Triple C
Welcome to the dumps of costume C-dramas!
Triple C stands for 'Compilation of Costume C-dramas'
I'm just creating this list to keep track of what I've watched and plan to watch throughout the years. Most of them are xianxia and wuxia, since those are my favorite genres. Feel free to use it as a guide in case you want to start watching but have no idea of which and where to start, *wink wink*. Note: The ratings are based off my first impression ratings that I wrote down on my note app after watching. Some of the dramas I watched years ago—I may not remember the storyline, but the first impression ratings won't lie. Please be aware that some comments contain a tiny amount of spoilers.
Note: My comments/reviews are usually biased; I would rate it according to my liking. You might not find stuff I wrote reasonable or rational because it's mostly emotionally based.

1. Feud
Chinese Drama - 2025, 32 episodes
COMPLETED
I have too many things to say that idk where to start. THIS IS ANOTHER MASTERPIECE! I've never watched any drama that would talk about relationships this deep. I love the analogy of the deity-human thing with the real society of powerful and powerless people. I love that every pain makes up each character's development and that there is always a cause to a decision. Bailu's acting is insanely good; she made me believe every pain and suffering Ruyue was going through. At the end of the day, love and communication are the main concepts of the whole drama, whether it's self-love, selfless love, selfish love, or conditional & unconditional love. Any relationship would only work if there is communication; small things like 'please talk to me what you're going through; we're in this together' could save the whole relationship and heartbreak. Another thing I've learned from this is that time doesn't wait. Time will always flow the way it flows; it doesn't give us a second chance to change what we've done, so do not leave any regrets.

2. Moonlight Mystique
Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
omgg! I don't know how to describe this. There wasn't a single boring episode; everything was just perfect. I love how they link the plot together like puzzle pieces. Like, how did you do that? Kudos to the author and the scriptwriters; they did an excellent job. There was almost nothing to be criticized. Bailu and Ruipeng's chemistry is overflowing; they're too good at their job. I've been watching a lot of xianxia, and I can proudly say that Bailu is the queen of xianxia dramas; she nailed the role of Bai Shuo. Ruipeng as Fanyue is just perfect; you know they're a good actor when you completely forget how they are in real life. They made me believe that their characters are real and that they're really that character. I love that they didn't leave even a single character out in the drama; everyone has their backstory, and it connects with the main plot so well. This is probably the only drama in which I can't really call a villain "a villain." I love this drama a lot to the point that I would tell you, "Please make sure you watch this once-in-a-lifetime."

3. The Legend of Shen Li
Chinese Drama - 2024, 39 episodes
COMPLETED
A MASTERPIECE INDEED! omg, idk where to start, but this has again set my standard higher. The chemistry of the actors is insane. I laughed one second and then cried again the next. The CGI work was brilliant. I watched this drama with already high expectations due to the high number of recommendations, but it has set my bar even higher. This is so underrated; I want more people to know about this. This drama isn't talked about enough! The first ever drama that makes the female lead not look dumb for falling in love first; she fell for him, but she has her own dignity and will never let him abuse that. Omg, the woman Shen Li is! If you love a strong, independent woman being a badass even after falling in love, you should watch this. Actually, no, you should really love this; you'll love every character. YOU SHOULD NEVER MISS THIS!

4. When Destiny Brings the Demon
Chinese Drama - 2025, 33 episodes
COMPLETED
I have post-drama syndrome after finishing this! I don't usually have it unless the drama is really good. It was short, but the storyline flowed so well, at the right pace and with the right amount of information for us to grasp. Sima Jiao left a huge impression and raised my standard in male leads. Like, omgggg, bro, you're so smart! The storyline might seem plain, but there's more to it once you start watching. I usually skip a lot in the dramas I've watched, but this one got me so hooked that I didn't dare to skip; only a few dramas could do this to me. I love this so much! If you're looking for something not as complicated and addictive, watch this; you won't be disappointed.
