I make it a point to visit there because fans R94 regularly post filming updates and text synopses for upcoming episodes and the addict that I am can't help devour those type of spoilers. But before I even got to one-fourth of the whole thing just to get my spoilers, I gave up reading through the thread because I had to go through a lot of spazz, debates and comments--which was fine because it was healthy for a certain time--until the debates became personal and the comments got hurtful.
It's true MDL is a growing site that's steadily building presence online however being on here is like a sanctuary for me. Yanki was just pointing out observation and I think her comment was not out of place because we read comments like that on viki, DF, and other sites like soompi. Some thoughts actually coincide here and on soompi and even dramabeans (particularly on character development) and I think it's okay as long as we stay cool about it. ;) Hell yeah, so proud of us!
Add: The shipping wars have also reached the comments section of dramabeans and it was so enormous that javabeans addressed the issue in Ep 15 recap. And she was like ' hey you guuuuuuuuuuys! seriously! don't fight!' XD
I was glad that javabeans tried to squash that quickly because other than MDL, I find dramabeans to be for the most part, civil. I love the recaps, but sometimes I have to avoid that comments section because I don't want to get involved with the fanwars.
As to why I posted my comment: I posted the comment because there were an overwhelming amount of viki comments which stated things like what I posted above, and I felt it pertinent to the conversation we were having about why the fanwar has become irritating, both on the front of the drama and the front of how we as drama watchers respond to one another. It's been said more than once around this drama's fandom that the "who's the hubby" mystery has brought out the worst of our human personalities at times. I agree with that; I've had to check myself a couple of times from saying things that could be personal.
I will admit, though, that part of that comment was personal: not to the people on here, but as a venting of frustration to what it seems are those who believe that one's ambition is tied inherently to one's future job title. I apologize if anyone felt offended by that because it was not my intention. I'm also very proud that our community tries its hardest to stay out of it. Personally, this has been one of my favorite forum threads because of how much discussion we have. :)
