Well, I think we're familiar with Chil Bong's name by now. It's Kim....Joon and I know about the Korean way of naming their male children so everything is understood.
By now, have you gave up hope yet?

Lol I made that post 5 days ago and the post after the asterisks wasn't really directed to you but to everybody reading the thread esp for those who still harbor the thought that Chilbong is still in the running as Na Jeong's hubby. Also, I have already made it clear last week that even though Sseuregi will be the endgame, I can't push myself to ship them hence the 'I will go down with this ship' and 'I regret nothing' gifs.

I think I share most of the viewers' displeasure at Ep 13 where it dragged and had a lot of fillers that the ep can do without. It felt ridiculously long while in the end it only took 5 minutes to show how Trash finally made his move. I find myself wishing the PD-nim won't hurt the viewers like this. Throwing out an empty innuendo like 'It ain't over 'til it's over' when it's so clear that he's in for a big blow just makes me cringe at the heartache. That is why I'm continuously making a constant reminder for those who root for Chilbongie--if I can't persuade them to stop expecting, then guys brace yourselves for the heartbreak. While I'm psyching you guys, I'm psyching myself up as well. :P

He said that he only cared about Baseball at that time but now, he can have other things to care about since he's a mature man. Also, I believe he can be too old to play Baseball. Anyway, I don't think it means that he stopped playing Baseball or that he got injured.

Same here. It only implies he has more things to do now not only baseball. And even though he's 40, he can still play or he might even be a baseball coach for all we know.

I totally agree with you on that, although I am so glad that I am neutral who don't ship any team but I really find it wrong to give people hope and a dream that can never come true. It's so clear that they're using Chil Bong as the second male lead to make Trash recongnize his feelings for Na Jung then he will be thrown away; if they showed a little affection from Na Jung's side to Chil Bong then I would've believed it even a little but she was so in love with her oppa to notice him.

The bottom of line is, I hope that the producers and the writers will come up with a result that will satisfy both parties and won't cause much damage to viewers' feelings. Once again, I am so glad that I don't belong to any team :D

@CheerfulSoul--LOL at that gif! I agree. Even though I am a shipper, I do think the friendships are the most important part of the show; in fact, as much as I like Chilbong, he's not even my favorite male character. Samcheonpo is my favorite because I identify with his awkwardness. When I started college, I moved from the city to the country. It was a huge adjustment, and often my city ways were thought to be weird. I also was very socially awkward, and I had to deal with roommates that didn't get me at all. Sometimes when I see SCP and Haitai, I think of how I wished that time would have gone. Plus, SCP is just hilarious. His "chilcheonpo" joke slayed me.

Good for you. Although I'm a shipper, I don't feel that bitter (hey it rhymes! LOL) because the PD-nims used the same tactic in Reply 1997, and I had a similar experience with another drama *cough*Coffee House*cough*. And that is what I feel as well. Lol-ing at that gif!

@yankumicho -- I reviewed the past episodes and found that all Sam Cheon Po scenes were still as funny as hell. I still can't get over the Chilcheonpo too! XD XD But I laughed so hard when he kept on hitting Haitai for interrupting him while he was talking to Dong Il ahjusshi. Haitai was asking him to pass the salt and everything! XD They had great comedic timing, those two LOL

My fave character is SCP's roomie, Haitai. Had a few close male friends in college, and they were there to give advice, be my drinking buddies and share friendly no-malice skinship with.
I'm not really content with Reply 1994 in these few episodes. If they weren't going to make Chilbong end up with the girl, then they could've at least given him a story. I thought they'd elaborate more about his mother, but I guess they forgot about that. Also, writers, please don't come up with a consolation prize for Chilbong. I'm talking about that manager girl. And I also hope that they don't turn him into a sulky, second lead, because I don't want to hate him. Najung also didn't have a story. I don't know if I'm the only one that thinks like this, but I feel that all she's about is loving Trash. And mentioning Trash, I'm a bit thrown off about how easy NJ and him got together. He was all struggling about his feelings for her and then out of the blue he's giggling with his brother and kissing NJ. I also feel that this relationship is too incestuous, and it followed 1997's path, which was something I hoped did not happen. Nevertheless, I do enjoy SCP and Yoonjin (the girl Dohee plays, I never get her name right, not sure if I got it right this time). Also, some other events are quite entertaining. And I can ignore the flaws (for me) that I pointed out. But I hope the drama doesn't go downhill in these last few episodes.

I wish I had male friends like those two when I was away at college, but I went to a religious school where drinking and skinship were considered evil. I did have a friend like this in high school, but he no longer speaks to me. I have someone like that now, though, and he cracks me up.

Does anyone feel like we haven't talked about Binggeure in a few episodes? I'm kind of hoping that we get some more puppy in the next few episodes. I knowit's not a hard role, but I think that Baro is playing him well.