-
5. Fangs of Fortune
Chinese Drama - 2024, 34 episodes
COMPLETED
If this isn't the most unserious yet serious drama I've ever watched, then idk what is lol. Their friendship was just too pure. It's as if there were barely any romance, but they really pulled the plot off so well. There were actually some boring episodes that I skipped, but istg, despite the times I skipped, it didn't disturb my whole understanding of the plot at all. This drama indeed has a deep lesson hidden in it: "We can't choose our origin, but we can choose how to live our life." This will forever be engraved in my heart. Oh, and what surprised me the most was the acting of the 13-year-old boy. Idk his name, but he portrayed his characters so well; I was amazed. This drama was recommended a lot by people around me; at first I was expecting something more of a romance type, but after diving into it, I realized that the bond that they all share between each other is even more special than any romance plot could ever give. They are all smart as well; they always planned things ahead, and I love that. I also love the humor in this drama; they can crack a joke whenever they feel like it lol, they're so unserious.
-
6. Ashes of Love
Chinese Drama - 2018, 63 episodes
COMPLETED
This one had the most effect on me. I was stuck for so long and couldn't get out; even my 8-year-old brother cried watching this. The love-hate relationship was so deep, I never cried for any other drama like this one. It's also the first time I've seen Luo Yunxi in a drama too; he was dazzling. Until today, this drama still is in my recommendation list if you asked me for recommendations.
-
7. Ancient Love Poetry
Chinese Drama - 2021, 49 episodes
COMPLETED
This was beautifully made! The CGI was just perfect. I think this drama was the first one to break through the CGI standards, and since then I've seen better CGI in xianxia dramas. ALP set the bar so high, I even heard that the female lead is the highest-paid actress in the industry and that she only accepts one drama in 4 years. It is so impressive; kudos to the casting team! Believe me, this drama is time worthy.
-
8. Eternal Love
Chinese Drama - 2017, 58 episodes
COMPLETED
This was so good, I watched it thrice, I think. I bawled my eyes out for this one. Yang Mi is such a good actress; not only is she good, she's excellent at her job. I love the plot and everything about this. I was so invested in Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Dijun's side story too; they are so cute together. I love every character in this drama, and it's also the first-ever xianxia drama for me. Not only was it my first xianxia drama, but I think it was even my first ever Chinese drama. I really would do anything to erase my memories of this and watch it for the first time again. That's how much I love this drama.
-
9. The Destiny of White Snake
Chinese Drama - 2018, 61 episodes
COMPLETED
The storyline was so-so, but the OST was so good I still listen and sing along to it to this day. I'm not sure if the drama has a remake, but I've seen one with the same title, and I haven't watched it yet. However, this version is also not bad; I cried watching it too. I rated it a 7/10, but unfortunately, I can't seem to remember what went wrong for it to get this rating from me. It probably was the ending or could be the plot. Nonetheless, it's worth a watch.
-
10. Noble Aspirations
Chinese Drama - 2016, 58 episodes
COMPLETED
I watched this years ago, so I kinda forgot the storyline, but the rating I noted down was the first impression after watching it, so it won't lie. To be able to get a 6/10 from me, it must not be awful. However, again, it's based on my opinion of the production or the plot. This drama was pointlessly long; it's unnecessary to have this many episodes. Sometimes the plot of this drama could appear to be great for you but not for me. In case that happens, you can try; it probably wasn't my type but could be yours.
-
11. Noble Aspirations Season 2
Chinese Drama - 2016, 18 episodes
COMPLETED
Although I don't remember much, I remember questioning the existence of this season, and therefore I didn't continue the 3rd season. Just like what I mentioned in the first season review, this drama was hella long and pointless. I'm pretty generous for giving it a 6 instead of a barely 5. I gave this drama a 6 for the effort because in order to create a wuxia drama, it wasn't at all easy.
-
12. The Journey of Flower
Chinese Drama - 2015, 58 episodes
COMPLETED
This one was so-so, the typical teacher-student relationship trope. The actors were so good in portraying their roles. I was in grade 9 or 10, I think, when I first watched this, and I cried my eyes out. Looking back, I really loved this trope. I'm not so sure why I gave it a 7.5, but I guess I had a reason. I don't remember most of the plot, but I do remember it having some kind of an impact on me. So far, this drama has been one of the best teacher-relationship tropes for me. It was worth it to try if you like this trope too.
