Like every time I see online discourse over this adaptation I can't believe an stupid tropy web novel can have the most insufferable fanbase on planet earth...like is a novel that reads like an ao3 fanfiction you gag over at the age of 14 really worth being gross and ageist and misogynistic to REAL women like this??? And most of these ppl don't even care abt acting skills...they just care abt appearance and age bc the actors they deem as suitable for the roles can't move their facial features if they're held at gvnpoint

Hope the drama ends up flopping and being badly received bc the psychopathic fans of this cliche boring recycled revenge rebirth whatever novel harassed the living hell out of every single actress that got rumoured for the role...I still hope the best for Meng jie if she gets cast though 😭

I have close to 0 hope for all of those stellar media dramas atp but cdramaland is really unpredictable 😭 though I must say I did like Love in pavilion so Idk maybe she'll lock in lol (it's interesting that 2 of her original novels that were adapted actually turned out really good but almost none of what she wrote the script for worked)

If you are gonna choose a romance drama you must accept that your screentime and your char's importance is gonna be equal to your fl's costar. You can't accept this kind of genre then demand a 1st billing and more screentime bc it's selfish and ruins the defenition of romance.
I AM allowed to criticise actors who choose this genre while they don't even respect the nature of it.

You shouldn't choose female centric ip adaptations and romance dramas in the first place if you can't stand being equally billed to an actress and have to boss around and make the production team change everything so that you have more screentime and look better and cooler. It's very unreasonable and difficult for me to understand why rjl and actors who have his mindset won't choose male centric dramas and do romance instead.

It's actually a common trait for traffic actors who want all the attention to demand so many scenes where they suffer for the fl so that the audience sees them as selfless heroes and the fls end up looking like heartless arseholes with no sympathy

You can't critisize a single thing on mdl without ppl calling it hate and harassment. Mind you the hatred and harassment the fl is receiving here is a reflection of problematic behind the scenes politics that have been very present in the industry for years and keep getting worse and if anyone who sees things beyond surface level is allowed to discuss and critisize it in a space created for viewers to do so.

And btw the author is a pick me loser as well. Your female centric novel gets butchered and adapted into a male centric mess and instead of sympathising with the woman who fell victim to this very sexist cliche that constantly happens in the industry, you talk shit abt the her. What an idiot

Don't even care if ppl k!ll me for this bc it really gets to a point....rjl is exactly the type of actor ADWAD made fun of. A narcissistic man with the ego of a god who wants the romance drama cashgrab and attention from his mostly female fanbase, yet can't stand the mere thought of a woman taking his spotlight in the said ROMANCE drama for a minute; so him and his team CONSTANTLY demand script changes in his favour and ruin the plot. Then the fl becomes the target of hatred and harassment bc her smaller team and fanbase couldn't save her char from getting watered down in favour of a selfish man.
And no I am not making this up out of nowhere. when you keep up with the industry for years, get to know the bts politics, see the same thing happen over and over again and watch EVERY.SINGLE.ACTRESS end up in a miserable situation whenever he's involved, you realise HE must be the problem!!!!

If generational trauma is a theme in this one I will be eating it up
