My Thriller Selection: Six Variations on Suspense

Fierce social commentary of lower classes, with humanity. Very sad  and very beautiful,  Tight plot. Cast nominated and award winners in acting.

Serial killer. Oppressive and slow, very solid. One of my favourites.

A classic - social commentary of an era and northeast region of China. Difficult to explain, slow burn but you can't stop or let it go.

Not by chance the poster resembles the slide-of-life dramas; it´s also one.

Anti Drug crime drama set in the 90w, at the beginning of the synthetic drugs; one of the best in the topic so far. Produced by Zhang Yimou. Zhang Yu is amazing here.

Case solving related and intertwined with an underlying mystery, focus on forensic and criminal procedures -CSI style. Stylized and tense, addictive pace.

Time loop (so also modern fantasy or sci-fi?), very tight logic, great suspense. The less heavy and gritty of the selection.
