not sure if it is the future or his imagination or his rewrite version of the past (my mandarin sucks so not sure but it looks like somewhat of a flashback + imagination. it is nothing like reunion, more like a rewrite version of their earlier times.)
ep 21-26 spoilers (pls mind that my mandarin is intermediate lvl at best and I watched it raw)
1. FL realized her love for ML. ML keep pushing fl away. As it is always how it goes, they get entangled due to the "situations" but never get to be "together". FL kinda shows her true feelings when she is drunk but that's it.
2. 2nd sml dies while trying to shield fl from his own father's arrow. beforehand they met by chance in market and got to drink together. he confesses there that he wanted to be (at least) friends but him being the enemy's son, fl refuses. (while he dies in her arms I think she regrets that.) her enemy gets arrested and there's no related scenes after that.
2.ML get abducted by SML (the bad prince one) and almost get killed. that shitty sml uses him as a hostage during the war. Watching him used as human shiled FL loses it and go after them alone. But when ML was being abducted he knew what was going on and didn't want to burden FL (she was named general due to her saving the emeperor against the enemy when his son got shot and dies) and her decision to protect her country so he eats poison himself before being abducted. while he states his uncle's crimes and reasons he should die, he throws up blood and falls. that son of a devil bad prince drags him tied to the horse's back (!!) he almost dies but fl goes after him alone and save him.
3. after saving almost dead ml, fl tries to save him and makes a load of drugs and keep testing them on herself. that takes a big toll and her looks get ruined, she gets real old. then she runs and hide from ml. after ml wakes up, he looks for fl but not knowing why she went away, he just thinks she doesnt want him anymore.
4. that princess keeps pestering on ml but ofc he refuses, saying fl is "the one" who looked past everything and loved him for himself. Not the looks, status, etc.
5. the grandma looking fl runs into ml in the market during the fireworks (the one which ml and princess went together and where ml tells her that fl is "the one", ml runs into fl after he made the princess run away in tears) but didn't notice it was her. He thinks she is lantern selling old lady. In tears, fl try to hide and give him the lantern.
6. in the end, he goes to some painting shop and gets his portrait of him and fl. he looks into it and sees himself happy with fl. (not sure if it is his imagination). ep 26 ends there.
