Top Ten Favorite BL Series from Taiwan

This was a wonderful series that had a great office romance storyline. The script and acting were also great. Random Note: It’s cool this is a remake of the 2013 “Just You” series. If you are watching this on Viki, Episode 13: Epilogue is a side story to the series (Be Loved in House Special).

This was a really good series. I like how they mixed the two most common story concepts (office romance/childhood friends to lovers) together. The script overall was good, but there were a few weak elements. I love the cast which did an excellent job with their characters. I also loved the quest appearances of actors from various BL series throughout the series. If you are watching this on Viki, Episodes 1 - 12 are the actual episodes of the main series and episode 13 is a spin-off/extra episode. Episode 14 and 15 are behind the scenes episodes titled Making 1 and Making 2.

As of now, this is my favorite out of all the HIStory series. This had a very interesting storyline. I love that it’s a crime mystery first and a BL series second. The script was wonderful because it had many twists and turns that kept me guessing without getting confused. The acting, cinematography, and music were awesome.

This series had an interesting story concept, but was a little confusing in some places. However, this was only a minor problem for me. The cast was amazing with their characters.

This was a great series. The script was good, but had some weak aspects. It’s always nice to watch a mature BL series that involved adults that act like adults, well most of the time. I also felt the relationship development between both BL couples had just the right pacing for the number of episodes it had. This is one of the few series that had a realistic portrayal of language barrier/differences between characters (one of the actors/characters is Thai). All of the actors did a great job portraying their characters. The cinematography was great with the exception of the time jumps. The music/songs they used were very good which helped make this series, about the music industry, more believable.

This was also a great series. It had a sweat storyline and well-developed script. The actors did a great job with their characters. It had good cinematography, but the editing of the flash back scenes was not the best. If you watch this on Viki, this is grouped together with HIStory 2: Crossing the Line grouped as HIStory 2.

Another very good series with a well-developed script. The actors did a great job with their characters and it had good cinematography. I was confused at first when I started watching this because the English subtitle on Viki gave the title as “Crossing Boundaries” instead of “Crossing the Line”. However, The main problem on Viki was there were no English subtitles when printed content was shown which did not help with the story progression. If you watch this on Viki, this is grouped together with HIStory 2: Right or Wrong as HIStory 2.

This was such a quick but cute series. The script and editing were good considering this was made during the pandemic. My only complaint is the episodes were too short, even for a series made during the pandemic. The English subtitles were good, but a little confusing in the beginning. The actors were good.

This is a compilation series to Stay by My Side, You Are Mine, and VIP Only. For me, this was the best one out of the them. Although it had some elements that did not make sense, the script was good. The pacing was great and did a decent job introducing the characters’ backstories with one exception. The actors did a great job with their characters and portrayed them very well. This also had very good cinematography, graphics, and music. This has a special episode (Anti Reset Special) that is listed as episode 11 with the title Epilogue on Viki and as episode 11 with the title Anti Reset SP on GagaOOLala.

This is a compilation series to Stay by My Side, You Are Mine, and Anti Reset. This was a very cute and interesting series. Considering the short running time, this had a well-developed script. The actors did a great job with their characters and portrayed them in a very likable fashion. The only negative aspect for me was the conflict scenarios were too predictable. This has a special episode (VIP Only Special) that is listed as episode 11 with the title Epilogue on Viki. As for GagaOOLala, it’s listed as episode 11 with the title VIP Only SP but the episode screen has Spin Off on it.
