CSS's voice is so soft when she says "to see starlight in your eyes". One of the best lines from ZLS.

Right. That's one of the moments where his character shines.
He also shines when he has a heart to heart talk with his mom about his true feelings towards CSS.

Agree. She would make a good wife to any of them once she decided one. But the heart wants what it wants.
YS has no chance the moment she sees HBY.

In episode 52, when HBY and CSS met for the first time after 5 years separation, they were staring at each other intensely and the camera zoomed to YS’ face. At that moment YS knows that he has lost.

The emperor only has two wives. An Empress and a Consort.
The empress and consort are both good people and they don’t scheme towards the other.
I recommend to give this drama a try. It’s a piece of art.

The first time I watched the livestream I didn’t notice this as my eyes were too fixated on what Gao Han said.

I listened to what’s the Empress said in Mandarin again. It’s Marquis Chengyang which is LBY’s father. WeTv has corrected the error in the subtitle.

I watched the finale livestream with the cast.
If I understand correctly, Lusi explained that after discussion and their understanding of drama LBY they cut out the scene where LBY kneeled and begged CSS because LBY didn’t regret his actions of taking revenge and it’s something that must be done.

I think that’s the reason why they think the kneeling and begging scene in the novel doesn’t fit into drama LBY’s character.

I was rewatching the scene where the Empress confronts LBY after his rescue where he said he has decided to abandon CSS and has no regret.
The Empress’s line “That day, you went to Marquis Quling’s residence alone, have you decided to abandon CSS?”

Do you guys know which scene the Empress refers to?
I don’t remember LBY has ever visited CSS’s house before he carried out the killing sprees.

I think it didn't happen. They were just in a talk for their engagement. In the scene where HBY met her for the first time at the palace gate, I believe CSS and YS just came back from visiting YS' parents about their engagement. And that's it.

No worries.
The last 8 episodes made me cry a river throughout until I got a migraine.
