Looks like FL wasted her youth on studying for nothing. Looks like in SK to be successful it's either top school or bust. Was it the point where she started losing that drive and clear vision of her life goal? I know it's just an anecdotal personal experience, but I know some people like that, all they knew was how to study but not how to deal with reality, especially when it doesn't go your way. In the end many of their more sociable and enterprising classmates with worse scores ended up having way better paying jobs, even though they'd graduated from less prestigious institutions of higher education, some didn't even bother getting a tertiary education. Getting top scores will only get you so far in life.
But that's not taking away from SK's crazy high competition on job market and employers' hiring criteria being ridiculously high and more often than not unnecessary for the actual job required. Hence we get to watch these crazy dramas where constantly stressed out kids are studying 17 hours 24/7, ignoring many of the important aspects of that development period. But in the end not everyone's as smart as their parents want them to be, not everyone can qualify for whatever dream job they or their parents dream of (it's still a fkn manager, mostly 😂). So no wonder they've such high suicide rate among their youth. At this point their government, instead of being in denial, should start a nation wide free mental health tests and free depression medication programs. They're rapidly turning into an old geezers country, just like Japan, they gotta take care of their youth better, it's the future of their country after all.
Ep 2 - Please anybody reassure me that in Korea your bosses do not physically assault you!, OMG how many dramas…
Gender discrimination plus seniority system = double toxic whammy for female workers in SK. And interesting thing because of the seniority system being part of their culture many of them don't even consider it workplace abuse.
"major" is not so correct translation, I would say "golden young" or "rich guy" and imao Pavel did his job much…
It's a Russian slang word with its meaning taken from an old French slang word "majeur". It means an offspring of a rich influential family, someone born with a silver spoon, an elite youth. Basically young chaebol in SK terms. That TV series title in English was literally translated to "Silver Spoon".
wonder who sabotaged ML's op. - his jealous peer to bring him down? Or the deceased's foe?
It was likely his anesthesiologist who got bribed by those Triad looking guys from Macau. I mean, just look at them in court - they looked like gangsters. And their motive is also clear - that woman was about to inherit a casino empire which they probably wanted for themselves.
I really like a person who can solved math problems in the air.
But how does anything more than basic math help in med school? I bet just as much as chemistry in economics university. High education institutions and their ridiculous entry standards make no sense at times.
People saying ignoring stomach pain for days is normal and not dumb - are you nuts? It is dumb and it's double dumb when it's a doctor who can better self-diagnose and knows the possible dangers. For example, ignoring a ruptured appendicitis, or gallbladder in FL's case, is a fast way to the mortuary. It's not the people who don't ignore their health and go to the doctor when they're in pain that are childish, it's you. If you're a responsible adult you should also do regular check-ups. But good for FL for at least recognizing depression symptoms and asking for professional help. It's a silent killer. But not good for being in denial after getting a diagnosis.
As for ML, I find it strange that nobody seems to have even interrogated the anesthesiologist who actually administers drugs during surgeries. They’ve just put all the blame on the surgeon. As always, corruption and incompetence hand in hand making innocents suffer.
Also, the title of this drama is wrong (?). Being a slump is when you're in a rut and have no motivation to work. This here looks more like the leads were wronged, ML majorly one time, FL continuously for a long time, and both going through hard times.
I'm just speculating. However, since they're likely trying to do something akin to Castle TV series here it would make sense. Considering FL's parents are ok here, then it's ML who will get a revenge story. In Castle TV series FL became a cop to investigate the murder of her mother. Maybe that's what will make ML take it seriously here.
Well, we got some teaser about his father in the first episode. Maybe something will happen to him and he'll finally get a grip? But knowing the typical kdrama plots I'm thinking him being a bastard from another woman it will turn into a revenge drama investigating who ran over his mother. And typically it's someone from the family, perhaps that bitchy wife of his father's to blame.
I hope we'll get a good explanation, because so far it just looks obnoxious. Doesn't look like it's some family drama, maybe something concerning her father, but at least he's alive and well.
And ML is also obnoxious so far, all he does is flaunt his wealth. We get it, boy, you're rich, stop showing off for even a minute.
And now they've introduced the same type of medical examiner character here as in Castle TV series. It really looks like they're trying something similar here. Unfortunately it doesn't look as fun so far.
Lmao what a take. Just because he ended up catching a murderer doesn't mean he can run around playing batman.…
It was self-defence though, the culprit had a knife and was aggressively attacking him. Everyone admitted it was self-defence. ML didn't even need to grease any palms to get released. But it all made police look bad and incompetent, hence the plot.
FL here is biased af. She fked up and she knows it, but still continues to act like ML is at fault just because he's a rich spoiled man. I mean, he did capture the culprit and she didn't. And then she arrested him with excessive violence by breaking his nose and made him marinate in jail for nothing. Just because she later decided to finally properly investigate and found the knife and who the culprit was doesn't excuse her bias and incompetence.
