have yet to watch FP's 2nd season yet but yeah I 100% agree since I've watched Love and redemption and nothing can hurt me after that one lol. This 3-episodes-long mild angst is is just child's play to MEEE 😭 like it might as well just be fluff lmao

Fun fact: Xianyu is the first big ip adaptation xianxia where both leads are 2000s actors and the 00 kids are well knwon for being a really talented gen in c-ent community. (I totally see it tbh bc I find most idol actors to be wooden and scared of looking bad on camera sp in historical and fantasy but these two are so natural and expressive 😭)

I agree with this overall but the thing is that this drama still follows the novel pretty closely and the changes are very small 😭

whenever I see ppl complain so much abt very small changes and quick-passing bad tropes (like insignificant love rivals or short misunderstanding arcs) I genuinely lose it bc these people were NAWT there back when xianxias had 68 episodes... they litterally had you watch the chars try to k!ll e/o for 10 episode bc a villain who popped up out of nowhere told the girl the guy murdered her parents or sth and the idiot actually believed it 😭

It's the fact that I'm pretty sure if the scriptwriters are the same people, and if things stayed the same for 18 episodes, then the added conflicts will be solved quickly in the 2nd half as well and all this crazy tantrum abt them "ruining" the novel has been over mf NOTHING. Anyways Idk I think I'm not coming back here for now to preserve my sanity.

can't stand how novel readers lose their sh!t and get so insanely overdramatic every time there are minor changes in drama adaptations like damn okay girl Ik where you're coming from but please fvkcing chill and wait for upcoming episodes to actually air and if it ends up being completely sh!t then start complaining 😭 also mind you if this was another xianxia Sima jiao would have mistaken Ruling or the new girl for Tingyan's reincarnation or sth and this conflict would've been dragged for 10 episodes.
