Man, Food Wars was so unique; honestly, I do not think any kdrama or anime will top it where culinary aspects…
It was basically food pron 🤣There's some of it here as well, when people eat food and get all sorts of whimsical CGI backgrounds while basically orgasming from its taste.
It's basically Food Wars, very similar vibes to anime. So much drama over food, lol. Food is the main character here, take it away and there's actually very little going on between ML and FL. Probably gonna bum rush it in the last 2 episodes. My favorite character here is the royal secretary, I liked that actor since Touch Your Heart. He's funny. Also, shout out to Jin Mu actor from AoS who's playing the honest Chinese master chef here, love that guy too. The most boring wastes of space are the dowager and her 3 cronies who are sitting in her room, getting outraged over every little thing. Same goes for the villainess, she's basically sitting and getting outraged over nothing - that's her role. Occasionally she tries some mild attempts to eliminate FL, but those are very timid compared to what bishes like her usually do in saeguks.
It was an okay watch. Honestly, I don’t understand all the hype around the second male lead. He never showed…
Wait, the second male lead is that Kim Hyeon guy? I thought it was that talkative guy who always hanged out with other girls, he got more screen time than that Kim guy. Kim guy's just a side character who was just there for FL to pine for in the beginning, could already see where this drama would go with him from the start. I guess there are fans of Kim guy's actor here. Personally, I saw that face and immediately remembered him playing a nasty bully in Study Group and bully's side kick in Brave Citizen, now this actor is ruined for me, lol, he's got a bully face.
It’s interesting and technically not bad but it’s really bothering me who the ml is. They’re making him…
Yea, I've read about that king, he was a real piece of work. Not sure rewriting some history would work here, they'd need to start from scratch with that character, lol.
Also, it's all very similar to Mr. Queen, the king there was conisdered a weakling fool of a king in real history books, but in the drama they showed he was simply pretending. And there was also some history rewriting due to Mr. Queen's actions.
I'm not sure though that showing ML is actually all white and fluffy, just misunderstood is gonna fly here. They probably won't show his worst atrocities, or reframe them in a different, more sympathetic light.
i want some honest opinions... so is it really nearly as good as Moon lovers or mr Queen or It's just another…
I'm getting Mr. Queen vibes. FL is also a professional cook, the story's gonna revolve around lots of cooking for the king. ML is viewed as a bad king in history books, which FL probably somehow gonna rewrite through her actions. The only similar thing to Moon Lovers is the method of FL's transportation to the past, but even that is not identical - FL is transported into the past as herself, with modern clothes, mobile phone, et al.
i really liked the female lead and was hoping to watch the romance between the leads but it's not happening anymore.…
Probably gonna kill S1 FL off screen somewhere and introduce a new character. Happened many times in other dramas. Usually leads to worse plots and ratings though.
Flex X Cop one of my favorite shows in 2024. Sad she is not part of S2, but I will wait with judgement until I…
Don't shoehorn AoS into this. Changing actresses was done there on purpose, it was planned from the beginning because of the story. Here's it's just some dumb schedule conflict. And what on earth is so much better for FL actress here that she decided to ditch this drama for something else? Wasn't Flex X Cop the most popular show she was in?
Well, there goes my hype for season 2, down the drain. Even if they cast new actress it's not gonna be the same. Especially since showrunners promised romance between the leads in season 2.

You wrote you understood why he pushed her away in episode 10, you didn't need detailed explanation for that.…
Yea, ML's a pos because of all the s*it that happened to him, but if you drop where you did you won't see his character development into a nice guy. This drama focuses more on FL in the first part of the drama, with most of her problems being resolved there. And the second part focuses more on ML.
And I think he couldn't just tell FL what's on his mind clearly straight away, because he was nobody to her at that point. From his point of view FL didn't want to tell him about her illness, and he's not such a blunt character as to press her about it and force her to accept his help. But once she accepted him as her bf, he started doing very nice things for her. He even wanted to quit his job to travel to the best clinics in the world with her.
But I can understand simply not liking the drama, no need to force yourself.
