1. His: I Didn't Think I Would Fall in Love
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
This was an amazing series. It had a very good script, wonderful acting, and beautiful cinematography. There is a movie (His) that is supposed to be a sequel, but it has no real link to it. It does use the same main characters’ names and gives silent nods to the series, but that’s it.

2. My Love Mix-Up!
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This was a very cute and funny series. Overall, it had a good script. Although it had a weird beginning, it had a sweet ending. However, the script had a nice mix of comedy, drama, and quirkiness that I’ve grown to love from Japanese series. The cast did a great job with their characters.

3. Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
This was a great series. The storyline was funny and sweet. It also had a wonderful script and great acting. This has two side stories/special episodes (Valentine’s Day/Rokkaku; Tsuge & Minato) and a movie.

4. Old Fashion Cupcake
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
This was a really charming series. The office romance storyline was simple but beautiful to see unfold. This is a great example that a series does not need 10+ episodes to tell a good story. The acting was wonderful.

5. I Cannot Reach You
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
This was also a really cute series. This is another great example you don’t need 10+ episodes with a great script. It had a great cast and beautiful cinematography.

6. Our Dining Table
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
This was a very heartwarming series with an awesome script. The cast was great and did a wonderful job with their characters. This has a special episode (Our Dining Table: Spin-Off Episode).

7. 10 Things I Want to Do before I Turn 40
Japanese Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
This was a very cute series. It was very refreshing that they established both main leads were gay. This script was simple, but very good. It handled some common issues about being gay in a very tactful way. The actors and cinematography were great.

8. A Man Who Defies the World of BL
Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
I’m including “A Man Who Defies the World of BL 2” and “A Man Who Defies the World of BL 2024” with this to make room for other series. The first two season were hilarious and did a wonderful job satirizing the BL genre. The third season was also funny, but the script was not as good as the first two seasons. However, it still did a great job satirizing the BL genre. The actors did an awesome job and liked how they didn’t take their character seriously. It also had great cinematography and graphics. Unfortunately, the fourth season (A Man Who Defies the World of BL Final) was just ok. It’s a good example of when a series should quite when it was ahead. Although it was somewhat cute, the script was really not that funny and missing the whimsy as the previous seasons. I have to say this had a very unsatisfactory ending to the whole series.

9. Living with Him
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
This series was very cute and fluffy. The script was very well written and had a nice even pace. The cast was awesome and did a great job with their characters. The only minor negative aspect for me was it had some shaky camera work at times.

10. Takara's Treasure
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
This was very sweet and cute series. The script was good, but had some weak areas. I loved the pacing of the main characters’ relationship developed. The cast was awesome and did a great job with their characters. The only minor negative aspect for me was there were some sound issues. This has a special episode (Takara’s Treasure Spin Off).