-
13. Love and Destiny
Chinese Drama - 2019, 60 episodes
COMPLETED
I remember so little about this drama that I had to search it up again. It gave out the vibe of The Journey of Flower; I remember only watching it because it was kind of the spin-off of Eternal Love, although I can't see the sequence or relevance. It was another teacher-student trope that I was so into at that time. It wasn't awful; it just didn't get much attention because most people thought the male lead wasn't attractive. I watched it regardless lol because I don't care; only the acting matters, and I think he nailed it. You can have a try; don't let others' opinions stop you.
-
14. Eternal Love of Dream
Chinese Drama - 2020, 56 episodes
COMPLETED
I waited years for this to come out, and it was worth the wait. It's a spin-off from Eternal Love. I love the couple so much. It's just that it wasn't up to my expectation; it wasn't as good as Eternal Love was, but compared to some other xianxia dramas, this was the standard. Their love story is just painfully beautiful. I love Bai Feng Jiu; her love for Dong Hua was just limitless. I would love it more if it had more stuff related to Eternal Love, but it was already okay the way it was. It was worth the wait and worth the watch.
-
15. Love and Redemption
Chinese Drama - 2020, 59 episodes
COMPLETED
I remember this being so painful to watch but also very worth it. Get your tissues ready! There will be much angst and heartbreak. Istg, this should be recommended everywhere and on every platform. You must have seen this everywhere on TikTok and recommendation lists, and trust me, IT'S THAT GOOD! I watched it without showering for 2 days lol. It still stands strong even with the standard of dramas nowadays. Please go watch this if you haven't already; it's a once-in-a-lifetime kinda thing.
-
16. Immortal Samsara: Part 1
Chinese Drama - 2022, 38 episodes
COMPLETED
This was super good! I enjoyed it a lot, though I forgot most of the plot lol. Actually, I forgot everything; I had to go on TikTok to search for it in case it rang a bell, and to my surprise, I remember some parts. That's how I know I finished it. The only thing I'll never understand is why they divided it into 2 parts, but I'm going to just conclude both parts here. It might be too long for nowadays standards, but it's worth every minute. The show went on smoothly, but with so much angst, the ending made it all worth it; just make sure you finish all 61 eps, not 59.
-
17. Love Between Fairy and Devil
Chinese Drama - 2022, 36 episodes
COMPLETED
My rating for this is gonna be pretty controversial lol because everyone seems to love this. This was good but didn't get me addicted; I dropped it once and picked it up again. I feel like it's a bit overrated, though I love Esther and Dylan's acting. I tried to think like others, but I can't seem to understand why this was such a hype. I didn't feel the same hype for this as others. Maybe it's just not my genre or type, probably. This drama is loved by most people, so maybe you can also have a try and see. You'll never know unless you really try it; it could be something you'd like.
-
18. Beauty of Resilience
Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes
COMPLETED
I dropped this twice but picked it up, and it was good. I don't remember much of this drama. I dropped it twice because I couldn't bring myself to finish it at first. I only know that I watched this because it was widely recommended; it was such a hype back then, but I can't seem to understand that fact. The fact that I gave it an 8 after finishing it also shows that it's good enough for me; it just wasn't as addicting as other dramas. You can give this a try; it's good according to my rating.
-
19. Song of the Moon
Chinese Drama - 2022, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
I remember nothing about this. My mind's totally blank for this lol, but it's probably an average one, not bad but also not that good. I can't seem to have many comments on this since it doesn't appear in my mind at all except for the fact that I finished it. Please give it a try, and sorry for not being able to give an opinion on this drama. I have bad memories lol.
-
20. Till the End of the Moon
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
This was damn good! One of my top tiers, this one still lingers the way Ashes of Love did to me. It wasn't as sad as it is said to be, but it really did convey the hatred and love of the characters perfectly. I get why this is most people's all-time favorite drama. Everything in this drama fits perfectly with Leo and Bailu, like I can't think of others that would convey Tantaijin and Lisusu's love-hate relationship better than those two. I really recommend this! A bit too many misunderstandings, but worth it after all.
