character starts the show struggling with money and doing everything he can to get rich

Moneyboys - the main character works as a prostitute. this one has an open ending

Kidnap - if i remember correctly Q has ptsd or something similar. i'm not sure if he necessarily "recovers" from this but i feel like Min helps him deal with it and heal a bit

I likewise have low expectations but will definitely watch it out of curiousity because it stars Changmin and Changyu, two of the contestants  from "His Man" S1.

Oh really! I didn't realize. I watched eps 1-3 today as a break from work, and realized I started this series already. I watched EP 1 when it came up on YT but I didn't remember. Anyways, yeah it's nothing to get excited about.

I'm pretty sure I watched His Man S1 but I don't remember the guys. It's too long ago for my pea brain to recall.

Happy birthday! 🎂 🥳

I watch long dramas quite a bit (including The Untamed) but for sure they test my patience and  attention. I haven't seen Word of Honor but I would sure love to know what you think of it when you're done!  It might help me get off the fence, lol.

Has No Regret been mentioned?  Oh, it's a movie though and not like a BL story either. I watched it some time ago and it was dark! I don't think I can watch it again, but I think  it has lots of stuff you're looking for.  4 things all in one go! "money, forced work and abuse" and even a positive ending

ETA:  I forgot to say I feel it's underrated. I gave it a 9/10, I think cuz I really liked the love story part of it.

 Indie Art Girl:
yeah it's a production about their Dominate tour and more. Lots of bts and stuff. U can check Cinemark and Fandango for tickets in ur area....if there are any left since I think it starts on the 6th and goes through the 11th in some areas. At some IMAX theatres too!

I'm just wait for it to release so I can watch it at home

Soooo I just checked out Buddy Boys Project by Star Hunter on YT.  It's only 6 eps and still airing.  Two things stood out right away - Bad english subs and the pace is fast (and the camera) I think I've got whiplash. Pretty sure it's low budget and almost no marketing action. I stopped watching after about 8-10 mins.

I think most of the cast from Flirt Milk are there.

On the plus side I got another title off my Watch Later list on YT and really fast too. 🤣

those sound like toxic bl which i'm trying to slowly tick off one at a time lol

 K-Dramafan21:

Is he gay or how does "His man" work.

Is it scripted or real?

His Man is not scripted, its a genuine bl dating show - Junseong and Seongho, and  Dai and Shun are both examples of couples that are still together.