I think they gave Chilbong a story--they were two rather small ones. It's his baseball background (but this story instead of going on a flashback and showing how hard he worked, came out of the *dropping-the-net-on-foot incident* in the last episode) and the mother-and-son story which was reduced to a single phone call (to a beeper) while Il Hwa ahjumma and Binggrae talking about CB and his mom's odd relationship. Overall the PD-nims didn't focus on his story unlike SCP in the beginning and when they went to his hometown, Yoonjin and her mom (oh gawd, when she started to do sign language, tears just rolled down), or Binggrae, his LoA from med school and his brother.

Those in bold, I had the same realization too. When I took a few steps back to look at how the story ran from the beginning, the accumulation of what she did from the start were all about getting her oppa. I want Chilbong to have his happy ending though. I don't want him to sulk either and I think he deserves to have the best girl not a 'consolation'.(okay girls, line up! LOL).

Ah I know the feeling. I went to a conservative all-girls religious high school and the nuns were quite strict. Imagine my culture shock I went to a co-ed public university in a faraway city! :D

Baro is good as Binggrae. He's timid, he wants to find out what he wants to do in his life and I think if he becomes another JoonHee, I won't be happy. He needs a resolution now that the main pair's story is drawing to a close. Thinking about the next episodes though, I feel like they're going to stuff them with fillers again--ugh. What else is there to expect...
I'm starting to feel quite frustrated with this drama, I just don't buy NJ + Trash as a couple. I can see how she might have a crush on him, and he might have some feelings for her, but I think in the end this relationship would just feel too awkward for either of them to want to take it any further. In 1997 I didn't like the way the writers tried to make us believe the older brother would suddenly fancy the much younger sister, despite being engaged to her older sister (sorry I can't remember names now). That was just stupid, and I think we all felt like he was never a serious contender anyway. But with 1994 they seem to really be pushing this completely unbelievable relationship, and now it's becoming very annoying. I am hoping that the relationship between NJ and Trash won't work out and she will wake up and realise Chilbong is awesome, but I feel like there isn't much time left to explore this :( If she does stay with Trash this drama will be boring and formulaic. Having her get with Chilbong at the end would be so much more romantic and exciting to watch. Aside from the main love triangle stuff, I am hoping the other characters will get a bit more screen time. I totally love Haitai <3

Absolutely. I mean, there has been a theory about that, particularly in light of the fact that R1994 has already established a metanarrative with R1997 in Trash's classmate. No one saw who got out of the red car to see JoonHee. When I was still for Trash and Binggraeto be together, I thought it could be either of them, but the more I think about it, I like Binggrae with JoonHee if the show plays it that way. Plus, I'd kind of like to see JoonHee get jealous of Trash's closeness with Binggrae.

To the further above comment, I agree. If Trash is endgame (I'm pretty much resigned to it now, le sigh), then Chilbong shouldn't get a 'consolation.' It would be unfair to him when he's been such a good guy throughout the series.

However, unlike others, I really like baseball girl. Some people have said that she's bad because slapped Bongie's butt in that one scene, but clearly they haven't seen a baseball game. If she considers herself "one of the guys" (which as a sort of manager/trainer role, she kind of is), then the butt-slapping would not be out of place. I can't really fault her anyway because YYS's bum looks GOOD in baseball pants. Plus, I've seen much more skinship between ballplayers than that. lol.

Sorry I cut your post dear. I wanted to say formulaic is the apt term. Up until the 11th episode, R94 felt so much better than R97. But the latter episodes felt draggy that I'm not so sure anymore.

And since you and I love Haitai :

Says it like a boss. LOL

Let me sigh with you! ~~siiiiiighhhh~~ Hahaha! My goodness, a tie up metanarrative with Reply 1997 would be great! I hear Episode 16 is entitled 'Reply 1997', I hope the whole gang from season 1 make their cameos in one episode. It would be epic! And a *JoonHee-Binggrae* closure would be nice to see as well! That would be satisfying for me!

Geurom! Who'd pass up an opportunity to give YYS a butt-slap! I envy the girl! And his bum is not the only thing that looks good. Whew, this man is hawt! Okay, I will stop now before I turn into my ahjumma stalker mode LOL!

And because you like SCP:

I love SCP's affronted look at Na Jeong but his smile at Yoo Jin. I love those two anyway.

That gif of YYS is perfect. And you're right, YYS is hot! For me, it's hard to believe he's my oppa by three years. I hope I look that good at 29.

I know, right! He's such a baby face! I can't believe he's older than Song Joong Ki and Lee Seung Gi! I also can't believe that Go Ah Ra was born in 1990! She looks ten years older than her age in R94!

lol at those two gif's!

I just read a spoiler that =Na Jung is still in love with Trash in ep 17= so now I am well assured and happy about the drama's outcome ^^