-
21. The Journey of Chong Zi
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
I just finished this, and it was so-so; I think it's even a bit too overrated. Another teacher-student relationship. Watching this just felt like I was going in a loop.
Spoiler: You must have a lot of patience to finish this because some characters are just annoying. The happy ending was worth it!
-
22. Back from the Brink
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
I'm writing this as soon as I finished it. It was sooo good; idk why I keep on seeing comments complaining about the plot. To me, this drama teaches us a lot about life, "good and evil". This was beautifully written for me; it's a blend of many flavors: sadness, happiness, and fun. Highly recommended. I think this is the best one so far of my watchings in 2025.
Note: I lost counts of how many times I screamed "so cuteee" throughout the whole thing.
-
23. The Longest Promise
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
Tbh, I lost count of how many times I skipped. However, regardless of the ten thousand skips I did, I found it quite fun to watch; it just wasn't really my cup of tea. The storyline was beautifully written, especially the characters; they are so human. Xiao Zhan's acting is top tier; I've never watched nor followed him before, but this one got me falling deep for him. Despite skipping a lot, the storyline is simple enough for me to grasp the whole picture of what is going on; excellent acting and plot! What I love most about this were the relationships; it made the character look lively and human.
-
24. Love of the Divine Tree
Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
I saw a lot of recommendations on this, so I jumped into it, and it was really up to expectation. The graphic was excellent, as was the acting. However, the most notable things were the plot and the OST; it was like heaven, omg. The plot can seem to be pretty simple at the beginning, but when you really get into it, it will get even more interesting. I love that every character has their own pain and backstory, even the villain. This might be a rare comment, but I love the love story between Wei Jiu and Tu Jiuyuan. Their story is so beautiful; one is a hard-mouthed person, and another would do anything in their power to protect their loved ones. Trust me, this drama won't disappoint you, and there will be no boring episodes.
-
25. The Starry Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
I love this so much! It brought me both laughter and tears. I love that it isn't just a romantic drama but also emphasizes the relationship of the family members. The love-hate relationship between the members is the beauty of it. I love everything about it—the pain, the sorrow, the happiness. The ending is wrapped up so well; I love it, although it could have been a bit better, but this is okay. Don't miss this!
-
26. Love Game in Eastern Fantasy
Chinese Drama - 2024, 32 episodes
COMPLETED
This drama was short yet impactful. A lot of things happened in those short episodes and even gave out mixed feelings. It was very funny at first and then gradually got more serious and emotional at the end of the drama. I don't see why people dislike Esther's acting; I think she's very talented. She acts and conveys the character's feelings so well. She made her character as funny as it was supposed to be and yet made me super sad when needed. This was a good drama, overall, a good stress reliever.
Spoiler: It has a very good ending if you can interpret it well, but if you can't, then it'll become just a normal ending.
-
27. Love in the Clouds
Chinese Drama - 2025, 36 episodes
COMPLETED
I waited so long for this drama, and finally it's out! It didn't disappoint me at all; it's such a good stress-relieving drama, although it's filled with betrayals between the main leads, Jibozai, the shameless male lead, and Ming Yi, our shameless female lead. Both of them are so shameless and so funny. It started off really well and kept going at the perfect pace. As the story runs, the tension grows, and when I say tension, I don't mean the fighting or misunderstandings but the iykyk type of tension. The sad scenes were so sad that I cried and my heart ached, the funny scenes were so funny that I cried out of laughter, the friendships were beautiful, but the bitterness was also so bitter. It ended, and I'll miss the characters. They hold a very special place in my heart; every character is so precious. They have their own story and the reason for their every action, and I love that there are no toxic characters. Those who are obsessed with love are obsessed but not the type to hurt others when they're obsessed, and I love it. This drama really lives up to its fame; it was worth the wait. I'll never complain about Chinese dramas having so many episodes again; please give them 100+ extra episodes. I would give it a 1000/10 if I could even do it.
