Overall this drama was rather boring and repetitive. The ending was lackluster as well. Romance just didn't work, zero chemistry, shouldn't have even bothered. ML overacted too much, FL has the same "serious&worried" face in all her dramas. I liked the king best here.

Yea. Same problem. But to be fair, she felt rejected by him all these years after that event where she hurt her leg and saw him with her sister. And she never knew he was into her, he never told her. So she thought it was hopelessly one sided. She also had a ton of self hatred and low self esteem baggage to sort out in those 10 years, several of which she lived a total shut in. She probably felt like she didn't deserve him or something, so never got in touch with him.

He's a good guy, but I never liked romances that are "out of sight, out of mind". It's always either the existence of the other person is forgotten when they're not around anymore, but sudden interest gets ignited tenfold when he/she appears again. Or it's some nebulous pining that after many years never led anywhere. Makes it feel like it was all disingenuous, like feelings were never strong enough.
Here, for example, ML was never determined to get together with FL, he got on with his life for 10 years, barely being interested in FL's life, even though he could have learned everything from his mom. And FL never even knew he was into her all those years.

Not really. ML liked the sporty twin since school and he could distinguish between them back then. Now the sporty twin is pretending to be her smarty twin sister while going out with him on business and he's tripping, because the supposedly completely different character smarty twin acts like the sporty twin that he liked. The real smarty twin went back to take sporty twin's place at their hometown, she doesn't care about anybody, but maybe there'll be something with her boss at the strawberry farm.

Why not for the main leads? ML's backstory is the most heart breaking.

But FL who's got no education swapped her twin here just fine. Certainly there are professions out there where you gotta have education to do a certain job, but more often than not people applying for those blue collar "office plankton" types of jobs are actually overqualified with their education. Diplomas nowadays are a must for everything, companies require them without thinking whether the job actually demands it. Though every dumbass can get a diploma nowadays as well, just pay money. Only the most prestigious ones have value and even then when you can actually get a real job with what you've studied there. Not unheard of when people with some esoteric majors turn up ending working at McDonalds. And very often, as I've said above, universities teach too much unnecessary stuff to inflate credits value, wasting students time and money, and collude with each other to manipulate rankings.

Ha, I'm on episode 2 and this is actually pretty good :) FL is doing a great job here in double role as well. Though makes one wonder whether all that time and stress spent on education is really worth a damn when you start working for real. Imho, they teach too much outdated theory and unnecessary stuff just to fill up credits nowadays. When people start working for real they often have to learn everything from scratch at work.

I like the king most in this drama, his acting is the best here. Main leads are boring.

In this one the king wants to make a reform to abolish slavery. You can imagine that none of those noble class ministers would support it. The retired minister could have have helped him with that by returning and siding with him in court.

Well, just like a speck turning into a big shiny pearl. I dunno why they're eggs, eggs aren't as cool, imho.

Dragons having pearls comes from Chinese folklore. In Chinese folklore dragons are water creatures, some were even basically river fish, specifically koi carp. Their pearls somehow are their eggs. Dragon pearls represent the dragon's power, wisdom, connection to the spiritual realm, bring good luck and prosperity. (I'm sure if they could find any, Chinese would kill all the poor dragons and grind their pearls into their dumb traditional medicine, lol)

In one Chinese legend the pearl had a magical property to increase the quantity of anything it touches, the boy swallowed the pearl and transformed into a dragon. I'm sure many get the Dragon Ball reference in their heads now.

Personally, I think them having pearls is like a mussel nurturing a sand speck inside of them until it becomes a shiny pearl. And imoogi wanting to become a dragon also nurtures their pearl with good karma until it becomes big and powerful.

In Chinese, Japanese & Korean folklore huli jing/kitsune/gumiho (fox spirits) also have similar pearls/balls/beads in their mouths which are the source of their shapeshifting and magical powers, and they would die if separated from their ball for too long as it represents their soul. There's a whole kdrama about an immortal gumiho having a pearl and an evil imoogi called Tale of the Nine-Tailed, there even was a bratty little brother too. And the drama had a sequel.

Let's hope so. The guy was dead and eaten by the spirit for the whole of the drama. He wasn't even there along for the ride. Bringing him back is not even close to the shitty Mr. Queen ending.

What I'm reading is that this story is so dumb only kids would find it entertaining without eyerolling at all the dumb and cheesy stuff going on here. Never understood the need to defend showrunners that don't think much of the audience's intelligence.

He barely can look after himself. Women need to be guarded, especially FL, since she's doing all the rituals. And the evil spirit can travel everywhere with the evil shaman, he even went to FL's village to kill her grandma. So palace is safer than outside of it, it's harder to go unnoticed there with all the guards.

Please no, this show is draggy enough as it is and is only a quarter as interesting as AoS.

This is getting boring and repetitive. Every episode basically ends on a dangerous ohshitohshit moment, but in the next episode everything is resolved in the first five minutes and main characters are non the wiser after the predicament. They're being kidnapped, people are trying to kill them, but nah, let's not do anything about it and stay carefree. Could have at least asked the king to send some guards to guard them and their house, or better yet, have them live in the palace where it's safer.
