Apparently in the Novel there wasn't any Romance and the drama added it unnecessarily, I attribute this dramas…
I wish there was a website like this one but that in addition to the info already here, they would also add a link to the webtoon/manga/manwa/wattpad story... on all these adaptations. This way you could really see if the adaptation was indeed loyal to the story, or not, and therefore write you critique accordingly.
On The Heavenly Idol Apr 9, 2023
Well, I never wanted a main couple to be plot killed more than in this one. Mind you it has his funny moments and all interactions of the whole band are very good but they should have got rid of any romance plot or the FL, one or the other. It was super hard to watch 'til the end but I hate to leave things unfinished... also, I kept hoping it would get better...it didn't. Loved Kim Min Gue but on this one just no... his "clueless" look during the series got old really fast unfortunately. This is one of those that maybe it should have not been adapted and be left as a 2D story.
On A Shoulder to Cry On Apr 8, 2023
I loved this one and the chemistry of the leads and how well they interact is prob due to all that training to become idols... they are already used to be together and act cute for the fans. Not complaining mind you. I really, really like it and it could have been one of the best, if not the best of the releases from Korea to date if it wasn't for the last couple of eps... more particularly last ep...what the hell was that? It was rushed, made little sense... this last chapter needed at least 2 or 3 to bring the story nicely to an end and not to rush all on one last ep!! Nevertheless, from someone that hates BLs in schools, worth watching and re-watching. By the way, I would have loved if in that final tournament instead of losing... he managed a Robin Hood arrow! It was such a missed op ... sigh!
On Unintentional Love Story Apr 8, 2023
I wasn't expecting much when it started but I'm liking it more and more and now cannot wait for next week. Hate, hate cliffhangers!! After ep 7 I thought, thank goodness there's an 8 'cos I could not wait to watch what would happen next... and then the 8th ep leave us like that! aaargh!!! One thing though... at one point they say that W resigned but he's back at work. And would I go back to that work after all those underhanded actions? that looks really bad in my book and W should not have gone back! pretty annoyed about this. Not gonna happen but I would go all thai lakorn from here on with a plot like W faling sick or having an accident 'cos is distracted with grief and TJ goes to see him and they reconcile...or feeling so bad that he leaves for a job in the US or Japan ... and then they reunite when the secondary couple decide to finally get together and have a party. By then TJ has already found out the truth and is full of regret and wants to reconcile... got sooo many ideas but unfortunately this is not the korean BL style...sigh! Nevertheless, I'm dying for the next two chapters. Loving it!!
On You Are My Hero Apr 8, 2023
Fair enough, this is not the best there is, but not the worst either. Again too long and too not happening much, but I did like it. Not a gripping story or lots of sexual tension... just a cute, fluffy love story that indeed would have look much better with just 20 eps or less. You have some bad guys but even those instances are quite vanilla and are sorted pretty quickly. There is a secondary couple, but that woman was pretty annoying in my opinion and got fed up with her quite quickly, so I just moved forward quite a bit whenever she was around. Male lead is just an eye candy worth the watching time. However, his role needed someone more imposing like Jin Boran. Bai Jin Tin got muscles and height but looked more like a pretty, cuddly thing than a special police lol! The OST is very good if you bother to listen and the acting is good too... it's just oh so bland and the length did not help. I'm quite sure that would have this one been 16-18 eps it would have had better reviews. Would I recommend it? yes if nothing else grabs your fancy and don't want anything complicated. Will I rewatch it? Maybe isolated eps but the whole of it ..? NO THANKS, once is more than enough with this one.
On The Spirit of the Ruler Apr 6, 2023
They should have just done something around the 4 friends and their troops... that interaction was cute and funny. Unfortunately it would not be a lakorn if no females are involved... so I'm sorry to say that they did include them. And for that they looked for the silliest, loudest and more retarded they could find. Bingo you will find them here. Annoying does not begin to adequately express these women acting skills. Poor excuse for a kidnapping when they don't even gag them and believe me, they should have, like 24 hours a day!!The forward button was used many, many, many times! I just could not physically continue watching this absolute train wreck from episode 4 without wanting to remove my ears. The guys did the best they could but as soon as a shouting, crying female appeared, the story just was not worth watching. Watched at your peril!
On My Dear Guardian Apr 5, 2023
If you like the chinese drama full of the usual tropes... obsession with marriage, FLs acting 90% of the time like brainless 5 year olds, waaaaaaaay too many eps that do not bring anything to the story, chinese propaganda on how amazingly good they are, self sacrificing heroes for no particular reason, FL obsessing over males they just met for 5 secs and acting all stalkerish even though they know he's not interested at all, etc... then this is the one for you. Alternatively, I beg of you, watch something else. Save yourself the time I've wasted and never will get back, sob, sob...
Positives: Johnny in the shower, Johnny shaving with just a towel, Johnny being freaking cool, the cat... cannot think of anything else tbh