-
28. Love You Seven Times
Chinese Drama - 2023, 38 episodes
I've never seen any drama that would transform the main lead into a boar, lol; this is the first one. However, tbh, I'm quite disappointed with the drama; the whole plot was too cliché for me. I think I've seen this plot since forever in the xianxia genre. In addition, I'm not a fan of the timid version of the female lead in their second life, not that she's annoying, but it's more like she's so disrespectful. I started to feel annoyed in their second life when she literally caused the male lead to be in danger, and she still showed no remorse—so unmannerly. However, I have noticed an improvement in the character in the later episodes. I think my favourite life of them is the sixth one, but the most interesting one would be the fourth one for me. I used to watch Chaoyue's acting as Chong Zi; I used to think that it was her acting that made her character so annoying, but now that I watch this, I realise that it's not the actress's fault; it's the script. She can also appear mature, and she performs exceptionally well in both roles. Overall, this is a good drama if you don't mind the overused plot; it's pretty addictive and keeps you wondering what they will be in their next life. It's worth a try.
-
29. The Last Immortal
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
This is literally full of misunderstanding. I watched it because it was recommended a lot in the xianxia category. I didn't know it's a sequel to Ancient Love Poetry. The CGI is superb, but the plot of this drama is not as outstanding as that of Ancient Love Poetry. Although some characters show development, they remain gullible for no apparent reason, leading to misunderstandings that could be resolved through better communication. The ML is kind of useless, in my opinion; he's a true god but can't do anything at all. The scene in which he appears to be deserving of the 'true god' title is very rare. However, it also shows that sometimes even a powerful person can be powerless when it comes to certain things, and we humans are just powerless creatures that strive to survive in this cruel world. Despite all these shortcomings, the drama is still enjoyable; it just feels like it's overrated. It's been everywhere around, almost in every xianxia recommendation. I love that the characters are gullible but smart enough to catch the culprit. Overall, I'd say it's worth a try; it's a decent length too—40 eps isn't so short nor too long.
-
30. Love Never Fails
Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
I don't wanna discredit the hard work of the production team; I know they all worked hard to produce this, but the shabby edits in the few episodes at the beginning made the first impression not so good. The sad scene was supposed to be sad, but it's not as sad anymore when you keep spotting the flaws. The edits in the mid-episodes are good tho, even better than some other dramas. The plot is so-so, more of a cliché with nothing new. One good thing about this drama is the male lead. I've never followed him, but I'm sure I've seen him a lot, and he's excellent at conveying the character's feelings. The show also has many flavors in it that make it entertaining and not boring. The characters and their development are excellent; it's like you're seeing them growing up. I wouldn't say the drama is awful, but for a 2025 standard, it's too simple, especially with better competitors. If it was released 3-4 years ago, I reckon it would be a big hit. Maybe it was supposed to be released years ago but wasn't. Overall, it wasn't so bad; it's worth a try.
Edit: I did some research, and yes, it really was supposed to be released years ago, but there were some issues with the female lead, so they had to reshoot and do AI cuts in some scenes instead. Considering all the issues they went through, the final product came out so well then.

-
32. The Blossoming Love
Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes
-
33. Moonlit Reunion
Chinese Drama - 2025, 38 episodes
COMPLETED
Everything was perfect: the CGI, the acting, the costume, the makeup, etc. I really want to praise the casting team for this flawless casting because Tian Xiwei really does look like a kitten; she's incredibly adorable. The costumes, hairstyles, and makeup even complement her. The plot was well written; it wasn't boring at all. I'd say this is one of the best in 2025. This is probably my second time watching Xu Kai's acting, and as expected, he didn't disappoint. If there was one thing I felt this drama lacked, it was that I feel like everything was rushed in the last 4-5 episodes. It felt as if too much information was fed. The plot twist was indeed surprising, but I found it difficult to process; it felt somewhat overwhelming. However, this drama is still worth watching; I'd recommend this, but I'm not sure I'd rewatch it.

