The way everyone thinks he does everything to be popular but he's the only one who dgaf about all these stuffs…
Well the drama would've turned into a clown show about how cool and powerful and pitiful and beautiful the ml is by now if he acted the way MANY of the late 90s liuliangs do during contract negotiations for dramas but I'm gonna shut it and not name names π
I think one positive thing that hasn't been mentioned abt xianyu yet is that you don't see stupid billing politics being written all over the show. It truly feels like a love story between LTY and SJ without any bts talk about how to make a particular actor stand out or catter to any of their fandoms and companies and I find it nice. CFY please stay the way you are because I am tired of young men in the entertainment industry having huge egos and wanting all the attention and screentime for themselves and ruining every show as a result of their selfishness π
I'm not even religious anymore but tbh what is very strange to me right now and would probably be when I used to be a believer would be the underlying indicators of orientalism rather than the fact that he's named after satan which is not too serious imo lol...It's as if the author was like "oooh a genie with exotic arab middle eastern indian vibes so I search 'middle eastern mythology' in chatgpt and use the first name that pops up in there as the genie's name π€ͺ". I hope I'm wrong but I feel like this could be the tip of the iceberg of upcoming disasters...
They dubbed him AGAIN? SO ANNOYING. He sounded great in the OG trailer when you could hear his real voice. He…
It's not about the voice but the line delivery. China has a super diverse spectrum of different dialects and the reason some actors get dubbed is that they speak standard mandarin with their own accent which would be basically incomprehensible to native speakers and they'd need subtitles to understand their own shows if the actors don't get dubbed. CL is a good actor and I really like him but he does need to work on his line delivery according to Chinese fans π€·π»ββοΈ
Is this drama going to be on the darker/more mature side? I don't want to be disappointed like with LOTG So I…
It's actually not gonna be that dark or serious (will probably have comedic undertones) but jlfx is a good storyteller and it'll be really fun to watch with lots of emotionally engaging moments if they stay true to the essence of her writing
The only reason LYT is giving some viewers the impression of being naive is because of the interaction between…
Tbh I don't find her trusting Ruling dumb or anything my poor girlie just wanted a friend in this foreign world where everyone and their mama was bullying her π
She's not dumb at all for someone dropped into another world and being powerless there
and tbh she's just an ordinary middle class girl with a corporate job in 2025...she just isn't built for for all the scheming and power struggles in the martial arts world lol
people calling tingyan dumb but that's actually a pretty smart woman with proper survival instincts specially in comparison to the usual costume drama characters who jump right into the most dangerous situations known to man in the name of bravery and curiosity lmfao
We shouldn't judge based off trailer when episodes come out then judge
jlfx novels are usually rollercoasters filled with comedy, romance, dramatic climax, tragedy, a very diverse cast of complex side characters and many, MANY subplots. It's just impossible to capture all of that in 2 minutes of a trailer. Two of my all time favourite fantasy dramas are adapted from her novels and despite both being humorous and lighthearted, they have miles better thematic delivery and emotional depth compared to dozens of "dark" and "serious" dramas I watch and drop every year.
I personally prefer comedy in idol dramas bc whenever I pick up serious costume dramas that people hype up too much, I end up constantly picking out bad logic and plotholes all over the script and It's very difficult for me to watch sth that takes itself seriously yet can't deliver complex and intense plot points properly.
jiu lu fei xiang is the author of the og novel and she always writes romcoms. Her books actually have many emotionally intense themes but they're still quirky at the end of the dayπ€·π»ββοΈ
I just stop reading the comments when the show goes on air bc people just hate actresses and female characters for stupid bs left and right and I don't have the time and energy to fight these children