On Crash Course in Romance Mar 25, 2023
Title Crash Course in Romance Spoiler
Firstly, the title is absolutely misleading. This is not a romance movie, more of a critique of the korean education system with a background of mystery and a little bit of romance.
The FL has been classified as an upbeat, positive person regardless of her circumstances but also she's a nosey parker that will intrude in your life whether you want it or not. Super irritating person for whom a NO means please continue annoying the hell out of me! Jesus woman, he's telling you to leave him alone, that doesn't mean to go to his house, or to put your tent almost on top of his, or going to his workplace, if this is not stalking I don't know what is. She has no sense at all of privacy or personal space and keeps going on and on like an irritating mosquito. Once the relationship is established, I have to admit that it's sweet and age appropriate.
However positive side of it, the situation with her older sister on the last 3 chapters puts the nail in the coffin for me. Doormat doesn't describe her attitude strongly enough... so a sister that abandons her kid on your door and ruins your life returns and the only thing you do is to stand there, say nothing and let her do as her pleases?? really? not a what the flip are you doing here? where have you been? Shut up and stay in a hotel as you're not welcome in my house??? it's her attitude realistic at all? Not even a hint of being angry with the situation, just a bit irritated is all I see. It has to be a 19 year old the one to tell her as it is and confront her on her selfishness. I really have to push myself to finish these last chapters tbh. The only thing that push me through was the desire to see how those mothers get some kind of punishment and on this, again, I was really disappointed. They had no qualms in ruining the lives of 2 young people for their own selfish needs and that was OK, they could get away with it, no problem due to the social standing of their leader. Very sad to see how time and time again we are told that if you have money, you can get away with anything.
More than anything, this movie is a mirror on the frightening korean education system. With 10 hours a day minimum of study, parents pushing, society pushing, cutthroat competition among your piers and risking all your life on just one exam... I'm really not surprised about the high amount of parental abuse cases and suicides... I'm surprised there are not even more of them!! i think that Seon Yae asking her mother... you have a successful career, are you happy?? really says it all. She's a successful lawyer but she's on her way to a divorce, has driven her older son to the brink of madness and is driving her youngest to suicide... is she really happy now??
All in all, I would not recommend this series, unless you don't have anything better to watch. Not that it's badly done or the OST is dreadful, it's just the characters, specially the FL is so irritating that cannot bear to watch again. But if that doesn't bother you, be my guest. This comment is MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION which you may or may not agree with. No issues either way with me.

I'm halfway through this drama and i've concluded that whoever it is that was responsible for Nam Haeng Seon 's…
I'm with you on this one... no one wants to see that character in designer clothes unsuitable for the role, but what's with the 4 size bigger coats and jumpers? and the horrid said jumpers tucked inside the jumpers? And fair enough, she appears to have frizzy hair, but com'on ... that fringe looks more suitable for a 30s or 40s movie... is absolutely dreadful!

Well just finished it and it was a bit of a chore I have to say...Tbh I was here just to see JCW and indeed watch him I did... a lot... However, after the first 3-4 initial chapters it was difficult to keep my interest going. The political drivel went on and on and on ... and then there was the mushy stuff btw JCW and Yoon Ah, which really was never that believable. I thought their chemistry was of arctic temp levels. Opposite to this, the chemistry btw JCW and Son Yoon An was off the charts.... I would have much prefer the script writers to have focused on this one instead of the other. Yoo Ah character got on my nerves soo much... always, crying or having to be rescued every 10 mins... hate feeble female characters and she's a very good sample of the whimpering cutie, arg! And then there is Yoon An... wow... she blow me away with her acting skills. By the 4-5 last chapters, the story was getting ridiculously unbelievable. Every single korean politician is corrupted to the gills, all policemen can and will get bought and JCW ... well, he goes beyond superman... I'm positive he has been genetically engineered and crossed with the genes of a cockroach ... he's just impossible to kill, no amount of damage or blood loss slows him down... nuclear strike included...! Do you remember that scene from one of the Pink Panther movies when P Sellers is playing a trumpet to get the troops to attack and at the end friends and foes were shooting him to shut him up? Well, at one point I would have shot him few times too! I would have reduced this one to 10-12 chapters, add more action (but realistic one), less mushy stuff and got rid of Anna or making her just a support role that appears now and then.

I loved, loved this drama and yes, even though I say that, I do admit to bits and pieces that I did not like that much and could and should have been avoided . As per the general consensus Park Seo Joon nailed his part...I just love this man and the revenge story is a good one as you can see how much time his character is willing to invest on it which makes it quite realistic. Not like other shows where from one minute to the next, hey presto, I'm rich, famous and you've been destroyed. So 10/10 on this part.
The part I did not like, again, same as the majority, is that Park Seo Joon and Kim Da Min have the chemistry of a wet rag! Awful to watch and forced, almost cringeworthy to watch. Would have been waaaay better if she ended with Geun Won. Didn't particularly like Soo Ah either as Kwon Na Ra doesn't really give the character the necessary selfishness that this role required. She ends up being quite a pitiful creature all in all. And who's that Toni guy and what was doing there? Bad acting as its best... kudos for the diversity but he was bad sorry. Thank goodness he was the exception to the general rule.
Would I recommend it? Definitely. It's perfect? No it's not but has so many positive points, as to be worth your time and made up your mind about it.
Btw, did I see Park Bo Gum at the end....????? lol it must have been one of his first roles in a big drama... so proud of m'a boy, sniff... he's doing so well now...sniff

Oh god female lead is so annoying
Totally disagree but I respect your opinion. I love strong female leads and cannot stand the swony idiots falling for no particular reason and twirling 3 times (it's that even possible?) before the all male can catch her and of course fell in love for the delicate idiot.

probably the best rom-com i've ever watched but (can't believe i'm saying this as a secondary couples' enjoyer)…
Not sure if the best one I watched (each one has its own opinion) but I agree that I like it very much and prob I will re-watch it a few times... with regard to the secondary couple, I was just admiring the amazing sample of manhood that Kim Ji Hoon is... so I may have missed a lot of any of the surrounding action.

someone can recommend a drama like this one? The recommendation from MDL are not that similar...
Have you seen DOCTORS? Netflix I believe... you got a feisty female character and lots of funny situations together with serious ones. Bit heavier than this one due to the role they play but still full of cute moments. Ah!, if you get sick at the sight of blood, don't watch it, sorry forgot to mention that.