Chinese Drama - 2025, 38 episodes
COMPLETED
I expected nothing at all, but damn, no words could describe how amazing this drama is. I would give it a 100000/10 if I could. I don't know about others, but I'm definitely the target audience of this drama. I have always loved watching detective drama vibes, and it fits perfectly. What I love most about this drama is that it blends romance and mystery together so well. Yan Chi is really the whole forest; he made 'love at first sight' come to life. Shen Wan, our female lead, is also clever, and it made the whole drama even more interesting. I think the main purpose of this drama is also to shout out for gender equality. I love how this is portrayed in the drama, such as the weight of being a crowned prince or a prince, the weight of a throne, or even the expectations for being a princess or a woman. These are portrayed so well; every gender really suffers from carrying the expectation of their gender roles and the social norms. The whole drama was really good, the kind of good that you'll never see yourself skip even a second because that's what happened to me.

COMPLETED
One of the best in 2025 indeed! I usually don't like watching wuxia without any fantasy elements, but this is different. This drama is full of betrayal yet filled with love. I was so invested in the second lead love story; they delivered it so well, and it was so unexpected. It's just like the saying "love comes unexpectedly." The enemy-to-lover trope of this drama is just perfect; they really went from wanting to kill each other every second to "If you died, I'll follow." It's so rare to find a real enemy-to-lover vibe these days, like they're not just quarreling but are really sworn enemies. The romantic scenes are neither more nor less, at just the right amount. I love that the sad scenes in this drama really built up our emotion so well; we can really see their pain and suffering. There are no misunderstandings between them; they're so smart, and they trust each other so much that I cried in awe. If you like the real enemy-to-lover vibe, try this drama, and it won't disappoint you.
-
49. A Dream within a Dream
Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes
COMPLETED
It started off so well, but I found it quite boring midway, and then again, it ended so well. I didn't pay enough attention to the politics parts, the throne fighting and stuff; you can find better of those in other dramas. However, as per transmigration, this probably is the best one you could ever find. It ended just as well as it started off. I love the message the drama wanted to convey, and I love the way they really make use of every character like the plot wanted to convey. Every character has their own story, just like the saying 'you're the main lead of your own story', and I love that part about this drama the most. Watch it, and trust me, this will be the best transmigration drama ever.
-
50. Story of Kunning Palace
Chinese Drama - 2023, 38 episodes
COMPLETED
I didn't like it much, so I skipped a lot. This is probably the only drama that I skipped so much. I only found it interesting from episodes 34-35 onwards. I gave it a 6 for the effort the actors put in. The director's work was sloppy; it was awful. The scriptwriter could have done a better job too; I feel like it lacked a lot. It was supposed to be political, but at the same time, the political aspects weren't that impressive; the only thing that stood out was the dark romance. However, just because dark romance stood out doesn't mean it was good too. Before watching, I was informed that it would be a slow burn; I just didn't think it was this slow lol. It's so slow that I want to give up. The female lead was so obsessed with the person she liked for more than half of the drama. I lost interest in it; I just wanted to finish and didn't care about the plot no more.

This drama wasn't even on my list because action and political drama aren't really my things, but it really proved me wrong. The plot was so engaging; even the way they fight has the art of martial arts in it. I didn't dare skip even a second. This drama really lives up to its name. I've been seeing this drama on the top of every recommendation list. At first I thought Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei gave out entirely different vibes; they probably won't have good chemistry, but it turned out the chemistry was even better than what I expected. This really is my first time watching Cheng Lei act, and tbh, he's so good at using his eyes to convey feelings, and not everyone can do that. The cinematic aspects were distributed so well into this drama that they blend in. The drama reminds me of Mulan; I used to watch Mulan years ago with this exact same feeling. A time-worthy drama, indeed!

Not bad for a short xianxia drama; the plot was cliche, but somehow I couldn't stop watching it lol. The characters sometimes made questionable choices, but we can make do with it. I really don't know what hooked me, but I somehow continued until the very end. I was most interested in their second life. The first one somehow appeared to be funny to me. The plot of their first life wasn't that enjoyable. It was short and somehow meaningless. However, the second life was different, with a lot of angst, but the plot was interesting. This was, overall, worth watching.
