The Anti-Drug Crime Trilogy

One of the last large anti drug crime thrillers too until the attempts of 2025, in this case set in South East China and the Golden Triangle around 2011 (around these years China and neighbouring nations stablished a cooperation strataty in real life to fight drugs). 

Good pace, good fighting scenes, very entertaining.  

Set in the 90s in northeast China, at the beginning of the synthetic drugs in the market. Depicts the changes in the police force to adapt to this situation while fighting with a drug cartel. Relationships and crime fight are in equal dosis, good rythm with a riveting ending.

Produced by Zhang Yimou and you can tell.  Zhang Yu is amazing and steals the show.

Based on a real case from 2013 in China that shook the nation like a storm: drug dealers took a village as a base for drug production. 

Excellent large production, star studed cast, the show won awards. They don't do this kind of drama anymore (The Punishment 2 was an attempt by the end of 2025 after almost 4-5 years of drought in the genre).
