This is addictingly good, go watch this!! 💖 I was expecting something heavy drama, but this was so light and fluffy. Idk why but this actually felt like a kdrama to me than a jdorama, maybe its the way Abema produce doramas rn but I really love it! Also Honda kyoya is so gorgeous, I want to thank his parents for the beautiful genes.
I've picked up the novel expecting a heartwarming story but I didn't expect to be a crying mess. Seriously, Jbls are in their depress phase right now, and no doubt Egoist takes the no. 1 spot. Its way depressing than Eien no kinou (novel) and The end of the world with you (bl manga), both are fantasy works btw. Egoist is an autobiography and the story has depth, it means Kosuke is based on Makoto's (author) real life.
All I wanna say is Kosuke you deserve the world, a literal angel👼 I've only seen a few works from Ryohei Suzuki but he got a big shoes to fill in as Kosuke.
Also while reading the novel, I've found out that the author died last 2020.
???You do know that the creator of this manga is an openly gay mangaka, right? They didn't avoid anything because…
You really need to stop dragging old fashion cupcake in every arguement you make here in mdl, I know that its the standard for you but you have to understand that not every dorama is the same as them. The two are completely different from the characters, stories and the issues they're dealing with. Kabe koji's whole issue talks about Mammochi's insecurity and struggle of accepting himself which btw reflects on the author's own personal life. If you came here expecting for intimacy, then this is not the dorama for you, its not even marketed as bl. Unlike Old fashion cupcake which was mainly targeted for adult female audience that's why there is a lot of sexual tension and intimacy on it, it needs to appeal to their audience.
Also old fashion cupcake and kabe koji, wasn't even officially release international yet, its all local. They're not profitting from international platform such as viki, even though you pay for it. Unlike mbs who partnered with gagaoolala.
It's not ok to avoid a gay kiss in order to pander to a squeamish hetero audience and/or to make your homophobic…
???
You do know that the creator of this manga is an openly gay mangaka, right? They didn't avoid anything because in the first place there wasn't even a kiss in the original manga. The production just faithfully adapted it. It doesn't make this dorama less of a bl if it doesn't have a kiss. And I think you're missing the whole point of this dorama, romance is just a subplot of it. Also the dorama is not even gaining much from this, you can watch it for free on Tver, and I'm pretty sure you just watch this on a free site as well.
Is this going to be 90% voiceover all the way through? It's getting old. Why does he need to say "it started raining"…
Sorry this made me laugh😆 jp are well known for faithful adaptation page per page. If they did adapt it and the scriptwriters give it their own twist, it usually looks like a trainwreck, ex. Sepakoi. Plus the whole novel is 80% Micchan's pov, he's the one narrating the story while everyone else including Koichi are support roles.
The beginning is the beginning of an end, meetings are always accompanied by partings and love like a party will always end at some point. Thats why people in love bring what they like, sit around the table and talk all they can do is enjoy that sadness.
Otsukaresama deshita to the amazing subbers~💖
