In 1975, Auyeung joined ATV, and became the top actress of the station. In the early days, she was widely noticed for her elegant and refined appearance, which was suitable for ancient time and modern times. After recording one of the soundtracks of the TV series "Chat Sai Yan Yun", she signed a contract with the record company as a contract singer. In 1978, she joined TVB and participated in many popular dramas, leaving a deep impression on the audience. In 1984, she and Roman Tam performed 25 shows of "Liu Yi Biography" stage play, and more than 10 performances in USA and Canada. In 1989, she returned to ATV.
After filming the 1994 TV series "Song Sisters" and Jackie Chan's film "Crime Story", Auyeung officially retired from showbiz.
In 1993, she started studying Chinese medicine and became a qigong acupuncturist. In 1994, she opened a qigong class for apprenticeships in Hong Kong.
Auyeung was married to actor Kwok Fung whom she met during the filming of ATV drama "Silent Asking the Sky". During their 40 years of marriage, they had no children of their own but raised an adopted son.
Auyeung suffered a stroke in April 2017 and had to undergo three brain surgeries, and was later found to have a tumour. Sadly, she passed away at the age of 63 in July 2017 due to lung cancer.
